Will and Alicia
The damp smell of the hangar hit him like a punch in the face. As Alicia's troubled eyes came to his, his heart came to his throat where both relief and pain at her state mixed undefinably. If anyone had a monitor onto their thoughts, they would probably see that they were alikely intricate with the painful memory of that suicide day on campus.
It all came to him on flashes, him finding his roommate with his wrists slut and then discovering Alicia thought he was gone.
He had felt like Lady Macbeth, like he couldn't wash the blood off of his hands, her blood. The sight fate had reserved for him was yet again agonizing. Her hands were cuffed to the bars of an old rusty bed. She was cupped up probably to instinctively shield herself from the piercing December cold. She seemed in a daze as he tried desperately to get someone to take the manacles off of her. Fortunately someone did come to him and freed her.
Her lips were parched signaling severe dehydration and her head hung limp like it had no relation with her body, none whatsoever. He called her name trying not to choke in his own tears.
'Alicia? Baby, it's Will. It's me...'
The EMT by his side was checking his vital signs. She had opened her eyes but they were glazed over and icy as if coming from the depth of the kingdom of Hades. He grabbed her hand and her coldness cut through him too.
'Alicia? Answer me please. You're gonna be fine, okay?'
'Sir we have to take her to the hospital quickly.' The EMT stated trying to pull him away, but Will was determined to see whether she could still react.
'No, wait. Is she gonna be alright?' He asked breaking his arm free.
'It's too early to tell, but please just let us do our jobs.'
'Then I am coming with you.' Will replied in his lawyer tone demanding cooperation as if it was his by right.
The young man just nodded and got on the ambulance after the stretcher they had put Alicia in was as well. Will followed him, but before he could sit Kalinda grabbed his arm.
'What are you doing?'
Her piercing eyes scanned him coolly.
'You can't go with her.' She stated matter-of-factly.
'Of course I can.' He replied and sat. 'It's Alicia we're talking about.' And he nodded to the driver to go.
'Yeah, the Governor's wife.' Kalinda replied.
Will stared at her hatefully and decided to defy her stubbornly anyway. However when the ambulance doors were closing, he knew he couldn't ride along.
Not with her children waiting at the hospital. Not with Peter waiting there.
He looked at Alicia again and then placed a kiss on her forehead before jumping out. Kalinda didn't look at him for which he was glad. But he had another favor to ask.
'Hey.' He grabbed her arm turning her to him. It was a little forceful, but he knew she wouldn't mund. 'Thank you. You just saved her life.'
She just assented expressionlessly and tried to leave.
'I know I had to leave her just now, but she needs me.'
'You sound sure of yourself.' She replied dryly knowing exactly where this was headed.
'I am gonna need your help again.' He said and yeah, he was totally certain this time.
Northwestern Memorial hospital

Serena Bramen, MD
The common room was abuzz with the rumor of the Governor's wife having been rescued. Most were glad. The public opinion liked the fact she had forgiven her husband. Serena Bramen MD, was the only one that wasn't talking lively about some aspect of the gossip at hand. She was Alicia Florrick's doctor so her colleagues didn't ask her about the notorious patient's condition. Not a problem, because she wasn't a particularly talkative person anyway. She was just out of surgery and hadn't informed Governor Florrick about his wife's condition yet. She and her baby were favored by destiny it seemed, lucky to be alive. She took her cap off and walked out of the room letting the peaceful sounds of the hospital wash her ears. All the floor was locked up to take precautions due to their famous guests. She walked toward the man standing in front of the ICU.
'Governor Florrick?'
He looked at her worriedly.
'I am Dr. Bramen, your wife's doctor.'
'Yes, I know. How is she?' He asked returning his eyes to the ward.
'She was severely dehydrated. Lack of food and water made her blood pressure drop precipitously, but miraculously the baby did not suffer the consequences. She should be able to recover promptly.'
Serena saw the Governor's face changed like the sky during a summer drizzle.
'What baby are you talking about?'
The question fell over her head as a bucket of cold water. 'Crap!' She thought to herself. There was no getting out of this one.
'Yes, sir, your wife is pregnant.'
His joyous eyes met hers and she tried to offer him a smile of reassurance.
'And you said the baby is fine as well?' He asked looking at her patient with a whole different light now.
'Yes, Governor.' Dr. Bramen replied and after agreeing to him seeing Alicia, she left.
Peter made his way inside feeling blessed that his child and Alicia were going to be okay.

Will
Over the last couple of days, he had concluded that either destiny had a sense of humor or God was ironic. Probably both, he thought to himself as he snuck in the hospital for the second time in his life. He could get used to those scrubs. He walked to the main elevator and tried to look busy and spontaneous. Easy to say; the hospital seemed a jungle to him, even at the hour. As he waited for the elevator doors to open for what it seemed like an eternity, he remember what Kalinda had said about pretending he was in court. Well, the blue colored scrubs certainly didn't help. The doors opened revealing a young woman wearing his scrubs' twin color. She was slim, her chocolate-colored hair resembled Alicia's and had deep emerald eyes. She offered him a smile before getting out. He practically ran inside but then heard someone call the woman in front of him so he waited before pressing the number.
'Serena? Were you at the Governor's wife?'A boy wearing aquamarine scrubs approached her in a hurry. Probably a resident Will thought to himself having learnt to judge hospital hierarchy.
She turned around.
'Yup, just checked on her.'
'Go up again.'
She raised her eyebrows gracefully waiting for more information but the resident blocked the elevator sensory doors and murmured.
'There's a missing pair of scrubs down in the pit.' He murmured casting Will a short glance.
Serena followed him in the elevator.
Cold swear covered Will's hands as the elevator ride seemed infinite. He couldn't get down on Alicia's floor now. They would immediately spot him. He had to find another way.
It took him a few moments, but then he rolled his eyes around and he knew who could help him.
