After hearing his confession, Purvi doesn't say a word but turns and runs out of the building.
' Purvi!' kavin bolt out of the apartment and fly down the hallway like a bullet, seeing her disappear past the front door 'Purvi!' he shouts her name again
' dur raho mujhse!' she screams, sprinting down the street and jumping into the car
' no!' he keeps going, ' purvi please'
Her car roars to life and she speeds off down the road, swerving all over the place.
' S***t' the cop howls and pelts to his car and slam it into the drive, pulling out and wheel-spinning after her. She gains some distance between the cop's Audi and her car, but still, he keeps her in his view. She takes a right at the bottom of the street, barely stopping to check for oncoming cars.
' for f***ks sake angel!' he puts his foot down, prepared to slam his way through any vehicle that gets in his way.
The number of cars loses in his brain as he counts as far she goes, but she is five to six cars ahead of him. her driving his clumsy and erratic as she tries to escape him….most probably will end up killing herself if she doesn't stop at the time. But no matter what, she eventually have to stop because its an office day and there is huge traffic ahead waiting for them being news.
What do you mean by the news? Well, anything can happen over there, remember today is day three? And it's the day where Tej is planning to kidnap purvi.
She does a left, and kavin follows her, wiping the sheen of sweat away from his eyebrow and gripping the steering wheel, racing to make past the lights before they turn red.
' what the hell!' he puts a sudden break, intentionally but not wanting to as he sees some tourists crossing the road and almost at the verge of getting themselves killed. As soon as kavin stops his car the people with their camera's starts to take pictures of him and the area…everything. He exhales loudly when he sees they all are still in one piece, he jumps out of the cat and runs around the corner, praying for long traffic so Purvi has to stop her car and wait for more until he finds her.
He looks around for a while but suddenly his eye catches her, on her car in the distance, caught up in the traffic. On the other side of the road. He breaks into a sprint, running at the center of the road, being shouted and beeped. On the other side of the road, where the girl is in her car slowly starts to move forward as the light turns green along with the other vehicles. He pumps his legs with more energy, gaining on her and then the door to her car swing open and she appears, looking down at him and cursing herself for not locking the doors before driving in.
' don't run from me' he calmly says
' stop!' she screams and gets off her car and starts to walk as fast as she can ' mere nazdik bhi mat ana kavin!'
He holds his palms up to her in surrender, ' please ek bar meri baat to sun lo' he calls, not liking the fifty meters between them. he needs to hold her, touch her, caress her and love her.
' tum shadi shuda ho!' her voice breaks, her accusing words fades into devastation ' tumhari ek beti hai! You lied to me!'
' no!' he shakes his head, taking a step forward but stops when she moves back ' meye shadi shuda tha, I am not anymore. We are getting divorced'
' tum phirse joot bol rahe ho'
' I am not lying!" he clenches his fist, knowing that he needs to spit the words before he loses her forever ' Archana meri bhai ki wife hai! I had to marry her because of sakshi!'
Her face blanks on him as he goes on
' but we are getting divorced now, aur sakshi mere bhai ki beti hai aur mene Archana se shadi sif uske future ke liye kit hi. but…kuch hi din pehle pata chala hai ki Archana has brain cancer aur uske paas zadaya wakt nehi hai, '
The flashbacks nearly consume him, approaching his nearest wall and smashing it in his head against it to crush them. but he still perseveres and goes on.
' why didn't you tell me' she asks while the other cars horns and shouts at them to move away and her car from the road
' hamare beech meye asa time he nehi aya that I would be able to tell you, purvi I swear ki meye tumhe batane wala tha but wohh right time he nehi aya.' He answers and she wipes her tears, looking around her as the crowd of people can advise her to say the next word 'Purvi I love you!" he shouts, just to be sure she hears . his arms swing up in front of her, waiting for her to hold his hand and give their love another chance with a new name.
Everyone says love hurts, but that inst true. Loneliness hurts, rejection hurts, losing someone hurts. Envy hurts. Everyone gets these things confused with love, but in reality, love is the only thing in the world that covers up all the pain and makes someone feel wonderful again. Love is the only thing in this world that does not hurt.
