Chapter 12
Magnetic Calamity Part 2
Location Unknown
Alex Summers sat an empty space, surrounded by a black void. He couldn't see or hear anything, nor could he remember how he had gotten here. "Wha…?" h muttered as he stood up.
"Aleee…" a raspy voice echoed throughout the void.
Havok whirled around to search for its source but saw nothing but pitch-blackness. "Is someone there?" he asked, hearing his own voice echo back.
"Aleeexxx…" The voice said again. Alex looked all around him but still couldn't find it source. "Who are you?!" he shouted out in anger.
"Allleeexxx…waakkee uuupp…" "What?" Alex asked in confusion as the voice became clearer.
"WAKE UP!"
London, Hospital 6:00 pm
Alex Summers shot up from his bed, gasping for air.
"Guaaaah!" He grabbed hold of the bed's railing to steady himself. He began to take several deep breaths as he felt a pair of soft hands rub his back.
"Alex…you're okay…" Emma Frost said. Trying to soothe her student. "M-Mrs. Frost?" He muttered, surprised to see his head mistress here, wherever here was.
"What…what happened?" he mumbled as he took a sip of water from the glass Frost had just handed him. His throat felt like sandpaper and he realized he must have been dehydrated.
"You were in a coma for about a day." Alex turned his head and saw to his surprise, Charles Xavier smiling at him. "Hello Alex." "Xavier? What are you…? Oh god, is Scott here?!"
"Yes he is." Emma said gently, helping Alex lye back down on the bed. "He was concerned of your condition. He and Logan are out currently looking for Polaris."
"Lorna?! Oh no…" Alex muttered as he grabbed his head, finally recollecting the events that placed him here. "I need to find her!" he said struggling to sit up. Frost gently placed her hand upon his chest and pushed him down.
"You need to rest. Scott and Logan are looking for her, as well as the others. Now rest, you're no good to Lorna dead."
Alex reluctantly followed Emma's advice and laid down on the bed.
Charles smiled for a moment before loud shouting began to emerge from the hallway. Frost stood up from the bed. "What the hell is going on out there?"
Before she could reach the door, a group of men dressed in black business suits entered the room. "Please stand back ma'am." One said as he drew a gun. Frost backed up in shock, preparing to use her powers if necessary. Xavier followed suit, raising his hand to his temple.
"I wouldn't do that Professor Xavier." A feminine voice said. The trio of mutants turned to see Betsy Braddock enter the room followed by a black haired man with stumble on his face wearing a brown trench coat and a black suit underneath (Imagine Castiel from Supernatural).
"My men here are rather trigger happy when it comes to mutants I'm afraid." The black haired woman said without missing a beat.
Xavier lowered his hand while keeping a calm demeanor. Alex on the other hand was sitting up in bed, using his elbow to support himself. "W-what is…this?"
Betsy turned her attention back to the wounded mutant with a frown on her face. "I'm afraid we're going to have to place you under protective custody here at this hospital."
"WHAT?!" Alex roared sitting up further, causing him to grimace as pain shot up his side. "I wouldn't get too worked up kid." Wisdom said as he leaned back against the doorframe. "You got a broken rib and several bruised ones. You're not moving anytime soon."
"Mrs. Braddock, if you could please explain why this is necessary it w—" "We know about Polaris professor." The room went quiet as Xavier sighed in defeat.
"How did y—" "STRIKE's orbital satellites picked up a massive spike in the Electro-magnetic spectrum just before the explosion occurred. We narrowed it down from there." Betsy responded.
"We'll be handling the capture of Polaris while you three stay put here." Wisdom said before walking out of the room.
"This-ugh-isn't her fault!" Alex argued, struggling to stay up. Betsy spared the man a glance before walking to the door.
"We'll do what we can for her. In the meantime, don't try anything smart. My men are trained to resist psychic intrusion. If they feel you inside their heads, they'll shoot you." She said with an all to cheerful voice.
The black haired females strutted out of the room, leaving the three mutants behind with four armed guards standing in the room. They all stood silent as they looked at the group of mutants.
