A/N Haha, I got asked how I could have left you with a cliffhanger on Christmas... I'll tell you... easily!

Oh and Happy birthday to Shaebea!

I own nothing

I hit the ground hard, a small cry escaping my lips as I felt my cell phone leave my hand. My eyes snapped open to see a large pale man standing over me with a sadistic grin.

"Hello Drew," he said smugly.

I swallowed before trying to take his legs out from under him, letting out a yelp when he didn't move and I ended up with bruised legs. I grunted and instead kicked him in the family jewels. He jolted back as I suppressed a smile and rushed to my feet before turning and running.

I heard a snarl as a weight hit my back, sending me to the ground, pain flooding through my body. Once I was flat against the ground I felt my arms gripped and my body was flipped around, leaving me to look up into unforgiving blood red eyes.

"Shouldn't have done that," he growled.

I let my eyes widen as he bared his teeth. They weren't teeth... they were sharp canines... fangs. My breathing increased and I tried not to let out a scream when he bent down and his teeth grazed my neck. My eyes snapped open and I put all my power into pushing him away from me.

He went flying back, giving me just enough time to stand and sprint to the front of the house. I ran as fast as I could knowing I would be taken down again. And sure enough I felt my legs grabbed and my face flew towards the ground just as I reached the road, my face smashing on our gravel pathway.

I felt the stones dig into my flesh as I let out a scream. I was flipped over quicker and my back pressed into the sharp stones with more force than the previous times. The man above me was smiling as though he had won the lottery and it made me sick to the stomach. I grunted as I pushed him away again, feeling a horrible pain in my hips, my injuries flaring worse than when I woke up in the hospital.

My face was joining the fray and stinging like someone had poured hot water over my cheek and forehead. The man let out a small noise as he climbed to his feet, giving me another sadistic grin. His eyes snapped to somewhere behind me before he made a false bow and turned before running. My eyes widened when I couldn't even follow his fast movements.

"Not good," I mumbled as I heard a car coming up my drive.

"What the hell?" Karla demanded as she stormed over to me, an angry expression on her face.

I looked up and saw her glaring down at me, her hands on her hips before she started ranting on about how I am always craving attention and can't go five minutes without making a scene. Half way through her rant she stopped and looked down at me, a frown finding its way onto her constantly puckered lips.

"Did you get hit by another car?" She yelled.

I groaned in response as I attempted movement, tears leaking out of my eyes from the immense pain. When she caught sight of my tears she let out a frustrated scream.

"Stop with the acting and the demanding of attention," She cried, "why are you always so me, me, me?" she started ranting again.

I tuned out and tried to assess my injuries. Why was I constantly getting severely injured? I was almost burnt to a crispy a couple of years ago and I had just been hit by a car and now? Now this demented version of a vampire attacked me. It was a vampire though wasn't it? I felt my thoughts go from the pain in my body to the face of my attacker.

Vampire? It must have been right? Maybe a demon? No, no, no if I was half demon wouldn't I have fangs or something? And be really pale?... Well, I am really pale but that's because I'm a nerd, and I never leave the house. I suddenly had the need to check my teeth in the mirror... make sure they weren't sharp and pointy.

"Drew!" Karla's piercing voice broke through my thoughts and I snapped up to meet her eyes.

I tried to sigh and instead started a coughing fit, feeling as though my lungs wear going to tear apart. Damn self inflicted injuries... depressing... ouch.

"You're ridiculous," Karla muttered, throwing her hands up in the air.

I winced when the need to cough rose in my throat, "Karla, could you," I started to cough randomly before I managed to get it under control, "a little help?" I asked.

She glared at me for a few seconds before reaching down and grabbing my outstretched hand. She pulled me roughly to my feet before dropping my hand as if it burnt her. I grimaced when my back popped and my hips started thudding in time with my heart.

I watched Karla storm inside her head held high, "fun times," I grumbled before following after her.

"Weren't you meant to be out with a friend?" I questioned, watching Karla bustle about her room as I held a wet towel to my scraped cheek

She sighed, "I'm leaving soon, I need to change," she exclaimed as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I nodded and rolled my eyes when she turned around. She picked up a cream coloured dress and pursed her lips thoughtfully before jumping when her cell started going off.

She huffed before picking up the phone, "Hello?" she demanded.

She froze before rolling her eyes and practically throwing her phone at me, "catch," she quirked before going back to her closet.

I frowned as I put the phone to my ear, "evening," I said politely.

"Drew!" Emily said loudly, her voice almost blowing my eardrums.

"Hey," I stammered, wincing slightly.

"Oh thank god, what happened? Why did you scream? Did a window smash?" she fired away at me.

"I—uh I got a fright," I grimaced when I remembered the broken window downstairs, "you wouldn't happen to know someone who could repair said window?" I asked sheepishly.

"Drew," she said her voice dangerously calm, "what happened?"

I swallowed and licked my lips, "uh, nothing? Nothing" I reinforced.

"Drew?" she said tiredly, "please tell me," she begged.

I chuckled nervously, "nothing happened. Karla's about to head out, you still keen on coming over?" I asked, changing the subject quickly.

She sighed, "Yeah, I'll be over in ten?" she offered.

