Chapter 13:
The Fourth Cycle
Son Goku looked down at the street below him from his position on a nearby rooftop which stood directly in front of the UNO building where the international conference was being held. Next to him were none other than Black Zetsu and White Zetsu, the duo currently attached to each other at the moment.
"So this is what father wishes me to do."
The trio looked at the many guards that were guarding the perimeter of the building. Which was really pointless since both Isshin and Yoruichi had been able to sneak in like it was nothing. It spoke of the shinigamis' skills, though. It wouldn't be long before Naruto arrived as well. But that was because of Ken's newly acquired powers.
"Yes, it is." It was Black Zetsu who answered the bijuu's question. "You should get started. Isshin and Yoruichi should have run into some resistance by now."
Son Goku looked at the guards for a few more moments in silence, wondering why Naruto would leave a small task to him of all people, or bijuu….whatever. Point was that his skills would have served much better with the main confrontation. Not creating a major ruckus outside. The White Zetsu clones were enough to handle that. With him, it was just overkill.
'Oh well. I did say that I would do anything that was required of me. And I guess this is it. Better get to work.'
Without a word, the red headed man was covered in lava in an instant. He jumped down a moment later, landing on the ground in front of the UNO building. The guards were quick to take notice of him as well. And how could they not? A man covered in lava wasn't something that anyone could miss easily, or at all.
"What in the hell is that!" screamed one of the guards in French. His companions had no response to which to answer him with. They could only stare at the new arrival in bewilderment.
Son Goku crouched down, gazing at all the men in the area before running forward towards at a speed that none of the guards could keep track of. After all, they were normal humans. They had no training whatsoever when it came to dealing with shinobi. Needless to say, it was a slaughter fest after that.
Back on the rooftop, both Black and White Zetsu looked at the massacre that was taking place in front of them. Neither of them would call what was happening down there a fight. It was way too one sided for that to be the case.
"Are your clones ready?"
White Zetsu had his infamous grin as he answered, "Yep. They are. As soon as the Watch goons show up, they'll make their appearance. Although….."
"What?"
White Zetsu's grin faded from his face as he continued, albeit slower than usual. "The Yonbi recreation does seem to find this all weird. Maybe we should have told him why Naruto really put him to do this. I mean-"
"Shut it! It was your own damn fault for trying to keep secrets from us! And Kushina's as well. But what is done is done. If they really do show up, which Naruto suspects they do, then the Yonbi should be enough to keep them at bay until either Isshin or Yoruichi can return for support."
White Zetsu fought back the urge to flinch at his other personality's harsh tone. Not that he could blame him. He had tried to lie to him, after all. And Naruto as well. But they couldn't fault him completely! Kushina was the one behind it all! And she was damn scary too. Almost like a different version of Mikoto. The two could have definitely been sisters all right.
White Zetsu was brought out of his thoughts as Black Zetsu continued, "Now c'mon. We have battles to watch."
That brought White Zetsu's grin back on at full force.
"Hehehe. I just hope they're interesting! Let's see what the two shinigami are made of!"
With that, the two sunk into the ground completely, leaving behind the horde of screams and wails from the street below as Son Goku carried on with what he thought was his part in this mission.
Naruto smirked as he saw a look of irritation pass through the one man that he hated most right now. It just made all of this so much sweeter. And maybe he really was turning into a sadist. Oh well. Who cared anyway?
The Watcher clenched his teeth, taking in a small breath to compose himself. He wouldn't let the brat have the grand satisfaction of seeing him irritated.
"The whole world our audience you say?" he repeated in a calm tone after having gotten his irritation in check. "Just how much of a fool are you going to be, Uzumaki? Especially with that grand entrance of yours. In front of the world leaders nonetheless."
Naruto's laughter prevented the man from continuing. The world leaders could only watch in wide eyes as the unknown silver haired man burst into laughter. But the Chairman did call him Uzumaki. And they were able to recognize Kushina as well, despite the skin tight black military getup she was in. So did that mean that THIS was the famous Chairman of Uzumaki Inc. that never showed his face!? Then again, none of the Chairmen in the past had done so either. Which meant that they were finally coming face to face with the current infamous Chairman of Uzumaki Inc. But none of that explained just how in the hell he was able to come out of that vortex earlier. Or the sword he was carrying.
The Watcher clenched his teeth for a second time. "What's so funny, Uzumaki?"
Naruto held his side with his freed hand. Even though he had his rinnegan activated, everyone was still able to tell that they were filled with mirth.
"Hahaha what I find so funny, my dear Chairman, is that you actually think that I give a rat's ass if these idiots know who and what we are. I thought I told you: caring is too much of a hassle. You taught me that. It's about time that we stop with these charades. We're not going to hide any longer. We've done that for far too long. And again, I have you to thank for that. So I guess you could say this whole day is my thanks to you for opening my eyes."
The Watcher had to narrow his eyes at that. But before he could say anything, the King of Saudi Arabia beat him to it.
