Hello everyone! I know today is Friday and I said I would post on Sundays but due to my Grandmother's illness I was put off of schedule. It will commence this Sunday.

Chapter Thirteen: His Misfortune
Pan's eyes were shut tight as she held onto her brother's shoulders and threw her head back in laughter. "Gohan slow down!" She said through the chuckles. Gohan smiled hearing her laughs fill the air. He came to a halt once a concession stand came to view and gently lowered himself so she could climb off his back.
"You're heavier than I remember Panny." Gohan said with a smirk. Pan stared at him with her mouth agape and shoved him softly.
"Yeah? Maybe you've just gotten weaker." She said throwing her hands behind her head and pressing her tongue against her cheek. "After all, you do just sit in the house all day and tend to Videl hand and foot." She shot back. Gohan chuckled as they stood in line waiting to order. He looked down at Pan and saw that she had her old bandanna wrapped around her neck.
"Pan." He called catching her attention making her hum in response. "When did you start wearing your bandanna again?" Pan's cheeks flushed red as she looked away from Gohan.
"I dunno I just thought that it was something that meant a lot to me as a child so I decided to wear it again." She said. Gohan bit his lip in confusion and nodded.
What are you hiding Pan? He thought as he walked forward in the line.
"Next!" Pan released a breath of relief that she hadn't realized she'd been holding in.
"Hi, can I get seven orders of chili cheese fries and ten large meat lovers pizzas?" The man looked past Gohan's shoulder and at Pan then back at him.
"For the two of you?" Pan laughed through her nose at the shock in the man's eyes.
"Yes..." Gohan responded confused. The man nodded and darted to the kitchen station of the small boxed in area.
"We'll ring the bell when your order is ready!" Pan waltzed over to a table near by and gazed into the sky sighing. Gohan slowly walked towards the table allowing his thoughts to take over.
I can't just ask her why she's really covering her neck, then she'll be upset that I think she's lying.
He came to a stop and just stared at her. The little girl who threw temper tantrums and always wanted to come along for the ride is now all grown up. Gohan sighed and sat next to Pan, yet she did not once let her gaze break from the view of the sky.
"Panny," Gohan started. "I know there's a lot on your mind right now, I'm your brother I know when something isn't right. I just want you to know that even though I might be busy sometimes and you feel that I'm not always around like Goten is that-"
"I don't feel that way." Pan said cutting him off. "I know that you're busy but that never stops you from trying your hardest to spend time with me. I know what you're trying to say. Even though that you're not constantly around you'll always be my brother and always be there for me." Gohan smiled at the young girl.
"You've really matured Pan." Pan's eyes closed and allowed a smile to play across her lips.
"Well of course I have." She said finally looking at him. "You didn't expect me to be that childish little girl all my life did you?" He laughed as it faded into a sigh.
"No, I suppose not." He said smiling softly. "But I do wish you did sometimes." The sound of a bell ringing brought the two out of their conversation.
"Order up!" Gohan rose from his seat and grabbed their food. When he returned the two dove right into their lunch.
Piccolo huffed as he paced the white tiles of the look out. "How is this even possible?" Goku joined him in his pondering and looked down from the edge of the lookout tower.
"I'm not sure, but Seventeen is coming back somehow." The older male sighed. Whenever the world was at peace it never seemed to remain that way for long. He felt no matter how hard he tried and trained his family, friends, and the planet he called home would never ever truly be safe. "What're we going to do?" Dende and rushed up to the two with concern flooding their eyes.
"Goku, Piccolo." Dende said breathlessly. "I-I don't understand. How, why? I haven't been a Guardian for that long, I-I don't know how to protect a planet!" He said aimlessly rambling trying to search for an answer. Piccolo and Goku looked towards each other before they both walked up to Dende. Goku planted his hand on the young Namek's shoulder and smiled.
"No matter what happens Dende you're not alone. You have all of the Z-Fighters here with you to walk down this path with you." He said as Dende looked at him astonished. "I'd say you're doing a great job as the Guardian of Earth, don't you agree Piccolo?"
"Mhm." Piccolo said in agreement. "Kami would be proud." Dende's eyes lit up at the name. A small sound of someone clearing their throat caught their attention.
"I'm so sorry to ruin the tender moment." Mr. Popo said fiddling with his small chubby fingers. "But we have to do something, I can feel Seventeen's presence is coming quickly." Goku's face turned stern as he felt for Seventeen's ki.
"He's not alone." He muttered.
"It appears so."
Gohan wiped his hands on a napkin and stared at Pan. "What?" She said feeling her cheeks redden from being stared at. "Is there something on my face?" He tried to muster up the strength to ask her about the bandanna but he just couldn't find it within him.
