By the time the moon had set, the sun's rays were just beginning to peak over the horizon, and instead of the creature Severus had been guarding that night, Remus Lupin was lying, naked, on the floor, gasping from the pain his transformation had caused him.

Ignoring his fatigue, he unlocked the door and picked up the clothes that he had left there, though they had been kicked to the side slightly when the others had arrived. Looking down the corridor quickly, he found Lily and the others, including Ghost, lying asleep next to the entrance. Glad that they had at least gotten some sleep, he returned to Remus, holding out the trousers to the now crouching boy.

"Thank you." Remus smiled, pulling them on quickly, as Severus turned his back to him. Once he'd finished changing, he walked up and stood beside his friend. "I didn't… I didn't hurt you did I?"

The black haired boy shook his head. "Just a graze, but nothing serious." When he saw the boy's eyes widening he smiled. "Don't worry, you can only transfer Lycropanthy through bites. And besides…" he drew back his sleeve to reveal four long but already healing thin red cuts, "it's not that deep."

Lupin sighed with relief. "That's good then."

Severus yawned. "I don't think I've ever… stayed up this late before." Walking out the door, he shrugged it off and headed towards their four friends.

"Time to wake up." He whispered as he lightly shook Lily's shoulder. She squirmed slightly, tightening her eyes before she opened them slowly. "Good morning."

"Good morning." She replied looking around her, confused for a moment as to where she was before the memories of the previous night came flooding back. She sat up. "What happened? Why did you and Remus come here? Why did you shut us out of that room?"

"I'll explain everything… later, but for now we have to get back to Hogwarts." He explained, unable to hold back another yawn.

Once everyone had awoken, they all clambered back through the tunnel and back towards the school grounds. No one spoke, as no one knew what to say, and so they kept an uneasy silence as the castle walls loomed over them.

Before they knew it, they were back in their dorms lying on their beds, their minds drifting away as they dreamed of the night's events.

The next day, Remus explained to them what he was; how when he was younger, his father had insulted Fenrir Greyback, and had taken his revenge on his father by biting him, and ever since that day, on each full moon, he would become the monster that man had made him. From the look in his eyes, they could tell that he thought they were going to reject him, and it hurt them.

"How could we reject a friend just because of what someone forced you to become?" James said, making the boy smile.

The rest of the day passed fairly quickly. Whenever they didn't have a lesson they were all trying to catch up on the sleep they had missed out on the previous night, Severus and Remus especially so. When night came, they were all relieved and went to bed early.

It was Sunday morning. A rather insignificant day of the week in Severus' mind. It was the one day where it both signified the end of the week and the beginning of a new one. There was one thing he was finding somewhat odd though; no one was in their bed.

When he got down to the common room he was met with a sight that he was completely unprepared for.

On the table was a small cake with a candle in the middle, surrounded by an assortment of presents in several different coloured wrapping papers.

"Happy Birthday Sev!" Lily cried as she saw him come down from the stairs, running up to him and kissing him on the cheek. He flushed a bright red and began to stumble for words.

"I… uh… I… Thank you… uh…" he smiled at her, deciding his tongue wasn't going to co-operate and walked towards the table.

"Don't forget to make a wish!"

He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking of the one thing he wanted more than anything; I wish I'll be friends with Lily forever. With that, he blew out the candle, which was followed by a small applause, and picked up the first present.

Remus had gotten him some new and slightly advanced potions and spell books, Sirius had gotten him some of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, Peter had gotten him some more chocolate and James had gotten him an Omniocular.

"Um…" Lily went over to one of the sofas and pulled out a large but fairly thin box tied with a ribbon from under it. "I got mum and dad to send this to me. I was going to give it to you for Christmas but it wasn't finished and…" She handed it to him. "Just open it."

Sitting down on one of the nearby chairs, Severus put it on his lap and slid the silky fabric carefully over the edges of the cardboard, putting it to the side. Lifting the lid off, he found himself looking at a photograph of both himself and Lily looking at the camera with huge grins on their faces, Lily with green face paint on with a pointy hat, a black dress, holding a broom and himself wearing a blue robe with a long stick that was supposed to be a wand.

It was an ordinary muggle picture, but the memories behind it made him smile.

"It's a book." Lily explained. "I looked for all the photos we had of us since we met and I put them in there."

He flicked through the pages slowly. There they were on the swings just a few days after they'd met in the park, and there's where he'd been invited over for one of their Christmas parties, and that one was when it was the summer holiday and his mother had let him go to the beach with them. It wasn't very far to the end of the pages, and most of the book had been left empty.

"I thought you might want to put in some more. You know… future memories and stuff."

He looked up at her, noticing how she'd gone slightly pink.

"I know what one to put in next." He said, fumbling around in his pocket for a moment before pulling out a folded piece of paper. As he opened it, he pulled out his wand, knowing it would need repairing.

The photo, for that was what it was, had a clean fold right through the centre, but one of the corners had been folded over. He pointed the wand at it.

"Repario!"

The seams, unseen tears and creases damaging the image disappeared, and he flipped it over, once again getting ready for a spell.

"Epoximise!"

The surface of the paper became immediately sticky and he flipped it over, placing it into the middle of one of the pages, pushing all the bubbles out with his hand. Once he'd finished, he held it up for everyone to see.

Sirius laughed as soon as he saw it while the others grinned.

There, smiling and waving back at them, with the Gryffindor colours painted on their faces and waving in their hands, was their group; their small, unnamed group with excitement and victory written on their faces.

AN - I know this one's a bit short, but I had a bit of trouble wording this one. I'd like to point out that Severus Snape's birthday is on the 9th of January and I had to look it up to find out what day it was in 1972; good old wiki! Yes I know it's a bit too 'perfect', but I wanted to make this story as accurate as possible!

Repario is just a spell to repair something and Epoximise is the spell to make an object stick to another, but I tampered with it slightly to make it seem like it was glue, or something along those lines.

And the scores (in numerical order)!

For Snape's animagus; Owl – 1,Hawk – 1, Raven – 2, Lion – 2, Snake – 2, Cat – 3, Panther – 3, Wolf – 5, and Fox – 13

For Lily's animagus; Wolf – 1, Fox (vixen) – 9

James is Harry's father – 6

Severus is Harry's father – 15

If there are any mistakes I may have missed, please point them out, and once again, thank you for your support!

Just so as you know, the 'voting' doesn't stop until I have written the chapter including what Lily and Sev's animagi forms are, and who's child Lily begins to carry in October 1979. If I do decide to end it before, I will tell you in one of my AN's.

I hope to have something ready by tomorrow, so I'll see you then!