"I hate her." Frost muttered causing Xavier to sigh.
"Well." Frost said as she stood up. One of the men's hand twitched. Frost looked at the man before sighing.
"This is going to be a long day."
London Streets
The motorcycles flew through the streets as the engines roared.
Wolverine and Cyclops had been driving for about thirty minutes as Logan tracked her scent across town. They swerved out of the street as Logan took the lead. They drove towards an older part of London.
"Logan are you sure that she's here?!" Scott roared over the sounds of the engine and the wind whipping across their faces. Logan veered his bike to the left, closely followed by Scott's.
"She's up ahead Cyke."
The two X-Men drove their bikes through the area. They finally stopped their bikes at the front of a destroyed gate leading into a massive rail-yard. The gate was bent inward and torn apart, leaving a ten-meter wide hole in the fencing.
"Your Ex did this?" Logan asked as he sniffed the air twice.
"Lorna's powers are the same as Magneto's. But she's not as powerful as he is." "Just great." Logan grumbled as he stepped through the broken gate towards the crowded field.
Empty or broken train cars surrounded the area, obscuring any clear line of sight. Twisted and broken tracks were scattered across the ground accompanied by nuts and bolts that litter the ground like acorns.
Wolverine and Cyclops moved forward, walking around and through several open or destroyed train cars. Logan unsheathed his claws as he suddenly stopped.
"Logan?" Scott asked as he raised his hand towards his visor, gently resting his index and middle finger on the firing apparatus.
"She's close. Can't be more than a few meters." Logan said as he stepped forward quietly. Cyclops slowly followed as the feral mutant crouched down near the side of an open train car. He peered around the corner and saw a person keeling over on the ground, obviously in pain.
"Lorna!" Scott exclaimed running out from behind the car. "NO! Dammit Scott!" Logan roared before chasing after him.
Scott slid on his knees stopping next to Lorna who was muttering in an incoherent tone.
"Can't stop…murderer….Alex…have to stop…her…too…" Scott slowly reached for her, resting his hand on the girl's shoulder. Lorna looked up with bloodshot eyes, tears streaming down her face.
Scott felt a twinge of pain shoot through his heart. A feeling of guilt that he knew was justified. Despite his love for Jean, he'd be lying if he said he still didn't feel something for Lorna. A lingering attraction or at least a fleeting feeling of their past.
"Lorna…It's me, Scott." He said gently. Logan slowly approached the two and sheathed his claws, not wanting to start a fight if he could help it. A flash of recognition sparked in the girls eyes as she looked up at the face of her former boyfriend.
"Sc-Scott…?" Cyclops gave a reassuring smile as he gently cupped Lorna's face and brought it to his level. "It's me Lorna. I'm here."
Lorna pulled herself back in fright as her head began to throb in pain. "NOOO!
She screamed as she fell face first onto the ground. "LORNA!" Scott exclaimed as he ran to her aid, gently bringing her up to her knees. Polaris rested her head on the man's shoulders as more tears spilled from her eyes.
"P-please…stop me…I can't fight her…she made me kill…Alex is…" she said before she began to sob again, her words dying as she choked on them. Scott gently cupper her chin and raised it so that she stared into his red visor.
"Lorna. Listen to me. Alex is alive. He's going to be okay!" a smile began to form on the girl's relieved face until another detail occurred in her mind. Her smile faded as she asked her next question.
"And the people…?" Scott's reassuring smile died as he realized what she was asking. 84. 84 people had died in the explosion Polaris had caused. Dozens of families had lost loves ones because of the green-haired beauty in front of him.
"Lorna…" Scott said, his reassuring tone dying in his throat. Lorna's face resumed the anxious and terrified look she had when they found her.
"Oh god!" She screamed, covering her mouth as she sobbed. "Are they…" Dead."
"Logan!" Scott snapped as he glared at his feral colleague looming over the two. Lorna broke down into another sob as the news registered with her.
