"Doctor Rip Studwell, what's wrong with her?" asked Wanda
After arriving at the hospital, Blonda was immediately whisked away from her family in order for Doctor Rip Studwell to perform a battery of tests on her. Cosmo, Wanda, Timmy, and Poof all remained out in the waiting room in the meantime where the godmother sat restlessly like a hyperactive child. If she wasn't pacing she was fidgeting in her seat, and if she wasn't fidgeting she was pacing. Wanda wanted answers and she wanted them now; however, she knew that she would have to at least attempt to be patient lest her family go insane due to her nervous habits.
To Wanda's surprise, after about only thirty minutes, Doctor Studwell reappeared in the waiting room to retrieve her and her family. Since they had brought Blonda to the hospital, and since she was currently in their care, the doctor led them all into the actress' hospital room where they found her sitting in bed with an IV in her arm, looking thoroughly exasperated; she wasn't throwing up anymore, at least, and that caused Wanda to relax slightly. But the actress had to have been throwing up for a reason, and it was finally time to find out what that was.
"Well, Wanda, it would appear that Blonda is literally worrying herself sick," the handsome male looked up from his clipboard. "She's under an exorbitant amount of stress at the moment, and it's causing her to become physically ill. She won't keep anything down. Her body is rejecting food because of all the stress she is putting herself under due to her pregnancy. Unfortunately if she doesn't eat, the baby won't receive the nutrients it needs."
"So what can be done?" the godmother frowned.
"We can feed her intravenously for a while – that's what we're doing at the moment. This way both she and her baby will stay healthy. As for worrying herself sick, there's really nothing we can do. She just has to calm down. If she can't do that, she'll have to stay here for the remainder of her pregnancy, and we all know how she feels about that."
Blonda scoffed from her hospital bed as she folded her arms over her chest in a huff.
The doctor continued, "So long as she has no more upsets, I think we'll be able to calm her nerves."
No sooner than the words had left the male's lips, Cupid suddenly poofed angrily into the room, causing most everyone to turn and stare in confusion as the color drained from the blonde's face.
"Cupid? What are you doing here?" Wanda furrowed her eyebrows at the male.
"You're pregnant?" he asked Blonda, clearly annoyed. He took the pained expression on her face as a yes. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Why should I have?" she immediately barked in defense, regaining her uppity composure.
"Why?" Cupid gawked. "I don't know, Blonda. Maybe because it's my baby!"
"Cupid? You're the father?" Wanda's eyes bulged in shock.
"Dude, I could have told you that. It's here on page thirty-five," Timmy held up the article for her to see.
"Whoa, really?" Cosmo beamed excitedly. "Cupid and Blonda are having a baby? That's so cool!"
"Poof!" the young fairy agreed.
"So that's how this happened," mused the handsome doctor as he thumbed through the sheets on his clipboard. "Cupid is a different species, so the magic of the Fairy Council doesn't affect him."
"A different species? But he's the fairy of love, isn't he?" Timmy raised an eyebrow.
"People may call him that, but Cupid's actually the god of love," Wanda reminded the brunette.
"Oh yeah!" the boy exclaimed in excitement. "I forgot about that!"
"Shut up!" Blonda suddenly snapped at the boy, causing him to reel back.
"Hey!" her sister scolded her. "There's no need to speak to Timmy that way!"
"What in the world made you think I wouldn't care that you were carrying my child?" Cupid demanded, once again ignoring everyone else in the room.
"Why should you?" Blonda shrugged.
"Because it's mine, Blonda!" Cupid motioned toward himself in exasperation. "Do you even know how I found out about your pregnancy? I opened my bedroom door to find every single one of my cherubs crowded into the hallway and demanding to know how I could do this! The thing was, I had no idea what they were talking about! It wasn't until one of them threw a magazine at me that was emblazoned with the headline, 'Blonda Pregnant!' that I finally understood what they were upset about! That was how I found about this, Blonda! Getting a magazine chucked in my face!"
"Trust me! Being told in person isn't much better!" the actress snarled.
Cupid sighed in frustration.
"Why didn't you tell me about this? And why didn't you tell me about it two months ago?"
"I didn't even know I was pregnant two months ago! If you hadn't noticed, fairy babies have been banned! Being pregnant was not at the top of the what's-wrong-with-me list!"
"Fine. Fair enough," Cupid conceded while folding his arms over his chest. "But you still should have told me after you found out."
"I don't need to tell you anything!" the actress yelled while slamming her fists down on the bed beside her. "I don't need to tell anyone anything!"
"So what? You were just secretly going to have our child?" the god raised an eyebrow. "Did you think no one would notice?"
"They weren't going to," Blonda mumbled.
"How?" Cupid placed his hands on his hips.
The actress huffed as she folded her arms across her chest and looked away.
"Blonda, you don't have to go through this alone. I can help you," he continued calmly.
"I don't want your help! I think you've done enough!" her eyes flitted toward her stomach.