"Nothing," He stood up and smiled proudly. "How about some rides?" Pan's eyes lit up.
"Of course!" She loved rides. Anything that would make her feel like she was flying made her happy, it always did.
***Flash Back***
"Papa!" Pan at the tender age of four called out. Goku looked down at his young daughter and smiled before picking her up and letting her sit on his shoulders.
"Yes Panny?"
"I wanna go on that ride!" She said pointing her small finger at a roller coaster that had an abundance of loops and twirls.
"Sure thing Panny!" He exclaimed. ChiChi poked Goku on his side to make him notice her.
"Hmm?" He hummed in question.
"Don't you think she's a bit too small to ride that? It looks dangerous for a child." She cautioned. Goku looked towards the ride again and back down at ChiChi.
"I think she'll be okay, she's a Son after all." He chuckled bouncing her on his shoulders. "Isn't that right Panny?" The small child burst into a fit of giggles and nodded. ChiChi sighed and continued walking towards the roller coaster.
A nine year old Trunks and an eight year old Goten were tagging along behind Gohan and Videl.
"Isn't it nice to be out with your family?" Videl chirped smiling at the sight of Goku holding Pan on his shoulder ahead of them. "I never really get to go out with my Dad or any of my family honestly. Ever since Mom passed away he's always been so swamped with work so he never has time for me." Gohan looked at his girlfriend with soft eyes and a frown, he hated seeing her feel upset even though she had a plastered on smile. He softly grabbed a hold of one of her pony tails making her turn to face him.
"Whenever you're feeling lonely and you want someone to be with you know I'm always here." He reassured. "You're just as much family to me as they are." He said motioning ahead of him. She smiled as he leaned down towards her and kissed her gently.
"Thank you Gohan." Gagging noises were being made behind them causing the two to turn around.
"Gross!" Trunks shouted as Goten covered his mouth as if he were sick. "Girls have cooties Gohan. I thought you of all people would be smart enough to know that." Videl walked towards the lavender haired boy and stood with her hand on her hips.
"He doesn't mind getting cooties from me." She hissed mocking his usage of the word. Trunks glared allowing his pride to take over much like his father.
"Who'd want anything from you? I know I wouldn't." He huffed. "Especially not your disgusting lips, yuck." He jeered placing his index finger under his eye and showing her the veins within it. Videl snarled at the child.
"Disgusting?" She shouted, "Why you little-" Gohan quickly grabbed Videl by the waist and picked her up.
"Hey Trunks why don't you and Goten go up there with my Mom and Dad? It looks like they're about to get in line for that roller coaster you guys love so much?"
"The Beast?" Goten questioned excitedly. "Oh man, Trunks come on!" He shrilled taking his best friend by the arm and dragging him up to his parents. The two ran off to catch up with Goku and ChiChi as Gohan put Videl down beside him.
"Hey," He cooed looked at her furrowed eyebrows. "Calm down." He leaned down kissing her once again. "I'd get cooties from you any day."
Goten tugged on Goku's pants leg to get his attention. "Dad can Trunks and I take Pan on the ride?" Pan reached her arms out towards Goten.
"Sure kiddo." He said picking her up off of his shoulder and down on the ground.
"Gogi." She squeaked grabbing a hold of his hand.
"Gogi?" Trunks questioned chuckling through his nose.
"Hey, it's my little sister I let her call me what she wants." He looked down at Pan who'd been humming the whole time. "As long as she's happy I'm fine." They stood in line waiting to walk up the steps to board the ride. When it was finally their turn a hand was placed in front of them.
"Whoa now, I think the girl is a bit too small to ride on here." The said pointing to the smiling cardboard monster with his arm out. Trunks huffed as he looked at the man.
"Come on man she'll be fine it's not like we're going to let her fall out." He groaned.
"Sorry but-"
"Dude just let us on." Trunks said again making the man give a fake smile to cover his irritation.
"I'm sorry little boy but she's too small." Pan looked at Goten confused with a frown. He nudged Trunks gently.
"Come on, we can get on another ride that she can get on too." Trunks shook his head.
"No, she wants to go on this one so we're going on this one." He said. "Isn't that right Pan?" Pan smiled and threw her hands in the air.
"Yeah!" She agreed shouting. The man rolled his eyes and looked down at the children.
"I'm not going to say it again, she can't-"
"My mom owns this amusement park." Trunks said cutting the man off making his eyes widen. "One call and you're fired." He taunted with a smirk. The man nodded and reluctantly opened the gate and finally allowed them in. Pan ran to the middle seat and attempted to pull the seat protector over her. Goten sat on the left of Pan and pulled down the protector and buckled her in.
