After speaking with Ace about my heart troubles, I'd felt significantly better and ready to take on the rest of my work hours for the day. I was refreshed and confident, knowing that it was okay to use my powers, as long as I continued to keep them discreet as I had been doing, and to be extra watchful of Dr. Ruben and his conniving little nurse spies that always seemed to be tailing me these days.

The clones in the sick ward that I went to visit were, as usual, very happy to see me. I was so glad to know that sometimes my mere presence could make their days better. What would become of these clones once I had gone?

Once I left, there would be no one to force heal any of them... not with the execution of the jedi taking place... And I was certain that with how many more clones that were being sent from Kamino, no one in particular would see any sense of urgency with getting these older, injured clones back to good health. What would become of these clones then?

NO, no, I could not think that way. I just simply couldn't let my mind wander down that path, for I knew if I thought too long and hard on it, I would come to a conclusion in which I wouldn't like. So, for the rest of the morning, I threw myself into my work and determined to pay as much attention to the clones around me as I could.

It was nearing lunch break, and I was finishing up with a last bit of tasks to complete before I ate, when I heard a multitude of in sync footsteps coming down the hall. I blinked and looked up from where I had been washing off nurse utensils and startled to see a squad of seven shock troopers headed my way.

Shock troopers were known for working in security around the senate building as well as in the capital's most fortified prisons. They also were selected to operate as police officers within the capital city. I only knew these things because I had once tended to a shock trooper who was shot while in the process of making a criminal arrest. He'd been such a nice fellow.

However, as I watched the shock troopers approaching me, I noted that they carried themselves in such a manner that told they were not here for any standard check ups. They were on a mission. I expected them to walk right on by me, and I stood well out of there way so that they could pass me in the hall. But to my utter shock, they stopped their marching directly in front of me.

"Vee Yue Kaveechee, you are under arrest," the lead shock trooper announced. My heart plummeted.
"What?" I croaked.

But before I could protest, two clones had grabbed my arms and spun me around against the nearest wall, clicking a set of cuffs over my wrists.
"What's going on!? What did I do? Why am I being arrested?!" I shouted in outrage. They were handling me rather roughly and I did not like it. When they'd finished getting the cuffs on me, the lead trooper spun me around.

"For suspicious association with the jedi," he replied through his helmet mic.
My mind whirled. Was this because of when I had been taken in by the jedi council? Was the fact that I'd interacted with a couple jedi once going to get me imprisoned?! This was madness! Before I could say anything further, I was pulled away from the wall and dragged down the hall way by my arms, surrounded by shock troopers. My heart beat was racing rapidly. As we passed out of several corridors and into the elevator to descend to the lobby floor, my brain struggled to catch up with what was going on. How could this be happening?!

When the elevator door was opened once more and we stepped out, Dr. Ruben was standing by the main desk, his typical clipboard in hand.

"Ah good, you found her," Dr. Ruben stated, "Hope she wasn't any trouble to you," he stated to the shock troopers.
"Not at all," replied the lead shock trooper. My heart stopped. WHAT?! Ruben had done this!? How- why- what- My mind stuttered in trying to piece everything together.
"Ruben! What are you doing!? Why is this happening to me!?" I barked out in anger.
"Don't look at me like that you filthy little force user!" he snapped back, "I should have known from the beginning there was something off about you, Miss Miracle Nurse," he scoffed. So he knew... he had seen me using my powers. That's what this was about! He thought I was a jedi! That's why he was arresting me!
"No, no, you must listen!" I begged turning my head up towards the shock trooper at my right arm, "I'm not a jedi! You've got it all wrong!" I promised, now looking over to Ruben.

"Quiet," the shock trooper commanded harshly, jerking my shoulder.
"Ruben you must believe me!" I cried as the shock troopers pushed me forward to continue walking for the exit.
"Save it for the trial!" Ruben responded stiffly.
"It's all a big misunderstanding!" I screamed, "Please! Please believe me!"

The doors to the front entrance hissed open and I was shoved through them and out into the public eye.

I suddenly became aware of my audience when the people passing by on the streets all turned around to spectate what was going on. Swallowing, I decided to quiet down and not make a fuss. If I was going to get a chance to explain myself, it clearly wouldn't be here. Surely, making a scene would only make things much worse for me. The shock troopers led me over to a police cruiser and sat me down inside of it, situating themselves about me to prevent any chance at my escape. But I wasn't looking to escape now anyway. I was innocent and I could most certainly prove that. I was sure.

They had no evidence against me. Even if Dr. Ruben had seen me using my force abilities, he was merely one witness. Besides, force users were everywhere, and not all of them were jedi. This was a galaxy wide known fact, wasn't it?! As I fretted, the police cruiser lurched forward and into the sky stream lines.

...