"She needs to know Cyke. Better now than later." Logan said as he kneeled down in front of the girl. "Listen lady…we know you didn't do this on purpose." "I couldn't stop her…" Lorna sobbed out. Cyclops tightened his grip on her shoulder as he wrapped his arm around her in a hug.
"We know Lorna." Scott said trying to sound as reassuring as possible. Logan looked at the girl. "Kid, we need to know, who was the girl? What did she do to you?" Lorna's head began to shake rapidly, her breathing beginning to quicken, startling Cyclops.
"Lorna! Breathe slowly!" "No! Couldn't stop her! Can't stop…" Lorna muttered as bolts and screws began to float around her. Logan saw what was happening and turned to face the enraged face of Polaris. The two locked eyes for a moment, blue eyes met red and black.
"RAAAAAAHHH!" Polaris screamed as Logan was sent flying. Wolverine smashed into the side of a train before his body was spread eagle-wise by Polaris's magnetic powers.
"Logan! Lorna stop!" Cyclops pleaded as he turned to face the mutant in his arms. E recoiled in shock as he saw Lorna's eyes return to the sickening black and red at the restaurant. With a flick of her wrist, a metal cable ripped itself free of the ground and swatted Cyclops away like a fly.
"SCOTT!" Logan roared as he saw his teammate slam into the ground where he tumbled to a stop.
"Ugh…" he groaned as he slowly rose from the ground. His chest armor had taken the brunt of the blow but now sported a nasty gash across the plated armor. He turned around to see Polaris hovering over the ground, her green haired whipped in the wind as her tattered clothes clung to her body.
"I remember you…" she said in a raspy tone as she glared at Cyclops who was still prone on the ground. "Lorna…?" he said, unsure of what was before him.
"I owe you for what you did to me…you destroyed my gorgeous body!" The voice screamed as several metal cars were lifted into te air and sent hurtling towards the X-Man.
Scott tapped the side of his visor, unleashing a stream of crimson energy that smashed through the crates like glass, scattering their remains on the gravel-like ground beneath them.
"Lorna! Stop!" "Lorna's not here anymore!" the voice screamed as the green-haired beauty rose further into the air. Cyclops pressed the side of his visor again and fired off several streams of energy that sailed towards his Ex.
Polaris raised her hand as a slight distortion appeared in the air. The crimson beams slammed into the magnetic shield, clashing against the electro-magnetic field. The beams were continuously blocked by Polaris's force field, allowing her to wave her left hand to send a pile of scrap metal at her aggressor.
Scott saw the incoming projectiles and rolled to the side before returning fire. The beams continued to bounce harmlessly off the field of energy. Scott looked to his left to see a thick stack of solid steel blocks. He aimed his visor at the obstruction and fired. The crimson beam slammed into the block before bouncing off at an angle.
The Blast struck a surprised Lorna who shrieked in pain before recovering in mid-flight. "Gruaaa…"
Polaris glared at Cyclops before she thrust her hand forward. Scott felt the magnetic attack as he was sent hurtling into another train car. He slammed painfully into the metal car as his chest plate was used as a medium. He reached for his visor but two bent steel tracks pinned his arms to the side, rendering them useless.
Logan snarled as he struggled against the invisible force that held his metal skeleton in place. He snarled at the green haired woman who simply closed her fist. Logan cringed in pain as he felt the familiar movement of his adamantium claws slicing through his skin. He could feel his arms moving against his will as they began to bend inward towards his chest.
"Lorna no!" Scott shouted while slamming his thumb down on his fist. His visor opened to release a blast of red energy, which once again bounced off against the force-field with little difficulty.
Logan continued to struggle as his claws came closer to his chest. "Graaah!" He yelled as the claws were thrust into his chest, piercing his heart.
"LOGAN!" Scott roared as he saw his teammate vomit up a poll of blood. "GRUAAAHH!" Logan shouted as his claws remained imbedded in his chest. The mutant's body went limp.
Polaris released the now downed mutant's body, allowing to fall unceremoniously to the ground.
