Happily Ever After
Chapter 14
Back on Tracy Island Scott was in Jeff's office trying to catch up on some paper work. As he was working he was attempting to come up with a way of breaking the news to everyone about his fathers delay. While Scott was doing some thinking John, Gordon and Alan walked in after returning from TB5.
"Okay Scott what's going on?" Alan said as he wandered towards his eldest brother.
"I just had a call from Dad telling me that he is going to be delayed getting back here."
"What happened?"
"Robyn took another attack and was rushed to hospital. I haven't heard how things are but Dad said that he would keep us updated with what is going on." The concern that flowed through the room was evident.
"I really hope the Robyn is okay, over the past year or so I have been finding myself getting really close to her. When she fell into the pool I nearly had a heart attack." Gordon couldn't stop his mind going back to that awful day.
Flash back in Gordon's point a view
While I was just relaxing by the pool after doing my laps, I didn't know that Robyn had wondered down on her own. When I first saw her something made me think that one of her parents was down with her. I was in the middle of packing up my swim gear when I heard a splash. At first I didn't think anything of it but when I looked over and saw a small body in the pool. I hit my panic button on my watch.
"Gordon what's up?"
"Alan call the others and tell them that Robyn has falling into the pool. I am going in after her." I said to Alan not giving him a chance to answer, I jumped into the pool and pulled her out. When I pulled her out I discovered that Robyn wasn't breathing so I had to do CPR. When I got Robyn back I picked her up and ran to the sick bay with her. I got lucky because Tin-Tin was in there tidying the place up.
"Gordon what happened to Robyn?" She said as she sprinted over towards us.
"Robyn was down by the pool on her own Tin-Tin and fell in; her parents are going to be so mad once they find out."
"Okay let's get Robyn onto a bed and take a look." Once we got Robyn onto a bed I had stayed with her until she came round, I didn't dare leave her. What I didn't expect was for Virgil to start yelling at me but Robyn made sure that Virgil came to talk me. Once we had made up we took Robyn's teddy bear to her. A few hours later Robyn was back to her normal cheeky self but this day would be forever burned in my memory.
End Of flash back
"Gordon are you still with us?" Asked John who had noticed that Gordon had gone into his own world.
"Yeah sorry guys I was just thinking back to when Robyn fell into the pool." Feeling a comforting hand on his shoulder Gordon turned to face his youngest brother.
"Gordon Robyn still thinks that you are the cool uncle, she can tell you anything. You always seem to be there when she has nightmares if Jo and Virgil aren't here." Gordon smiled, appreciating the kind words. "I feel kind of bad in a way because I haven't spent as much time with Robyn like you guys. What if I don't ever get that bond with her?"
"Alan you will get the bond, it is just taking you a little longer. If I remember righty you helped Robyn find her teddy bear then read her a bedtime story before bed. Al you are a great uncle we can all see that." said Scott. He didn't quite understand the reason why Alan had trouble bonding with Robyn but he had no doubt that they would get there eventually.
"You think so Scott?" Before he could answer the phone rang. Shooting his brother an apologetic glance Scott picked up the phone. He really couldn't help but feel sorry for his younger brother who hasn't had it easy the last year.
"Jeff Tracy calling Scott Tracy, come in Scott."
"Hey Dad how is Robyn?"
"She isn't good Scott; the doctors have decided to put a tube down her throat to help her breath for 24 hours. Virgil is in bits and I don't how he is going to manage to tell Jo that Robyn could be in a coma." The room was eerily silent as the boys took in their fathers words.
"Dad where is Jo, shouldn't she be with Virgil at the hospital?" asked John.
"She was with your Mother who took her back to the apartment. She didn't want Jo going into early labour because of what just happened. If I know your sister-in-law she will be at the hospital by the time I am done with this phone call. Scott could you call Penny and let her know what is happening and tell her where we are? Jo might need her if anything goes wrong." Scott could just hear the worry in his fathers voice.
"Dad do you still want one of us to fly over and get Holly and Laura?" Somehow that piece of information had managed to stay in his brain.
"That would be great Scott if one of you could fly out to get them."
