CHAPTER FOURTEEN UNCONDITIONALLY

Peeta breathed in the sweet smell of pine and soap on Katniss's skin, he held her close as she laid on Peeta's chest. Peeta used his index finger to trace Katnisses lips while gently lifting her face to his. Katniss held Peeta to her and started to reach under his shirt feeling the fullest part of his chiselled back. Katniss smiled as Peeta gently continued to kiss her neck.

"Can we just stay in this moment forever?" Katniss said softly.

"We will have even better moments in the future, my love, just think of our honeymoon" Peeta responded.

Katniss kissed Peeta as she slowly parted from his arms. Her body ached for him in such a way that control did not seem possible.

"I know there's only about fifteen days left until the wedding" Katniss mentioned.

"I do not think I can wait that long" Peeta smiled as he pulled Katniss back to the bed.

Katniss followed Peeta's movements in such a fluid motion her hands lifted his shirt over his head as he reached under her top caressing her left and right breast. Katniss smiled eagerly and flipped Peeta over so that she was onto of him. Katniss kissed Peeta's face as she continued down his entire chest. The doorbell rang and Katniss groaned.

"Just forget about it, I'm sure it's just Effie wondering about any last minute wedding arrangements" Katniss said.

She continued to kiss Peeta while the doorbell continued to ring ever 20seconds. Peeta kissed his fiancé slowly and hard, "I'm going to answer the door Katniss, it might be important".

Peeta grabbed his shirt and slowly walked down the long staircase, "I'm coming".

Peeta opened the door to a crying Mrs. Everdeen, "I'm sorry to intrude" she managed to say in-between sobs, " it's just I thought I should come early so I could get more comfortable with coming back to District 12".

"It's no trouble at all Mrs. Everdeen it's so good to see you, let me get Katniss and while I'm upstairs make yourself at home".

Peeta walked upstairs to see Katniss waiting for him to return.

"Are they gone?" Katniss moaned.

"Katniss your mother's downstairs in the living room she came early"

"Peeta I cannot handle seeing her right now. I just want to be with you and learn every part of your body; I cannot wait any longer" Katniss was so disappointed and upset.

"I know you're ready now Katniss but it's your mother and we should wait until the wedding night anyways. I promise I'll make it worth the wait".

Peeta grabbed a soft green dress from the closet and placed it on the bed then he entered the bathroom and dressed himself in a white button down shirt and grey pants. He entered the room as Katniss buttoned the front of her dress.

"Now let me" as Peeta reached for the buttons he slowly fastened each one and kissed Katniss on the forehead "Now be good my dear, for my sake and your sister".

Katniss and Peeta held hands as they walked down the stairs, "Mother!" Katniss said gleefully.

Mrs. Everdeen hugged her daughter, "We should talk, alone" whispered Katniss' mother.

"Peeta do you mind going to see Greasy Sae she still needs the confirmation on the wedding date and the plan for our dinner".

"Of course, I'll see both you and Mrs. Everdeen soon" Peeta said happily.

"Kaniss it pains me to come back her to District Twelve considering all of the painful memories I have here. Now ever since Primroses death I have tried to become a happier person, more involved in society. But I feel like it might help if I had someone I could care for again maybe a grandchild".

Katniss was stunned "No, you have to leave go stay with Effie she's staying at the house two doors down. Oh and another thing never ask me about grandchildren again unless I mention it".

Katniss walked opened the door and dismissively looked at her mother.

"Katniss I'm sorry it's just I'm lonely; I need your sister here. She died too young you can understand that, can't you?"

"Please just leave" Katniss said quickly.

As the door closed Katniss tears hit the floor, she was such an emotional basket case lately. More than anything she wanted Prim back in her life she also wanted Rue, and even Finnick. But her mother had no right to mention a subject so personal considering she was only turning nineteen. Honestly, how could she put so much pressure on her and Peeta? Katniss knew that Peeta would want kids in the future but Katniss was never certain.

Peeta opened the door to see Katniss staring into space.

"Where's your mother?"

"At Effie's".

"Katniss what happed?"

"Oh Katniss" Peeta said while his fiancé started to cry.

"She asked me to have a baby, Peeta she wants us to have a baby! Now I cannot do that, I love you but not now. If the Hunger Games ever happened again I could not handle seeing my children suffer like that. Peeta, how could I even telling them what we had to go through?"

Katniss started to have a flash back of the Jabber Jays repeating Prim's screams. Katniss held her ears and started to scream.

"Katniss, Katniss, its ok I'm here nothing's wrong you're having a flashback, just breath. Katniss breathe".

"Peeta, Peeta, Katniss do not every leave me" Katniss cried as her head lay on Peeta's shoulder.

"Never my love, I will always be here for you. Katniss I do not want you to feel pressured into having children, when were ready then we will have kids. And if you do not want to have children I'll understand, you do not owe me or your mother anything".

"I know Peeta but I just want everything to be good again".

"Katniss just let it go, were all going through a lot and you need to just accept the past and focus on the future. Greasy Sae was telling me that the children at the school were still eager to learn more about archery. You should get back to your routine and let Effie and I take care of the wedding arrangements".

"I know, Peeta your right".

Katniss smiled and kissed Peeta before she reached for the door.

"Where are you going?" Peeta questioned.

"Hunting, I think I need some more routine don't you?" Katniss laughed as she grabbed her father's jacket. Katniss also grabbed a pair of old pants and boots to slip over her dress.

As she walked into the safety of the woods Katniss knew that her love with Peeta would be eternal and every obstacle they faced would be resolved through their love.
