Leo walked over after getting his backpack searched with a giant frown on his face. "I feel slightly violated" he said as he reached the group.
"Well, blame Scott. Perry caught him with weed in his backpack and now she's making it her mission to catch the rest of the potheads." Leigh explained as Bree appeared at Chase's side.
"Hey guys." Bree smiled as she fixed her clothes.
"Jesus, we need to put a bell on you." Leo stated.
"Seriously Bree, you have to cool it on the super speed, some one could see you." Chase said sternly.
"No one ever sees me." Bree pointed out. "You didn't see me swipe your lunch money." She said with a smile as she held up the the small wad of cash as Chase felt at his pockets.
"Hey!" Perry yelled at the group, catching their attention. "How did you get past my checkpoint?" She asked as she looked at Bree. "I thought i sent you to the back of the line." She added.
"That wasn't me." Bree told her with a nervous smile.
"Must've been someone else." Chase added before Perry's eyes migrated towards Leigh and Adam's intertwined hands.
"And i thought i told you two to cool it with the PDA!" She yelled as she shoved the two apart. Leigh rolled her eyes as Perry glared at her.
"Alright missy, you earned a locker search!" Perry yelled.
"Excuse me?" Leigh asked. "You can't do that." She protested.
"Oh your permanent record gives me plenty reasons to search your locker." Perry snapped as Leigh's jaw tightened.
"Fine, search my locker, you won't find anything." Leigh spat as she moved away from her locker. Perry went to unlock the locker only to find the lock itself was completely mangled. She whipped around to face Leigh.
"What did you do?" Perry yelled, Adam quickly stepping in front of her.
"She was standing right in front of you, how could she have done anything?" Adam asked, causing Perry to frown.
"Weird things started happening when you three showed up." Perry growled as she waved her finger at the Davenports. "And i'm gonna get to the bottom of it." She stated before walking off. Leigh whipped around to face Adam.
"You fucked up my lock." Leigh said. Adam shrugged.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He told her with a small smile.
"Leigh?" A deep voice said, Leigh whipped around only to smile at the person in front of her.
"Uncle Robert!" She said happily before pulling him in for a hug. "What are you doing here?" She asked as she pulled back.
"I'm in town for parent teacher night." He said "Amber's mom usually brushes any of Amber's poor grades under the rug." He added before Amber ran up to the group.
"Where's Leigh?" She asked panicked. "My dad is coming into town!" She said before spotting Leigh and her dad two feet away. "Hi Daddy!" She smiled as she ran over and hugged her dad.
"Hi princess" He said with a smile as he hugged his daughter.
"What are you doing here?" Amber asked, already fearing she knew the answer.
"I'm here for your parent teacher night." He told her as Amber laughed.
"Oh daddy, how sweet of you to come all the way here for something so silly." She said. "But there's really no reason to go, i'm a star student." She smiled as she began to lead her dad towards the exit.
"Not so fast." he stated as he stopped her. "I know that you're struggling in school." Robert said. "And i'm going to make sure you're mother and i both take steps to remedy that." he told her.
"Aww but Daddy, pretty girls don't need to be smart." Amber whined.
"See, that's the kind of attitude i don't want you to have. I'm fine with you acting sweetheart, but i want you to be a smart businesswoman as well." He explained.
"That's what mom and all the agents are for." Amber protested.
"I'm going to see your mother right now so we can discuss this." He said, causing Amber
to frown before her father walked off.
"Ugh, he's gonna see my grades and i'm not gonna be able to go to the Scream premiere." She whined as she crossed her arms.
"Wait what's parent teacher night?" Bree asked, extremely confused about what was even going on.
"It's basically where your teachers invite your parents to the school and tell them about every bad thing you've ever done." Leo said with a frown.
"Yeah, and then i get majorly grounded by my dad." Amber pouted as she crossed her arms. "I had the cutest dress picked out and a very nice piece of arm candy to go with." she whined. Chase rolled his eyes before looking at his siblings.
"We have to keep a low profile, if Perry tells Davenport about all the suspicious things going on, then he'll know we've been using bionics and pull us out." He said in a hushed tone.
"Well i don't know about you guys, but i'm gonna go butter up my teachers." Leo explained before Amber's face lit up.
"That's genius!" She said as she looked at Leo "I'll bribe all my teachers to bring up my grades and then i can go to the premiere!" She said happily before running off.