"I don't know what you two are talking about, but I don't care! You have to pay for the shame you have brought upon us! For killing my father!"
Naruto looked at him for a moment before raising an eyebrow in confusion. "And just who the hell are you? And why are you blaming for killing someone who I have no idea you're talking about?"
That only served to infuriate the young King even more as well as the other world leaders.
"You know what you did!"
"You can't lie to us!"
"It's time you pay for what you've done!"
Those were some of the things that the world leaders began to scream at Naruto and his group, quickly changing from a confused group of men into an angry mob. Save for the President of the United States of course. He was still in too much shock to speak. Of course, this only served to make the Watcher grin in satisfaction. Naruto had made a mistake in coming here alright. At least, for him. For the Watcher, it only served to accelerate his plans even more. It was glorious!
Naruto looked at the newly formed angry mob of the world leaders with a look of disdain. Not that he should have expected any better. But it was still annoying. And disappointing.
'Looks like he's got them where he wants them,' thought Kushina as she observed all of this, as well as the pleased look on the Watcher's face.
Fuka had an unreadable look on her face as she stood next to Ken who was looking at the mess in front of them with an uninterested look. At this point, the affairs of this world that he now classified as useless were of no importance to him. He was only here for one thing only. And he was impatient for it to start.
Naruto sighed as he shook his head. "You really are idiots. All of you. Then again, I also did fall for the crap this guy puked out of his mouth in the past. So maybe I shouldn't talk too much….."
"And yet, we both know that you're not going to."
Naruto kindly ignored the talking sword…..even if it was right.
"I'm not interested in anything you have to say!" screamed the King in hot fury. "You'll soon be put to death!"
Naruto raised an eyebrow at the declaration. "Oh? And isn't this suppose to be a peace summit? Putting someone to death is hardly what I call peaceful. Wouldn't you agree?"
"We're past that point," declared the Russian President from somewhere in the crowd. "Especially with this superior attitude that you're showing."
Naruto had a thoughtful look for a moment, pondering what he meant for a moment before chuckling. "Superior attitude? Well, I guess you're right about that. But tell me something…..are any of you better? All of you who hide behind politics as you try to kill one another, time after time. No matter what excuses you make, land, money, resources, revenge, it's all the same. It's because of your silly little pride. Because you're trying to show the world you're superior than everyone else."
"And who are you to lecture us about this? You who killed-"
"I didn't do any of that, you idiots!" Naruto screamed after having reached his limit. "I thought it should have been obvious by now!"
"Don't think you can lie to us now, Uzumaki! The proof is all-"
"You have no proof," interrupted Kushina as she walked to stand directly next to Naruto. Shaking her head, she continued, "All you have is the lying words of one of the biggest tricksters in the world. The same man who claims to be a friend of yours when he's really the exact opposite. Especially with what he plans on doing."
All of the world leaders, save for the King of Saudi Arabia, began to slightly calm down.
"You can't lie to me!" he screamed out as he pointed at them. "No matter what you say! That Mitarashi woman….she's all the proof that we need to know that you people were behind the assassination of my father!"
Ken turned his gaze to the man when he heard Anko's name. He didn't bother to recognize the fact that the man could speak English.
Up on the booth where the devices that each of the world leaders had on their ears were monitored, two White Zetsu clones were currently in command after having knocked out the rest of the staff that were supposed to have been in charge. They were letting know every world leader know exactly what was being said.
Down below, Naruto's demeanor changed when Anko's name was said. "And just because of that, you'll believe anything that bastard tells you? Even though he's the one that killed her and put her body in the palace that night?"
A new wave of shock came crashing down all the world leaders as soon as Naruto said that. This went against everything the Chairman had been telling them before. The President of the United States came out of his stupor as his ears transmitted to his brain what Naruto had just said.
"What!" he exclaimed with wide eyes, bringing the attention of everyone else to him. "Y-you mean that he-"
"That's right, boss," Ken said with a half grin, especially when he said boss when that was far from the case now. "You were tricked, just like the rest of us were."
The President looked at him with wide eyes. "Ken….you….."
Ken shifted his gaze to the other world leaders, his right sharingan eye spinning as he spoke. "Listen to me, all of you. I'm a former CIA agent. And I don't know if the President told you this, but I was supposed to have been at this meeting today as the Chairman's bodyguard. Or one of them anyway. I've been inside his organization. I know exactly what he's trying to do. You could say it's one of the reasons why I wasn't here today until now. You should also know that the President is innocent. He had nothing to do with what you're all accusing him of. He's merely the scapegoat the Chairman is trying to use to cover up his tracks. And you're all going along with him. Especially you." He said the last part while looking at the King who was looking right back at him with slight anger.
"How can we believe what you're telling us? We need-"
"Proof?" Naruto finished with a frown. A second later, a grin started to form on his face. "I think you're all misunderstanding something here. So I'll repeat myself for a third time: caring is a hassle. If you don't understand, then I'll clarify it up for you some more…..I don't care whether you believe what we're saying or not."
