A/N: Sorry it took me so long to update. Seriously I have been trying to recover from Will's death on the show. I even thought about abandoning the story because it seemed surreal to finish on the path I was going. However, now more than ever I want to give Willicia the happy ending they so deserve. But there will be a little bit of angst. Enjoy J

Chapter 14: The Road not Traveled

Alicia remained quiet as Kalinda's black Tahoe barreled down the roads on the way to Will's condo. She was driving unusually fast and Alicia suspected that she had another stop to make after she dropped her off.

"Ok here we are. Do you need me to wait until you are upstairs?"

"No I'm good. I texted him, he's there and waiting for me." Alicia unbuckled her seatbelt and slid out of the car. Kalinda was about to pull off before she put her hand on the door to stop her.

"Kalinda. Thank you."

"For what?"

"For being there. Not just for me but for Will too."

"You are welcome", Kalinda responded with a small smile. As she watched Alicia walk into the building she let out a big sigh. Maybe their friendship really could go back to where it was.

"Hi"

"Hi", Will responded cautiously. After Alicia's insistence that she come over to his house, he was a little worried that she was starting to have cold feet about their relationship. The last few weeks had been a whirlwind but having Alicia by his side had made everything bearable.

"You ok?"

"Yeah. You?"

"I am now."

Will visibly relaxed at her words. He didn't know what she had to say but he figured now it wasn't a break up.

Watching Will's worry fade at her presence and remembering everything Kalinda told her at the bar ignited a fire in Alicia. She realized what she needed more than anything right now.

She kicked off her heels and slowly took off her sweater while looking Will directly in the eye. She had a small smirk on her face as she walked over to the sound system and turned on some soft music. Will reached out to touch her and she playfully stepped back.

"Oh so this is how we are going to play this? You know I don't like games," he said smiling.

"I think you will like this game Mr. Gardner." She helped him sit down in one of the living room chairs facing her. She walked to the kitchen to get two glasses and a bottle of wine out of the cabinet. She took off her shirt as she walked leaving just her black lace bra and tossed her shirt over the sofa.

"Wooooooow", Will purred as he slumped a little in his chair and spread his legs.

"So Mr. Gardner, tell me about your day while I pour you a glass of wine."

"Well…Diane wants to come back to the firm. So I guess we will be Lockhart and Gardner again pretty soon."

"Wow. Really? That's unexpected."

"Yeah tell me about it. I was pretty shocked that she would give up on being judge but with everything happening with….umm the Governor, she just figured it was for the best."

Will made sure not to say Peter's name to ensure that he didn't break the mood. Alicia was thankful that he caught himself. She brought the glass of wine over to him and sat it in his hand. He tried to grab her hand to pull her on top of him but she wanted to play a bit more.

"So what else happened?"

Will chuckled, sipped some wine and continued with his eyes not leaving Alicia's body.

"Well you know the usual. Reporters calling asking about affairs and scandals, that sorta thing."

Alicia began to unzip her skirt and pull it down as Will talked. He took in a deep breath as he appreciated the black lace panties and stockings that perfectly matched her bra. She noticed the bulge that was forming in his pants and it brought a smile to her face. She didn't know how much longer she could keep this up. She was aching between her legs and although she hadn't felt them she knew her panties were soaking wet.

"That sounds like quite a day," she said as she reached for Will's tie and unfastened it. She moved on to his shirt and rubbed her hands on his chest. He moaned in response to her touch and threw his head back. She could feel his bulge rubbing against her panties and her pace turned from slow and seductive to much more frantic. She needed him inside her NOW.

Will slammed his lips against her and they kissed passionately. Their tongues swirled around each other mouths as Will helped her unbuckle his pants. As he sprang free, Alicia hummed in approval. She never got used to how big he was. She got down from his lap and kneeled in front of him. Will smiled as he realized what she was about to do.

Within a moment she took him in her mouth and he sucked in a deep breath at the impact. He held on to the arms of the chair as Alicia's mouth went up and down slowly at first but then picked up the rhythm. She had already brought him to the brink so much before that he couldn't stand it for too long.

"Whoa, ok if you keep this up, tonight will be over a lot quicker than you anticipated," he said helping her up.

While they were both standing, Will began to kiss Alicia deeply again. He reached back to unbutton her bra and pull down her panties.

He stepped back to take in a full view of her body.

"You are a goddess baby", he said as he led her to the sofa. Alicia threw her head back in pleasure and put her hand softly on Will's head as he pleasured her. She felt herself nearing an orgasm when he placed two fingers inside of her as his tongue continued its assault. Her body exploded in pleasure and slowly Will entered her. Their bodies moved in perfect harmony as they kissed and caressed each other. Eventually they climaxed together while holding each other tightly.

As they caught their breath, Alicia slowly stroked Will's chestnut brown hair. Several moments passed as they lay in comfortable silence allowing their heart rates to slow down to a normal pace.

"Will?"

"yes?"

"I love you"

"I love you too Alicia."

"No, I mean. I really love you. I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be. Being with you..here..in this moment, it feels like home"

Will lifted his head to look directly in her eyes. He could feel there was something deeper in what she was saying but couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Are you sure you are ok?" he asked concerned.