"Well, my parents never went to these things." Leigh said before leaning against her locker. "If my teachers ever needed to talk to my parents, My uncle would take care of it." She explained.
"He seems weirdly normal compared to the rest of your family." Leo pointed out.
"He married in." Leigh stated which earned a series of nods from the group. The bell rang then rang, signalling the start of classes.
"Remember, low profile." Chase said causing Bree to roll her eyes.
"Yeah, Chase we get it, no bionics because you're a buzzkill." Adam said before walking off, dragging Leigh behind him.
" can you believe him?" Chase asked "I am not a buzzkill." Chase said to Leo.
"Yes you are." Leo said before walking off towards his first class.
**********Adam groaned as he bit into his hotdog. "Ugh this thing isn't even hot." He groaned before looking around to make sure no one would see him use his heat vision. Leigh saw what he was doing and smacked his arm.
"Adam, you can't use bionics in school." She hissed as she smacked his arm. Chase looked over at Adam and glared at him.
"Knock it off, or Davenport is gonna pull us out of school!" Chase exclaimed. "Perry is watching us like a hawk!" Chase stated before Bree let out a frustrated groan.
"I've been standing in lines all day!" She complained. "I hate not using my super speed whenever i want." Bree whined before crossing her arms.
"Yeah and i couldn't call Adam to shake my bag of cookies out of the vending machine." Leo pouted.
"Aww i love shaking your cookies out of the vending machine." Adam pouted.
"Fuck it, i'm speeding to the front." Bree said before Chase and Adam grabbed her arms.
"You go distract Perry while we get her out of here." Leigh told Leo before the four pulled Bree out the side door.
"I just want pizza!" She exclaimed as she was carried out into the hall.
"I'm hungry too Bree but we can't be using bionics!" Chase told her as he set her down. "Do you wanna get taken out of school?" He asked.
"No." Bree sighed as she crossed her arms.
"Hey want this half eaten cold hot dog?" Adam asked as he pulled the hotdog out of his pocket. Leigh quickly pulled it away from him.
"Adam why?" She asked before tossing the hot dog in trash.
"Hey kids in Africa would love to eat that hot dog!" Adam told her. "You're lucky i really like you, because otherwise that would be a total deal breaker." He teased before grabbing her hand.
"Can you two not right now?" Chase asked, clearly annoyed as Leo walked past.
"Since the line is so long, i'm gonna go grab lunch from the vending machine." He stated before Chase paused and shushed everyone.
"Do you guys hear that?" Chase asked.
"Hear what?" Leigh questioned before a light creaking was heard.
"Its coming from that vent!" Chase pointed out before looking down a Leo. "Leo watch out!" Chase yelled before Bree super sped to push Leo out of the way while Adam had pushed Leigh towards Chase before catching the falling air conditioner and setting it carefully to the side.
"Leo!" Leigh exclaimed before she rushed over towards the small teen flailing on the floor.
"I see the light! It's so pretty!" Leo said. "Paw-paw is that you?" Leo added before Leigh sighed.
"I think he's alright." She said as she pulled him up. "Maybe a bruise or two but i'm almost positive he's fine." She added as she helped him up.
"What did you hooligans do to my school?" Perry bellowed
"We're okay, thanks for asking." Chase scoffed
"Yeah it's not our fault the air conditioner fell from the hole in the ceiling." Adam pointed out.
"Well if the conditioner fell from there..." Perry asked as she pointed to the hole in the ceiling. "...Then what is it doing all the way over here?" She questioned as pointed to the vent. Leigh shrugged which caused Perry to narrow her eyes at the tiny brunette.
"You sabotaged my vents!" She yelled as pointed at Leigh.
"I didn't do shit!" Leigh yelled before Adam stepped in front of her.
"Does Leigh look like a sabatusitor to you?" He asked before Leigh shoved him out of the
way.
"I can fight my own battles Adam." Leigh spat before turning to Perry. "I didn't touch your vents." Leigh told her. "It's pathetic you think i care enough to even mess with them." Leigh explained.
"You have record full of misbehavior!" Perry yelled as Leigh rolled her eyes.
"Oh wow, a bunch of fucked up shit i did a few years ago-" Leigh started but Perry quickly cut her off.
"That's it! I'm nailing you for this." She growled before she grabbed Leigh's arm. "You're coming with me!" She said before she started to drag Leigh off.
"She didn't do anything!" Adam yelled before Leigh whipped around to shoot him a glare.