"Dad why don't you and Mom stay where you are, it sounds like you may be needed there and we can manage for a couple of days. Just make sure that both Virgil and Jo are okay before coming back here." Right now nothing else mattered.
"We will John, in fact do you mind flying over for your sisters?"
"No problem I will be with you in a few hours."
"Okay boys well I better go and check on your brother, give my love to your Grandma."
"We will Dad, speak to you soon." Hanging up the phone Scott could feel a weight settling in his stomach. John quickly went to get TRACY 2 ready in order to get Holly and Laura. With Gordon being close to Robyn he walked out of the office and went for his swim.
"Alan could you go after Gordon while I give Penny a call to tell her what has happened? Once I have done that then I'll go and check on John to see how he is doing with this. Those two are really close to Robyn…we would all be lost without her."
"I just hope that nothing happens…you know the way Dad was saying it, you would think that he wanted this to happen." said Alan. Staring in shock at his younger brother it took Scott a moment to reply.
"Alan Dad is worried like this rest of us; I don't think that he would wish that on anybody, especially not on a little girl."
"I guess Scott." said Alan as he walked out of the office, as he was leaving he turned back. "Thanks for being so understanding."
Once everyone had gone, Grandma walked in with a coffee. It didn't take a minute to realise that Scott had something on his mind.
"Scott what's wrong?" After all this time he didn't question how his grandmother knew but somehow she did.
"I really don't want to worry you Grandma but…" He trailed off, unwilling to say the words again.
"Go on Scott." said Grandma as she folded her arms across her chest.
"Virgil and Jo were having something to eat when Robyn went into another attack. It's so bad that Robyn had to be rushed to hospital."
"Scott I can tell by the look on your face that there is more to this." Once again he didn't question how she knew but deep down he was glad she did. He couldn't have said this in front of his brothers but he couldn't stop the thoughts.
"Robyn had to get a tube down her throat to help her to breath for 24 hours; Dad said that Virgil is in bits over it. I just have this awful feeling Grandma. What if we lose Robyn?"
"Scott Robyn will pull through this, after all she is a Tracy and we don't give up that easily." Wrapping her eldest grandson in a hug she pulled back. "Well you boys will need your strength so I'm going to get dinner ready. Keep your spirits up."
"I will Grandma, there am only going to be you, me and the boys for dinner. Johnny is flying out to get both Holly and Laura from the main land." Grandma stilled instantly.
"Are you telling me that Holly, your brother's younger twin sister is still alive?"
"Yeah Holly made contract with Mom after Dad had given her up. We also have a younger sister called Laura who is 12 years old." The shock on Grandma's face was clear.
"How come I didn't get told about any of this?"
"I don't know Grandma it just slipped my mind, I would have told you."
"Were your Father and Mother going to bring them here?" asked Grandma with hope in her voice.
"They had planned too but with everything that has happened Dad asked if someone could call out and get them. I also told Dad to take his time getting back. I feel as if he and Mom will both be needed over there just in case. Anyway I need to call Penny and let her know what is going on." He felt bad just dropping the news on his grandmother but right now he needed to get organised.
"Okay Scott I will talk to you later."
"This is Scott Tracy calling Lady Penelope come in Lady Penelope."
"Hello Scott dear what can I do for you?" The British accent came through the phone and for a moment Scott hesitated.
"I have some really bad news for you."
"What is it Scott?" Taking a breath Scott delivered the news.
"It's Robyn, she had another attack. It's pretty bad. The doctors have put a tube down her throat for 24 hours to see if they can help her to breathe."
"Scott where are her parents?" Although her voice remained calm the concern there was clear.
"Virgil is with her at the hospital and Mom took Jo back to the apartment because she didn't want Jo going into early labour with everything that has happened." Although he understood his mother's reasoning Scott knew that Jo should be at the hospital with her daughter.
"Believe me when I tell you this Scott your Mother will not stop Jo from going to that hospital. I bet Jo is there now waiting on Robyn waking up."
"Thanks Penny we are all a little worried but I am sure that Robyn will be fine." He said the words but the dark thoughts still plagued his mind.
