There are three minor Easter Eggs in this episode. Answers in the A/N.

Again, please take note of the A/N at the end of this week's episode. Enjoy!

"Weiss stumbles upon Blake's guilty pleasure."

"Ow!" Weiss bumped her hand on the inside of the bookshelf.

Weiss was rifling through the team's shelf, trying to find a textbook she had borrowed that was due for return very soon. She was trying to take the responsible approach, and not be angry at Ruby; the young scythe-wielder had lost her own, so Weiss lent hers out of good faith. But of course, Ruby eventually found her original textbook, and when Weiss had asked for hers back, all she had received was a noncommittal shrug. Naturally, Weiss took particular offence to that.

Ruby, if I can't find this textbook, I will wring your red-hooded neck! Weiss seethed to herself, as she practically tossed books out of their places on the shelf. Paperback books, hardcover books, books with faded ink, books still glossy as the first day they were bought. Unsurprisingly, about eighty percent of them had Blake's distinctive scrawl on the inside of the cover, the rest of the collection shared between Yang, Ruby, and herself. However, despite the multitude of books, Weiss' textbook was nowhere to be found. Nearing desperation, her actions became more frantic, throwing multiple books at a time rather than one at a time. "Gah!" she shrieked in frustration, throwing her hands into the air. This was not going to look good next to her name at all.

Feeling deflated and demoralized, Weiss started to gather up the books scattered around her so she could slot them back on the shelf. Granted, not placed exactly where they were before, nor categorized as carefully as they were before, which would probably draw the ire of Blake later on, but Weiss couldn't find the capacity to care about such trivialities in her disappointed state. Mentally, she was going through ways to circumvent punishment. I could take someone else's textbook, but that plan would fall apart when they get scanned on return…maybe I could threaten the professor, but that would probably get me in worse trouble…I could-hey, what's this?

She put her ruminations on hold as her eyes fell upon an item of interest. A black novel – novella, maybe, considering its thickness – brashly emblazoned with sprawling crimson writing that read, "Ninjas of Love." The corners of Weiss' mouth slowly turned upwards at the sight, and the visual image of Blake reading such a book. She picked it up, and almost fell over in amazement as she looked at the other books around it; "The Temptress," "Of Princesses & Paupers," "Tall, Dark Strangers," "Pollination: The Bumblebee and White Rose…"

Weiss grinned widely, and looked around to make sure the room was empty. When she was satisfied that no one else was present, she exploded into hysterical laughter, clutching at her sides, tears threatening to get past her eyelids and stream down her cheeks.

"Bahahahah!"

Blake's Faunus ears twitched under her bow, as she heard the frenzied laughter coming from the team's dorm room. She frowned. That sounds like…Weiss?

Her stroll broke into a light jog as she approached the door. As she burst in the dorm, the scene that she was presented with would normally raise her eyebrows, but as she saw Weiss rolling on the floor, cackling, surrounded by her prized, supposed-to-be-secret, romance novels, all she felt was the sensation of her heart sinking into her stomach.

Nevertheless, she tried to act shocked. "Weiss, what in the world are you doing?"

"The better-haha-question," Weiss countered, struggling to keep it together. "Is what-ahaha-are you doing with-hmhm-with these?" she burst into laughter again, as she started throwing the books around.

"Hey!" Blake blushed furiously. "Stop throwing those around! Those are priv-those aren't yours!"

Weiss sat up and opened one of the books. "'Oh, please, Garrett," she read, mockingly. "Let me show you, what dreams are really made of,'" she dropped her head in the book and continued laughing.

Blake continued to blush. "Stop it!"

Weiss' laughter eventually faltered, and the heiress stood up and walked over to the Faunus girl, who was shaking with embarrassment and anger. "Blake, this has the potential to, and it probably will, come back to haunt you. Unless…"

Blake caught on. "Are you going to try and blackmail me with this?"

Weiss cocked her head, and smirked. "Well…"

"How are you able to sleep at night?" Blake muttered, shaking her head.

"I'm wondering how you sleep at night, when you read all this smut!" Weiss pointed at her, smacking her lips on the last word.

Blake's hands balled into fists. "It's not just smut, its romance! And it's…tasteful!"

The sound of approaching footsteps turned the attention of the two girls to the empty doorway, just as Ruby came through. "Hey, guys, what's-huh?" the red-themed girl stopped suddenly in confusion at the sight of the mess of books strewn across the center of the dorm room. Ruby looked around and between the two older girls awkwardly. "So…anyone wanna tell me what's going on here?"

Blake glared at Weiss with warning, which the heiress ignored. "Well, I was-hey!" she was cut off by Blake dragging her off to the side, just out of Ruby's earshot. "What is it, Blake?"

"Is this seriously how you're going to go about this?" Blake whispered.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Weiss goaded.