"Yes," she chuckled "I'm ok. I feel like everything is wrong but yet nothing is wrong. I don't know it's weird."

"Did something happen today? Well besides the obvious."

"Kalinda and I had drinks tonight, before I came here"

"Ah, just like old times hunh?"

"Yeah. Old times because with the press everywhere and our relationship feeling like some scandal it suddenly felt like that thing two years ago. When the world was falling apart around us and we were in a bubble."

Will sat up with his head resting in his hands on Alicia's stomach listening intently.

"Umm hmmm. You thought about ending it didn't you?"

"No. I did doubt us though. And then suddenly everything about why we didn't work out the first time made sense to me. You asked me in the car election night what happened last time? Well what happened is I felt like we were so far removed from the outside world that there was no way we could sustain. It felt unrealistic and like a fantasy. I didn't want us to ultimately not work out and then find out that the world as we knew it was destroyed. Your career in ruins, my relationship with my children, the press possibly finding out, it just all seemed like a huge dream."

"And now?"

"Now when I was talking to Kalinda, I find myself in the same position. Scandal at every corner but this time I get to choose the road not traveled. The road that I should have chosen the first time. I can see the other side now. I know that no matter what, you and I make a good team. I know it sounds corny, but we can get past this. We can get past anything."

They kissed softly and put their foreheads together.

"Yes we can," Will agreed.

"Can I convince you to come take a bath with me?" Will whispered in her ear.

"Yes you most certainly can"

Alicia checked her phone while Will ran a bath for the two of them. She called Grace to make sure she was okay and checked in with Zach. She even texted Cary to see how he was and also to check his temperature after his icy response to her earlier.

"You ready?" Will asked.

"Absolutely"

While in the tub they were both pretty quiet and taking in the serenity of the moment. Will's tub was pretty large so she was able to lie in his arms quite comfortably. He added some bath oils to the hot water and lit a few candles. It was truly quite relaxing and just what they both needed.

"Thank you," he said breaking her train of thought.

"Hunh? Thank you for what?"

"Thank you for telling me everything you told me. It bothered me for a long time not knowing why you broke up with me the first time. I thought we were doing fine and then suddenly it was too much for you. I had too much pride to ask you about it and I didn't fight for you. I know now that was wrong. So thank you for telling me, for believing in us and for taking the road not traveled," he said with a little chuckle.

"You are welcome," she responded as she turned around to kiss him. "I've been thinking about what our next move should be."

"And what did you come up with?"

"I've been at this political thing for awhile now and there is one thing that makes scandals go away quicker than anything else….the truth."

Will was a bit shocked that this was her approach.

"So are you ready for this? To come out about our relationship?"

"Yes. I'm tired of hiding and plotting and putting on fake smiles and everything else. You tell the truth, stare down the pink elephant in the room and suddenly it's boring to everyone else. They move on….What do you think?"

"I think it's just crazy enough to work."

Alicia moved suddenly to get out of the tub before Will grabbed her and sat her back between his legs.

"Hey, where are you trying to go?"

"To call Eli and Peter to set all of this up," she said with a kiss as she made her next attempt to get out of the tub. This time he let her as she carefully navigated over to the towels and wrapped one around her.

Will sat in the tub staring in the water as he heard Alicia talking to who he presumed was Eli on the phone. It was the calm before the storm and he couldn't help but savor the peace that existed in his condo with her there.

As he walked out of the bathroom ten minutes later wrapped in his towel as well, he heard Alicia ending her phone call.

"Ok. Thanks for taking care of this. We are ready when you are. Ok. Bye."

"Eli?" Will asked. He sat on the edge of the bed next to her and began to rub her back.

"Yes it was Eli. He thinks that we will be able to schedule the interview sooner rather than later. Needless to say it's about finding the right show and journalist to conduct the interview so it doesn't become a debacle."

"No debacle? Where's the fun in that?" Will said as he softly kissed her shoulder.

"It's going to be ok Will. I promise, " Alicia responded sensing his nervousness.

"I know."

They began to kiss slowly and then suddenly it turned more passionate. Just as soon as Alicia was about to reach for Will's towel, her cell rang.

"Oh nooooo," Will groaned.

"I have to get it. It's probably Eli."

"Ok. Fine."

"Hi Eli. Yeah he's here, Ill put it on speaker," Alicia said as she held the phone up in the middle of them so Will could hear and speak if necessary.

"Ok you are on speaker."

"Hey Will. The interview is tomorrow. I know I know not much time to prepare but as you can imagine there were plenty of people who would want the interview. The only one I'm comfortable with is Martha Wallace."

"Martha Wallace, she's a bit of a pitbull isn't she?" Will asked surprised.

"She is but she's very well respected and one of the few journalists who is actually interested in a shred of the truth. Her questions will be tough but when it's over, I think we all come out on top."

"And Peter?" Will asked without thinking.

Eli paused. "I think Peter is on board."

"I'll talk to Peter," Alicia chimed in.

"No. I will," Will countered.

"Will, I don't think that's…"

"No, it's long overdue."
