I do NOT own Teen Wolf

Emma's POV

I decided to have a movie night by myself. None of my movies were good enough so I decided to go on an adventure to find a movie rental place. I found one not too far away and decided to walk. It was a nice night and I was dressed pretty comfortably. It was a Sunday night and my mom was working another night shift which meant I was home alone. I was wearing gray yoga pants and a purple v-neck. I walked into the parking lot of the video store and there was one car in the lot. I walked into the store and heard Jackson.

"Hello? Can anyone help me find The Notebook?" he asked.

"Hey Jackson," I said.

He jumped and turned around, "What are you doing here?"

"Probably the same thing you are but I'm definitely not looking for The Notebook," I said beginning to look at the movies.

"Does anyone work here?" Jackson asked still looking around the store. He walked up to an idle and stopped in his tracks.

"What?" I asked and he pushed me back, "Jackson, what is it?"

Then I saw it. A body with his throat slashed out. I stepped back slowly and fell into the ladder. The light above me went out and the store was pitch black. I heard it before Jackson did. The growling, it was so loud. I jumped behind one of the shelves and lied on the ground. Jackson looked at me and then did the same when he heard it.

I covered my mouth and tried to slow my heartbeat. The shelves began to fall. I crawled away and tried to get to the exit. I was reaching up to the door handle when I knew it was behind me. I turned around and looked at it. It was the scariest thing I have ever seen. It raised its hand and threw me away from the door. I flew into one of the shelves. I looked down at my chest and saw that I had three claw marks through my shirt and I was bleeding. The alpha looked at me and began to walk towards me. I thought I was going to die. I closed my eyes and waited for the blow to hit me. But it never came. Instead, I heard glass breaking and hitting my face. Then I heard Lydia scream. I instinctively put my hands up and covered my face. I opened my eyes and peaked through my fingers. It was gone. I stood up and went to help Jackson.

"Are you okay?" I asked him, helping him up.

"Yeah. Are you?" he asked. I nodded, "Emma, you're bleeding."

I looked down and it was still bleeding. It wasn't healing. I wasn't healing myself. I started to panic but then I heard the sirens. I helped Jackson out of the building. We were exiting just as the cop cars and the ambulances were pulling up.

I was rushed over to an ambulance by one of the EMTs. I let them look at me because honestly I was still terrified. I wasn't healing. An alpha scratched me. The alpha knows that I exist.

I saw the sheriff walk up to Jackson and try to convince him to get checked by the EMTs but Jackson was having none of it.

"What part of 'I'm fine' don't you understand!" Jackson yelled.

"Whoa, is that a dead body?" Stiles asked.

Shit. Stiles was here. The sheriff looked into the ambulance that I was sitting in. He came over and I knew he was going to ask me what I saw. The EMTs had taken my shirt off and put a blanket over my shoulders so they could bandage my chest.

"Hi Emma. I have a couple of questions for you," he said.

"Emma?!" Stiles shrieked.

His dad turned to look at him. I heard him running towards the ambulance. I tried to wrap the blanket around me more but the EMT pushed it back.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, finally coming into view.

"I was going to rent a movie," I said, matter-of-factly.

He sighed, "I figured that much!"

"Stiles, go back to the car," his dad said.

"Actually, can he stay?" I asked, wanting him here.

He nodded and Stiles moved to stand by me, "So what happened here?"

I told the sheriff the whole story, leaving out the alpha parts. The EMTs were still checking me out for anything too bad. I felt uncomfortable sitting without a shirt on and I think the sheriff could tell.

"That's all I'll need. Thank you, Emma. I'm going to call your parents," he said turning around.

"No!" I shrieked. The sheriff turned back alarmed, "I mean my mom is in surgery right now. I don't want to interrupt her. I'm fine really."

"What about your father?" he asked.

I looked at Stiles and saw that his eyes were wide and he was shaking his head. I turned back to the sheriff, "Um, my dad died."

The sheriff turned bright red, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know."

"Its fine," I said shaking my head and looking down.

"Well at least let Stiles drive you home," the sheriff said.

I nodded, "That would be great. Thanks."

The EMTs had finally finished bandaging me up. I went to put my shirt back on and Stiles stopped me. He took off his plaid button up and handed it to me. I looked at him and pushed it towards me. I took it and put it on. I buttoned it up and Stiles held out his hand to help me out of the ambulance. I took it and got down.

"Thank you," I said.