Shock spread to every single one of the world leaders save for a few. The Watcher narrowed his eyes as Naruto said that. Just what was the rinnegan wielder trying to say?
"Wha-what!?"
Naruto began to chuckle as he spoke, "Hahaha you heard me right. By the end of this day, what you all think won't matter. Because the supposed supreme power that you all think that you have will no longer be there."
Instead of shock, outrage began to spread throughout the world leaders. "Are you threatening us!"
"It doesn't matter who you think you are!"
"You've really crossed the line now!"
Naruto continued to chuckle, closing his eyes for a moment before he opened them and sending a shockwave throughout the room. Everyone in the audience, save for the Watcher and the jinchuriki, were sent flying back.
"I've had enough of all of your complaints!"
The Watcher frowned at the male Uzumaki's hostility. It was unexpected to say the least. And he couldn't have that. At least, not yet. He signaled for the Sanbi and the Gobi to attack the rinnegan wielder.
The Uzumakis and the former CIA agent were quick to react as Yagura and Han jumped into the air, heading straight for them. Or more specifically Naruto.
"Suiton: Haran Bansho!"
Both Yagura and Han were unexpectedly caught by a massive amount of water crashing down on them courtesy of Fuka who was now crouched down, her hands placed on the ground.
The world leaders who had been able to recover from the shockwave in time to see Fuka's technique watched with wide eyes. Just what the hell was going on here!?
The Watcher gritted his teeth in frustration. He didn't want the world leaders to know of the existence of chakra or god and all of that! At least, not until it was too late! But now all of it was starting to fall apart because of Naruto's repeated lack of restraint! Although, being able to keep the other world leaders in the dark had fell apart the moment Naruto and the others had arrived using that damn Uchiha's powers.
"Enough of this, Uzumaki! Do you even know what you're doing right now!"
Both Yagura and Han jumped back to land in front of the Watcher after having recovered from Fuka's attack. The floor in the room was now soaking wet, though.
Naruto sighed. "Just how long do you want me to keep saying the same damn thing? I would have expected that you would have gotten it by now."
The Watcher growled in anger. "Would you mind filling me in on it?"
Naruto looked at him with narrowed eyes. "We can both agree on the same thing: this current world needs to be fixed. But you really piss me off. You manipulated me and the others into doing what you wanted. It's why I'm here to finally end you and your plan. You won't be the one to bring this world into a new cycle."
The Watcher narrowed his eyes at him as well, his mind replaying what the Uzumaki had just said. A moment later, realization finally struck him. "You…..you're trying to take over!"
Naruto grinned at the response. "So you finally get it. Except that you got one thing wrong. I will take over. I'm going to usher in a new era! And destroy this one, just like I created it all those years ago!"
The Watcher t'ched at hearing this. Now, it all made perfect sense. But something that Naruto had said was bothering him. He decided to put it in the back of his mind for now, though. He had more important matters to take care of right now. Like making sure that his plans came to a fruition.
Glancing at the shell shocked leaders, the Watcher knew that Plan A was now a failure. They were in too much shock at what was taking place in front of them to even take any sort of action right now. Not only that, but with what Naruto was saying, then it wouldn't even matter if they did anything. The Uzumaki could just kill them all right now.
'Then I guess it's to my backup plan…..I didn't want to do it this way, but I guess I don't have any choice anymore. It's either that, or see all of my preparations be for nothing.'
And failure was NOT an option.
Calming himself, the Watcher said, "I admit, Uzumaki, you've caught me by surprise with your declaration. But you're too late. You had your chance in being the leader of this world. Now, it's my turn. And unlike you, it will come to pass."
A grin formed itself on the male Uzumaki's face. "Heh, you haven't been listening at all, have you? That'll be the last thing that'll happen, especially today. You've already lost, my friend. You just can't see it now. But don't worry. You will soon."
The Watcher merely t'ched at that before turning away from the silver haired Uzumaki. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the shaking forms of the world leaders. They really were completely useless to him now. It would be best if he left now so that he could execute his backup plan. At least, that was what he intended on doing. But a second later, the self proclaimed god found himself unable to use his teleportation power, his one and only true power.
'Just how is this-'
"I told you already….you've already lost."
The Watcher's eyes widened as Naruto's voice came from directly behind him. But he wasn't able to dodge the chakra enhanced kick that sent him flying through the door and into the hallways outside and finally crashing into a completely different room a good distance away.
Naruto glanced at the world representatives as they all backed away from him. Turning to look behind him, the rinnegan wielder saw the other jinchuriki beginning to make their way towards him.
'As much as I would like to free them myself, I have a bigger nuisance to take care of right now.'
The Uzumaki turned towards the now broken doorway and ran through it into the hallways outside to face the Watcher once and for all at a speed that the others couldn't keep track of.
Kushina looked at Fuka who was looking at her as well. The two redheads nodded before disappearing in an instant only to reappear in front of the jinchuriki before they could make their way to where Naruto and the Watcher were.
