So...ummm...it's been awhile and (bursts into tears) I'M SUPER SORRY! (wipes tears and clears throat.) Okay so since that awkward moment is cleared up, lets get down to business. I know I have been away for an insanely long time but trust me, I had my reasons. I wasn't just ignoring my stories, they will continue. The reason why I've been gone is my grandpa had this massive heart attack as well as fluid in his lunges. The doctors couldn't work on his heart because his lunges weren't working properly and they couldn't fix his lunges because his heart was to weak. It was a bad situation. I was still updating but then he got better and all was happy!...until he passed away unexpectedly one night, and I've been grieving him since; we where really close. But I feel better enough to update and even start a new fanfiction so go check it out, it's called Control is Everything! I'm super sorry for the wait and I hope you can forgive me!

Chapter 14

Senia's P.O.V

White light, that was all that was visible as Senia opened her crusted shut eyes.

"I am in Haven?"

"No, you're in Hell." A deep voice rumble from beside her. Senia whipped her head in that direction and rubbed her eyes. Once her pupils dilated, her steel blue eyes came to rest on Jace. His slightly curly golden hair tumbled down his forehead as a arrogant smile plastered its self on his pink lips.

Senia looked around, "I'm pretty sure that this is still Earth."

Jace stood up, "what's the difference?" Senia chuckled as Jace filled a glass full of water and brought it to her. Senia smiled and said her thanks as she took the cool glass into her hands.

"So," she took a big gulp of water. "Where are we?"

Jace sat back down, "London institute." He shrugged.

Joy filled Senia as a smile stretched across her face. "Mom!" She exclaimed.

Jace shook his head, "no one else is here."

Worried free, Senia leaned back against her pillows and sets the glass onto the oak night stand beside her. "She is probably out on a job for the Clave."

"For two days?"

"That's how long I've been out?" Senia said startled.

Jace's head bobbed as he nodded, "Yup, sounds about right."

Senia shook her head in disbelief but then a question popped into her mind. "Hey, how in Hell did we went up here anyway?"

"Well," Jace leaned back into his chair and lunched into his story.

~Flash Back~

Columns of black smoke stroked the sky as the institute became the meal for hungry flames that licked up its slides. Worry ate at Jace, Senia and Izzy haven't come out of the burning institute. He looked over at Kierstyn, who was laying safely on the pavement and then back at the institute. Her words munched on the inside of his brain.

"Forgiveness is earned, not freely given."

Although his outside appearance may look calm and collected, he was freaking out. Pacing back and forth along the sidewalk, about a block away from the inferno, Jace was about to head into the flames when a black figure stumbled through the smoke.

"Izzy!" Clary yelled as the little red head pulled a black Isabelle into a tight hug. Everyone surrounded Izzy, checking to make sure she was okay.

"I'm fine, back off!" Isabelle pushed everyone's searching hands away from her body.

"But Senia isn't, she is still in the institute. we need to go back in there and get her or-" Isabelle cut off her sentence as her almost black eyes landed on the sleeping form of Kierstyn.

Jace gripped Isabelle by the shoulders, "what happened?"

Izzy gulped, "debris fell and separated us, she told me to go, demanded I go."

"Where is she?"

"B-by the library." Jace nodded his head at Isabelle and turned around, picking up some scraps of gear.

"Where do you think your going?" Alec asked as he stepped away from his sister.

"To rainbow land."

Alec put his hand on Jace's arm, making Jace look up into Alec's baby bleu eyes. "You can't go in there! We will lose two instead of possibly one!" Jace stared at Alec in disbelief.

"You would do it for me, Izzy or Clary. I bet Simon would go but he's a blood sucker; can't set one foot in the Institute and because you seem unwilling, I'm going."

Jace brushed pasted Alec, picked up a heavy piece of debris on his way by and mumbled "forgiveness has to be earn, not freely given" then ran down the block towards the institute before anyone could try and stop him; key word "try".