' nothing about the time we have had together has been a lie, not one second' he says
' you should have told me' she cries
' I had every intention of telling you, but I just needed to find my own charity before I could offer yours. I needed to think about Sakshi also before taking any step. I want to make things right now'
She drops her graze, nodding and his hope come back to life as she lifts a foot from the ground, she walks to him, and he silently spurs her on. He also begins to walk towards her, slowly, darting his eyes on hers. They ignore the continued sound of the car horns, screaming around them. his focus is set only on getting his girl back where she belongs. In his arms. She lifts her head and wipes her tears with a smile.
But then suddenly the loud sound of screeching of tired adds a new ringing to their ears, and he finds himself abandoning the comfort he was already feeling before he could hold her in his arms.
The rest happens in slow motion
A van
A white van, the same one which always got noticed by Kavin, wherever purvi went.
Kavin speeds towards purvi, but her attention goes towards the van by how close it gets every second. he sees her smile drop away, he sees her body lock up, but he doesn't see her get close to him anymore. She stays still in her position and looks up at the van.
He watches as the van pulls to a screaming stop next to her, he sees the door slide and opens.
' No !' he roars, echoing through the streets of Mumbai.
A pair of arms appear from the van, covered with black material and it seizes her, pulling her into the van. Screeching rings out through again into the air, and the smell of running rubber invades his nose. The van heads straight for him, forcing Kavin to move away from its path. He looks at the distance between them and rolls his body at the street before the van crushes him into pieces, it speeds off, taking a corner fast as he loses his sight of it.
The people around his stares at him, taking a wide berth as they passed and whispers something on each other ears. It feels like everyone is looking at him like he ran away from the asylum., but no one asks if he is okay or not, no one approaches him to see if he needs help or not. Even tho is anyone asks to help, no one can because what he needs is beyond help.
He stands up and cries on the spot, the madness of these street blurs of the color in his vision. Then he realizes again that she is gone. He throws his head up in the sky and roars her name.
On the other hand, after some hours of the kidnapping, Purvi gains sense and looks around the room she has been kept. She tries to free herself from the rope that tied her and the tape that covered her mouth. The blackness of the room is constant, her ability to scream is taken away, there is no talking, not even a whisper,
She remains silent and unmoving on the hard floor, praying.
Kavin sits on his car not being able to think what to do next, he informed his seniors and also told everything that Tej Oberoi said but none of them believes him even tho if they try hard, because they are also bound by their duty. The investigation goes on and the search crew goes on for the missing girl but Kavin remains at his car. His body because sore, eyes are sore and so is his heart.
She will be frightened, calling for him, calling for the light. and these are the words that captivated his mind and stopped his ability to think beyond that
He gathers himself up and drives to the place where he can get his answers, after some minutes of driving and passing through traffic., he dumps his car in the parking lot under Tej industries and races towards the building, pushing his way through the door with force. The glass ricochets off the wall, sending a deafening crash through the lobby. Everyone falls silent and turns their attention to their work. The man standing near the x-ray machine widens his eyes as Kavin gets closer. And before he gets up and stops him, Kavin takes out his spare gun which doesn't belong to the CID and points it at the man's head, and he goes quiet and lets Kavin pass through without any interruptions. After some time at the elevator as it takes him at the top floor, where he can confront with Tej. Kavin walks through the boring black and white hall which he saw on the first day of his work. The same boring paintings and the same old boring attires the employs have to wear, but this is not his concern for now. He just needs to find his girl at any cost.
He pushes the door and walks inside the room without knocking or asking for permission to get in, the receptionist tied to stop him but vain.
He looks around the room and doesn't find the man he was searching for, rather his eyes stop his ex-colleagues of CID, senior inspector Abhijeet, senior inspector Data and ACP Praduyman, including junior inspector Shreya.
' Tej oberoi kaha hai?' kavin questions
' sir hame pata chala hai ki wohh seher se bahar gaya hai kuch kam keliye' Shreya replies, lowering her voice.,
, listening to her statement, Kavin runs his fingers through his hair and sigh in frustration, keeping his one hand on his waist and eyes darting outside the window, mind thinking about what to do next.
' tumhe puvi oberoi se dur rehne ke orders the kavin' The ACP reminds
' I know but pehle hume Tej ko dhund na hoga, mujhe pata hai ki usi nei Purvi ko kidnap kiya hai….i know it!' kvin yells
' hamare paas koi sabot nehi hai uske khilaf' Daya interruptys
' Pehle hume yeh pata lagana hoga ki purvi hai kaha' Abhijeet adds and suddenly his phone rings, he picks up the call and receives information from Junior inspector Vineet.