I smiled, "yeah," I said softly, "sounds good,"

I heard the dial tone before I chucked Karla's phone on her bed, watching it bounce harmlessly before my attention was brought back to my throbbing body. I pulled the bloodied hand cloth back from my cheek and studied it. I gingerly lifted my fingers to my cheek and touched it lightly.

"How's this?" Karla asked coming out of her closet wearing a short, tight red dress.

I felt my eyes widened before I quickly blinked and sent her a charming smile, "stunning Karla, absolutely stunning!" I praised, watching her twirl.

She blushed and ducked her head, "thanks Drew," she said before going over and grabbing her purse and phone.

I watched her walk out the door before I followed her with a small smile and a shake of my head. Hopefully she doesn't look in the mirror, not that my sister is unattractive! She is quite the looker, it's just... she's gained a teensy bit of weight lately and while she's wearing such a tight dress...

"Hey Drew?" her voice floated up the stairs.

I shook my head and smiled down at her, "yeah?" I asked, going down a few steps.

"I'm sorry, about before," she clarified, "I've had a bit of a hard day," she said apologetically.

I let my smile soften, "its okay, I understand that it might freak you out, starting a new job and all," I said with a dramatic wave.

She nodded and left the hallway, heading towards the front door, "I'll see yah later Drew," she shouted.

I laughed, "How much later?" I asked, quirking an eyebrow.

She sent me a look over her shoulder, "tomorrow morning?" she offered.

I smiled and nodded my head before waving her off, "see yah then," I yelled after her.

The door slammed and I waited for the car to start before heading to the downstairs toilet. I took a deep breath before opening my eyes and looking in the mirror. I winced when I saw the gashes in my cheek and forehead.

"Lovely," I muttered, "why?" I asked the ceiling before wetting the towel again, watching the reddened water swirl around the sink.

I sighed and grimaced when my head pounded. I turned and headed out of the bathroom, towel in hand, before hurrying to the kitchen and searching the cupboards for painkillers. I frowned when I pulled out the packet before grabbing a bottle of water and drinking half of it.

I leant my head against the cool metal of the fridge before I turned on my heel and walked into the lounge, flicking the television on. I pursed my lips when a cheesy horror movie was on, a werewolf stumbling around the screen.

I chuckled and leant back against the couch, watching the television with amused eyes. I used to love watching these movies with mum, she always find them so funny and would always laugh at the wrong times. I used to wonder why but now I guess she was laughing at how absolutely fake they are.

I have a feeling that werewolves don't look like they're weed whacking through the bush. I let out a loud laugh and covered my mouth with my hand embarrassingly. A knock on the door stopped my laughter and I stood up, wiping the tears from my eyes as I walked towards the door.

I opened it and was almost crushed in a hug by Emily, "Hey," I wheezed when her arms wound tighter around my chest.

She pulled back and looked in my eyes before her mouth dropped open, "what happened to your face?" she blurted out.

I shifted as excuses ran though my mind, "I uh, may have fell over?" I offered sheepishly, rubbing the back of my neck.

"And scraped the side of your face against a damn grater?" she demanded angrily.

I sighed and looked at my feet, "pretty much," I said weakly.

"Drew, I'm serious you have to tell me what happened—" she began.

"Emily, drop it," I said quickly, becoming slightly frustrated, "just drop it," I breathed out.

Hurt flashed across her face before she forced a smile, "of course, sorry, so what are we doing tonight?" she asked curiously.

I let a smile tug the corners of my mouth, "only watching the worst werewolf movie of all time," I chuckled, "it's on the television but I have a few stashed in my room we can watch too," I said, grabbing her hand and dragging her into the lounge.

"Maybe you should get that checked out," Emily said, vaguely pointing to the scraping on the left side of my face.

I stood up and turned the television off before smiling at her, "I'll live," I retorted.

She chuckled and closed her eyes tiredly, "hopefully, Paul would hate to lose you," she said with a sly grin.

I stormed up to her and whacked her arm, "enough you," I giggled, "you're just as bad as Seth," I remarked.

She stood and stretched before looking over to me, "so I'm not the only one teasing you aye?" she laughed before looking over at the clock, "crap look at the time! Sam's probably paced a hole in the floor by now," she exclaimed.

"If he was worried he would have texted you," I told her, looking over at the broken window.

"I may have put my phone on silent," she informed me before rushing over to her purse and pulling out the object, "Wow, five missed calls and way too many texts," she said, an amused grin on her face, "sound like Sam, I better tell him I'm heading home now."

I chuckled and shook my head, "hey don't leave me after we've watched all those movies and there is a hole in my house," I said pointing at the smashed glass that gleamed in the moonlight.

She hesitated before nodding and scrolling through her phone, "I'll just call Sam and get him to call off the search party then I'll ask him what the hell we do with the window," she said.

"Still, you're leaving me anyway!" I exclaimed, holding a hand to my head before yelping when the contact stung the cuts on my forehead.

She huffed and threw up her hands, "come stay the night at mine then, we have a spare room..." she trailed off catching my smirk.

"As soon as the window is fixed, I'll take you up on that offer," I informed her before gesturing at her phone, "now call Sam and let's fix this damn window, it's giving me the creeps,"
