It takes me a while to have a chapter written reviewed and tweaked till I find it worthy of posting. While there are some readers who find fault with my particular interpretation of Inuyasha's personality I would like to present what I found after watching the series many times. I love how it ended, the way all events fell into place but the character growth of Inuyasha was out of place. It was far to rapid for someone with his track record, while yes there have been many hardships that caused him to grow up, including: Kikyo's death which while beautiful hardly makes up for all of her antics and Inuyasha's basic torture of Kagome, and watching Sango and Miroku start a family. I still find it hard to believe that he suddenly overcame all his faults in four years.

Change in the plot:

Kikyo survived. She didn't die. What then, who would Inuyasha chose? He made his choice very clear when she was dying in his arms and he kissed her. Even when Kagome approached him after she disappeared he made his confession that he wanted to protect her forever, yes I understand he said she was the "first woman he loved" but think back on this. If she had lived would Kagome really of had a chance for him to love her? Not very likely.

As to the so called "bashing" I feel I have covered that. Onto the next one Kagome being a super demon.

Throughout the series we she her grow in many ways but in others she remains irritably the same and does not grow. While she grows in power it is nothing if she were paired against an opponent in single combat. She continues to be a concern for kidnapping and typical damsel which is perfect for Inuyasha to step up and save. However for it to even be plausible for Sesshomaru to court her without a great deal of upheaval within demon politics, which is never fully addressed within the series to a degree that I feel would explain a lot. With Kagome becoming a demon a lot of doors are opened within the stories plot line. She can go do things on her own, she is able to go to different depths of power that remove her from Kikyo's shadow entirely, and so on and so forth. While I usually find fault with super charging a character to make them invincible it is not my intent to turn Kagome into that type of character. She is still human and far more emotional than most characters on the show which is an asset to her.

So if there are any more concerns on my bashing or super demon just let me know and I'll see if I can form a clearer "picture" for those to follow.

Just a few thoughts on what Inuyasha's perspective may have been like.

When I opened my eyes to the smell of her blood. The woman that had killed me in more ways than one and she was coming closer. I saw her falling in front of my tree. She was as beautiful as the day she shot me. Her hair still soft, her soul still etched with determination, her eyes still scorched my soul as they looked up at me. I hated her for taking my heart and I wanted to kill her. "Hello Kikyo."

After Kagome's soul was spilt and I saw Kikyo again, I could see how different they were. Kagome was like a fire, at moments tame and docile giving warmth to the cold chill of reality and the next a raging fire destroying everything in her wake. Kikyo...my Kikyo was more of a river shaping the world around her to her whims, at times soft and nurturing. Then at others a raging tempest rising over her banks to sweep across the land. She was cool where Kagome was burning, how could I have mixed them up? Kagome flitted from one emotion to the next without restriction where as Kikyo was composed and commanding. One a girl and one a woman, but now their hearts were also opposed. One bent on dragging me into the pits of hell with her and the other desperately trying to save me. I loved Kikyo before and I still do but Kagome is the warmth I always lacked...maybe the choice is easier than I thought.
