Chapter 14
The walk to the Nura mansion was long and boring. One was playing video games while the other was deep in thought. Beads of sweat trickled down their forehead.
"It's so hot." The white haired one with red eyes was about to melt from the heat. He had Agoraphobia so he couldn't really stay outside for very long. Usually, his video games would keep him occupied most of the time but it was so hot that he could barely concentrate.
"We are already here." Kei assured him.
He was right, they did arrive to their destination. A neck less guy greeted them with open doors.
"We have been waiting your arrival." Yesterday, Rikuo had informed all of them about his arrival so everyone knew he was coming.
"This way." He gestured for them to come along and they did.
"Kei-san!" Rikuo waved for him while smiling.
"Rikuo-san? You look very different." He looked easy and fragile. If he didn't know any better he would have underestimated him.
That must be his human form.
"And who might this be?" He looked at the other guy with a fake smile.
"Oh, that is Zen." The guy looked extremely angry like he would snap someone's neck if they talked to him.
I'm assuming he does that to everyone.
He stretched out a hand for him to shake. "It's nice to meet you, Dr. Zen."
His shake was returned with a glare. "How did you know that?" Zen crossed his arms, eyeing him suspiciously.
"It takes one doctor to know a fellow doctor." It was a lie. He wouldn't have known that Zen was a doctor if he didn't read his body movement. He was specialized in reading body and face reaction to have an idea as to what is wrong with them. He can sometimes know what a person is thinking from just that.
"Anyway, we will let you see Kana-chan now." Rikuo quickly steered the subject, sensing the tense atmosphere.
"Does she have anything else wrong with her other than being mute?" He suddenly asked.
"We are assuming that she could have a disorder." Zen replied.
"What kind of disorder?"
"I think personality disorder."
"We are here." Rikuo interrupted them.
"By the way Rikuo-san, I want to tell you my request." He needed to tell him now so he can have it done.
"Right now?"
"Yes, my request is to have a private time with my patient." He declared, eyeing the yokai that were hiding. "Meaning I won't tolerate anyone spying on us."
Rikuo frowned at his request. He wasn't sure if he should let him talk to her alone.
"If you feel uneasy with my request, you can take Silk as a hostage in case anything happened to her." He pushed the guy next to him to Rikuo. He was too busy playing video games to even notice anything.
"That is not what I meant... but I'll accompany inside since she doesn't trust strangers." Kei nodded in approval. That should do.
They both entered the oddly cold room
"Kana-chan." Rikuo could see her sitting in a corner, playing with a doll he brought her.
She looked at Rikuo happily but it soon fell when she noticed a familiar face. "He is the doctor I was talking about."
She shook her head to get the false image out. That guy couldn't be Kei! He couldn't be the guy who was with Beyond! It can't be.
"I'll leave you to him." She quickly clinched to him and shook her head to show her disapproval. Her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. It really was him.
"It's okay. You will be fine with him." He patted her head and unattached her hand from him. She looked like she was about to cry any second.
He let out a sigh inwardly. He wondered if this was the right choice but she acted like that with everyone so guessed she would be fine.
"Take care of her." There was a warning laced in his tone.
"I will." He smiled at the frightened girl.
She crawled her way to a corner, scared of what he will do. She couldn't believe that she was meeting him again after so long.
He was smiling at her creepily.
"We meet again, Kana Ienaga." She bit her bottom lips at the way he said her name. It was very unpleasant.
"Don't you miss me?" His smile never left his face, in fact it gotten wider.
Her glare made his heart flutter in happiness. It was a sight that truly deserved being seen. Her hands were making signs for him to read.
'Why are you here?'
He chuckled humorously. Everything was leaning to his favor so much that it was ridiculous. Was it always this easy?
"Do you want to know the real reason?" She clenched her fist tightly in anger. He had a motivation for coming here.
'To kill Rikuo.' She did her hand gestures for him to read.
"Correct." She gritted her teeth, expecting this.
"Since you helped me in achieving it I guess I'll tell you a secret." That stupid grin was still on his face that she wished she could wipe it off.
"It's... I'll be asking you a series of questions. If it's a no, shake your head. If it's a yes, nod." He abruptly changed the subject with a straight face.
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion but she soon caught on what was wrong. Someone was listening to their conversation. She hoped they heard everything.
Few meters away
"Shhh!" Awashima shushed Amezo who looked at him bewildered.
"You shut up." Amezo rolled his eyes at being shushed by the person who was being noisy. "I thought you weren't on her side anymore."
Awashima glared. "I just don't trust that guy either that is why I'm here."
Itaku let out a sigh in exasperation. He was trying to listen to an important conversation but he kept being distracted by the two idiots behind him.
Reira shared a look with Itaku that had mutual understanding. She then used her powers to freeze them.
"Much better." Itaku gave her a nod of approval and closed his eyes to listen. He had sensitive ears that can hear from afar while the others didn't.
"Did you ever feel like killing somebody?" There was no response.
"I see. How about-" They were interrupted by a deep voice.
"Did you forget that Kei-sama requested privacy?" Itaku tsked at being found so soon.
He glared at the servant that went by the name of Silk. Wasn't he the hostage?