"It's no big deal. Do you want shotgun?" he asked gesturing towards the sheriff car.

I nodded and headed over to the car. The drive to the Stilinski house was quiet. We pulled into the driveway and Stiles was trying to get out of the backseat but he couldn't. I turned and looked at him. He stopped pulling on the door handle and smiled at me. I got out and opened his door. I walked over to the Jeep and got in. He quickly followed after me and his dad pulled out of the driveway. He got in and started the car. He pulled out of the driveway and started heading towards my house.

"I'm not telling me mom," I whispered.

"What?" he asked looking at me.

"I'm not telling my mom about what attacked me."

"Why not?" he asked, confused.

"She will freak out. I'll just tell her that it was a mountain lion."

He nodded, "Are you okay?" I shook my head, "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Honestly, I'm too terrified to talk about it."

"Did you heal?"

I unbuttoned the shirt a little and looked down, "No. I didn't."

"What?! Why aren't you healing?!" he shrieked.

"I don't know!" I snapped. Stiles jumped and turned back to the road, "I'm sorry. I'm just freaking out right now."

Stiles didn't say anything else for the rest of the ride to my house. When he pulled in the driveway, I expected him to just drive away.

"Are you going to be okay?" he asked looking at me.

I shrugged, "That's a pretty complex question."

"I meant tonight. Alone. Without your mom here?"

"Oh, um, not really. But it's fine. I'm used to it," I said getting out of the car.

"I could, uh, stay," he said looking at me with puppy dog eyes, "I mean if you want me to."

"I would like that," I said nodding.

He jumped out of the Jeep and followed me to the house. I unlocked the door and we walked in. I put my shoes in the cabinet and Stiles did too. We went up to my room.

"Do you want anything to drink?" I asked him.

"No, I'm good."

"Do you need pajamas or anything?"

He blushed and scratched the back of his neck, "Um, I usually sleep in my boxers…"

"Oh. Okay then. Well I'm going to go get ready for bed," I said turning to the bathroom.

I got dressed in shorts and one of my dad's old Mets t-shirts. I walked out of the bathroom and Stiles was still standing in the doorway.

"Are you sure you're okay with this?" he asked awkwardly.

"Stiles, you're sleeping over. Literally sleeping. We aren't going to do anything tonight. Okay?"

"Okay."

"Now get ready for bed," I said turning back to my bed. I turned back the covers and plugged in my phone. I turned back around to turn the light off and Stiles was standing there in his boxers.

"Are you sure?" he asked again.

"Stiles! Just get in the freaking bed."

"Right," he said smirking.

I turned off the light and went back to my bed to lie down. I got under the covers and finally relaxed.

"Does your chest hurt at all?" he asked.

"Kind of," I said turning to face him.

"I'm sorry this happened to you. I wish I could have been there."

"So you could have gotten hurt too?" I snorted.

"No, so I could protect you," he whispered.

I smiled, "You can't protect me all the time."

"I know but I still want to," he said looking into my eyes.

"Goodnight Stiles," I said turning back around.

"Goodnight Emma," he said back.

Stiles' POV

I woke up completely rested. I don't think I have ever slept that well in my life. I was holding something to my chest. I opened my eyes and saw that the something that I was holding to my chest was Emma. I forgot that I had slept over last night. I watched Emma sleeping. She looked so pretty. Her hair was tucked behind her ear and her lips were puckered together. I just wanted to kiss her. I watched her sleep for a little bit longer and then she started to move.

"Stiles?" she said her voice groggy with sleep.

"Yeah?"

"Oh, you are awake," she said turning around to face me.

"Yeah, I'm gonna get going," I said moving to get out of the bed.

"I should probably get ready for school," she said getting out of bed.

"You're going to go to school today?" I asked her surprised.

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I go?"

"You got seriously hurt last night! You were attacked by the alpha!" I said flailing my arms.

"You don't think I know that?" she said softly, "My mom is working again today so I would just be home alone and I don't want to be alone. So I'm going to school."

I nodded, "Do you want me to come back and give you a ride to school?"

She nodded and went into the bathroom. I took that as my cue to leave. I got dressed and left her room. I went downstairs and left her house. I raced home and luckily, my dad's car wasn't in the driveway. I got dressed as quickly as I could. Then I ran down the stairs and got back in my Jeep to go pick up Emma.

I texted her to tell her that I was outside. She came out in jeans, a red spider-man t-shirt, and a black leather jacket. Her hair was braided and she had no makeup on. She went through hell last night and you could tell how tired she was. She climbed into the Jeep and reached for the seatbelt but then she gasped in pain.