Scott glared up at his ex before firing off another optic blast. Polaris waved her hand, increasing the power behind her force field and watched as the beam bounced harmlessly off the field and towards an oncoming cargo train.
The bema smashed into the moving train, knocking it off the tracks and blasting it into the air. "NOOOO!" Scott wailed as he saw the vehicle head for the ground. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see the grim sight that would occur. A moment past and no sound was heard.
Scott turned to face the now floating train, hovering about 8-feet in the air. Beneath the floating vehicle, stood a black haired teen in a red and white combat suit with thick red jacket rolled up to his sleeves.
"Hey Polaris…" the teen said while positioning the non-moving train back on the tracks. "Let's have a little consideration for public transportation." He said smugly.
A powerful booming noise echoed through the night as a glowing object slammed into Polaris, knocking her out of the air before a massive cyclone formed underneath her, stopping her descent before hurling her to the ground where she bounced along the ground before rolling to a stop.
The glowing orange object rocketed to the ground before smashing into the ground. Out of the cooling crater stepped a man in a yellow and black combat suit with a pair of goggles resting over his eyes. The blond haired teen stepped forward until he was standing a few feet away from the downed girl.
The wind picked up again as a girl wearing a skin tight white and yellow uniform slowly lowered herself to the ground. Her long brown haired wrapped in a ponytail whipped through the air.
Polaris slowly rose from the ground as a large wolf-like creature walked into view, followed closely by a humanoid figure that was completely covered in fire.
"That was a lame pun Hellion." Sunspot said as he walked alongside Wolfsbane.
"Shut up Roberto." Hellion said as he joined Wind Dancer and Cannonball who now surrounded a downed Polaris.
"Hate to do tis girl, but your leaving us no choice!" Wind Dancer said with a Hispanic accent before two miniature cyclones formed in her hands.
London Hospital
The room was deathly quite as The four agents watched the three mutants like hawks, just waiting for them to make a wrong move. Frost sat on the bed next to Havok while occasionally glancing at Charles who sat in the corner with a contemplative look on his face.
Frost sighed in irritation before she stood up from the bed and walked towards the door before a metallic baton shot out in front of her. The agent brandished the baton and kept it level with Emma's neck. The weapon sparked once or twice, indicating that it was also a Tazer.
"Oh please. I'm just getting some coffee. You don't need t go all commando on me." Frost stated irritably. The soldier didn't move in the slightest.
"Great." Frost said as she walked away from the door. She sat down on the bed while Alex sat brooding. "Is there any chance one of you could get us some coffee?" Frost asked only to be met by the silent stares from the agents.
"God dammit all." Emma muttered as the men just glared at her. A knock on the door caught the guard's attention. One of the agents looked at his companion before nodding.
The man headed towards the door, while reaching into his coat pocket to remove his handgun. His left hand gripped the doorknob and slowly opened it. He kept his gun prepped as he fully opened the door.
"Sir!" he said in genuine surprise as Pete Wisdom walked into the room, ignoring his subordinates. He looked at the three mutants before looking at the agents.
"Prep a car for us. We're leaving. Now." "What?" The agent asked in surprise, mirroring the looks of his peers. "Sir…we're supposed to keep them here…agent Braddock gave us orders t—" "Your orders have changed. Prep the car." Wisdom said as he walked towards the bed and looked at Alex's medical chart.
The agents all looked at each other before one stepped forward, gun drawn. He pointed the weapon at Xavier.
Frost stood up as Alex raised his hand, which glowed blue with plasma. "What are you doing?!" Frost exclaimed as the other agents surrounded them.
Wisdom glared at the agents before looking at the one who held a gun to the professor. "What are you doing?" "Sir, what was our code-phrase for this op?" He asked.
Wisdom sighed before looking at the man. "It's Northstar." He said. "What?" the agent asked before being thrown up against a wall. The other agents moved for their guns but were met with a powerful force sending them flying into a wall. They slammed against the thick walls. They all hit the floor with a resounding thud as gusts of wind whipped threw the air, scattering paper and anything that wasn't tied down.
