Chapter 13- Punching and Punishment
Flashback-
Seth was walking out of his last class before lunch and turned the corner. He was then grabbed and tried to scream but a hand covered it.
Two boys one was about 5' 6" with black hair and emerald eyes while the other one donned brown hair blue eyes and an inch shorter than his friend.
Seth looked up at these two boys up with fear in his eyes and hope he can get out of this alive.
Now on with the story…
The brown hair boy cast a Silenco spell on Seth and the hand was taken from his mouth. Before Seth could even move, he was grabbed and punched by the taller boy right in the mouth. As time went on, Seth's resistance got weaker and weaker letting the boys use him as a punching bag.
Ashley was on her way to lunch when she heard strange noises coming from around the corner. She walked quickly and quietly to catch on whatever is going on. She turned the corner and saw none other than James Potter and he's older friend Walter Jones punching the life out of a little boy she couldn't quite see. Making her presence known by grabbing the robes of the two boys back with brute strength. Getting a good look at the victim is none other than Seth Voss.
She let go of them and giving them a look that could kill them ten times over almost yelling, " Why are you hooligans beating an innocent first year who barely knows any spells to defend himself and that is smaller than you?"
Walter gulped fearing for his life answered, "He stole our spot at the table and was determined not to move. We said to him you'll pay and we sat somewhere else unwillingly." James nodding in agreement and added " He has done this a few times before and tried to ask him nicely but that didn't work."
Ashley thinking over what these two were saying and answered in a calm manner, " I understand the anger toward him but still is unnecessary to punch him like he's your punching bag. As much I don't want to do this at this time. By causing physical harm to a student who potentially could miss more than one day of classes has to be dealt with the Headmistress." Summoning her tiger patrous toward the headmistress and continued on, "As we wait for the Headmistress to deal with you two. I would like to let you two know that if you ever have issues with another student and they aren't listening to you, you can come to me. I won't get mad, I don't want something like to never to happen again. Understand?"
The two boys looked up and nodded in agreement. She then walked up to Seth and kneeled down looking at the scrape above his right upper lip and the many other bruises. She whispered to him, " Are you okay to get up with help?" Seth nodded and Ashley gently put her right arm below his shoulder blades pulled him up a little and put her other arm under his knees. While that was occurring she saw multiple people came around the corner besides the headmistress. She looked up and saw the Headmistress, Luke (all the boys Head of House), and Hermione with look of concern.
Before the Headmistress spoke, Ashley said, " I haven't given them any sort of punishment but I did give a piece of advice so that an incident like this won't happen again. So with the punishment is up to you. They told me their side of the story and I hope whenever Mr. Voss is up for it, he can tell us his so we can get a clearer picture of this story."
McGonagall nodded and asked just one question, " How did you separate these two boys who are practically your height without spells or hurting them?"
Ashley spoke smirking, " I just grabbed the back of their robes with brute strength and then gave them a death glare and told me everything."
McGonagall smiling at her and turned to the two boys with a look that would scare Gryffindor himself and said "Follow me." The two boys along with the Gryffindor Head of House followed the Headmistress. Leaving Hermione, Ashley, and Seth barely conscious in the blonde's arms alone in the hallway.
Ashley spoke interrupting the quietness; " We should get him to Poppy a.s.a.p." Hermione nodded and both the women walked as fast as possible toward the Hospital Wing.
Once seeing the doors, Hermione rushed ahead and opened the doors to let Ashley in easier. Poppy saw the poor boy in Ashley's arms and pointed to the bed nearest to the door. Once Ashley putting Seth down as gently as possible and backed up to give the boy breathing room. Poppy did the basic diagnostic spells and shook her head in unbelief. She stopped and asked, " What happened to this boy to get him beaten up so badly?"
Ashley replied, " I was walking going to eat lunch and heard strange noises so I quickly and quietly got closer to the noise. I then saw none other than James Potter and his fourth year friend Walter Jones punching him like he was their personal punching bag. Before they could do anymore damage I grabbed their robes and pulled them back and now there in McGonagall's office as we speak."
Hermione shocked that her own nephew would punch such a small boy, she knew he was a prankster but not an all out bully. Ashley saw the fear and worry in Hermione's eyes and held her against her chest being the rock her girlfriend needs.
Poppy soaking it all in and said while doing diagnostic spells, " He's fine nothing is broken thankfully. Just bruised, he'll have to spend tomorrow and at least the weekend in the wing. Once he wakes I'll give him some blood-replenishing potion because he lost some blood and some wiggenweld potion to build up his strength. Right now, I am letting him rest, his body might be weak now, but he's strong and has true courage that Gryffindor himself would be proud of."
Ashley nodded smiling, " He is, he reminds me of myself when I was that age. Which is weird now that I am thinking about it."
Poppy who thought otherwise, " I think this boy is someone that reminds you of someone dear to you from your past if you just think and I have a feeling your girlfriend with that brain of hers has her strong suspicions. But I would wait a while before asking her and let things calm down."
Ashley looked down at her girlfriend with a loving and comforting smile and asked, " Can you ask if we can have some food brought up here? I don't think Hermione has the energy to move from this room." Hermione looked up at her understanding girlfriend and pecked her on the lips. Ashley summoned two chairs to sit in watching the boy sleep while Poppy got them two ham and swiss sandwiches with creamy tomato soup.
The two women ate their food in peace and Poppy looked at this interaction thinking 'These two are so meant for each other and whatever lies ahead they'll take on together.'
In the Headmistress Office at the same time
After hearing both parts of their stories, McGonagall stood at her desk thinking of the proper punishment and couldn't think of any. So she asked Luke, " You're all the boys Head of House so what do you think their punishment should be?"
Luke thought for a minute and then spoke, " First dock 30 points each from Gryffindor, three days in detention with Professor Williamson since she was there, sending letters home to all the boys parents and/or guardians to explain the situation and also these two should at one point or another apologize to Seth with a Professor as a witness. I think that should be punishment enough; if this happens again, let's say there won't be a next time. Your detention starts Monday so you may have the weekend to enjoy yourselves. "
McGonagall nodded and said, " You heard all that's been said and I'll personally write the letters immediately and set a time for all the parents and children to be present. You two are dismissed."
The two boys with their heads down sluggishly walked out of the office and not looking forward to that dreaded parent teacher conference.
Hmm.. You get to meet Seth's father hopefully in the next chapter or the one after that. I would be dreading a parent-teacher conference if my mother was a red head with a temper and a knack for hexes. Tune in next time. I know a lot of things happening in one day, I'll try not to do that too often and space things out a bit better. Have any ideas let me know.