"Are you okay?" I asked worried.

"Yeah, it's just the scratches," she said reaching for the seatbelt with her arm closest to it.

"They still aren't healed?"

"No, I think it is because they are from an alpha. I don't think I will heal at magical pace this time," she said shaking her head.

"I'm really sorry."

"Stiles, stop apologizing. I'm fine. At least for now."

"You will be fine because Scott and I will protect you."

"You keep saying that," she said looking at me and smiling.

"That's because it's true."

We pulled into the parking lot and I parked the car. Emma got out and walked to the front of the car. She was just standing there, not doing anything.

"You sure you want to go today?" I asked turning her to face me.

"I'm positive," she said smiling.

We started walking towards the school. We saw Scott walking next to us.

"Emma! Are you okay?" Scott asked.

"Yeah, how did you know about the attack?" she asked.

"I was there with Derek. We were on the roof," he said matter-of-factly.

"What?! Why?!" I asked.

"We tracked the alpha there," he said.

"I'm going to go to my locker," Emma said, excusing herself from our group.

"Is she okay?" Scott asked.

"I don't know. She doesn't want to talk about it. He scratched her chest really badly though and she isn't healing. She is terrified that he is going to hunt her down now that he knows about her. She slept all last night though so I don't think she is having nightmares or anything," I explained.

"She isn't healing?"

"No, she thinks it is because the alpha hurt her. I think it might be psychological."

"Wait. How do you know that she slept all last night?" he asked, stopping by his locker.

"Um, cause I might have, um, spent the night," I said scratching the back of my neck.

"You spent the night?!" he yelled closing his locker.

"We didn't do anything. Like anything, at all. She just didn't want to be alone last night," I said shaking my head.

"Oh, that makes sense I guess."

"Yeah. I'm going to go look for her," I said walking away from Scott. I couldn't find Emma before the bell rang so I assumed she was in class already. I walked in and she wasn't there. She didn't show up all class period and neither did Scott. I was alone in English.

Emma's POV

After I left the boys to go to my locker, I was paged to the office. The guidance counselor wanted to see me and make sure I was okay. The meeting took all first period and I was late to second period. I walked into chemistry and took my seat in front of Danny. Mr. Harris was walking around the class, explaining that the parent teacher conferences were tonight. He asked if anyone had seen Scott and I looked around. He wasn't at his usual seat.

"Jackson, if you need to leave for any reason, let me know," he whispered to Jackson.

He didn't say anything to me. He didn't even acknowledge that I was there too. I was writing in my notebook and I saw that the lines got significantly darker. I was so pissed.

"Hey Danny. Can I ask you a question?" Stiles asked.

"No," Danny said.

"Well I'm going to anyway. Was Lydia in your homeroom this morning?" he asked. I groaned and rolled my eyes. Of course he was asking about Lydia. She is all he cares about.

"No," Danny said.

"Can I ask you another question?"

"Answers still no."

"Did Jackson tell you what happened last night?"

"No, he wouldn't tell me."

"But he's your best friend," Stiles said more to himself than Danny, "One more question. Do you find me attractive?"

Danny didn't answer and eventually I heard a chair fall over and saw Stiles stand up. That boy is so freaking weird. The bell rang signaling that class was over. I walked out into the hallway and Stiles ran up behind me.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Whoa, someone isn't in a good mood. Where were you first period?"

"The guidance counselor wanted to check up on me."

"Oh, right," he said looking around the hallway.

"Go check up on her," I said sighing.

"Check up on who?" he asked looking at me.

"Lydia."

He nodded, "Are you sure you will be okay?"

"Yeah," I said trying to walk away from him.

He grabbed my arm, "Can we hang out when I am done?"

"Well both of our parents will be at conferences and Scott is missing. So maybe we can finally be alone?" I asked, kind of excited.

"Hopefully we can," he said smiling.

"Plus, I think I might be ready," I said looking down.

"Ready? Like to have sex? Like with me?" he asked flailing his arms.

I nodded, "Call me when you're done."

I turned around and walked to class. I prepared myself for the fact that I was going to be alone in school all day. I contemplated going home, but I would just be alone there with no distractions. At least here I could focus on school work. But honestly, all I could think about was tonight with Stiles. I felt the butterflies in my stomach but I knew that I was ready. Something changed last night and I hope he felt it too.