"God!" Xavier muttered in shock as Wisdom turned to look at Alex before he pointed towards the door where a handsome black-haired man leaned against the doorframe wearing a black and white combat suit smiling.
"Hey there handsome, need a lift?" Jean-Paul said jokingly. Alex smiled before turning to look at Wisdom who winked at him. The agent's body began to glow before it shimmered out of existence. His form was replaced by that of a young teen who wore a confidant smirk on his face.
"Hey there hot shot. How's about we go rescue your girlfriend?" Loki said while smirking.
Rail-yard
Lorna Dane sat on the ground as she came around from her erratic behavior. "Ugh…" she muttered as she looked around at her teammates who kept a cautious eye on their deranged peer.
"Polaris…Lorna…are you okay?" Wind Dancer asked as she knelt down next to the green haired beauty as she reached a hand towards the girl.
Lorna slowly looked up as the grogginess began to fade. "Wha…Sophie?" She muttered as she looked at the group of teens that surrounded her. "What's going on?"
Hellion looked at the still trapped Cyclops and downed wolverine before looking at Lorna with a curious look. "Are you serious?! You don't remember any of this?!" Lorna looked at the carnage around her before she looked back at Hellion.
"D-did I do…" "This?" Sunspot asked gesturing to the destruction that surrounded them. "Yeah Chica, you did." A look of mortification formed on Lorna's face. Sophie turned to glare at Sunspot who took a step back. "Care to be any less insensitive?!" She shouted.
"Well…its true." Wolfsbane, who had since returned to her human form of a redheaded girl glared at her boyfriend. "Dick." She muttered.
Hellion looked at Cyclops who looked at his own restrains and fired off an optic blast to free himself. He fell to the ground and landed on his feet before running over to Wolverine. Hellion jogged over to assist him in helping.
"Logan!" Scott turned his mutant peer onto his back and yanked his claws out of his own chest. Hellion turned to look away from the bloody mess before glancing back at it.
"Dude…I'm sorry man. I don't how well you knew each other but…I'm sorry." "Shut up." Scott muttered before slapping Logan in the face once.
"Whoa! Dude he's dead leave him alone!" Scott ignored him before slapping him again. "Wake up Logan. Wake up or I'll throw out your Cuban cigars."
Logan's eyes twitched for a moment before he let out a groan of annoyance. "Gurgh…" he muttered as he slowly rose from the ground as put a hand to his chest wounds which had begun to heal. Hellion backed up in shock at the man's sudden revival.
"What the fuck?! Is he immortal?!" "No…" Logan muttered as he sheathed his claws. "Just damn hard to kill." Logan rose to his feet and walked towards the group of shocked teens.
"He's alive?!" Cannonball muttered in shock. "Jesus I feel like I'm meetin' the New Mutants all over again." He looked down at the confused girl and noticed the lack of red and black eyes. "So is she back to normal?"
"What was wrong with her?" Wolfsbane asked before a blinding flash of green invaded her vision. As the light faded Loki, Northstar, Frost and Xavier appeared.
Alex looked at the downed girl and rushed to her aid.
"Lorna!" He shouted as he knelt down next to her. Lorna's eyes widened as she saw her boyfriend alive and well. Cyclops stood up and looked at his brother who, miraculously, bore no wounds or bruises.
"Alex, how are you here? You had broken ribs." Scott asked trying to Mask his concern. Xavier smiled at this. As much as Scott tried to exclude his brother, he did genuinely care for his wellbeing.
"He's up and running thanks to me." Loki said proudly earning him stares of irritation from his teammates. "What?" Loki asked, hoping to get a rise out of them.
None took the bait and instead turned to frost who walked towards Lorna, currently being cradled in Alex's arms. She knelt down next to the sobbing woman and gently ran her hand through her hair.
"It's alright Lorna…we're here for you." The girl sniffled as Alex held her tight. Cyclops walked forward and knelt down next to his brother.