' kya!" the cop yells and all the eyes present in the room, glances at him
' kya hua?' Daya questions seeing his friend's worried face
' Vineet nei CCTV footage dekha aur ek admi ka cehra aya, uske bare mein sari information nikal li hai.' Abhijeet pauses and looks at kavin ' uska naam Ravi Kumar hai, tees saal ka hai aur uske criminal records pehle se hi hai. Drugs, robbery, murder aur….' His words fade as the tension grows among them
' aur?' Shreya asks for further information
'aur rape' the senior concludes
' wohh van ek mahena pehle chori ho gayee thi aur number plate change kara gaya hai…..par acchi baat yeh hai ki uss van ke asli malik ka pata chal gaya hai'
' koi use pese de raha hoga yeh sab karne keliye, warna ravi ke kya maksad ho sakte hai Purvi Oberoi ko kidnap karke?' ACP keeps his accusation
' Yeh Sab Tej kar raha hai, ek bar mujhe wohh mil jayaa….churunga nehi meye use' clenching his jaw and gritting his teeth, kavin says
' tum abhi off duty ho, tum kuch nehi kar sakte jab tak court se orders nehi a jate' Daya reminds
' I don't care about the court orders, mujhe abhi pata hai ki meye jis larki se pyar karta hu, use bacha ne keliye mujhe mera position nehi chaiyee. I can protect Purvi without my DUTY' He concludes causing everyone to lose their words by seeing his determination for his love.
He didn't choose his duty in this nor his love, he chose what his heart told. Duty is what he does and love his what he feels, it cannot be compared or mixed up. For protecting love, he has to use his love and to be on duty, he has to be sincere. DUTY and HEELS were never a problem actually, it all depends on the time and the situation. His duty didn't allow him to fall for heels because he was in that situation where he had a job to protect her. And now while protecting his LOVE, the duty is not coming in between because of his restrictions. All depends on the situation and the time being.
' hum purvi ko dhund denge kese?' Shreya questions
' Vineet nai ek tracking kaha hai ki uss van ke asli owner ne ek tracking device laga kar rahi thi uss van mai aur unfortunately Ravi ne wohh janta nahei, Vineet abh wohh van track karne ki kosish kar raha hai' Abhijeet loudly says so kavin can hear, he is helping kavin to go on the fight and protect what is his.
' phir se phone lagao aur pata karo ki wohh tracker ki location kaha par hai' the ACP purposely says in front of kavin as he is not allowed to go to the bureau and find out about it
' ji sir' Abhijeet replies glancing at kavin as he sees him slime
After some moments the senior acknowledges the information about the location where the girl has been kept, he informs the people present in the room loud and clear, and the ACP commands them to accompany him to the bureau and get ready to save the girl but before that he gazes at Kavin and with his eyes he commands him to go and save her first, before they reach there. because if Kavin gets caught protecting purvi without his duty, there can be severe charges against him, and so the ACP indirectly told him to reach the place before CID does.
The kidnapper kept purvi blindfolded till the time and still, she plays dead as she feels two hands picking her up and taking her to the other room. She doesn't think how to react when they will free her mouth from the tape, but she constantly thinks one thing with proud that what will happen to them if Kavin finds them out? Will any of them be alive?
' boss ate hi honge' one of the kidnappers says and places the girl on the floor
The smell of the damp and dirt hits her nose and the chilly weather makes her feel cold as she shivers a little. the blindfold is too tight for her as she tries to open her eyes inside the fabric. The gag is dry, her mouth is dry. She couldn't scream even if she wanted to. they left her in silent after binding her hands behind her back, but one hope she still has is that he will find her.
Ever thought what would you do in this situation? I imagine myself crying and freaking out
Ever experienced love? No…
Then you obviously will feel the way you said in this type of a situation, but not Purvi. She knows her love will come to save her, not that she isn't trying…but it's also impossible when you see the man whom you thought is your father for years, is the one trying to kill you.
' purvi' a similar voice echoes in her ears as she tries to move,
A guy opens her blindfold and turns on the lights of the place, making her able to see everything before they end her life.
' dad?' after blinking again and again to get a clear vision, purvi finally sees the man in front of her who has a grin on his face and papers In her hand.
