Disclaimer: I do not own anyone or anything from Harry Potter!
'She won't do it Tom.' Harry, the real Harry, had managed to push himself forward from where he had been shoved in the back of Voldermorts minnd. 'I know Hermione better than you could ever wish to and as soon as you enter the dungeons she will change her mind. Hermione doesn't have it in her to do anything truly violent. The only reason it has gotten this far is because she was upset about what happened. As soon as she realizes what she is about to do, she will stop and then she is going to know something is up with you because Hermione knows me better than anyone else and she will know I'd never have suggested something like this. You are about to blow your own cover, well you already have so I am going to say thank you right now.'
'Ah Potter, you really are young and naive aren't you?' Voldermort was smirking mentally as he replied to 'the boy who liveds' comment. 'Her trust in you is what got her in to this situation anyways. Hermione won't want to see the truth and so she will not see it for the sake of friendship. Don't you see? Hermione is already changing in to what I want. She will go through with this and after that, well she will be one step closer. Now shut up Potter, Hermione and I have some revenge to get too. Go back where you belong.'
Before Harry had a chance to reply, he felt himself being pushed to the very back once again. There was nothing he could do to stop it and so he would be forced to watch whatever was about to happen. It wasn't as if he cared about Draco, but he knew if Hermione did something she would live to regret it. She wasn't a killer and she was not the type of person who would hurt another unless given no choice. Tom was using her emotions and the friendship she shared with Harry against her and Harry felt as if it was his fault. If something happened to Hermione then it would be on him. If he ever got control of his body and Hermione had done things she didn't take back, he would never be able to live with himself. Harry vowed to himself that no matter what happened, he would always look after Hermione and take care of her. He would do whatever it took to keep her safe because he was the reason she was in trouble anyways. Harry thought it only right to take care of her once Voldermort was destroyed for good and one way or another he would be, Harry had faith in that because if he gave up hope right now then all would be lost.
"This is the secret entrance to the Slytherin common room? Not very secret is it?" Hermione had pulled off the invisibility cloak as she moved forward to get a better look at the small snake carving hidden there. Well technically speaking it wasn't hidden very well at all since it was in plain sight to those who would take the time to look, but on the other side, it wasn't as if anybody would go looking for a secret entrance they didn't did existed. "I take it you need to be able to speak parseltongue to open this secret entrance? I mean the symbol is a snake and Salazaar did speak parseltongue so I assume it must be used here. I guess now it's your turn Harry since I don't speak the language."
Tom smirked slightly. "Well it seems as if there is something I can do that the great Hermione Granger can't. Maybe I should mark this day on a calendar or something so I can remember it forever."
"Harry James Potter!" Hermione whirled around to face him with one hand on her hip. "Are you poking fun at me?"
"Maybe a little." The 'dark lord' replied. Was he teasing her? Tom had never really interacted with people other than his death eaters and he ordered them around more than he spent any normal social time with them. Hermione was the first person he had ever really relaxed around and it didn't make sense and yet at the same time it did. She was his future dark queen after all so it only made sense he would get on with her well; as long as she remembered her place when the time came for it. "I suppose we should get on with it so if you could kindly move out of the way, I'll open the passage way."
Hermione watched as Tom, who she thought to be the one and only Harry Potter, spoke in the language of the snakes low and behold the secret doorway appeared and opened. As soon as the pair entered, the secret passage way closed up and startled Hermione so much she did not notice that Harry hadn't even flinched. Immediately she cast the lumos charm and noticed he did as well. The area was narrow and cramped, but it was a secret passage and so what else could you expect? The Gryffindor girl tried to concentrate on moving forwards step by step instead of the noises of rodents and insects as they scurried away from the invading light. She may not have the same fear as Ron when it came to spiders, but that did not mean she was fond of all the creepy critters which roamed the halls of Hogwarts.
"Harry, are you sure these spells can't be traced back to us?" Hermione asked as she started to bite her bottom lip as she often did when nervous. "I know you said they won't remember anything we don't want them to, but on the off chance something goes wrong, well I don't want to take the chance the spells could be traced back to us. The last thing I want to do is get you in trouble Harry. Maybe we shouldn't do this. I think I should go to Dumbledore about this. I am starting to think-"
"Then stop thinking!" He snapped as he whirled around to face her only to meet her wide eyes. Immediately he took a step remembering she saw him as Harry and the 'boy who lived' would never have raised his voice to her in such a way. "Mione, I am sorry. I shouldn't have raised my voice like that. I understand your concerns, but we talked about this remember? If you do not take a stand now, Draco and his goons are going to continue torturing you until they kill you and then they will move on to their next victim. I swear to you that nothing will be traced to us. You said you didn't want to get me in trouble, but Hermione, this battle is as much mine as it is yours because when someone hurts you it hurts me too."
The last statement spoken from his stolen mouth had the exact affect he'd been hoping for. Hermione closed her eyes for a moment before opening them and her fear had been replaced by a look of determination. "You're right Harry, I cannot back out now because if I do I will always be the victim and I don't want to be a victim anymore Harry. I am going to make a stand and I doubt I could do it without you."
Tom smirked as he took her hand in his even though he wasn't one for physical contact and yet with his future dark queen it wasn't completely unbearable. "You won't regret it Hermione, I can promise you that."