"Sorry about this," Kushina began, only actually feeling half sorry, "but we can't let you interfere in that battle. We will be your opponents."
Fuka simply stared at the five remaining jinchuriki, preparing herself for battle.
For their part, the jinchuriki retained their dull look. A moment later, however, red chakra began to surge into life from them each.
Kushina reached into one of her pockets, pulling out a scroll as she did so. Her sword from long ago appeared in her hands in a poof. Tossing the scroll outside, the redhead also prepared herself.
'It's been a while since I've last used kenjutsu in battle. But it doesn't matter. I'll have to do with the practice that I was able to put in.'
Looking at the jinchuriki, Kushina knew that she was about to get in one of the toughest fights of her entire life.
Near the back of the room, the world leaders were a shaking mess. Just what the hell were these people! And the Chairman….had he been killed!? But as much as they had declared themselves to be good friends with the man, none of them were thinking about going to the man's rescue. Not after what they saw Naruto do. No way in hell. They were about to make a run for the door but found their path blocked by none other than Ken.
"Y-you!"
Ken looked at them with a pure emotionless look. "Sorry, but I can't let you leave. Uzumaki wants you all to be safe and sound for what he has planned out for you."
"Ken!" the President of the United of the United States shouted as he stepped in front of the crowd. "I'm ordering you to stand down this instant!"
The former CIA agent smirked darkly at him. "Order me you say? Have you gone senile or what? The CIA no longer exists, remember? Not after Anko died. And even if it did, I'm no longer a part of it. I owe nothing to you, especially after you sent me to my death. Farewell. I doubt we'll see each other again."
The other leaders watched in horror as the President was consumed in a vortex. Ken turned to the other men with said men backing away from him in pure fear. They could only scream as each one of them was consumed into Ken's new jutsu.
Back in the rooftop of the UNO building, another battle was already taking place. Two blurs could be seen as they clashed with one another all throughout the rooftop. One of the blurs was Yugito. The other was none other than Yoruichi.
The two women clashed in midair once again, Yoruichi's fist coming in contact with Yugito's elongated nails. The purple haired shinigami gritted her teeth in slight pain as they both pulled back, landing on the ground below in front of each other.
'Like I thought before, she's really fast,' thought Yoruichi as she looked down at her knuckles that were slightly bleeding from coming in contact with Yugito's claws which had even pierced her gloves. 'All of these guys seem to have weird powers,' she added before shaking the thought away.
Yugito simply looked at her with lifeless eyes, her one tail wagging behind her. It was the only thing that reminded Yoruichi that the woman wasn't dead. Well technically, she was. Whatever. It was too damn complicated to be thinking about that now too.
Crouching down, the blonde jinchuriki prepared herself to reengage her enemy. Seeing this, Yoruichi had to grin. The woman was impatient alright. But then she wondered if maybe that was just the beast that was sealed inside of her or the one that was controlling her.
'Like it matters!'
Before Yugito could react, the dark skinned woman disappeared in another blur. But unlike before, Yugito couldn't follow this blur. A moment later, Yoruichi was in front of her, sending a very powerful kick to the blonde woman's gut which sent her flying to the other side of the rooftop and nearly sending her over.
Yoruichi grinned to herself. 'Now, let's see how well you can handle my Shunpo, shinobi!'
Yugito was quick to get back to her feet, but it proved to be fatal as she found herself in the receiving end of a precise barrage of kicks and punches, all of which caused much damage to her. The former Kumo shinobi stumbled back after the barrage had been finished, her face twisted into a pained expression.
"Now you show emotion eh!"
Yugito looked around, trying to figure out where Yoruichi was.
"I'm right behind you!"
Less than a second later, Yugito was sent flying once again into the other side of the rooftop, this time crashing into the stairwell from before and creating a cloud of dust and debris to form.
Yoruichi had a small grin as she stood in the spot where Yugito had just been, her leg stretched out which she had just used to send the blonde jinchuriki flying.
"Sorry, but no one can match me in speed. Not even you."
Retracting her leg back into position, Yoruichi began to walk towards the stairwell where she had sent Yugito crashing into, the small cloud of dust starting to recede.
"Nezumi Kedama!"
Yoruichi's eyes widened as out of the debris came what looked like a mouse on fire. Gritting her teeth, the shinigami dodged to the side, only for the attack to come flying back around and separating into different smaller ones.
'It's like it's tracking me!'
Seeing no other alternative, the shinigami changed her course of her action: instead of trying to run away from them, she would face them head on.
Using her mastery in Shunpo, the female shinigami waited for the last possible second. In an instant, she disappeared from her position in front of the attack, leaving only an after image behind. The guided missle-like attack couldn't maneuver itself to track the dark skinned woman again. The result? It impacted with the ground.
Yoruichi whistled from the air as she saw the big explosion, having had jumped at her top speed at the last second.
