Sorry this is kind of short, but I'm trying!

Chloe woke up to an empty bed and immediately started panicking, though she didn't know why. Aubrey and Madison were downstairs, she knew that. She quickly got out of bed and hurried downstairs, becoming confused when she saw no one in the living room either. The redhead walked into the kitchen and chuckled when she saw Madison sitting with her head leaning on the counter top of the island and Beca and Aubrey half asleep at the kitchen table, cups of coffee in front of them. The room was silent expect for the sound of the rain outside. Chloe looked at the clock on the oven and realized why they looked half asleep still; it was only 6:30am.

"Hey Chloe," Aubrey yawned.

Beca looked up and turned around to see Chloe standing behind her, "Morning."

"Morning… Is she sleeping?" the redhead whispered, motioning to the little girl.

Aubrey laughed, "I think so. Coffee?"

"Please," Chloe sighed as Aubrey got up to pour her cup. "How's your arm?"

"Alright… I'm just really bored; I want to go back to work."

Chloe chuckled, "Of course that's what you'd care about."

"She's Beca," Aubrey smiled, handing Chloe a mug of coffee. "Want to continue this in the living room?"

Chloe nodded and helped Beca up, supporting her as she limped into the other room. They all sat down with sighs. "How are you guys with money right now?"

"Okay…" Chloe started, "We can't pay for Maddie's dance classes anymore, but everything else is okay I guess."

"Does she know you guys can't pay anymore?" Aubrey asked, surprised.

"No, we didn't tell her yet…" Beca sighed, "I don't have the heart to do it."

The room was quiet for a while then Aubrey spoke up, "Let me pay for them."

"No Aubrey, we can't let you do that," Chloe insisted.

"Chlo, she's my god-daughter and you're my best friend. Let me please."

Chloe glanced at Beca. "We'll think about it," Beca answered.

There was another silence in the room. The silence wasn't awkward like it would usually be, it was comforting. Having the calm company was something they all desperately needed and it was nice. The women sat drinking their coffee, adjusting to the early hour.

"Mommy…" came a groan from the kitchen.

All the women looked over to the sound and Chloe stood up, walking into the kitchen. She sat down on the stool next to Madison and wrapped her arm around the girl who was still leaning on the island.

"What's up baby?" she whispered.

"What time is it?" she asked; her voice rough.

"Almost seven… You have school tomorrow; did you finish your homework?"

"Yeah, on Friday."

"Good, what do you want to do today?"

Madison picked her head up; she didn't really know how to respond. Her mother's voice was just so calm it threw her off. "Can we just stay home and be together?"

Chloe smiled, "Sure thing."

"Can Aubrey stay?"

"I don't know; you're going to have to ask her."

"Okay… and mom?"

"Yeah sweetie?"

"I love you," Madison said quietly, hugging the redhead next to her.

Chloe smiled, hugging her daughter back. "I love you too, honey. C'mon, let's go in the living room."

Madison nodded and got up, walking into the other room hand in hand with Chloe. They sat on the couch; Madison snuggled into Chloe's side.

"Hey sleepy head," Beca smiled. "What time did you two go to bed last night?"

"It wasn't late," Madison lied.

"Those bags tell me otherwise," the brunette chuckled.

"Well…" Madison glanced at Aubrey, causing the blonde to laugh.

"It was before midnight, that's the truth," Aubrey nodded.

"Aunt Bree, can you stay at our house today?"

"Uhm… I have to go to work at four, but if your parents are okay then yeah."

"Of course you can stay Aubrey," Beca said, picking up a blanket from the floor and draping it over her body.

"Alright, I'll tell Luke. He'll start to wonder why I'm never home," she laughed.

Aubrey sent Luke a text and the room became quiet again. Madison pulled a blanket over her and Chloe, Aubrey then doing the same, the silence drowning them. It was soothing though—the sound of the rain against the windows. It was getting brighter outside, yet all the girls lay still as if it was getting darker. Their heavy eyelids were becoming heavier and the sound of the rain was becoming a constant wave of perfection.

Madison laid still in Chloe's side, smiling slightly. The sound of cars driving on wet pavement was her favorite sound. She loved when it rained. She felt so calm and comfortable in that spot that she started to forget all that had gone wrong in the past few months. The car accident, the fact that her family was running out of money, and all the hospital trips flew out of her mind and the positive things started flowing in. Aubrey was having a baby, she was doing a lot better in school, she hadn't gotten in a fight since Jake, and that at least one of her parents had fully recovered. She eventually got lost in thought, and lost in the rain, because her eyelids slowly closed and she fell back to sleep.

Beca watched Madison's eyes fully close. It had been about ten minutes after Beca started staring at her for the redhead to fall back to sleep. She knew it would happen, it was inevitable. She went to bed at midnight and woke up at 6am, no way she was going to last. The brunette curled herself into a ball on the loveseat, pulling the blanket up to her neck. She was exhausted, but she didn't want to fall asleep. She look up at Aubrey on the recliner across the room and saw she had fallen back to sleep as well. She then glanced at Chloe, noticing she was awake still. Beca started watching her begin to drift off when the redhead looked in her direction.

"Sleep," she whispered. "We could all use it."

Beca nodded and closed her eyes willingly, quickly falling asleep.