"Don't play coy with me!" Blake hissed. "I believe I used the word 'blackmail,' earlier."

"Such an ugly word, isn't it, 'blackmail?'"

Blake narrowed her eyes. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

Weiss tried her best to look affronted. "No!"

"Really?"

"Okay, you're right; I'm enjoying this," Weiss broke. "But you should really feel honored; I haven't smiled this much in a long time."

"You're smiling at my expense," Blake pointed out.

Weiss shrugged. "Why draw lines around it? It is what it is."

Blake sighed. "So, what do you want, then? Lien? Of course not. Embarrassing personal secrets? Why give you more material, right? Just tell me. Come on, lay it on me."

Weiss eyed the bow atop her head, smiled gloatingly, and whispered into the Faunus' ear. Blake pushed her away. "No, no, no. Absolutely not."

Weiss rolled her eyes, and turned back to their leader. "Hey, Ruby-mmf!" she was muffled by Blake's hand over her mouth. The black and white-themed girls stared each other down silently, the former biting her lip nervously, and the latter feeling rather smug.

"Fine," Blake decided. "You know what? Fine. I'll do it. Have it your way."

Weiss' grin widened, revealing more gleaming teeth. "Really?"

"Those novels were supposed to be secret," Blake reasoned. "And I'd like to keep their presence in my personal library as secret as possible, at this point, so fine, whatever; I'll do it."

"Great," Weiss placed her hands on her hips. "Tomorrow is Sunday; the whole team will be here in the dorm room; you know what to do."

With that, she slunk out of the dorm room, to revel for as long as conceivably possible until she had to get back to her textbook hunt.

"What was all that about?" Ruby asked Blake.

Blake exhaled deeply, and shook her head. "Ruby, if you can help me clear all of this up," she motioned towards the mess of scattered literature in the center of the room. "I'll let you in on something utterly ridiculous."

Ruby only looked more confused. "Whaaaat? What do you mean, 'ridiculous?'"

Blake gathered her precious romance content, and looked up at her leader, with a slightly-worried expression on her face.

"Okay, Blake," Ruby walked in to the bathroom, with an handful of tubes and small cases. "This is everything you asked for; a lot of makeup here, but whatever," she shrugged, and handed them over to Blake, struggling to look away from the costumed Faunus girl.

Blake picked out one of the eyeliners, trying to keep the blushing in her cheeks down to a minimum. "Thank you, Ruby. Are the others all out there?"

"Yeah," Ruby nodded. "But me and Yang still have no idea what's going on. What is going on? Why are you dressed like that?"

Blake fidgeted with the liner in her hands, choosing her words carefully. "I lost a bet," she lied.

"Really? What happened? Does this have anything to do with what happened with you and Weiss yesterday?"

Blake's eyes widened. "No," she hastily replied, as she pushed her leader back out of the room. She uncapped the small pencil and added the last of the lines to her face. She untied her bow, as she finished her makeup and sighed. As long as this keeps them secret…

She checked herself in the mirror, adjusting the revealing costume she had been forced to wear, and opened the door to the dorm room, to be greeted by a cacophony of wolf-whistles, gasps and squeals. As she bore the brunt of her entrance, her eyes fell on Weiss, who was grinning madly, in-between laughter, and giving her a sly thumbs-up. Blake's cheeks reddened furiously, as she scowled at the heiress. A number of choice words ran through her head, one of them in particular sticking out to her.

Fiend.

So, I think that was a solid improvement following a couple of disappointing efforts. This was an idea that I had way back, in the early run of the volume, and long before Episode 9 aired with Ninjas of Love. Nice to write it.

The important part of this A/N: I will be leaving for an overseas location between this episode and the next. I will be staying at this location from the 14th to the 7th of February. As such, this could potentially impact the releases of the next three episodes. I have been told that I will have a connection to some form of internet, but I feel that it's necessary to warn you, the audience, that the next three episodes could have a delayed release.

And now the goofy part of the A/N: Who could find the three references scattered throughout the episode?

#1: When Weiss reads an excerpt from one of the books, she mentions the name Garrett. Garrett Hunter is the voice of Adam Taurus, Blake's mentor/partner from the Black Trailer. A somewhat more obscure reference, but a slight nod to the Blake/Adam shippers out there. I don't care much for the ship itself, but hey! Why not? Add it to the list of RWBY ships which I have made a reference to throughout the series.

#2: One of the books is listed as "Pollination: The Bumblebee and White Rose." This is a great series of RWBY one-shots written by knives4cash. Check them out on DeviantArt!

#3: Finally, the use of the word, "fiend," to end the story. A tip of the hat to VnixxiR, another DeviantArtist who has done some great stuff, including RWBY 4komas which more often than not feature Blake saying fiend.

Next Friday, 17th January: Team RWBY and Team JNPR declare war.