Cupid frowned.
"Well, you don't have a choice in this matter. I'm not abandoning my child."
Blonda looked the male up and down. There was so much conviction in his voice. About as much conviction as whenever she said that she didn't want this baby.
"Wait…are…are you saying that you actually want to have a baby?" Blonda's jaw dropped.
"Does that notion seem odd to you?" Cupid raised an eyebrow.
"You don't really seem like the type that would want a baby. I mean, you've certainly never expressed any interest in them."
"Yes, well I spend most of my time around fairies. Babies aren't typically brought up in conversation, are they? But just because I have never explicitly stated that I would like to be a father, that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to be one."
"You? A father?" Blonda suddenly chuckled.
"What's so funny?" Cupid frowned.
"Do you even know what a child means?"
"Enlighten me," the diapered male spoke flatly while raising an inquisitive eyebrow.
"It's the end of the line. You can't do anything anymore if you have one. No more parties. No more fun. No more alone time. Nothing."
"Oh, please," he rolled his eyes. "You're overreacting."
"I think you're under reacting!"
"A baby is not the end, Blonda! It's literally a new beginning."
"Oh yeah? Look at them!" Blonda motioned toward her sister and her family, who Cupid had forgotten were even there.
"Hey!" Wanda snapped.
"What about them?" Cupid creased his brow.
"They are the epitome of boring!"
"Hey!" they all shouted.
"Poof!" cried the baby in protest.
"They aren't boring, Blonda," the god of love stared at the actress incredulously.
"Do you see them living lavishly? Do they go out? Do they have nice things? No. All they do is spend time with their kids. All day, every day! It's disgusting."
"They're fairy godparents. Their job is to spend time with a child all the time. That's what they're there for! That doesn't make them boring."
"Oh, please," the celebrity scoffed.
"You can't base their merits on your own, Blonda. They're different people. They're more down-to-Earth than you. Maybe they don't need a fancy house, expensive clothes, or wild parties to be happy. They have a godson, they have a biological son, and they have each other. That doesn't make you better than them, and it certainly does not mean that they are boring. They all have plenty of good times, Blonda. Having a baby did not turn your sister and her husband into resentful, pitiful souls."
Blonda rolled her eyes.
"So they were like that before they had a baby. It just turned them into even bigger resentful, pitiful, boring people!"
"Blonda!" cried the pink-clad male as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Doctor Studwell," one of the nurses flew in, interrupting the conversation.
"Yes?" he answered, relieved for the interruption. The tension in the room was nearly so thick that the handsome doctor was afraid he was going to choke on it.
"There's a mob of poofarazzi in the waiting room."
"What? How'd they get inside?"
"They can't see me like this!" Blonda cried in horror, hiding under the blankets.
"They're not going to," the doctor assured her. "They're not allowed to be in here. I'll take care of this. Excuse me."
The raven-haired male followed his nurse out the door, closing it behind them.
"I can't believe this," Blonda pulled the covers off her with a whimper.
"Yeah? Well, you're not the only one," admitted Cupid.
"My life is spiraling out of control," the actress whined, "and for what? So that in one more month, I'll have a little brat taking up all my time for the next thousand years?"
"I bet you'll feel differently once it's born," Cupid pointed out.
Blonda screamed in frustration, causing everyone to wince.
"I can't believe I have to survive one more month of this…this…"
"Pregnancy?" the god finished for her.
Realization suddenly seemed to strike the actress like a lightning bolt.
"I'm going to get…get even bigger…" she breathed.
"That's typically what happens when someone is pregnant…" Cupid spoke.
"I'm going to be huge by the time this is all over," the star began to hyperventilate.
"Oh no. Blonda, calm down," Wanda flew over to her side, placing her hands on her sister's shoulders.
"I'll be so huge! Big and beautiful do not go together!"
"Blonda, don't get worked up over this!" Wanda warned. "You're not going to be so huge, Honey. You'll be fine. I promise."
"No, I won't! I'll look like you!" Blonda shoved her sister away.
"Blonda, you have to calm down!" Wanda ignored the insult. "You know what the doctor said! If you get worked up, you'll…"
The pink-haired female was interrupted by her sister leaning over the bed and vomiting on the floor.
"…worry yourself sick," Wanda finished quietly.
Poof and Timmy exchanged disgusted faces with one another as Cupid frowned in worry.
"You're worrying yourself sick?" he asked.
"Big isn't beautiful," Blonda sobbed. "How could this get any worse?"
As if on cue, Blonda and Cupid were suddenly transported out of the hospital room, leaving the rest of the individuals in a confused stupor.
"What happened? Where'd they go?" asked Timmy.
Wanda gulped as she put two and two together.
"The news about Blonda and Cupid just broke all over Fairy World. Everyone in Fairy World now knows about it. Everyone."
"So what does that mean?"
Wanda looked at her godson gravely as she picked up her son and hugged him closely.
"It means they're in big trouble."