"Ready Pan-Chan?" Goten asked smiling.
"Of course I am!" She shouted holding on to the protector.
"Ladies and gentlemen, buckle up and get ready to ride the beast!" Shouts and cheers were heard all around them as the three joined in on the shouting. "Please make sure all belonging are in the boxes beside us to make sure nothing falls out of the ride and be sure to buckle up!" With that the man pressed the button and they shot off.
"Oh my Kami!" Goten shouted as they went through the twist and turns. "I feel like I'm gonna puke!" Trunks placed his arm over Pan just to make sure she was safe and he was able to catch her if she did happen to fall out like that man said.
"You'd better turn your head the other way then!" Trunks shouted over the wind. Pan was cheering with her eyes barely open due to the wind forcing her eyes shut.
"It feels like I'm flying Trunks!" She exclaimed cheering once again. Trunks smirked at the young girl.
"Trust me, flying is even better than this. " He shouted to her. "You just wait and see."
***End of Flash Back***
Gohan grabbed a hold of Pan's hand and ran towards a ride. "This one is my favorite." He said waiting in line to board on. Pan looked up to the sign above them.
"The detonator? What kind of name is that?" She questioned look at the people strapping themselves in. Gohan smiled and looked back at Pan.
"You'll see why they call it that." As if on cue, the ride shot off straight into the air. Pan's eyes widened as she gulped.
"Are you insane? Look at the speed on that thing!" She shouted at her older brother.
"What are you scared?" He taunted. Pan scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Scared? No, I just questioned your sanity." She said crossing her arms. "I'm just curious as to where it stand because if yours is gone, then mine is too." She said smirking. "Because I'm just as excited as you." The ride came back down as the riders unbuckled themselves with their hair a mess. Gohan placed his arm out and bowed his head.
"Ladies first." He cooed making Pan chuckle. The two took their seats and strapped themselves in."
"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to The Detonator!" The man over the intercom announced. "Buckle in and hold on tight because we're about to shoot off in 3-2-"
"ONE!" Everyone shouted as they shot off into the air. Pan screamed as she held on to his protector against her and looked around.
"This is amazing! I can see the whole amusement park from up here!" She shouted to Gohan.
"I know! It's awesome right?" The ride began to descend as the two caught their breath from the amount of adrenaline that was rushing through them. Gohan ran his fingers through his hair attempting to get it back to normal as he glanced at Pan and froze when he saw her neck; He didn't say a word as they got off the ride.
"Wow, that one is definitely a new favorite of mine here. What's next Gohan?" She turned to see him walking behind the ride they'd just gotten off of. "Gohan?" She asked watching him bend down and pick up an orange piece of cloth. Pan's hands shot up to her neck realizing it was bare and within his hands was her bandanna. "Shit." She muttered under her breath as Gohan took her by the hand and stormed back over to the tables at the concession stand. He sat her down and slammed the bandanna onto the table in front of them.
"Pan what the hell is that?" He whisper-shouted pointing to the holes on her neck.
"I can explain."
"What did a fucking vampire bite you while you were sleeping?" He exhaled through his nose trying to calm down. "I thought you were just hiding a hicky from me or something! Tell me that isn't what I think it is." Pan bit her lip trying not to look at her furious older brother.
"It's not."
"Oh bullshit Pan!" He shouted. "You think I don't know what a mark looks like? Videl has one on her neck along with Mom and Bulma!" He slipped his fingers into his hair clenching his fist within it.
"Well you told me to tell you it wasn't!" She shouted back at him.
"Pan it's an expression! I know damn well what it is!" He roared until realization hit him. "Only Saiyans mark Pan." He said a lot quieter than before not wanting to draw attention to them when he said Saiyan. Pan bit her lip harder trying to find the right words to say.
"Gohan-"
"Unless Goten or Dad is into incest or Vegeta likes to prowl on younger woman now I think I know who did it." He hissed. "Cause I know I didn't do it because incest isn't my thing Pan." He said making pan snarl up at the thought.
"That's disgusting."
"That's not the point Pan!" He shouted. "Trunks did it didn't he." Pan remained silent not wanting to speak. "PAN!"
"YES!" She shouted back. "Yes, okay? Trunks and I are mated." Gohan slammed his hand on the table.
"Damn it Pan! You're too young for this!" Anger was all Gohan could feel, the thought of Trunks mating with his sister made him sick. It wasn't like he had anything against him, he just felt that Pan was too young for such a commitment and what brother would want to know that his sister had sex? "I thought he was with Marron? How did this even happen? Why aren't you sick? Did you mark him back?" He asked flooding her with questions. Pan signed as she put her head in her hands.
