And nobody come to save you now. But you got something they don't, yeah you got something they don't. You just gotta keep your eyes open. –Eyes Open, Taylor Swift.

Crystal froze then run straight to the window, not listening to Cato's warning. She quickly locked the window and closed the curtain. She catches a glimpse of the scene down the dark alley down from the window when Cato puts his arms around her waist and pulls her harshly away from the window.

"Are you out of your mind?!" he whispered shout at her.

"They shot her." She said, her words trembles. Her fist grabs a hand of his shirt. "The loud bang, it was a gun fired."

"What are you..?" he try to ask when she start sobbing.

"We have to help her!" she said between her sob. "The girl in the alley, she might still be alive!"

"It's too dangerous, we can't do anything." He tries to think rationally.

"We have to try!" she screamed at him.

"Shh!" he warns her. "Stop making so much noise!" she starts sobbing again, so Cato grabs her hand. "Okay, listen to me." He demands.

Crystal looks up at him. "If you want to help that girl you have to stop crying and do as I say." Cato looks at her straight in the eyes. "Understand?"

She nods quietly, wiping her tears. "Good." He stays still, listening to the noise outside. There's no sound hearable, but that doesn't mean that the killer isn't still outside. And judging by the sound earlier, there is more than one killer.

He knew the safest thing to do is to stay inside and wait until the peacekeeper come, but looking at the girl in front of him, he knew that she would try to help that girl in the alley with or without his help. And there is no way in hell he would let her go outside on her own. And he can't leave her here alone while he went outside to get help, the attacker might find a way here and find her all alone, an easy prey. The only option possible now is go outside together, where he could keep an eye on her.

"Stay behind me." He said. She nods again, walking behind him.

He opens the door and peeked outside. Empty hallway. He sneaks out and closed the door after she got outside. She was about to lock the door when he stopped her. "Don't lock it." He whispered. "Someone might need to enter to escape or to hide."

She surprised at his logic and nods. He seems to know what he's doing. They tiptoed to the stairs, Cato lead the way.

Crystal tugs his shirt from behind. "What about Nicole? And Aaron?" she whispered, glancing up.

"They must've stayed in their apartment. They're not stupid enough to risk themselves to do idiotic things like you." He answered, making his way downstairs carefully.

Too scared to make smart comeback, she just followed him, trying not to make sounds.

Cato's posture is almost twice as big as hers, but his every movement is swift and soundless, unlike her. She might be athletic and number one on her training class, but compare to him, she's like a clumsy little squirrel. Every time she made a tile squeak or a floor screech, she tried to hold back her curses.

They reached the door that lead to the alley. Cato glanced back at her, her expression is stern and determined. He opens the door and walks to the alley, hiding in the shadow, with Crystal following behind him.

The alley is really dark. They both squinting their eyes, searching for anything. Searching for that girl. Suddenly Crystal saw a pale hand sticking out from behind one of the dumpster. She ran towards it, forgetting her fear.

Cato follows her. Crystal kneels beside the girl and checks her pulse. She gasped quietly. She looked up and shakes her head. "She's dead." She paused, and then stands up, standing next to him. They both look down at the corpse. It was a horrible thing to witness. Her blood poured all over the place, her skin is pale, her body naked and it looks like someone has been throwing her around like a rag doll, and her hair messy and sticky with blood, there's bruises on her face and her lips swollen.

Cato had witnessed many horrible things in his life, some of it was even personal to him. This one is not though, and it's not as bad as half of those things. But he can sense that Crystal hasn't experienced things like he had and he can understand the horror in her eyes, witnessed something like this. So he stayed silence and takes one of her hand in his and squeezes it lightly. He turns his head towards her and watched her expression carefully.

That is when he saw a glimpse on the shadow behind them about 2 meters away. He frowns and squint his eyes, trying to see in the darkness around them. He then heard a familiar sound of a gun being load. His body tensed and his instinct took over. Just second before the gun fired, his grips on Crystal's hand tighten and he pulls her away from the shot range. The gun was fired and Crystal was pushed against the wall, Cato in front of her, positioning himself between her and the shooter.