Ace had visited nearly ever ship dealer and checked out ever ship for sale add on the grid and with a serious amount of determination and fortitude, finally found a suitable flying vehicle that would suit his and Vee's purposes. Ace was able to buy it off the dealer using a nice chunk of his soldier salary and Vee's nurse salary combined. It'd been a tedious job, but a necessary one, and Ace was quite happy with the results of his morning labor. No one knew ships better than he, considering in his pilot training it was demanded that he learn and memorize nearly every type of flying contraption that could grace space's expanse for military purposes.

The ship he had just purchased was a HWK-290 light freighter, and one of the best he'd seen on the market for a long time. It had been upgraded with a new weapons system just recently, and had a relatively well taken care of engine. Ace had no doubts that it would serve its purpose wonderfully, and thus left the docking station to take a taxi speeder back to the medical center. He simply could not wait to tell Vee that his search had been a large success and even more so, he couldn't wait so that she could come and see the flying beauty for herself.

Upon his arrival to the front of the medical station, Ace was just about to disembark from the taxi when he noticed a police cruiser stationed out on the side walk and a group of shock troopers entering with a prisoner. Ace frowned and narrowed his eyes to better see who it was the troopers were taking away but the person was too smothered and so Ace simply handed the credits over to the taxi driver and stepped out onto the side walk. The police cruiser sped away and Ace entered the medical center. Dr. Ruben was standing at the counter, flipping his finger against a holopad when Ace approached.

"What was all that about?" Ace questioned. Dr. Ruben glanced up briefly.
"Just handling a jedi problem,"
"Jedi problem?" Ace furrowed his brows.
"Yes," Dr. Ruben flipped another page on his holopad, then glanced back up in irritation when Ace didn't leave.
"Miss Vee Yue Kaveechee has been arrested under the pretenses of having force abilities and being suspected of jedi affiliation,"

Ace's heart beat ceased.

Fierfek!

Before he had time to think about it, Ace's arm struck out. In one swift movement he'd slapped away Ruben's holopad, sending it clattering to the floor, and snatched ahold of Ruben's shirt collar to jerk him forward.
"You did this, didn't you, you slime ball!" Ace snarled.
"Let go of me right now or I will have you thrown out of this medical center," Ruben wheezed back.
"I was planning on going anyway," Ace hissed, "So you tell me where the've taken Vee and maybe I won't break your nose," he threatened, jostling the doctor around once more.

Ruben tensed, considering Ace's words very carefully before speaking.

"The shock troopers have taken her to the Silcal Prison where she will be held until her trial," he responded.
"When is this trial?" Ace questioned, squeezing the collar of Ruben's shirt a bit tighter.
"I don't know,"
"Don't lie to me!" Ace roared.
"I don't know," Ruben snapped. Ace's brown eyes burned with fury. With one quick shove, the clone pilot sent Ruben stumbling back into the nearest wall. Ace could have walked away and left things at that, but Ruben had been on his nerves for far too long. In the next instant, Ace delivered a cracking blow with his hard fist into Ruben's nose, effectively knocking the man senseless. Only when blood began to dribble out from the doctor's nostrils did Ace turn to walk away.

He had to go gather his things from out of his room and he had to figure out what the heck he was going to do...

...

Riding in a police cruiser was nothing like what I had expected it to be after watching so many action-adventure holovideos. I'd never felt so much anxiety rolling around in the pit of my stomach before. These shock troopers did not make for quite as jolly company as the clones I was used to casually joking around with in the medical facility. Their striped red and white helmets hid their faces and therefore maintained a supremely cold facade of indifference towards me. Despite myself, I could not help but warily eye the large weapons they held in their hands so leisurely, expecting them to suddenly be aimed towards me.

It seemed with how often I had been around sick or injured clones in medical beds, I had completely forgotten how frighteningly intimidating they could be at their utmost best. They had been bred and trained to be cold hearted killers after all... And with that, my thoughts turned towards Ace. Where was he? Would he learn of what had happened to me? What would he do? I so longed to see him. I wished so badly that he was here holding me and comforting me. I just wanted all of this to go away!

Soon, the police cruiser arrived at its destination, and I was escorted out into the front of the prison. I stared at the massive iron clad walls and the force fields set up all around for security. The clones holding my arms ushered me forward and brought me into the front entrance where I was given a prison number, my information was taken down into their information system, and then I was escorted to the holding cells. There were numerous halls, and what was worse that all of them looked exactly the same. I was pretty sure that even if I did escape from my cell, (which would be a miracle in and of itself) I wouldn't be able to find my way out of this crazy maze building anyway!

The cell was small, only 7 feet in width and 10 in length. There was a metal bench that I suppose they expected you to use as a bed, and then cold iron floor. The door had one force field window and was very tiny, presumedly to exchange meals in and out of. I sighed when I was left to myself and the door was closed and locked behind me. Everything about these circumstances terrified me, and the worst part was that I was not sure what was going to become of me. Sinking down onto the hard metal bench I coupled my face with my hands and attempted to hold back tears.

Just when I thought my life was going to start improving, something like this had to happen!

...

