Magnus was overwhelmed to say the least. It was just too much to take in. Alec had just confessed he liked someone and he had described that someone…and he had told the whole internet about it. True, Alec most likely wasn't aware that the internet knew about the video…but still.
Magnus tried to figure out who was the man who owned Alec's heart. A small part of him thought it could be him. His heart started to beat faster just by thinking about it…but it couldn't be. There was no way Alec could like him. Even though some things matched, like the color of his eyes and how tall he was…it told him nothing. Many people were taller than Alec and had green eyes. And Magnus was certainly not strong or confident or good looking…
No, it had to be someone else. It was probably some handsome guy Alec met in college. There was no way it could be Magnus. It just wasn't possible.
"I need some air" Magnus said suddenly.
He closed his laptop and stood up. Magnus moved towards his closet and changed his clothes. He was going for a walk so he changed into a more comfortable shirt, some fitted jeans, and his red converse. He thought about grabbing a sweater as well, but decided against it.
He opened the door and peered outside. No one was out there, so he quietly closed the door behind him and moved downstairs. Karen was in the kitchen cooking dinner, while all the kids did their homework in the dining room. Magnus tiptoed to the front door and was about to leave when Karen called out after him.
"Where are you going?" She called
"Just…going for a walk" Magnus answered
"It's late" Karen said with worried eyes "At least eat something before you leave"
"I'll eat something on the way" He said quickly
"Alright" Karen sighed "Take a sweater…it's chilly outside"
"I'll be fine" Magnus said moving towards the door once more
"Alright…take care!" Karen called, sounding worried
"Will do" Magnus called back
"Magnus!" Karen called just before Magnus closed the door "I love you"
Magnus stopped as soon as the words left Karen's mouth. He closed his eyes for a moment, but then he continued to walk out. He closed the door, leaving Karen behind without an answer.
He felt bad for doing this to Karen. She was always so kind and gentle towards him. She made all she could to make his life better. Karen was the closest thing to a mother Magnus had…and he didn't deserve her.
She was too nice. Too kind and lovely…she was more than what Magnus could ask for. He was bringing her down with his problems. She deserved a better son…he was nothing but a burden.
Magnus walked in silence until he reached the small park he always went when he needed some alone time.
Instead of sitting by the swings, like he often did, he decided to sit on one of the benches. It was cold outside and he regretted not bringing his sweater or jacket to cover himself. He should've listened to Karen.
Magnus sighed and pulled out his phone. He contemplated watching Alec's video again, but decided against it. Instead, Magnus decided to check people's reaction to the new video. He opened his Twitter app and started looking.
After a long moment of reading tweets from fan girls and some hate comments, Magnus clicked on Alec's profile.
Magnus noticed that Alec had just realized about the new video because his latest tweet had been sent 2minutes ago.
AngelOnTheLine: I really hate my sister sometimes…
Magnus chuckled at the tweet and started looking at all the responses the tweet had gotten.
"You're going to get sick" Someone said from behind him.
Magnus stood up with a jump and spun around. He locked his phone and put it away in a swift motion. His eyes locked with the person who had spoken and his eyes widened.
Alec stood in there, a couple of feet away from him wearing jeans, a black shirt and a dark leather jacket.
"I'm not cold" Magnus managed to say. His expression was guarded and blank.
"You're shivering" Alec said
"I left my jacket home" Magnus shrugged
"Take mine" Alec said, shrugging off his jacket.
"Then you will be cold" Magnus responded
"I have a sweated back in the car" Alec said extending his arm and offering Magnus the black sweater
"Alright, but…you have to go get the other one from your car" Magnus said taking the offered jacket carefully.
"Alright" Alec grinned when Magnus took the jacket.
With one last smile, Alec walked off and towards his car. As soon as Alec was out of sight, Magnus put on the jacket. Its warmth surrounded Magnus instantly like a blanket. It smelled strongly like Alec. It was a bit too big for Magnus's frame, but he still smiled widely. He was wearing Alexander Lightwood's jacket!
He quickly wiped off the smile when Alec started to walk back to him. He was now wearing a black hoodies.
"What are you doing here?" Magnus asked once Alec reached him again.
"Needed to escape" Alec shrugged
"From what?" Magnus asked warily
"My sister…the world" Alec said with a sigh "I just needed to get away and get some time to be alone"
"I should leave, then" Magnus said turning to look at the floor
"Not away from you" Alec said quickly "I mean…you don't have to leave"
"I don't want to bother you" Magnus said "Plus I'm sure you're better off without my presence"
"Magnus if this is about last time…" Alec trailed off "I'm sorry"
"Don't" Magnus said looking away from him "Just…just don't"
"But I am sorry" Alec said sadly
"Sorry for what?" Magnus asked, his voice turning hard and cold
"For making you uncomfortable" Alec mumbled "I know what happened was wrong…Even if nothing really happened. I mean, we just fell asleep…but still. It obviously made you uncomfortable. I felt as if I was taking advantage of your trust…you're going through some really hard times right now and all you need is a friend to support you. I should never have done what I did. The last thing I want to make you uncomfortable, which I obviously did…"
"Alec…you're rambling" Magnus said softly, but he managed to shut Alec up.
