A/N: The first of two short chapters. Here we start to see a small change in Morrible's role.
Disclaimer: I don't own Heroes or Wicked.
(Some time later in the year. Gabriel is out walking in the rain. A woman who looks just like Angela, except with graying hair, walks toward him.)
Woman: Mister Gray, there you are!
Gabriel: Madame Shaw...
Woman: Actually no, I'm Angela's twin sister, Alice. I'm here on behalf of the Wizard!
Gabriel: The Wizard?
Alice: Yes, he wishes to meet you!
Gabriel: (surprised) He asked for me?
Alice: Yes! I know how devastated you were the other day for your poor Doctor Suresh, but I can assure you my dear, as one door closes, another one opens. (She hands him an envelope.)
Gabriel: Madame, I don't know what to say! How can I ever thank you? (He hugs her.)
Alice: Be careful dear, we're getting wet. Oh, I know! (She looks at the sky and concentrates. The rain stops, the clouds clear, and the sun appears. Gabriel turns back to her, gaping.) Didn't I tell you? Weather is my specialty. Best of luck! Make me and my sister proud.
Gabriel: I will, I'll try.
(Alice exits. Gabriel looks off into the distance with a small smile.)
Gabriel:
AND THERE WE'LL FINALLY BE,
THE WIZARD AND I...
(We fade out and fade back in on a train station. Peter and Gabriel stand near an open car.)
Conductor: All aboard!
Peter: Remember, eye contact. And don't forget to tell him how wonderful he is, Wizards love that! And be yourself...(he considers) well... within reason.
(Elle wheels Nathan over to them.)
Nathan: Gabriel, I'm so proud of you, and I know father would be too. We're all proud, aren't we?
Gabriel: (concerned) You'll be all right, won't you?
Peter: He'll be fine! Ellie here will take care of him, right?
Elle: ...It's Elle... (angry) I...I can't do this anymore. (She exits.)
Nathan: (weary) Elle...
Peter: Nathan, maybe she's just not the right one...for you.
Nathan: No, it's me that's not right. Gabriel, just go, I'll be fine. (He wheels himself after her.)
Gabriel: Nathan, wait!
Peter: Let him go. He'll have to manage without you. We all will.
Gabriel: Please, you'll barely even notice I'm gone. Besides, you have Claire. Where is she, anyway? (quickly) Not that I expected her to say goodbye to me. We barely know each other.
Peter: I don't know her either. She's distant, and moody, and she's been thinking, which really worries me. I never knew how much she cared about that old goat.
(Claire enters, looking around for them.)
Peter: Oh, there she is! Claire, over here, honey!
Claire: (She hands Gabriel flowers.) Gabriel, I'm happy for you.
Peter: Yes, we are both so happy...
Claire: (awkwardly running hands through her hair) Uh, listen, I've been thinking...
Gabriel: Yes, I've heard.
Claire: About Knox and...everything. I think about that day a lot.
Gabriel: (with happiness) Really? So do I.
Peter: (cutting in) Me too! Poor Doctor Suresh. It makes one want to...uh...take a stand. So I've been thinking of...uh...changing my name.
Claire: Your name?
Peter: Well, yes! Since Doctor Suresh had his own way of pronouncing my name, in solidarity and to express my outrage, I want to go by a new name. So you can just call me Pete!
Claire: (looking like she can't believe him) Oh well, that's very admirable of you...Pete. (to Gabriel) Uh, Gabriel...good luck. (She runs off.)
Peter: See what I mean?
Gabriel: Peter...
Peter: It's Pete now. (He chuckles) It was a stupid idea, I don't even know what made me say it.
Gabriel: It doesn't matter what your name is, everyone loves you!
Peter: I don't care! I want her. I don't even think she's perfect anymore and I still want her. (looking worried) This must be what other people feel like. How do they stand it? Oh, you need to get going! (He pulls Gabriel into an embrace.)
A/N: Not sure how changing your name does much of anything, Peter, but I guess that's the point.