"Lorna. We need to know. What did that girl do to you?" Lorna looked up with crying eyes at her Ex and tried to form words
"I-I couldn't stop her…she was…" Her words were cut off as a flood of bright lights shined down on the area. A flurry of soldiers armed in heavy SWAT gear equipped with slim and narrow rifles with special ammunition stored inside them.
"What the hell?!" Alex exclaimed as his teammates surrounded him and Lorna. Cyclops raised his hand to his visor while Logan unsheathed his claws. Frost and Xavier looked at the soldiers, eyes narrowing on the STIKE patches stitched onto their uniforms.
The soldiers set themselves up around the group of mutants, several taking a knee firing squad style while others were on the train cars acting as snipers. A dozen red dots trained themselves on the team of heroes, each one locked on a vital.
Two figures looked distinctly similar both wearing suits and trench coats. Pete Wisdom and Betsy Braddock walked forward while flanked by several more Strike Soldiers, all outfitted with the same weapons and armaments as their colleagues.
"By the authority of the STRIKE we herby place Lorna Dane under arrest for mutant terrorism and mass murder." Betsy Braddock said as the soldiers cocked their weapons and placed their fingers on the triggers.
"Braddock! Stop this nonsense!" Xavier shouted out, infuriated at the turn of events.
"You have no authority here Professor Xavier. You and your students have caused enough damage as it is. Not to mention the four agents that you injured upon your escape from custody." Wisdom said. "I don't like being impersonated ya bloody prick."
These words were directed at Loki who's fingers twitched in annoyance.
Alex held Lorna tighter as he and Scott stared defiantly at the soldiers around them.
"You brought metal gun sand bullets to deal with a mutant that can control metal? Not very smart assholes!" Cannonball shouted as he and Hellion glared at the agents in front of them. Wolfsbane and Sunspot activated their powers mutating into a werewolf and lighting on fire respectively.
The agents tightened their grips as they prepared to fire off a salvo of ammunition at the young mutants. Betsy smirked.
"You don't really think that we were that stupid, did you? The rifles are made out of a special polymer. Strong as iron, light as plastic, and non-magnetic." She said while walking towards the group with a confident air around her. Wisdom followed behind her with a more reserved and bored look on his face, although if one looked close enough, they could see his finger were glowing as if they were burning.
"You have no idea what you are messing with…" Scott growled, energy already collecting behind his eyes in anticipation of blasting the woman to bits in sheer rage.
"Oh don't be so melodramatic Mr. Summers. We're taking her into protective custody for her own safety." Braddock said smugly. She removed a circular collar from her coat. The device's core lit up with a bright green glow.
"Power dampener." Logan growled. "Indeed Mr. Logan. And if Mrs. Dane would be kind enough to put this on we c-"
"She's not going anywhere with you!" Alex roared as he held out his right fist, already burning with blue plasma. The other mutants followed suit, preparing their powers for a showdown.
Pete Wisdom sighed and put out his cigarette. His hand glowed brightly for a moment before four knives, made of solid heat, emerged from his hands.
"I was hoping this was going to be easy this time around." He said in his British accent.
"A-Alex…" Lorna muttered drawing her boyfriend's attention. Alex looked down to see Lorna's face contorting in pain. Sweat trickled down her forehead before her eyes shot open, eyes glowing a dark crimson.
"You should be running…" the hoarse voice said before a powerful shockwave repelled all around her, Alex included.
The group was sent flying over the ground, slamming into the STRIKE soldiers sending them into the dirt. Braddock and Wisdom were hurled into a freight car where Betsy slammed head first into the wall. Her body crumpled to the ground as Pete crawled to her assistance, recovering from his own slight injuries.
Cyclops gripped a train track to steady himself before slowly rising to his feet. Alex Followed suit and looked up at his lover in shock. Polaris hovered in the air as several piles of scrap metal began to circle her like a cyclone.
"Lorna! Please Stop!" Alex screamed as he saw his lover envelop herself in shard of twisted metal and steel. Train cars began to rise into the air, taking their place around the magnetic mutant.