Kavin reaches the location as his seniors informed, he gets out of his car and looks around the place, searching for any sign of his girl's whereabouts. He takes his spare gun out and starts to walk, making sure that none of Tej's men can attack him before he does, or shout informing his mates that someone is here to save the girl.
He gets inside the abandoned building and doesn't find a sigh of any men nor a voice that can lead him to Purvi. He creeping into the doors he takes the handle and pulls it gently, flinching when iron scrapes against the rusty frame. A damp stench makes him in the face, along with a cool gust of air and the echoes of people's voice hit his ear.
He follows the sound of their voices coming from their throats as he plans to slice them, he is all surrounded by abandoned machinery, all torture devices rather than industrial equipment. His gun constantly poised to fire, his eyes surveys every inch of the place. Then they stop talking, and his feet stop moving. After some moments he quickly gets into the room, kicking the door with his feet, almost breaking it and gets in, as he sees Tej Oberoi with only one of his men.
Only one man to support him in his crime
' tum..tum yeha kese' Tej stammers his words
' purvi ko chordo' kavin replies not answering his question but keeping his demand, but the reaction he gets is that Ravi pulling out his knife and placing it over Purvi's throat
' mar dalunga meye use' ravi threatens
Kavin trembles for a moment but gathers himself, dating his eyes at Purvi where she is breathing heavily and flinches a little.
' dekho ravi tumhe meye jane dunga agar tum purvi ko chor doge' kavin lies as ravi doesn't believe him, the blade of the knife pushes into her flesh, pulsing against her throat as she breathes. Kavin gulps seeing that and tightens his grip on his gun.
' you know what Kavin Malhotra? Purvi ko abh marna hoga, kiyn ki mera kaam toh ho gaya hai. She signed on the papers aur uske marne ke baad officially wohh zameen mere naam par ho gaygi' Tej says and laughs
' tum bohut bari galati kar rahe ho' Kavin yells, his voice is loaded with the threat. He glances at purvi again and watches her throat spiking a muffled and a drop of blood to appear on his view. It trickles down her neck,
The rage. Deep, hot, raw, rage.
He looks at it at repeats a mantra on his head over and over again to keep himself clam ' keep it cool, kuch nehi hoga purvi ko'
' dur raho!' ravi shouts, panicked
' goodbye' kavin closes his eyes and raises his hand and pulls the trigger. bang! He sees the bullet as it travels towards the target and hits his head. He drops like lead as blood splatters purvi's face.
Purvi remains motionless and looks at the dead body until she hears another bang!. She jumps on her spot and covers her ears, slowly turning her face and sees Tej lying on the floor, with his hand on his knees and screaming for help. Everything blurs on her vision as she closes her eyes shut and hands covering her ears
Suddenly she feels a pair of hands again but this time a different touch, its Kevin's. he pulls her into a hug and buries his face on her hair.
' tum thik ho?' he asks and she nods, not finding words to say.
He looks at her and picks her up on his arms and starts to walk, Tej screams and shouts, saying things and cursing them but still stays in pain, holding his knees and crying for help.
' piche math dekhna' kavin says, looking at purvi as she glances at her so-called father
' par…' she whispers
' shhh. Don't worry, mene already Tej Oberoi ka confession record karliya hai, aur wohh uske khilaf use hoga' kavin replies, pointing at his shirt's button where there is a hidden camera which he smartly wore before coming.
She nods and rests her head on his chest, her eyes darted at him as he's the focus is forward, face straight and jaw tight.
When they make outside, she buries her face against his chest and hides from the glare, drawing long breathes through her nose, taking most of his sent in the fresh air. He walks to his car and makes her sit on her passenger seat, he grabs a tissue and starts to wipe at her face and then the blood on her neck and the dirt from her face. She looks up and sees another car entering the building they just came from, it's the CID team who arrived as if they were waiting for them to come outside because senior inspector Abhijeet looks towards them and flashes a smile.
' how did you find me?' purvi questions
' mene bola tha na ki tum jaha kahi par bhi raho meye tumhe dhund lunga' kavin replies with a grin
' Tej Oberoi ka kya hoga?' purvi asks
' saza mile gi' kavin replies and sits on the driving seat
' wait….hum ja kaha rahe hai?'
' ghar'
' but you are my home now, mujhe kahi aur nehi jana' purvi says and kavin stares at her for a while with love in his eyes, then he leans down and kisses her forehead. Without words saying that he will love her forever and they are meant to be together.