Landing a few feet from the smoke, the shinigami realized just how painful it would have been if that attack had hit her.
'Note to self: stay away from the burning mice.'
Turning around, the woman had to raise another eyebrow as she saw a wave of lava appear out of nowhere from the street below.
'What the hell? Is that the old beard man doing that? But who could he be fighting?'
A moment later, a large shockwave rocked the entire building. And she knew exactly what it was, especially since she saw a portion of the rooftop get blown to bits on the other side of where she was.
She wasn't able to dwell on this, however, as Yugito appeared from within the other side of the cloud of smoke, her claws ready.
"I've had it with those claws!" she screamed as she sidestepped the attack in an instant and grabbed Yugito's incoming wrist.
"Taketonbo!"
Yugito felt the wind being knocked out of her as she was violently flipped upside down in an instant, crashing on the ground on her back.
But Yoruichi wasn't finished yet. Not a second later, she was on top of the blonde jinchuriki, sending powerful punches which left the shinobi gasping for air.
'This is it!' Yoruichi thought as she continued with her power barrage of punches. 'That seal Naruto gave me….'
Flashback: Start!
"I want you two to handle at least one jinchuriki on your own."
The reaction was instantaneous.
"Are you out of your mind!" Yoruichi screamed in outrage. Pointing at the Uzumaki, she continued, "You may be able to handle those guys because of your powers. But as you already saw with Isshin, our attacks don't have any permanent effect on them! They'll just keep on regenerating."
Isshin, who was standing next to her, nodded in agreement. "She's right, Naruto. The old man you brought back, I fought him. I was even able to cut his body, but he regenerated them in an instant. It'll just be a waste of time."
Zetsu spoke up from his position next to Naruto, "We're well aware of that. It's why we're going to provide you two with the means to counteract that."
Yoruichi raised an eyebrow, intrigued by this. "And what would that be?"
White Zetsu grinned. "Some of Naruto's power of course."
Both shinigami's eyes widened. "What?"
Naruto nodded as he showed them two different seal tags. "This is something Kushina's been working on these past few days per my request. I've placed within each of these seals some of my own chakra which is the only thing that can keep the jinchuriki subdued."
"Subdued?" Isshin repeated. "So then it won't defeat them completely?"
"It'll keep them at bay, which is all that's needed," answered Black Zetsu. "The only weakness in this is if someone removes the tags. But considering what we're sure is going to happen, then no one should be left free to do that."
Both Isshin and Yoruichi took the seals from Naruto's hand, both inspecting them.
'This thing, eh?' she thought in slight wonder.
"There's an added effect too if things should get out of hands."
"Added effect?" she asked, looking up to meet Naruto's eyes.
The Uzumaki nodded. "Yes. We can't rule out the possibility that the jinchuriki might transform into their bijuu form. If it's too much for you to handle, then use these on yourself. You'll be ready then."
"Are you insulting our abilities?" Yoruichi said through gritted teeth. Isshin merely looked at Naruto.
Naruto shook his head. "That, I'm not. I know that you two are strong in your own right. Which is why I'm glad you're here to help us. This is just an added precaution. That's all."
Yoruichi didn't answer him. Instead, her eyes went back to looking at the seal in her hands.
Flashback: End!
Reaching to her back pocket, the purple haired shinigami was just about to tag the blonde jinchuriki once and for all when she was blown back in an instant.
Landing with a large thud on the ground, Yoruichi winced in slight pain as she rubbed her shoulders. Standing back up, her gold colored eyes widen in shock as a red pillar of swirling chakra began to consume Yugito's body.
The shinigami could only t'ch in irritation. She could only guess what was about to happen. And it was the last thing that she had hoped to happen.
'And here I thought I was going to end this quickly and link up with Isshin….nothing ever goes as planned.'
Through the wildly spinning chakra, Yoruichi was able to make out the newly transformed Yugito in her version two.
Yoruichi could only sigh at seeing this. Glancing at her back pocket, the purple haired woman considered using the seal that Naruto had given her on herself. But she shook that thought away. She didn't know what exactly that would do to her. Naruto hadn't been very specific, after all.
'I'll save that as a last resort,' she thought. 'If I need it anyway….'
Closing her eyes for a moment, Yoruichi focused on her reiryoku. 'I'm not particularly happy having to resort to this, but I guess I have no choice.'
It wasn't long before lightning started to crackle from Yoruichi's body, covering her almost in an armor of lightning of sorts. Opening her eyes as the lightning continued to crackle wildly throughout her body, Yoruichi locked eyes with the transformed Yugito's.
"Well then, shinobi, it looks like it's time to step this up to the next level. Wouldn't you agree?"
The only response she received was a low growl which started get louder and louder as the seconds passed.
Hearing this, Yoruichi grinned. "Yeah, I feel the exact same way. Let's finish this."
Taking a step forward, Yoruichi titled her head to the side for a moment with Yugito following suit. The two stared at the other for a few more moments.
Then, they finally pounced.