"I can handle it Adam." She told him before Perry grinned .
"I'm sure the video footage will confirm my suspicions." Perry said as Leigh whipped around.
"The video whatage?" She exclaimed as she looked at her friends as Perry dragged her towards her office.
***************Leigh bobbed her leg up and down nervously as she sat in Perry's office. She looked around trying to think of some way to get herself out of this. Perry smiled as she held up a silver hard drive.
"So see what you did to those vents." Perry said before Leigh's jaw tightened.
"I told you i do anything!" Leigh sighed. "I'm 5'1 and 100 pounds, do you really think i could do anything to the air conditioner?" Leigh asked.
"No, but you probably got your box of rocks boyfriend to help you." Perry stated before Leigh frowned.
"Adam's not a box of rocks." She started, getting upset that everyone was so quick to write Adam off as stupid.
"And I'm the queen of England." Perry spat causing Leigh to fume. Leigh went to open her mouth but the door behind her creaked open. "Ugh these damn drafts!" Perry yelled before getting up to close the door before sitting back down in front of Leigh. Once Perry's butt had touched the chair, her coffee cup tipped and coffee was spilt all over her lap.
"Ugh, now i have decaf coffee all over my slacks!" Perry yelled as Leigh giggled. "What did you do?" Perry growled at Leigh.
"Nothing! I've been sitting right in front of you!" Leigh said as Perry turned around to grab something to dry off her slacks. Leigh suddenly noticed Leo was standing over the hard drive right next to her. "Leo?" Leigh exclaimed, not sure where he had come from. It was almost like he appeared out of thin air. Perry whipped around and glared at Leo.
"Dooley what are you doing in my Office?!" Perry yelled as Leo glared at Leigh.
"Why?' He asked as Perry pulled Leigh up by her arm before dragging her and Leo out of the office and down the hall. Once they had made it to the common area she threw them both forward.
"I don't know what you two are up to-" Perry started before seeing parents shuffle in for parent-teacher night. "Hello! Welcome!" She said with a sweet smile before looking back at Leo and Leigh. "But Dooley if i ever find you sneaking around my office, i will break every bone in-" Perry growled before cutting herself off to smile at more parents. "Help yourself to cheese and crackers." Perry chirped before Leo spotted his mom.
"Hey mom." He said nervously as Leigh smiled sheepishly at Davenport.
"Hey guys." Tasha smiled.
" Mom, this is principal Perry." Leo said as he introduced the two to each other "Principal Perry, my extremely sympathetic and understanding mother." Leo said with a smile.
"I caught this trouble maker in my office." Perry stated as she pat Leo on the shoulder.
"And this one cursed me out earlier." Perry said as she gestured to Leigh.
"Leo why are you sneaking around this nice womens office?" Tasha asked.
"I wasn't sneaking in a nice womans office, i was sneaking around in her office." Leo said as he pointed to Perry, causing Tasha to gasp
"Leo!" She scolded.
"Sorry i can't tell you." Leo told her as Davenport looked at Leigh.
"Leigh, do you have an explanation for why you're in trouble?" Davenport asked.
"I do, but not one that won't make you upset with me." Leigh stated as Davenport looked at the three who were standing over in the corner.
"Do you guys know anything about this?" Davenport asked.
"Nope." Chase stated.
"Not a clue." Bree said.
"Leigh can take care of herself." Adam stated, a harsh edge to his voice that caused Leigh's stomach to drop. Leigh sighed, wishing Adam would look at her so she could at least mouth an apology to hold him over before she could explain.
"Oh yeah he's really mad at you." Leo told her before Leigh glared at him.
"I got that." She spat before Perry laughed.
"Aww, trouble in Paradise for the two lovebirds." Perry laughed. "C'mon, let me show you the rope Dooley can't climb." She said with a smile as she led the four towards the gym.
*******"Don't ya just wish kids came with a return policy?" Perry stated as Tasha, Davenport, Leo and Leigh all sat down in chairs in front of her desk.
"Oh my parents found a loophole on that one." Leigh commented sarcastically.
"I wonder why." Perry said causing Leigh to bite her cheek so she wouldn't freak out on Perry. "Alright let's talk about your other three." She said as she pulled out three files.
"They're great aren't they?" Davenport said with a laugh.
"No." Perry stated with a smile, causing Davenport to frown. Leo nudged Leigh's arm and they both saw Bree on the ceiling. Leigh's eyes widened as Leo panicked.