"Are you planning to break your promise?" He was busy planning video games while sitting on the floor comfortably. His hands were shaking violently like he was in the middle of an intense battle.
Itaku narrowed his eyes at him. He couldn't trust them like Rikuo did. Was this how the Nura clan worked? Trust strangers you just met? He had no reason to stay with him any longer now that he had been found out so he walked away quietly with Reira and Dohiko, who carried their frozen friends.
Silk frowned at being ignored so soon so he went back to playing his video games.
"They are gone." He spoke, knowing his master was listening.
Kei immediately dropped his facade when he heard that. His lips stretched up to a grin while looking at Kana.
"I would have never gotten this far if it wasn't for you so thank you." She raised an eyebrow, not understanding what he meant. He laughed knowing why she was confused.
"Aren't you curious about who's controlling you?" Her eyes widen when she noticed that he knew something he shouldn't have. She pointed a trembling finger at him as if she wanted to tell him something.
He nodded his head to her accusations. He clearly understood what she wanted to tell him by being a doctor for more than a century.
"That is right. It was us." The evil glint in his eyes enjoyed destroying her.
"The one who is controlling you was Beyond." Her gasp of disbelief was music to his ears.
It was them all this time? She racked her brain to come up with a reason for how, when, where all this happened. Her brain worked ten times then usual to find the answer until she realized something shocking.
Wait...
She slammed her hands on the floor and looked at him in shock.
His laugh was accompanied with him clapping uncontrollably. It was just so amusing to watch her figure out what was going on.
"Yes, it was a trap." Her fist tightened even more that she could feel her nails dug into her palms.
He decided to voice out her thoughts because thoughts versus talk hold a different scale and emotion.
"Did you really think you would escape from us?" He asked even though he knew she wouldn't reply. "We were the one who let you escape, no, we forced you to escape."
She remembered when she hesitated on her second escape. At that moment her legs moved on their own. He had control of her since the very beginning.
When did it happen?
She bit her thumb, trying to figure out how he could control her body. He had to have a secret.
Kei was kind enough to reveal to her when did it happened."Remember that night when he vomited on you?" That was it! That was his secret. He gained access of her from inside her body.
"I'm surprised that Nura Rikuo hasn't killed you yet for what you have done. It proves how blinded he is by you and because of that he will pay." She could tell they were planning to use her for it.
"He will end up in a situation where he will be forced to kill you or get killed by you." Her blood boiled at being used to kill him. She rather be killed instead.
"If you killed him, his clan members will kill you since they don't care about you but if he killed you, the guilt will consume him for not being able to save you and he will turn into a monster."
Like how she turned into one.
"How does it feel to know that everything is your fault?"
Both endings were terrible no matter how she look at it. To avoid these two endings she will have to kill Kei herself.
In a second she was already in front of him with her right hand punching him in the face. She then pulled him by his collar to look at her in the eyes. Instead of crying out for help, he laughed. It only served to provoke her so she punched him again and again to shut him up but he didn't.
"They will think you are really crazy if you keep doing this." He smirked with blood leaking out from the corner of his mouth.
She let out a shaky breath, feeling angry tears welling her eyes
Do you think I care?
He saw her laugh madly with her tearful eyes which creeped him out a bit. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Why was she laughing?
I will kill you.
His eyes widen when she choked him. She will kill him before he will do any of that.
"You wouldn't dare." He choked out.
I killed Kejoro with these two hands. Do you think I wouldn't kill you either?
Since she already committed a sin, committing another one wouldn't hurt.
"Help! Someone!" He choked out but she didn't stop. She will kill him like how he killed her. He ruined her entire life so it was her turn to return the favor.
The sound of several footsteps were heard but it was muted by her insanity.
"Take her away!"
She was dragged away from him by two yokai pulling her by the arms. Watching him cough wasn't enough! She needed to see him bleed. To kill him!
LET ME GO!
She struggled furiously to free herself and with all her power, instead of being pulled she was the one who pulled them with her.
"You have got to be kidding me." One of them screamed being pulled by her harshly. One of them only let her go for a second, opening her an opportunity she didn't miss. She threw herself at his leg, holding into it like her life depended on it.
"Take her away!" Zen shouted at the two people who tried to pull her away.
Blood oozed out when she dug her sharp teeth on his leg.
"Let go of me!" Kei screamed in pain. He didn't expect her to do this.
They finally managed to drag her away from him. She was like a wild animal right now that needed to be tamed.
Zen threw a syringe to the two guys that were barely holding her down.
"Inject it!" He ordered them and one of them quickly did. Her struggling soon stopped.
They all breathed out a sigh in relief when they saw her unconscious.
"We should attend this wound before it gets infected." Zen pointed out Kei's bleeding leg.
Kei nodded in agreement and looked at the unconscious girl. She almost succeeded in killing him but too bad, she played into his hands once again. He needed people to witness what she did to him so they can believe him when he feed them his lies.
Everything was going according to his plan.

Yes, religious reasons.
It is a month of refreshment, loving ,forgiving and purification and it is also good for health. Plus, fasting reminds us of the poor people who have nothing to eat.
Besides, It is not like I'm fasting 24/7. We fast when the sunrise and when the sunset we are allowed to eat.
I hope my brief description answered your questions.
