Chapter 14
After a seemingly endless trek back to Camelot Arthur ordered his servant to get some rest and took off to find his father to finally rid them all of the traitorous knight. While Merlin gladly burrowed himself under his blankets, Arthur and Sir Leon dragged Tristan into the throne room to seal his fate.
'Arthur what is the meaning of this?', the king questioned upon seeing his son, who looked quite disheleved.
'Father, apparently Sir Tristan thought that kidnapping me would help him regain his standing in court. I am not exactly sure what he planned to do, but as you can see I was able to overpower him and here we are...again.' The prince had no intention of implicating Merlin in all this, because he knew his father was already suspicious of the man. Therefore, he had told Merlin and Sir Leon to leave this to him and to not mention their involvement ever. And he didn't expect anyone, especially his father, to question him on this. And as expected Uther had barely heard his explanation before he ordered his men to seize Tristan and throw him into a cell.
Satisfied the blonde watched as they dragged the still barely conscious man away, finally this odysee was over. Arthur could handle all the bandits, sorcerers, assassination attempts and such, however, this had been just annoying. There was no damsel to save, hell the only one in need of saving had been himself, no citizens to protect or crisis to avert and that was simply unacceptable. Tristan's whole 'campaign' for glory had just been a nuisance with no conceivable outcome, except his own imprisonment. Thankfully, it was over now. It was high time for things to go back to normal.

'Merlin!'
'Ahhh, yes what is it, what happened, ' startled and worried Merlin hurriedly threw himself of his bed only to see his smirking master. 'You do know that you are supposed to wake me, right? Not that I want to disturb your well needed beauty-sleep'
Relieved that there was no crisis the young warlock sat back down on his bed and replied testily 'So sorry Sire, I thought I was allowed to rest today after the tedious rescue mission yesterday. Who did I need to save again? Ah yes you.'
Not looking too impressed at the mention of his kidnapping Arthur simply ignored the comment and continued gleefully. 'No worries, you'll just have to hurry with today's chores to get everything done in time.'
'In time for what exactly?,' Merlin asked.
'Our hunting trip of course.'
'What hunting trip?'
'The one I decided I deserve for putting up with you.'
'I'm not going,' Merlin stated and promptly lay back down.
'Oh yes you are.' Grabbing his servant Arthur dragged him out of the bed and started toward the door, while listing everything Merlin had to do before they could leave.
Resigned Merlin followed him and muttered 'prat.'