"Do you know what's fascinating about this office? The floor. And I think everyone should look at it! Let's look at the floor!" Leo stated as Leigh went to put her face in her hands, having a feeling this would all end very badly.
"Eyes on the prize." Perry stated as she regained everyone's attention. "Let's start with the tall one." Perry said.
"Adam." Leigh told her.
"Yes, or as i like to call him empty box on a neck." Perry said with a laugh.
"It's so fucked that you say shit like that about him!" Leigh spat as Davenport glared at her.
"What has gotten into you?" He asked.
"You're gonna let her talk about your kid like that?" Leigh asked before Leo stood up and held out a piece of chewed gum in his palm.
"Almost dropped my gum." Leo laughed nervously as he stuck the gum back in his mouth.
"Hey no gum in school!" Perry yelled as she picked up her trash can and held it out towards Leo "spit it out." She ordered and Leo frowned at her.
"You couldn't have said that two seconds ago?" Leo asked as he spit his gum in the trashcan. It was at this point that Davenport and Tasha looked up to see Bree hanging out on the ceiling.
"What is she doing up there?" Tasha hissed at Leigh.
"I actually don't know." Leigh told her as a hair clip fell on the desk.
"What's that?" Perry asked. Davenport quickly grabbed it
"It's mine, it's uh for windy days." Davenport said as he clipped it in his hair, causing Leigh to snicker. "Anyways what were you saying?" he asked.
"Why tell you when i can show you.' Perry said happily as she frowned at her desk. "Ugh where did that hard drive go?" She groaned. "Don't go anywhere." She spat before leaving her office. It was at this point that Bree decided to come down from the ceiling.
"What the hell is going on?" Mr Davenport asked as he got up from the chair he was sitting in.
"It's a long story." Bree told him.
"Well talk fast." Davenport told her.
"We were hanging out in the hallway when Chase was like, "What's that noise?" And I was like "Move," and Adam was like, "I got it." So then we used our bionics to save Leo from getting pancaked by an air conditioner. Bad news- Cameras recorded everything and it's all on this hard drive." Bree told him.
"Is that all?" Mr Davenport said with a sarcastic chuckle
"And we used your invisibility cloak, so your top-secret million-dollar technology may be ruined, but yeah, that's pretty much it." Bree told him.
"Aww, i didn't even get to play with that yet." Leigh pouted as everyone looked at her confused. "What that cloak is real Harry Potter magic and i wanted to use it." She pouted. Davenport shook his head before looking at Bree.
"Give me that hard drive, we have to get rid of it." Davenport said just as Perry walked in, causing Bree to super speed back up to the ceiling. Perry looked at Mr Davenport with a smiled.
"Oh you found it!" She said happily. "I could kiss you." She told him.
"Please don't." Mr Davenport said with an uncomfortable frown as Perry took the hard drive from him. Adam and Chase rushed in just as Perry had taken the hard drive to her desk.
"Bree what's taking so-" Adam started before seeing the situation and quickly changing the course of his sentence. "I mean this isn't the men's room." He stated
"Why would i be sitting in the men's room?" Perry asked.
"Because anything else would be unlady like." Chase told her "Bye." He smiled as he and Adam turned to leave but Perry quickly stopped the two.
"Stop, Turn, Sit!" She told the two boys, Adam following every instruction yelled at him causing Leigh to giggle.
"He's so cute look at him." Leigh said to Leo as she glanced at her boyfriend who was sat on the floor.
"He is literally the human embodiment of a golden retriever." leo told her.
"And its so adorable." Leigh told him as Perry hooked the hard drive to the computer.
"Now, i just gotta get under here and make the last connection." Perry told them as she crawled under the desk. Davenport quickly pulled Adam up off the floor and over to the desk.
"Smash that hard drive right now.' Davenport hissed.
"You told us never to use bionics in school." Adam told him and Leigh sighed.
"Adam just smash it!" She told him.
"I'm sorry, i was told not fight your battles." Adam told her as she sighed.
"Adam that doesn't even make sense." Chase told him.
"Who cares just smash the goddamn hard drive!" Davenport told Adam who quickly did as he was told and Bree quickly created a whirlwind of papers to further distract Perry.
"Talk about getting caught up in your work." Mr Davenport laughed once the papers settled. Perry saw the hard drive and screamed.
"What did you do?" She yelled at Leigh. "It had to be one of you troublemakers!" Perry yelled.