Ace was frantic. Luckily, he always thought the sharpest when he was on the peek of desperation. Vee was the best thing that had ever happened to him, and he couldn't loose her. He just couldn't. He loved her too much and he had put far too much thought into the future he so passionately desired to spend with her.

As soon as he had cleared out his hospital room and stuffed all his belongings in his pack, Ace donned his helmet and strode out into the hall.

From now on, he would be operating out of the ship he'd just bought as home base. He needed to disappear completely from the clone ranks. How? He had no idea. Aside from running away, his records would all still dictate that he was receiving treatment at this facility. If any one ever came looking for him and found him missing, they'd no doubt find it suspicious and look into it. However, just as he began trying to think these things through, a familiar Kaminoan turned the corner.

"Commander Ace," Administrator Nala Se addressed in her slow, soothing way, "I have just been informed of what has transpired regarding Vee Yue Kaveechee's arrest. It was most alarming," she stated.
"She's innocent," Ace said quickly, "She's in no way guilty of the charges pressed against her,"
"I suspected as much," Nala Se replied calmly, "Good luck with her extraction,"
Ace blinked in complete surprise at the administrator's foresight. It was absolutely astonishing how fast those stoic creatures could pick up on emotions and intent when they themselves never demonstrated such things.

"Uh... thanks," he said. Nala Se nodded slowly. It was that next moment that an idea occurred to the clone commander.
"Is it possible... that you would be willing to preform a favor for me?" Ace inquired carefully. Nala Se stood silently for a long moment.

"It would depend on the nature of this favor," she responded at last. Ace swallowed, but firmed his resolve.
"I need to disappear. Entirely. It's the only way Vee and I are going to ever have a normal life," Ace explained, hoping his voice didn't come across as too desperate. Nala Se was silent for another long moment. Then...

"Would falsifying your death on your medical records be of any assistance?" she inquired. Ace couldn't help the smile that broke out on his face.

"Very much.." he replied.
"Then it is done," she responded. Ace nodded in return.
"I'm extremely grateful," he assured. Glancing to his Hud's time display, Ace saw he should get moving. Every second that ticked by was being wasted. He turned down the hall and hurried towards the exit, readjusting the strap of his pack over his shoulder.

He was nearly at the exit when a clone stepped in his way and they clashed shoulders.
"Watch it," Ace snapped.
"Watch it yourself," the clone snapped back. It was in that second that Ace realized who it was.
"Jar?"
"Yeah, what's it to you?" Jar questioned. Ace removed his helmet quickly.
"Member me?" Ace asked. Jar's scowl formed into look of surprise when recognition hit him.
"Oh it's you," Jar responded, his scowl reforming the next moment. What was his problem? Whatever, Ace didn't have time for this.
"What are you doing here?" Ace questioned.
"I came to say hello to Vee since I was too busy to come yesterday with the others," he informed.
"She's not here," Ace replied shortly. Jar spent a moment sizing him up, his eyes critical and searching before saying,
"I heard you and Vee are together now... I suppose I should say congratulations and-,"

So that's why Jar was acting so sour... None the less, this was serious.

"Yeah, yeah that's great- thanks, listen we have a situation here," Ace interrupted, causing Jar to frown deeper. However, his expression altered to sheer shock when Ace said his next words...

"Vee has been arrested..."

"What?!" Jar burst, "What happened?!" he demanded.

"I wasn't here when it all went down, but what I do know is that Vee was arrested because of her force healing abilities. They think she's a jedi," Ace replied levely, "I'm leaving now to form some sort of a plan to get her out of their custody," he stated, now walking past Jar and into the busy Corscaunt streets.

"Wait!" Jar called rushing after him, "Are you insane?! You can't possibly hope to infiltrate a prison!" he snorted.

"Well I'm sure as hell not going to sit around and twiddle my thumbs," Ace spat back, continuing to walk through the crowd. Vee was locked up in some cell right now, probably scared out of her mind, and he didn't have time to stand around arguing his sanity with some jar headed clone right now.

None the less, Jar kept up, refusing to leave Ace alone.

"Look, I care for Vee too-" he said, earning a quick glare from Ace that stopped him in his tracks.
"Not like you of course-" Jar corrected himself quickly. Darn right.
"But you have to see this situation is not one you can simply storm into and solve," Jar stated.
"Wanna bet? Nothing is going to stop me from getting her back. She's innocent and I'm not going to risk her future because I was too scared to take a risk! I'm a commander! That's what I do for a living!" Ace declared, charging past people. Jar sighed hopelessly, keeping stride with him.

"Alright, alright I get it," the techie conceded, "Then the least you can do is let me make a call..."

Ace stopped abruptly to shoot a questioning glare at him.
"Crash, Dral and Cutlass are definitely going to want in on this..." Jar explained, donning his own helmet. Ace ground his jaw. He didn't like the idea of working with this punk of a clone, but if it meant he'd get to have a team, thus increasing the chances of saving Vee... then so be it. Ace slid on his own helmet, nodding.

"Very well,"
