Chapter 13

Okay, so this is set a few months later from the latest chapter. They've all alive in a comfortable cabin they found in the woods, not many incidents, no deaths, and there's a new member who they met in the cabin: Fox, who is Foxleap (I know I'm so creative). Anyway, enjoy!

Leo Garra

"So, what happened after that?" Dove asked. Fox laughed, wrapping an arm around Ivy, who sprouted a frown on her face, but I knew that as soon as we looked away a small smile would appear.

"After I ran from her, she tackled me to the ground, biting at my arm! I let her be distracted by that as I held my breath, reaching for my gun, and I shot her down, and ran for it!" Fox grinned, holding up his left arm. "And that's how I got these scars."

"Alright, Jay's turn," Chloe said. "How'd you get the eyepatch?"

Jay shrugged. "I fought zombies, one bit my eye out, end of story."

"Oh, come on Jay-jay," I teased. "There's more than that." Jay gave me a glare, but started his story.

"So, one day, not long after the apocalypse started, Leo and I were running down the street, at least twenty infected following us. At one point, I collapsed to the ground due to my horrid endurance, and almost immediately, two zombies tackled me to the ground, clawing at my face, my hair, and I couldn't see at all because my thick, luscious hair," Jay paused un-do his ponytail and flip his hair, pulling it back. Most of us had to (and failed to) stifle our laughs. "Was in the way of my vision, but I could feel the pain of my eyeball being ripped from the socket. Quickly, I punched at one, knocking it off, and flipped the other one off, and kept running, until Leo pulled me aside, stuffing me into a small building. There, I cleaned up my wounds, and sewed myself an eyepatch."

"How'd you know how to sew an eyepatch?" Chloe asked. Jay shrugged.

"When I was seven I went as a pirate for Halloween, but the stores were out of eyepatches, so I sewed myself one after, like, thirteen tutorials."

Ivy laughed. "I can imagine a younger you, with less hair and scrawny little twig-arms, in some tacky pirate Halloween costume! You'd look so funny!"

"Okay, you're turn, Ivy." Jay started. "Why'd you cut your hair?"

"I didn't like it long. It's too easy to grab. Is that it?"

"No. Where'd you get the torn ears?"

Ivy stuttered, "Can I talk about the-,"

"No, the ears. We already know the scars on your stomach."

"Fine then. What happened to my stomach?"

"Zombie-Brendan attacked you and you barely survived. That's it." I rolled my eyes. "What about your ears?"

Ivy gulped. "Well, when I was fifteen, I was separated from my sister after a Drifter attacked us, and there was this guy, maybe twenty, twenty-five years old, and he told me to come with him and that he could get me back to my sister. I did, I went with him, because I wanted to get back to my sister. But he took me away, he took me to this old warehouse, and then he shoved me down, licking his lips, and started to rip off my clothes. I attacked him, trying to defend myself, but he grasped a knife and sliced at my face. I didn't get cuts on my face, because my arms were covering it, but he ripped up my ears, and after I gave up he-, he-," Ivy paused, sniffling, and placed her head in her hands, shaking, and refused to finish her sentence. She dodged the arm of Fox as he tried to hug her, and said, "Now Chloe, how'd you get into the coma?"

"I-," Chloe paused, placing her hand over her mouth, and she rasped, "Hand me that bucket," Jay grasped the metal bucket sitting a few feet away from him and tossed it to her, and she gulped, vomiting up into it.

"She's sick?" Dove asked. "I'll find the stomach bug medicine-,"

"She's not sick," Fox laughed. "Well, yes, she is. That's morning sickness!"

"I know what morning sickness is," Chloe wiped her mouth, and looked at me, puffing, "I'm pregnant, obviously." Everyone's eyes turned to me. I put my hands up in the air, in the sign of a surrender. Chloe laughed, and elbowed me, whispering, "Stop blushing."

"Alright, Chloe," Dove giggled. "Congratulations, now, coma."

Chloe giggled. "It was all Leo's fault."

"Isn't everything?"

"Not the point." Chloe smirked. "Well, so after Leo and Jay found me starving in a basement after the females in my family were kidnapped by the assholes who kidnapped us a few months ago, not the point, but so Leo and I fell in love-,"

"Duh!"

"Shushers." Chloe placed her finger on Dove's mouth. "Anyway, we fell in love, and one time when we were exploring, he found a car. He experimented with it, and started it up. Us being reckless teenagers, we drove around, until I kissed his face, and he swerved into a building."

"How do you swerve into a building?" Ivy asked, narrowing her eyes.

"I don't know," Chloe turned towards me, raising her ashy-blonde eyebrows amusingly. "Ask Leo."

"How'd you wake up?" Fox asked.

"With a fight." Chloe shrugged, yawning. "Well, I'm going to sleep."

"It's barely noon!" Dove protested.

Chloe scowled. "Well, I'm just tired. You guys have fun, I'll be sleeping."
