Holmes POV
11/14 belonged
I`d watched him grieve at Reichenbach,
And almost changed my mind,
Aware, as he reread my note,
Of what I`d left behind.
I confided in my brother,
I needed his support.
But not informing Watson,
Was harder than I`d thought.
He was my greatest alibi,
A truly grieving friend,
Who`d write a moving, heartfelt tale,
Of my untimely end.
Although it was a sacrifice,
I think he understood,
That leaving him in ignorance,
Was for the greater good.
I would, of course, apologise,
If somehow he`d been wronged.
For now he seemed content,
That I was back where I belonged.
