I do not own Teen Wolf. Okay, moving on.
Please R&R. I love getting reviews.
Peter's POV
When I was done with Scott, I told him to meet me at Deaton's when he was calm enough. I wanted to make sure Aly and Allison were going to live. I knew Derek and Isaac would be okay. It took me a while to get there, When I entered the office, the cubs all jumped onto their feet on pure instinct at the sight of their Alpha, even Allison. That made me smile. I couldn't see Aly though. Assuming that Deaton was patching her up, I headed for his exam room. Derek blocked my way.
"Get out of the way, Derek," I said.
"No," Derek said, just as his cousin had denied me earlier. It gave me an odd sense of déjà vu. Instead of hitting him, as I had Aly, I repeated the order. He denied me again.
That frustrated me, "I said, out of the way, cub," I growled. I added the command of an Alpha to my voice. Derek fought his instinct to obey but lost. He moved out of my way. Deaton paid me no attention at first. He only acknowledged me when I reached out to touch Aly.
"Touch her again and I will kill you," he threatened.
"I'm not going to hurt her," I told him.
"You nearly killed her!" he protested.
"Will she live?" I asked.
"Surprisingly enough, she will. Although, I don't suggest you beat her again. Its pure luck she survived this time," he said in his usual dry tone.
"Can she hear me?" I asked. He gave me an odd look.
"She's sedated, maybe, maybe not," he responded.
"I'm sorry, Princess. You disobeyed but my Alpha would not have done this to me and I shouldn't have done it to you," I muttered quietly to her as I placed my hand on her sweat soaked forehead. Deaton looked up at me and I heard Isaac, Derek, and Allison discussing what I had said. Then, I heard the door open, Scott had arrived.
Scott walked into the exam room looking shaky. He glanced at Aly and got paler. He paused, no doubt listening for her heartbeat and looked at Deaton.
"Aly will be okay?" he asked, Deaton nodded.
"Scott, if you can take Aly and the others I'd like to talk to Peter alone," Deaton said.
Scott looked at me for permission and I nodded. I was pleased that he had thought to get permission before acting. He carefully picked up my unconscious niece and walk towards the lobby. We stayed silent until we were sure the cubs were gone.
"What do you want, Deaton?" I growled when they were gone.
"To remind you that your father and Talia and Andrew didn't treat you like this. They're children Peter. Imagine what Talia would think of what you did to Derek's face. Imagine Nick and Maria's reaction to you beating their fifteen-year-old within an inch of her life, "he replied evenly.
"Princess is sixteen," I muttered.
"She's fifteen, she'll be sixteen next month," he replied.
"You know her birthday?" I asked.
"I know all your birthdays, but that isn't why we're talking," Deaton told me.
"So, why are we talking?" I asked.
"Peter, you know I was Talia's emissary. I know I can't stop you from treating them however you deem appropriate. Think, your father set a good example on how to deal with young werewolves, I urge you to follow it," he told me.
Several long moments passed before Deaton spoke again, "When I told him to leave Scott looked at you for permission. I didn't think he'd break very easy."
"He didn't," I sighed, "And I highly doubt I broke him, just instilled some caution for a while. I will tell you the same thing I told Derek. I have no intention of leading this pack through fear and violence," I said.
"Then you're doing a lousy job of it," he told me.
"I would prefer respect, possibly even love. Those take time I don't have with the kanima here and the Alpha Pack on its way. Fear is easy to instill, so I'm settling for it for now. I'll work on respect after I'm through getting them to act a pack and keeping them alive," I admitted.
"Still doing a lousy job, you killed two of them and nearly a third," he reminded me.
I sighed and ran one of my hands through my hair. "I can't change that and I certainly can't tell them I was wrong, that would be counter-productive. If you don't want to help, Deaton, I understand. Just don't stand in the way."
He smiled, "Well, there may be hope for you yet, Peter Hale."
Derek's POV
I put my still unconscious cousin in the back seat of my car as Isaac climbed into the passenger seat and Scott and Allison got in Allison's car. I decided to just go back to the train station, since there was nowhere else to go. At least that was what I was thinking when Isaac's phone rang. He put it on speaker. It was Scott.
"Hey, can you guys head to my house?" he asked.
"What are you going to tell your mom about us and Aly?" Isaac asked.
"Why would I need to tell her anything?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes in frustration, "Because you showing up with two beat-up former murder suspects, an unconscious teenaged girl, your girlfriend with an animal bite on her shoulder, and it's pretty obvious Peter took his belt to you again is going to raise some questions!"
"Uh…..right. We could tell her the truth," Scott suggested.
"You want another thrashing, is that it?" I asked.
"Why would he thrash me again?" Scott asked.
I pulled my car over and took the phone from Isaac, "Because revealing our existence to humans without our Alpha's permission is akin to base treachery. And we've already committed treason today! It cost two lives and Aly still hasn't woken up! How many reasons are you trying to give Peter to kill us!?" I shouted at him.
"I didn't know we couldn't tell her without permission!" Scott protested, "Dude, you need to calm down."
"Calm down!?" I shouted, "Boyd and Erica are dead, Aly nearly died, Allison is a werewolf, you got a beating, and I don't even want to know what he's going to do to Isaac and me when he gets around to it! I have no reasons to calm down!"
"How 'bout your blood pressure, Der. Ugh, remind me not to anger him too much for at least a week," said a voice in my back seat. Aly had finally woken up. Isaac nearly jumped out of his seat.
"Aly! You're okay!" he exclaimed.
"You may want to reserve judgment on that," she muttered, "especially if Scott actually wants to tell his mother about us. Thank god for Lycoan's blood."
"That didn't do you much good earlier, Aly, and it won't help t rest of us at all." I reminded her.
Aly leaned forward looked at me and rolled her eyes, "So why aren't we headed to the train station exactly?"
Too much dialogue, not enough action but here it is it took me forever to write I have the worst writer's block will try to make the next chapter better. It would've been up sooner but my family decided that no one was allowed a second alone for the entire week before Christmas. Happy Holidays.