Inside the UNO building, yet another fight was occurring between two other different individuals. But this one wasn't like the previous one. This one was being settled with the sword. For the moment at least.
Isshin was having a hard time at the moment. He had faced many different kinds of opponents during his days as a shinigami captain. But none had surprised him as the man he was currently fighting. Well, Isshin wasn't sure he could even call the soulless body a man. But that was a different topic.
The ex-shinigami captain was currently trying to figure out the way that Bee's sword technique worked. So far, he had nothing. This could be shown true by the many different tears in his shinigami outfit as well as a few cuts along his arms and on his cheek. Meanwhile, Bee didn't have a single scratch on him.
'It's impossible to keep track of his movements with all of his swords,' Isshin thought as he held his katana in front of him. 'There's no pattern in his technique either. He's skilled alright.'
As much as he hated to admit it, which wasn't that much either, Isshin knew that if he kept this confrontation to a sword fight only, then he wouldn't emerge victorious. At least, not without some added assistance.
Concentrating on his Zanpakuto, Isshin muttered a single word. "Burn."
On the other side of the hallway, Bee lowered his stance slightly as he sensed something different about his opponent's sword now. This was proven to be true a few moments later as blue spiritual energy began to engulf the sword.
A small grin formed itself on Isshin's face as he readied his next technique. "Sorry about finishing our sword battle so abruptly, but it was inevitable. I can't afford to lose to you here today." The grin disappeared. "I have something very important to do."
But Bee didn't respond at all to what Isshin just said. It wasn't like he cared. Or rather, the bijuu in him didn't. Or couldn't for a better word.
Isshin raised an eyebrow as he noticed one of Bee's swords start emitting what looked like lightning.
'So he can do that, can he? It's like Yoruichi's technique, except he's using it on his weapons and not his body.' Interesting indeed.
Having waited long enough, Bee charged at his opponent, throwing the sword in which he had poured his lightning chakra nature into.
Seeing this, Isshin grinned again. "Heh, you'll have to do better than that!" he exclaimed as he brought his sword forward.
"Getsuga Tensho!"
Bee's incoming sword was destroyed into a million little pieces as it came in contact with Isshin's attack. As for Bee, the jinchuriki had no chance of escaping. The attack hit him dead on.
Isshin shielded his eyes as his attack began to spread out into a gigantic explosion, completely eradicating the building in which they were in. Or at least, the portion they were in. He still had the others to worry about. He didn't want them to be caught in the blast, especially Yoruichi.
'Maybe I should have held back a bit more…..'
But he didn't have time to waste on the jinchuriki. The main reason he was here was because of his daughters. He still needed to rescue them. And dammit, he was going to.
Reaching into one of his pockets, Isshin began to pull out the seal that Naruto had given him. He was certain that his attack would have caused major damage to the jinchuriki. Then, all he would need to do was head to the conference room and confront the man that had taken his daughters.
Walking forward, the former shinigami captain saw how his attack had completely obliterated the floors above him. The sun's light was now shining into down on him. Some of the floors below them had also been destroyed. Or maybe it was all of them as well? Isshin couldn't tell. The man was only glad that they weren't right under the conference room.
'Maybe I really should have held a bit more…..'
But that was about all he was able to hold back. 'Hopefully the building doesn't come crashing down too….'
That would just suck.
Looking around, the shinigami tried to find Bee's body only to find nothing. And he didn't have any time he could waste on a treasure hunt!
But he didn't have to. From somewhere down below, an octopus tail came straight at him, trying to wrap itself around Isshin's body. But the man was too fast for that.
Jumping back, he was able to dodge the octopus tail. 'At least he's still alive,' he thought as he landed and made for the octopus tail that was now acting like a hook for Bee. Just as Isshin was about to slice the octopus leg, he saw Bee being propelled up into the air.
He was too late to stop Bee from being able to get back up here, but not to cut the damn leg off. And he did just that. A quick slice, and the octopus tail was in two pieces. And without his anchor, Bee lost control of his propulsion and nearly crashed into the other wall. He was able to flip himself around in midair, though, landing on the wall on his feet and using chakra to stay on it.
Isshin sighed as he turned to face the dark skinned man who had eight, now seven, octopus tails coming out from his body. The shinigami narrowed his eyes as he saw this.
'Is he trying to transform already? And eight tails, eh. Looks like I ended up with one of the tougher ones. Just my luck.'
Gripping his sword harder, Isshin reminded himself that he needed to hurry. But he had just performed one of his stronger techniques on the jinchuriki, and he seemed fine!
'I guess I really can't hold back….'
But that meant that he needed to get out of the building first. He didn't want to jeopardize the others right now.
Bee looked down at the man, titling his head slightly to the right as if wondering why he wasn't attacking him. Grinning, Isshin decided to do that. He knew his Shunpo wasn't as fast as Yoruichi's, but it was going to be enough.
To Bee, the shinigami had been simply standing there one moment and the next he was gone in an instant. Needless to say, Bee wasn't prepared to defend himself as Isshin reappeared in front of him right before his eyes.
