A/N: We get another one here on Toma's Side via Index as we find out what the surprise is. Enjoy.

13: December 26th 9:45 A.M. Toma Kamijo's Apartment

"Index, hurry up they're going to be here any minute.

"I'm coming just keep you hand in check."

I swear sometimes Toma wouldn't know modesty if it bit him on the butt. It takes real patience for a nun to get ready, although I could have done without the clothes yesterday. Toma did get me that nice locket, as I put it on noticing how it twinkled on the mirror, Sphinx hopped up next to me.

"Hey Buddy."

Lucky for me, I'm great at multitasking, petting the cat while fixing the rest of the outfit. But no headdress for today.

"Perfect…"

Just as I settle I hear the doorbell. His parents have officially arrived.

"Hey!"

Toma must be really apathetic when it comes to seeing his parents. I'd bet that before I moved in whenever he'd have them over he would act all crazy.

"Index they're here…" Toma's yell reminded me to speed up this process and once that occurred I came out and joined them.

"Hey!"

"Index!" Toma's mom Shiina came to greet me first, the last time we all saw each other was during Daihaisei and her smell was still just as sweet reminded me of a pure white tulip.

"Nice to see you Shiina…You remember the cat."

As she grabbed Sphinx, Toma and I traded off. Now I'm full on in the face of Touya Tomas dad, it seemed obvious where he got some of his finer traits.

"Index, you keeping him in line."

"Oh yes sir, nowhere near women like Misaka or anyone else other than his friends."

Toma led us to the couch and we all sat down.

"Well, how was your Christmas?" Toma broke the ice which lead Touya to respond.

"Oh we enjoyed it. And as promised we have your gifts."

As Toya handed a box over to his son, I got mine from Shiina, both were identical with blue wrapping paper and silver bows. We looked at each other confused while the cat nuzzled up to Shiina. Touya then looked at both of us and humbly smiled.

"Now you both got the same thing, and when you open them I'll explain."

Pretty much giving us the go ahead we both opened up our boxes. As the paper went flying I shook the box until I could hear paper falling out.

"You got me paper….I thought you'd get better stuff than just paper."

Toma grabbed the paper and looked it over There was an identical one in his box as well He held them aloft confused. "Airline tickets, from Academy City to Oahu, and then to LA. On New Year's Eve?"

"Yes, my company took a sponsorship in the Tournament of Roses parade in the states that they have on New Year's Day and I got picked to be the representative for the tournament and the Rose Bowl itself."

Toma looked at his dad in shock while his mom then took over the wording.

"The flights from Oahu to LA were provided by the tournament committee. We received 5 tickets for the game and grandstand seats for the parade and the other flight from here to Oahu we got as a bonus gift for you guys."

Now was my turn to ponder. "Us?"

"Yeah, after today we'll be going to Hawaii to spend a couple days there as a second honeymoon. Our plan is to have you guys join us on New years Eve morning, spend the day in paradise and that night fly to LA. The date line will make things more interesting than it already is as you can see you'll leave at 10:00 P.M. on the 31st and arrive at almost 5:00 in the morning on the 31st as well."

Tomas head wrapped himself around the tickets and all this generosity. "Wait you said 5…Who did you want me to invite?"

Touya chuckled at his sons wording. "We noticed you and that Misaka girl getting along during your Daihaisei Festival and we could tell something was brewing. So it's for her, unless she refuses in which case you can invite anyone else."

"So Toma, Misaka and I are flying to Hawaii?"

I could not help but cheer and go wild with excitement. As I joined his parents in setting up breakfast Toma stared at the 4 tickets in his box. Even as we ate his mind kept focusing on that box.

Later on while we explored the city and Toma was talking with his Mom about the events we were part of since they were last in town I stood back with Touya asking questions about the trip.

"Oh it's beautiful, warm sand, palm trees, and a really big ocean. Though you may want a different outfit."

"Outfit…"

"We can send you guys some beachwear before next Tuesday. What's your size anyway?"

I screamed and that led Toma to switch spots with me and now at was my turn for a little personal time with Shiina.

"So do you know what this Rose Bowl is?"

"It's a football game. They always play it every year on New Year's Day."

As she explained what football was and the stories behind the teams and their two QB's Mariota and Winston I took it all in. How was there so much more in entertainment besides what Toma was into in and around the city?

"Now what is this special deal about the parade?"

"All the floats are decorated with plants seeds and flowers. The most organic parade in the entire world."

The day sped along fine as we checked out Josephs Restaurant, Tokiwadai which for some reason was sealed off and tented, Toma's school and finally rounded out the day with Ice Skating at the citys rink. I took to it naturally and Toma…

"Why did you have to give out now?"

Not so much…His hand acted up and the blade on the bottom of his skate came off piercing a glass wall. Minus that a great day. By the time we got home and Toma's parents had to leave I was already dreading them walking out.

"Are you sure you guys can't stay."

Toma looked livid while his mom calmed him down. Touya then smiled at me. "As much was we want to, we have a flight to catch. Besides we'll see each other next Wednesday anyway. In sunny Hawaii."

His reassurance did make me smile.

"OK, guys have a safe flight," Toma walked his parents out while I stared at the three tickets placed on his fridge. This was really happening. I'm going on another trip, and this time it may be with Misaka. 10 minutes later Toma returned and closed the door sighing as he slid down.

"Well Toma, what now?"

"Now I've got to convince Misaka to come with…"

"And if not?"

"There other options, Fukiyose and Aisa among them."

Toma cleaned up the place while I sat on the couch pondering his wording. Although Misaka is a downright nesusnce to Toma. I can tell there is something mutal there. Toma sighed and I could tell we were both thinking the same thing.

"Its going to be a long few days."

A/N: Just 2 to go.