"Sorry" Alec mumbled, a bright blush rising on his cheeks.
"Just…to make it clear" Magnus started "Say exactly what you're sorry for"
"I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable" Alec said.
"You think I felt uncomfortable because we fell asleep together?" Magnus asked carefully
"Yeah" Alec answered, still looking down at the floor "You barely have anyone to be close to…And I should have…"
"I wasn't uncomfortable" Magnus said quickly "I thought I was the one who made you uncomfortable…you started rambling about how it was wrong and a mistake…I thought you were disgusted with me because I fell asleep on you"
"Why would I be disgusted by you?" Alec asked with a frown, finally looking up at Magnus
"Because" Magnus sighed "No one wants to be close to the fag…"
"Don't you dare call yourself that" Alec snapped with a deep frown "Just don't!"
"It's nothing new to me" Magnus shrugged sadly
"I know people call you that" Alec said "But that's not a reason to use it on yourself!"
"Alec-"
"Can't we just…forget everything? Go back to being friends? I've missed you" Alec cut off Magnus and blushed scarlet when he finished talking.
"Y-You…you've missed me?" Magnus almost chocked with his breath
"Of course I missed you" Alec shrugged "You're my friend…"
"I-I…I missed you too" Magnus said softly.
Alec looked at him with a smile, which made Magnus smile back. Suddenly they were both grinning like idiots in the middle of an abandoned park.
Alec was still blushing deep red and Magnus tried hard not to swoon over how cute Alec looked like that…
Suddenly, with a bust of courage, Magnus stepped forwards and embraced Alec. Alec was shocked for a moment, but then he hugged him back tightly.
"So…we're good?" Alec asked
"Yes" Magnus grinned "Yes we are"
The weekend went by really quick. On Saturday, Magnus and Max had planned a movie afternoon together. But after Alec and Magnus fixing things between them, Magnus had invited Alec along and Max had then decided to invite Jace and Izzy as well. It had been really fun and Magnus had gotten the chance to bond with the other two Lightwoods. While Magnus could not stand Jace's personality and vice-verses, they were still cool towards each other. There were some things they had in common and similar interests. Even though none of them would admit it, they both knew a friendship could be formed in there.
Izzy, however, was a completely different story. She was like Magnus's platonic soul mate. They had everything in common! They loved clothes, and music, and make up, and just around everything! They spent countless of hours talking about the new trends and what had happened in the celebrities' lives.
Alec was really glad Magnus had gotten along so well with his siblings. For some part, Alec wanted his siblings to approve of Magnus. There was just something about knowing that his siblings liked Magnus that made Alec feel good and happy…and there was also the thing where Magnus needed knew friends.
Alec sometimes worried about Magnus's life in his school. He knew he was bullied every day and that no one cared enough to help him. It made Alec incredibly mad that everyone could be so heartless…but now, Magnus knew Jace and Izzy and they've become somehow friends. Alec knew that once his siblings started going to school once more, they would protect and help Magnus….So that's why he found himself talking to both Izzy and Jace on the living room Sunday night.
"I need you to keep an eye on him" Alec said
"Why do you care so much?" Jace sighed "I'm sure he can take care of himself"
"Yeah" Izzy nodded "Plus, I doubt he wants you to send out babysitters for him"
"I know he'll never admit it" Alec sighed "And I know he's strong and can take care of himself…but this guys are bad news. They make his life a living hell!"
"How do you know?" Jace frowned
"I saved him once" Alec waved it away "Just….please promise me you'll help him? He needs friends right now"
"Well of course we'll be friends with him!" Izzy exclaimed "He's the only person we know in there anyways"
"I'll keep an eye out, alright?" Jace sighed finally "Just so you don't have to worry so much"
"Thanks" Alec sighed in relief "Thank you so much"
"But you need to stop treating him like a small kid" Jace continued "He's not your youngest brother. He can take care of himself"
"I'm not treating him like a small kid!" Alec protested
"Alec…you cannot protect him from every bad thing in the world" Izzy said softly "I know you care about him deeply…but sometimes, your help won't be enough"
"I'll do all I can to help him" Alec frowned
"We know" Jace said "And we will as well…but there are things which none of us can stop"
"If someone is bothering him-" Alec started but was cut off by his sister
"You can't protect him from himself" Izzy said quickly "There are wars that take place in our minds and not with those around us"
"He's pretty messed up, bro" Jace nodded "And while we can help with those who taunt him…we cannot help when he taunts himself"
"And neither can you" Izzy added
"Then I'll just have to make sure he knows he can talk to me when he needs it" Alec said, determined to help Magnus no matter what.

Alec is still clueless about Magnus seeing his videos...and they're just friends...but that's much better than not talking to each other, right?