Isshin brought his head back, head butting the man in an instant. The force of the headbutt was enough to send Bee straight into the wall and into the streets outside.
Isshin landed back on the ground before jumping right again straight into the hole that the had just created. He now had unlimited space in which to fight in. And he didn't need to hold back either.
He was going to finish this fast.
Naruto had the Seikatsugakari on his shoulders as he felt the many different shakes happening throughout the building. Looking back, the Uzumaki had to admit that he was impressed if the sound of the different battles was anything to go by.
'They're certainly trying alright.'
"As they should. Everything is riding in on this."
Naruto merely turned his head back around to see the Watcher in the process of getting back up again after he had sent him kicking through many walls. That had certainly put the rinnegan wielder in a better mood alright.
Coughing as he stood up, the Watcher glared at one of the biggest banes of his existence. 'Just why can't I teleport out of here!? Who's blocking my abilities!? Naruto? No, even with the rinnegan, he doesn't possess such an ability. Then who!?'
Naruto grinned at seeing the man's look. "Now what's with that look? You've been messing with me this whole time. It's only fair that I get a little payback, isn't it?"
The Watcher gritted his teeth in anger. "You can't stop me, Naruto. You're far too late. Do you really think that with just having stopped this meeting that you've stopped it all!? Well, you're sorely mistaken! Everything will soon fall in its rightful place, with you at the bottom of my feet as I take up my role as a god!"
Naruto simply looked at him for a few moments before he shook his head. "And to think that I actually fell for your crap this whole time….makes me wish I could go back in time so that I could slap my past self."
The Watcher h'mphed at that. "Still with the childish talk? And here I thought that you wanted to become a ruler. That attitude of yours will certainly get you nowhere."
Naruto chuckled at the statement. "Hehehe, so sure about that, are you? Because as I see it, this childish attitude helped me take my revenge on Konoha all those years ago. And now, it's helping eradicate all the lies that you've been setting up. But most of all, it's helping me eradicate you."
"Just who do you think I am, boy?"
Naruto smirked. "Oh, I know what you are now, you damn messenger!"
The Watcher's eyes narrowed at hearing this.
Seeing this, Naruto continued to smirk. "Surprise, are you? Well, I was able to figure it out a little before with the help of a certain someone, but now I have all the pieces I need."
"How?"
Naruto shrugged. "Would you believe me if I said a ghost came to me in my sleep and told me everything?"
The Seikatsugakari chuckled at that. It wasn't far from the truth, after all. Not that the Watcher knew that.
The Watcher had a look of pure hatred at the moment. And it was all being directed at Naruto. "Don't take me for a fool! Nor will I stand here and listen to your pointless garbage!"
Naruto grinned at the reaction. "Seems like I hit a nerve, eh? I guess you don't like being reminded of what you are, especially with all that crap you sprouted to me in the beginning. But now, all of that is over with. Now, we can finally get started with the end. The end of this cycle!"
The Watcher narrowed his eyes at him. "Do you even know what you're saying?"
Naruto chuckled. "Oh, but I do. I'm not the same little ignorant brat you met last time. I have the answers I've been looking for. And just like you, I'm trying to do the same thing."
'To ascend,' the Watcher thought to himself.
Naruto brought his freed hand in front of his face, looking at it with a look pure of ambition. "It was through what happened that day that the third cycle began. And it didn't turn out to be any better than its predecessors. There's too much violence, too much corruption, too much darkness. But I guess that's unavoidable. There will always be darkness, no matter where I go. It's always there. It's why I've decided to take it as my ally to finally create order. I've had it with just standing on the sidelines. Those days are gone. It's why I'm here today, ready to finish you once and for all. And to create what shall become the fourth cycle of this world. Except unlike the previous ones, this one will last forever. And it will surpass the rest in all matters."
Oh how long the Watcher had waited for Naruto to say those words. To take up the mantle that he had created for him. But that was in the past. Now, the man only say the Uzumaki as a hindrance which needed to be taken care of. And unlike with Violet, he would not fail here today.
'I guess the saying is true. Want something done right, you have to do it yourself!'
Before the two could continue, however, clapping interrupted their confrontation.
"Bravo! Just excellent! This is what I've been waiting for! To see you at last, Naruto! With my own eyes!"
Naruto closed his eyes, knowing exactly who the person was now. The same could be said for the Watcher, if his irritated look was anything to go by.
Turning around, Naruto came face to face with the third addition to this party. It was none other than Violet herself. Not to mention that she currently had a big smile on her face, one filled with complete happiness. Needless to say, it totally went against the current atmosphere.
"Violet," the Watcher growled from his spot. But the girl wasn't paying any attention to him. No, her attention was completely focused on Naruto.
"So, Yoruichi wasn't able to handle you," Naruto said.
"The shinigami?" Violet shrugged. "I don't care about her. Or any of the other for that matter. I'm only interested in you."
