Chapter 13: Trouble Comes This Way
Luka pulled Gakupo into the living room, where almost everybody was hanging out. Kaito came out a moment later, shortly followed by a bewildered looking Lily. Kaito glanced at her and rushed upstairs. Lily staired after him for a moment, and then went and sat down on the couch between Merli and Galaco. Merli rose and approached Luka and Gakupo.
"You two holding hands? I'll take that as a good sign," she patted Luka on the shoulder. "It's about time."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Gakupo asked, confused. Merli smirked.
"Oh, come on! Everybody knows that you two have had a crush on each other for the last 4 years! I'm glad you're finally together." She walked away, and the new couple turned to look at each other, dropping their hands.
"That long?" Luka asked, blushing. Gakupo, nodded, also blushing.
"And you, too?" Gakupo asked shyly. Luka nodded.
"Yes."
"Oh." Gakupo scratched his head awkwardly. "If I had known, I would have… a lot earlier."
"Yeah."
"Luka." Said woman looked up at her crush. "I love you," Gakupo said. Luka blushed and looked down. She wasn't used to him being so blunt around her. She glanced back up into his beautiful blue eyes, and couldn't help but feel thrilled inside. This man that she had slowly fallen in love with more and more since the day she first set eyes on him was finally hers.
"I love you, too," she admitted, biting her lip. But when Gakupo leaned closer, her lips parted, allowing the two pairs of lips to touch for the first time.
"Are you sure, Peter?" Michaela asked, staring across the street at the girl walking there. She was humming a song and skipping along, her arms full of grocery bags.
"I'm positive," Peter replied. Behind him, Riana and Lucas were trying to get a peek.
"How do you know? I've never seen her before," Michaela argued.
"It's just something I know, Michaela," Peter replied. "She is definitely a Vocaloid though. I'm positive."
"Should we go for it?" Riana asked.
"Soon. But not yet."
"When?" Lucas asked. He had returned from the hospital a couple days ago with his memory restored. This was his first mission.
"I'll tell you when," Peter answered. He had become the leader of team quickly, despite the fact the Michaela had been there first. But Peter seemed to be a natural leader, and everybody listened to what he said anyways, because of the presence he held in the room.
"Lucas, Riana go behind. Follow her for awhile, but don't make it to obvious. Michaela, run up ahead and walk towards her. Pretend to bump into her. After that, Lucas and Riana run up and make sure she cannot get away. I'll be there to get her shortly after that. Understood?"
"Yes, sir!" the other three called. They all departed to their positions. When Peter saw them in position, he gave the signal, trailing the Vocaloid on the other side of the street. She really was oblivious.
There. Michaela "accidentally" stumbled into her, making both girls fall down. The Vocaloids' wig fell back slightly, revealing bright red hair. Michaela stared at in shock before standing up and beginning to help the girl pick up her groceries. It appeared as though she was apologizing profusely; but as soon as the girl turned her back, Michaela pulled her gun on her. Peter started making his way over, and Riana and Lucas pulled up, holding a gun to her head. The girl looked at both of them, and then froze. As Peter approached the group, he heard what Michaela was saying.
"You're a Vocaloid, don't try to deny it."
"I'm not a Vocaloid! What kind of Vocaloid would be stupid enough to be walking around in public? You've got it all… wrong…" the Vocaloid trailed off as Peter approached. "Piko? What happened to you?"
Peter ignored her, instead pulling off her wig, revealing her long hair and large cowlick. Her eyes widened, and then she looked around. "What's going on?"
"You are under arrest for the use of music," Peter answered. The Vocaloid stared at him.
"But I don't even have any recorded songs!" she exclaimed. She was breaking under the pressure.
"Unfortunately for you, you are, in nature, a Vocaloid, and Vocaloids were created to sing. So you are under arrest. Miki."
So? Review? Pretty please with Cherry Pies and Tuna Rolls on top? *Bambi eyes*