He got into the institute without a lot of trouble, just a few automatons here and there. He also found Senia without a hitch - except for the pile of debris that blocked his path.

"Damn it," he cursed under his breath. He would either have to go around, try and get through or go over...all of which would be extremely difficult. The institute shuttered and rained ceiling tiles, almost crushing the sleeping form of Senia. Jace waited until the institute quieted down before making his decision; he was going up. It was risky, jumping up and over the debris. First off he would be jumping straight into the black smoke that he is currently fighting off and second, what is more of the ceiling decided it was going to fall right as he was jumping; but it was the only way.

Gathering his strength beneath him, he took a deep, intoxicated breath and jumped.

~Flash back gets interrupted.~

"You have to finish the story!" Senia exclaimed, "I need to know if you made it or not!"

Jace gave her the what-do-you-think look. "If I didn't make it, would we be having this conversation?"

"Then why-"

"Shh," Jace said, looking around the room with a hard gleam in his eye.

Senia stayed quiet and strained to hear what Jace heard; all she heard what the controlled breaths of Jace.

Not being able to stand it any longer, Senia blurted, "what in the World are you listening to?"

Jace shrugged, "Must have been the wind or something." He then continued his story.

~Re-start of flash back~

He landed with a thump beside Senia, bending his knees on the impact, he was able to stay on his feet. That is until the institute decided shake. Once it stopped, he stood back up and picked up Senia in his arms, carrying her bridal style. A loud crack sounded through the corridor making Jace look up at the wall to his right.

"Oh for Heavens sake!" He yelled as the wall started to collapse in on itself. His eyes blurry from the smoke, he was able to locate the library doors.

He sprinted to them like a crazy woman, dodging debris that lay charred on the floor and falling from the sky. Reaching the library doors, Jace shifted Senia in his arms so he is able to grab the searing-hot handle. Holding back a cry of pain, he wrenched open the doors and ran inside, just before the wall behind him completely collapsed.

Taking a second to try and drag some air into his depriving lungs, his looked around the library only to have the sound of wall collapsing to drive him to hurry.

He ran towards the portal, thinking it's the only way out. He pulled open the doors to reveal a water-like substance. He started concentrating, picturing where he wanted to go and for a second, he saw his destination, only to have it disappear when his concentration shattered. The large bookshelves, holding thousand of book in many different languages, began to collapse. There was no time so he took a chance and leaped, but at that very second, he heard Senia mumbled about home.

~End of flash back~

"So that's how we got here, I was talking about home?"

Jace shrugged, " I wasn't thinking about a destination, only about getting out. So when you thought about home, the portal must have picked up on that and dropped us at the London institute's front doors."

"Awesome, but first," Senia clears her throat and yells as loud as she can, "HOW DARE YOU JUMP THROUGH A PORTAL WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" She then clears her throat and continued. "Second: are you sure no one is around and third: have you made contact with the others?"

Jace, wide-eyed and defensive said, "the institute was collapsing around us! of course I had no time to think. Second: Yeah, I'm 100% sure there is no one here and third: Nope, I've been with you the whole time."

"If you where with me the whole time, how did you make sure there was nobody else here?" Senia raised an eyebrow, challenging Jace.

"Well we landed outside, I ringed but nobody answered and since you've been out, nobody has come in. That is how I concluded nobody else was here." Jace sat back in his chair, with his arms crossed and a smirk across is face.

Senia sighed, and stood up from the bed, "let's go have a look around, just in case."

~Fifteen minutes later~

"See! nobody's here!" Jace said defiantly.

"Ummhmm, I see." Senia whispered as she walked towards her mom's room; the only room they haven't checked yet. Pushing open the door, Senia regarded the half packed suitcase that sat on the green quilted bed.

Senia walked over and touched the suitcase, worried. She looked up at Jace who followed her into the room. "Something happened and we aren't leaving until I figure it out." She crossed her arms, daring Jace to challenge her. Instead all he did was say "Agreed."
