I apologise for causing you worry, there was an incident at our camp site but I am entirely out of danger now. I am safe and relatively unscathed. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get to a computer or a phone to reassure you of my well-being so I sincerely hope you get this message before you risk punitive action by taking unauthorised absence.
My team and I have just recently been temporarily relocated to Ambon Island and from here, once able to; I will fly into Sydney, Australia - perhaps next week.
From there, I will organise our itinerary and email it through to you. You'll have to book a flight to Melbourne and then a connecting flight to Hamilton Island where I will meet you. I will arrange our accommodation and activities.
You may have already commenced your vacation in DC by the time I am able to reach a phone or internet again, Booth, so please don't worry with the lack of contact, I am fine and will ring you as soon as I'm able.
I was only able to send you this email because a kindly Australian tourist lent me his cell phone and satellite wifi so that I could log into my emails.
I miss you and I'm really am looking forward to seeing you.