"We were drunk and had sex. We didn't know what was happening and when we woke up we decided to keep it a secret." She explained. "To answer your question yes I marked him back but it wasn't like I did it on purpose. He and Marron called off the wedding because he said-" She stopped and shook her head to erase his words of affection. "They just called off the wedding. Vegeta knows about the bond and now he's helping me to create a void."
"A void?" Gohan questioned after listening to the whole story.
"Yeah. He said Marron wouldn't give up Trunks that easily nor would Eighteen be willing to let someone ruin her daughter's happiness and that us being together would cause havoc." She said watching Gohan nod his head. "He said a void is like building a mental barrier between you and your mate but if not done properly it could kill you."
"What?" Gohan shouted. "Kill you? Is he insane?" Pan placed her finger in front of her lips and motioned for him to sit down.
"I don't think that's something you should be shouting in a public place Gohan!" She looked around thankful no one noticed. "Vegeta says I have to be strong mentally and physically to create this void but that's all I know, he hasn't told me anything else."
"So he took advantage of you while you were drunk?" Pan shook her head.
"I wouldn't say that he was just as drunks as I was."
"Pan Trunks has been drinking a lot longer than you and can sober up a hell of a lot quicker. Don't make excuses for him!" Gohan huffed and handed Pan her bandanna to cover her neck. "Dende knows if I see him I'm gonna kill him."
"Gohan please." Pan pleaded knowing he was serious. "Please, let me handle this on my own. I haven't spoken to Trunks in days and I've been fine. Vegeta is doing a great job training me and-"
"Hey Pan! Gohan! Over here!" They heard a familiar voice yell. Pan turned around to see Goten waving his hand like a mad man with...
"Trunks?" Gohan rose from his seat as Pan tried to grab his arm and sit him back down. "Gohan no, stop it!" She shouted trying to calm her older brother down. Goten caught his gaze and stared at him in confusion trying to follow it, when he did he saw who it was aimed at.
"Trunks." He said coldly.
"Gohan, what's going on?" Goten asked looking between the two and then back at Pan.
"Just get away from him now Goten." Gohan hissed.
"But wh-"
"NOW!"
"Gohan stop it!" Pan shouted trying to get a hold on Gohan's shirt to hold him back. Gohan stood in front of Trunks as he rose form his seat only to be picked up by his shirt.
"You punk, who do you think you are doing that to me sister?" He shouted. Trunks' eyes widened when he realized what he was talking about.
"Pan you told him?"
"No I-"
"She's not the one talking to you, I am!" Trunks looked back at Gohan and put his hands up in defense.
"Look I know but I can explain."
"Uh." Goten said trying to get everyone's attention. "I'd like an explanation. Gohan what the hell is wrong with you? What do you mean who does he think he is doing that to Pan?" Gohan snicked as he looked at Trunks.
"Why don't you go ahead and tell him Trunks. Tell Goten what you did to his little sister."
"Gohan-"
"TELL HIM!"
"I MARKED HER!" He shouted. Pan felt tears brimming in her eyes looking at the sight before her. Goten stood in shock as he felt his fist clench up.
"You what?" He said walking up towards Trunks who was still being held by Gohan. "Maybe I just didn't hear you right."
"I marked her, dude I-" A fist connected to Trunks' face causing his sentence to be cut short.
"Trunks what the hell?" Gohan threw trunks against the table as the people around them ran off screaming. Pan looked around seeing the destruction that we being caused but she couldn't seem to move or even speak. "That's my little sister!" Goten shouted punching Trunks over and over. Gohan picked him up yet again and revealed his bloody face.
"He didn't tell you he was drunk when he did it Goten." Gohan seethed punched Trunks knocking him out of his grasp.
"STOP IT!" Pan shouted causing all the boys to turn around.
"Pan we can't just let him get away with what he did to you."
"I said stop! This isn't your battle to fight! It's mine. I never wanted either of you to get involved now look at what's happening." Pan looked over the boys and saw a civilian pointing in their direction.
"They're over there." She heard them shout.
"This is chaos and I refuse to be apart of it." She looked down at Trunks and felt a single tear from from her eyes. Pan flew off into the sky before the police arrived didn't look back.
"Pan.."
Hello! I hope you all enjoyed that chapter and I am so sorry for that long flashback, I thought it was so cute! Also, for those who are curious as you may know a supporter of mine named Charismatic Beauty asked for a one shot and I'll be putting it up tonight. I was proof reading it over and over trying to make sure it was good enough for you all and I'm having a friend of mine read it also before I put it up so, when they get back to me I'll be sure to upload it.
Also, Dream Land is an actual amusement park in the Dragon Ball Universe. It made it's first appearance in Dragon Ball. Any who, see you all next time!
