The light from the candles caused the room to sparkle beautifully, making the nations gasp from the breathtaking lights around them. Their eyes rapidly looked around the room, seeing amazing stain glass windows telling some unknown and elaborate story using symbolism.
A story that had to do with rows of different flowers all reaching to the sun. Their petals were bright and beautiful as they lived in the light. Then the glasses changed into darker images, showing the flowers being covered in darkness. Soon the sun returned, but was hidden by clouds as the darkness lingered among the dying blossoms. The sun soon began to break the clouds, and its rays began to rejuvenate the flowers; but the darkness still hid in the shade of the remaining clouds and leaves… Even though the glass art was beautiful there was a massive letdown at the final image…
Their eyes met an old dusty dark sheet that covered the finally, making their minds only guess what happened to the sun and the darkness. Their eyes wondered down, allowing them to see two beautiful thrones in the center of the room; yet only one was occupied.
England noticeably flinched when he made eye contact with the man who naturally occupied the seat. His own emerald eyes locked with fiery crimson ones, suddenly feeling fear bubbling in his stomach. He placed a hand on it, feeling it turn and toss under his own touch. It was like he was reliving lost memories as he looked into the eyes of the man, but he refused to back down.
"Excuse us, but we're looking for a friend of ours… We think he might be here," Germany said, trying to look stern as unknown people watched from the shadows. He felt uneasy as the darkness filled with eyes and smiles, causing him to feel vulnerable under their stares.
"I'm known as Germany, this is Italy, Japan, China, Fra-," Germany began to say before he was cut off by the man on the throne chuckling darkly. The nations were confused as the kingly figure, and the people in the shadows, laughed and cackled at them. They watches as the lights increased and they could now see the people that lurked once in the shadows.
"I know who the fuck you are… and what the fucking hell you want," the king said, soon standing up and pointing to a large window. The nations shifted and looked at whatever was outside, and they were amazed at what they saw.
"Look here, asshole! We're not here for ga-"Prussia was going off before was grabbed roughly by his brother, who ordered him to shut up.
"And how do you know us and what we want?" Russia asked, smiling innocently as the king turned to look at them. His eyes suddenly met the king's, though he soon felt chills run down his body. Russia pulled his eyes away, feeling oddly over powered by this mysterious man.
The king turned to the eyes and chuckled happily, motioning for the people to come in and be fully seen by the nations. This allowed the nations to see the people who mirrored them, and this allowed the nations to see the way the queen imagined them. It was spine chilling, but the nations held their ground against the being like them. While looking at the king, it soon roughly hit them…
The King looked a lot like the very nation they were looking for.
"England… I would never imagine that your fucking ass would ever show up here," The King said, glaring darkly at England. His mouth now a frown and his eyes now dark with such hate and anger. It shook them all, but none more than the nation he was glaring at.
"What the bloody hell are you're talking about?" England snapped back, narrowing his eyes as he started to battle the king with his eyes.
The King smirked again and turned to where a glass door was hidden by a curtain. He pointed to it, turning his eyes away from the nations. "Y'all are after him, and he is out there…" The king said as he motioned for them to go.
England was about to argue back, wanting to find out what the bastard meant; but France and Canada began to pull at England's body. Everyone felt a dark force whenever the king looked at them, so they quickly wanted get away from the man. They shivered as his eyes followed them to the door, and they quickly walked out to the stone patio.
The door slammed shut and they were stranded onto the stone patio, looking out at a large rose maze and a small white iron outdoor set. One that had three people occupying with a tray of colorful sweets and teas and a vase of the most beautiful roses ever bloomed.
They could not see who were the two older men were, but instantly they knew who the nicely dressed little boy was. It was hard to deny that the hair was like the sun and his skin like honey. His laugh was beautiful and echoed loudly into the sky. His young teen body glowing like a little moon, radiating beautifully in the rose garden.