"Hey i was standing right here and didn't see anything." Davenport told her as Amber and Her dad walked in.
"Principal Perry it's come to my attention that you've been singling out Leigh based on her record, is that true?" He asked in a stern tone.
"What's it to you?" Perry asked.
"I'm her Uncle and if i can remember correctly, Leigh's records were sealed and made sure to stay out of school official's hands given the nature of her situation." Robert told her. "So i'd really love to know how you got a hold of them." Robert asked. Perry's face went white as a ghost. "Exactly, so if i hear anything about you harassing my niece or my daughter ever again, i will make sure that you lose your job and never work at another high school ever again."
"You and what army?" Perry spat.
"My team of highly expensive new york lawyers." He told her as Amber grinned as she crossed her arms.
"So i guess we're done here?" Leo said.
"Oh i'm not done with you guys." Perry yelled at him.
"I think you are, falling air conditioners, illegal backpack searches, and video taping the students without permission? I think, his and my teams of lawyers, say that we're done here." Davenport told her as the two families began to walk out. Leigh grabbed Amber in the middle of the hall as they walked out.
"Hey, thanks for backing me up." Leigh told her. "I appreciate it."
"Nobody messes with my cousin except me." Amber told her. "Especially not some crusty old lady." Amber added. "Plus i love watching Daddy scare people with his money." She smiled as Leigh rolled her eyes.
"Well thanks." Leigh added and Amber nodded before pulling her cousin in for a quick hug. The two stood around awkwardly once the pulled back from the hug.
"You look like a homeless barbie." Amber told her.
"And you look like a bitch." Leigh spat back as the two walked back to the group. Leigh pulled on the sleeve of Adam's shirt before pulling him off to the side of the group. "I know you're mad at me." Leigh started.
"Yeah i am." Adam told her. "I was just trying to help you and you went off on me." Adam said.
"And it wasn't right, i'm really sorry Adam." Leigh told him. "I'm just used to having to look after myself and ugh i don't know i guess i just lashed out because i felt like you thought i couldn't handle it." Leigh explained.
"I don't think that at all." Adam told her. "I was just trying to protect you that's all." He said
"I know." Leigh nodded. "I was just being a bitch and i'm sorry." She told him as Adam pulled her into a hug.
"It's fine, i'm sorry i was mean earlier." he said before placing a kiss on her forehead.
"So we're okay?' Leigh asked as she pulled back from the hug. Adam nodded causing her to smile.
"Leigh?" her uncle asked.
'Whats up?" She asked as she walked towards him.
"Since Amber seems to be struggling in school and you seem to be doing quite well, i've decided that you are going to tutor her." Robert said causing both Amber and Leigh to frown.
"No way!" Leigh said.
"Daddy, can't i just get a tutor of the cute male variety?" Amber asked.
"No, you're going to get your grades up and Leigh is going to help." Robert told the two girls. "Donald here has agreed to update me and make sure you both are following through with this arrangement." Robert explained.
"All the study sessions will take place in our house and will be two hours each, three times a week." Tasha stated.
"Why am i being punished for her bad grades?" Leigh asked.
"Do we need to talk about what you said to principal Perry?" Davenport said.
"You can't come up with a less cruel punishment?" Leigh asked.
"You can't see Adam for two weeks then." Tasha said as Leigh frowned.
"But, that's really mean." Leigh told her softly.
"Your choice." Tasha said with crossed arms.
"Fine I'll tutor Amber." Leigh sighed causing her Uncle to smile.
"Perfect, glad we got all that sorted out." He smiled. "Well it was nice meeting you Donald. Take care of Leigh for me and make sure Leigh looks out for Amber." Robert said as he shook Davenports hand.
"Will do." Davenport told him before Robert and Amber exited, trying to decide where they should go get dinner.
"We're not in trouble right?" Bree asked.
I'm gonna let this one slide... " Davenport started, causing the three bionic kids to let out sighs of relief. "Because you guys did save Leo from being crushed by an air conditioner. And besides, it's not like you guys have ever used your bionics at school before, right?" Davenport asked as the three looked between each other.
"Nope." Chase stated.
"Never ever." Bree added.
"Why would i commit such a sin." Adam said earning looks from the group.
"So who wants pizza?" Tasha said earning smiles from the teens.
"Yeah dealing with that whole mess has really worked up an appetite." Leo said as he placed a hand on his stomach