"Lorna isn't here anymore lover boy…" The voice shouted out tauntingly. "There is only MALICE!"
Scott's eyes widened underneath his visor, as did Logan's as he heard what the woman had said. Polaris stretched out her right hand before closing it into a fist, sending the cars hurtling towards the ground like meteors.
Havok was still in the way of the wreckage, too stunned by Lorna's behavior to move, even as the train car flew towards him.
"ALEX!" Cyclops screamed before unleashing a beam of energy that smashed into the car, sending it hurtling across the rail-yard. He continued to fire off blast after blast of red lasers at the flying mutant. Polaris waved her hand, throwing up a field of magnetic energy to shield herself from the attacks.
"Scott! What are you doing?!" Alex shouted out as his brother continued to fire upon his teammate and girlfriend. Cyclops swapped his visor to its rapid-fire mode and unleashed a volley of optic blast that pelted the force field relentlessly.
"She's not herself Alex! That's Malice! We need to take her down before she kills anymore people! Otherwise Lorna will never forgive herself!" Cyclops fired off another stream of energy that slammed into the girl's magnetic field pushing her back.
By now the STRIKE agents had recovered enough to aim their weapons and fire. And fire they did. They let loose a hail of bullets (made from the same polymer as the guns) on the floating girl only for a wall of metal junk to intercept them, shielding Polaris from harm.
"Alex if we don't stop her she'll go on a rampage!" Scott pleaded as his brother looked on at the battle raging in front of him. Havok looked at his brother and then at Lorna before lowering his head, His hands burned o life as blue plasma emanated from his flesh.
"Sorry Lorna." He breathed before firing off a blast of intense heat at his lover. The plasma slammed into the metal shield, melting it like butter. Polaris veered to the left, allowing the beams to sail past her before her eyes glowed brighter. Every piece of metal in the yard began to float off the ground and hovered in the air around Polaris.
Using her powers, Lorna twisted the metal into jagged spikes, each one pointed at the group of mutants and humans on the ground below.
"DIE!" She screamed as the metallic barrage rocketed towards the ground. Alex and Scott fired off as many shots as they could to down the projectiles before they felt a sudden force fling them towards the edge of the yard allowing the spike to plummet into the ground leaving it littered with craters.
The two brothers looked up to see an empty sky with no trace of Polaris.
"NO!" Alex roared before he slammed his fist into the ground repeatedly as his older brother watched in retrained rage. Cyclops turned his head to see the Professor Frost and the AoT squad sitting near the edge of the yard, Northstar stood with them, bits of rubble and dust dotting his suit.
"I was able to use my telekinesis to pull you free of the blast area, but I could do little for the soldiers." Charles said grimly as he gestured to the slaughtered remains of what use to be a STRIKE hit squad. Their armor was shredded as shrapnel lay imbedded in their skin. Blood pooled at their feet, joining the scattered drops that already existed on the ground.
"Well the two asshole agents are gonna live." Wolverine said as he walked towards the group with Wisdom trailing behind, an unconscious Braddock in his arms. Logan grunted as he ripped a metal spike out of his back throwing on the ground in annoyance.
Alex's gaze locked on the two agents and his hands burned blue. "You mother fuckers caused this!" he roared barely being held back by his brother.
"Alex! Stop! We don't have time for this! We need to stop Malice!" "Who the hell is Malice?!" Alex screamed in confusion, unable to restrain his emotions.
"Malice is a mutant with the ability to possess others. She should be dead." Xavier said drawing the group's attention towards him.
"I assume that you've dealt with this mutant once before, correct Charles?" Frost asked as her students slowly recovered. Xavier nodded his head as a scowl was present over his normally cheerful and reserved face.
"She was part of a mutant hunting squad. The marauders." He turned his head towards Logan. "Wolverine. Summon the others. They need to know."
And part 2 is done! The next chapter will focus on the past including the battle with the Marauders and how Iceman, Shadowcat and Nightcrawler became true X-Men. Also the loss of Angel's wings will be shown.