Naruto didn't respond to her. Turning once again, he faced the Watcher who was looking at his "student" with pure irritation. "I'm guessing you didn't want her here."
The Watcher narrowed his eyes at Violet. "No. And she has failed me for the last time. I'll just have to do this on my own. I'll also be taking my power back."
That caused Naruto to laugh. "Hahaha! Don't even bother anymore! I already know it's not your power, you idiot! I thought you would have realized it when I told you that you're simply a damn freaking messenger for Kami! Who is the one to whom that power belongs to. Not you."
The Watcher growled in anger. "So I'm guessing you're the one who told him all of this, Violet?"
The purple haired girl finally stopped staring at Naruto. She began to walk towards the side of the empty room to which the confrontation had been brought into.
"I told him some things," she began as she stopped in her tracks, ending where both Naruto and the Watcher could see her. "But not everything. Not that it matters. You're no longer my master. So the fact that you're going to die here today doesn't affect me whatsoever. It's what I've been hoping for."
"What!"
Violet giggled into her hand. "Yes, I finally said it. I'm not on your side anymore. I haven't been on your side for a while now actually. Oh well. Not that it matters anymore. You were so concerned with making sure that everything else went perfectly that you took your eyes off of me. I guess maybe because you thought that I would never actually outright betray you like this. But oh well. Again, not like it matters at this point. All that does matter now is your death."
"Not exactly going like he expected, is it?"
The talking sword was certainly right on the money.
The Watcher finally reached his breaking point. He had enough. Naruto's interference had already put him in this bad of a mood, his revelation at knowing just what he was even more so. And now to hear this haughty brat insulting him!? It was unforgivable! Screw his backup plan. At least for now. He would need to take care of the two brats in front of him first before he could proceed with his plan without any further interference.
Violet grinned as she saw the air around the Watcher began to change. "Sad, isn't it? To think that you lost your disciple in this conflict. Not that I ever really was anyway. But that just goes to show how much you've failed."
Naruto sighed as he took a step forward, bringing the attention back to him. "I've had enough of you two. I don't care if you're working together or not. I'll still kill the both of you today."
Violet smiled brightly at him. "You won't be saying that by the end of today, Naruto. Soon, you'll see that being with me is the best way that you can achieve your goals."
"Enough oF THIS!"
Both Naruto and Violet turned to the Watcher whose appearance began to change. His hair started changing color into that of a dark red, almost crimson. But the most shocking to Naruto was that the man was soon enveloped in chakra. Said chakra manifested itself into clothing soon after: a full bodied black colored garment with black pants, gloves, and boots over a flowing white robe with six magatama markings across his chest and nine of them in rows of three on his back complete with the staff and the Truth Seeking Balls floating behind him.
For once, Naruto's eyes were wide. "T-that's…."
The Watcher had a sinister grin on his face as he began to flaunt his chakra in the room, creating massive gusts of winds.
"This is the power that I've gained after so long! The power of a god! And after I take your rinnegan and Violet's own power, I will finally be complete!"
'This guy,' Naruto thought in anger as he looked at the newly transformed Watcher. 'I didn't think he had the Juubi sealed in him already!'
"Yes. This a rather sudden change of event. I can only guess that he did what you did in the past: take some of the chakra from the bijuu, but not all of it. Unlike with you, though, it seems that the Juubi's power has had enough time to reach completion. This just got much harder for us."
Violet t'ched as she saw this. So it all came down to this. The damn Juubi's power. It caused way too many problems at this point.
But before their physical confrontation could began, another individual decided to join their little party.
All three of them looked up as an explosion destroyed a portion of the ceiling. And a second later, two new individuals landed into the room on the other side of the room, facing directly across from Violet.
It was none other than Ichigo in his shinigami gear and a black haired girl that Naruto didn't recognize. But the Uzumaki did have to grin at his arrival.
"I won't ask how, but you chose a hell of a time to join us, Ichigo."
'The third,' Violet realized. 'And he's regained his powers.'
"I had things to take care of," was the orange haired teen's reply. "Now where's the-"
"The bastard is right there," Naruto answered as he pointed at the Watcher with the Seikatsugakari. "He's changed since the last time you saw him, but that's him I can assure you. Then again, you've also changed."
Ichigo merely turned to face the man. As for the Watcher, he narrowed his eyes at the teen.
"Kurosaki Ichigo, is it. No matter. Even with him, this will all end in my favor."
Ichigo pointed his Zanpakuto at him. "I don't care what you plan on doing. It's the last thing on my mind right now. But you have two people in your hands that I will be taking back."
The floor underneath his feet began to crack.
"I'll be taking my sisters back."
Well, I'm back again. And a bit sooner than I expected too. Meh, it is what it is. I guess I just really want to finish this as soon as I could.
Anyway, the action finally begins! And there's more to come too. Hopefully you all enjoyed it. And that's all for me this time. I don't know when I'll update again, but hopefully soon enough.
Till next time.