Love cannot be defined in a word, the feeling is strange, it is kind of weird. Love makes you feel good each night and day, there is no reason you have no to say. Love makes you go weak in your knees, it feels like the cool gentle breeze. Love is forever, forever and true.
6 months later
Tej Oberoi got lifetime jail for the murder of Anant Singh and his wife, and also for kidnapping and for the attempt of killing Purvi Everything went on perfect from then onwards, Kavin got his duty back and Purvi started staying with him and Sakshi. Archana passed away three months ago for her disease and from then on, Purvi became Sakshi's mother as she knows sakshi thinks that Kevin is her father. Everything was just perfect like a story, but one this was missing from their life.
' purvi zara bahar ayogi?' entering the room and stammering his words, kavin says as purvi turns her face looking at him and washing her face as she was trying hard to bake a cake.
' kya hua?' purvi asks
' chalo' kavin steps forward and grabs her hand and leads her to the garden, mking her sit on the chair where skashi and dushyant are also present with an evil grin on her face
' ab bolo ge hua kya?' purvi repeats
' papa ne bola ki ap unki angel ho' sakshi blurts
' umm….i…I' purvi darts her eyes at kavin and stutters
' mummy ki tarha,?' the child asks
' well….i am…' the girl searches for her words to explain
' mummy ki tarha nehi, apki mom angel hai kuyn ki wohh heaven main hai aur purvi angel hai kuyn ki she is kavin's savior' Dushyant steps and shrugs
' savior matlab?' the little girl questions with a frown
' savior matlab…ummm…..ek insaan jo dusre insaan ko happy karta ho jab wohh sad hota hai' dushyant explain
' mere papa ko happy karne keliye thank you!' sakshi beams and sings to her
' your welcome' purvi whispers
' papa ne mujhse help mangi kuch karne keliye' the little girl proudly says
' kya?' purvi asks and watches kavin sit on his knees, his smile turns shy as sakshi pushes him closer to purvi. He takes her hand and pulls her forward, breathing in and out in nervousness.
' jab mene bola sakshi ko that we are getting married,' kavin begins ' she asked me how did I propose you and when I told, she wants very impressed' he turns his head to his grinning daughter and laughs a little. ' she said it wants like fairy tales'
' why?' purvi looks at sakshi and her little eyes roll impatiently
' kuyn ki papa ne apko ring nehi di' she cries ' sab princess ke paas ring hota hai'
' ohhh' purvi breathes, thinking the best not to tell her that she had a ring until it got washed of my the shower
' aur kavin ke paas ring hai' dushaynt adds
' do you mind if we do this again?' kavin asks, a little embarrassed
' ruko….' Sakshi interrupts and climbs on the chair, putting a tiara on Purvi's head ' now you are a proper princess''
' thank you' purvi laughs nervously
' this was cinderella's ' the little girl mentions and looks up at her father, giving him permission to continue
Kavin darts his eyes at Purvi and takes out a diamond right from his pocket and says ' Purvi' he breathes and she chokes up, straightening her lips to prevent showing herself crying because Sakshi wouldn't be impressed and why is that? Cinderella never cried ' will you be mine forever?'
' no! thik se nehi hua, phir se' saksh jumps, annoyed and says
' okay' kavin laughs, giving Purvi sorry rye and breathes deeply again
' kya tum mujhse shadi karogi Purvi? Because I can't imagine my life without you now, I want to be by your side for the rest of our lives on this earth. I want to see your beautiful smile every morning I wake up, I want to hear your voice, watch you work, and see you putting that pink nail polish.' He laughs making everyone join him and purvi wipes her tears which are for happiness ' I want to share my happiness with you, every day for the rest of our lives' he reaches forward and strokes her cheeks tenderly ' will you marry me?'
She swallows, chocking up, forcing her lips to answer but ends up nodding.
' areh yes bol na hai' dushyant snaps
' yes' purvi blurts and; you are my everything Kavin Malhotra' she shrugs and throws her arms at him, sobbing in his neck and not caring what cinderella did. She must have been hard on her feelings and that's why she didn't cry.
' ab kya hoga?' she asks
' we will live in an enchanted land now' sakshi sings
' and you will be my queen' kavin whispers to purvi
' and you will be my king' she chuckles
' I love you purvi'
' I love you kavin'
Once upon a time, there was a man and a woman,