"There's no way that that's him," Canada whispered very softly to France, whose eyes were wider than dinner plates. He was shock as he looked at the body of the young colony he watched being dragged away by the doctor.
The two older people listened as the little boy went on about beautiful things that would so wonderful in his incomplete world. The young boy was giggling and smiling as he kept imagining more and more that would help complete the emptiness in his world.
"-And there should be lots of yummy cakes and berries growing on trees! And then there should be a lake that tells stories!" Alfred exclaimed happily, his eyes wide with wonder as the thought of new wonders to exist.
"Oh, love, that would be absolutely wonderful… where would this lake be?" Arthur asked, sipping his sweet peppermint as he watched the child. Matthew only gave a grunt in acknowledgment and approval, causing the boy to smile brightly.
Suddenly the two men jerked their heads to the patio, seeing the group of men standing there and staring at them. There was silence until their lovely queen decided to acknowledge the visitors from the real world. The boy smiled happily before putting his tea and cake down.
"Hello!" Alfred chirped, causing Arthur and Matthew to twitch uncomfortably.
Why would the king allow these horrible beings into the garden? Why would he give them the chance to see their fragile queen?
"America, you bastard! You have a lot of explaining to do!" England snapped loudly, causing everyone to flinch in shock from the 'gentleman's 'outburst. No one expected the nation to yell that at America, especially since he was in the form as the young colony he once raised.
The adults glared at England until Alfred began to giggle happily and smiled brightly. His eyes sparkled darkly as he watched England moved closer and closer. Alfred's just sat there- that was until he felt something take hold of him- something dark.
"Why are you here?" Alfred asked, standing up and looking up at England- as if he was challenging England. Arthur and Matthew saw Alfred's shadow start to change into the creature they feared as much as they hated England.
"W-We're here to take you back, America," France butted in, pulling England back so he was in Alfred's line of sight. "I-I'm here to take you home," he said, opening his arms slightly.
The other nations looked in confusion as France opened his arms for Alfred to run into. The two mysterious men just watched, feeling as their queen's heart warmed up to the invitation from France. It was as if there was a small crack of light was seen in the endless darkness of Alfred's world. They could not feel that Alfred's mind was starting to fade into another place- their limbo.
'I want to be free' a voice said soothingly in Alfred's mind, causing the little boy to shiver in fear. 'Let's be free together.'
Alfred pulled away and walked to the mouth of the garden, making the roses start to grow twice their size. Soon the rose bushes began to lash upwards, forming a wall of thorn covered vines and three foot long roses. Soon the garden turned into an elaborate maze, stretching upwards a few stories. The sky began to change as well, which began to cause the nations look up in horror.
The once peaceful and beautiful sky turned into a murky waste with only a red moon to light the toxic clouds above them. The once red roses began to turn white and began to ooze a thick and smelly black goo. The two unknown men soon pulled out their own weapons, one with a set of knifes and the other with a solid metal hockey stick.
"If you want me… then you have to find me," Alfred said darkly, sounding like there were two voices. Both were mocking all of them, teasing them with the child's body as he moved into the maze.
The nations gasped and moved to find the boy, only to find that there was no trace of the boy. They were still in shock from what they saw, but they could not let America escape! They had to get back to their world!
The nations looked frustrated at each other, all of them feeling exhausted from their time in this hell. Obviously the Italians and Sealand were going to be tired, but China, Spain and Canada were also showing signs of sleepiness and hunger.
"AMERICA!" Germany called loudly, his voice echoing throughout the maze; but nothing answered him.
"This place is too big, there's no way we'll find that little brat!" Prussia hissed at his brother, crossing his arms and grumbling unhappily. There was soon a few minutes of silence before Japan perked up with an idea.
"Ah, those two who were with him… they should know where he is," Japan said, with caused everyone to turn to the entrance to call over the men; but there was no opening… It had closed up, and sealed them inside the maze.
"Aw shit…" Prussia groaned.
