The story before :
He stared at her for a while before finally sighed and stood up, lifting the brunette girl up in the process. He slowly put her down on the ground and started to check on her, to see if there is something wrong with her.
"Check her later, Black Cat."
Natsume turned his head, and found a blue haired girl standing a few meters behind him with a soft smile on her face.

Chapter 14
"What do you want? If you are here to take Mikan, I won't let you," said Natsume, threateningly while positioned himself protectively in front of the unconscious Mikan.
"What if I really want to do that?" asked the blue haired girl, still smiling.
"Over my dead body," answered Natsume, glared at her and pull out his silver pole.
"Stupid boy." Another woman's voice was echoing throughout the forest.
Natsume looked at his right, where the voice was heard, and found a pink haired girl standing while twirling her hair with a sly smile plastered on her face.
"Shit." Natsume curse under his breath.
It's hard to fight with two skilled opponents while protecting someone unconscious. Natsume is just hoping in his heart that they aren't as skillful as Mikan.
"Bring her out from here now, Hyuuga. We don't want to fight you," said the pink haired girl.
"Yeah, we will hold back the guards so they won't hinder your way," added the blue haired girl.
Natsume is confuse as to why his enemies were supporting him, but anyway, seeing chance to flee with Mikan, he quickly lifted her up from the ground, carried her bridal-style and started to run.
"Hey, wait a minute!"
Natsume stopped abruptly and stared back. Question is evident in his crimson eyes.
"Bring this, black cat.." The blue haired girl said while throwing something in Natsume's direction.
Natsume, being swift as always, despite the fact that he is carrying someone in his arms, caught it easily.
"What's this?" asked Natsume, scrutinizing the metal device which is glowing light blue.
"Just keep that. It will help you to remove that deadly bracelet of hers without making any harm to her," answered the pink haired girl.
"Don't forget to remove her bracelet as soon as you have arrived," advice the blue haired girl.
"I forgot one more thing! Here." This time it's the pink haired girl who throw something at Natsume.
Natsume scowled, but he still manages to catch the thing the pink haired girl throws at him. It is kind of tube with clear liquid in it.
"What is this?"
"Make her drink that now, black cat, or she would die," said the blue haired girl. "Don't ask why, just do it, her life is at the stake."
Natsume quickly put Mikan down and put the bracelet in his pocket. After that, he pulls open the lid on the tube and hold Mikan up while pouring the liquid into her mouth carefully.
He could clearly see the change after Mikan drink the liquid. Before that, her breath is unstable and she keeps gasping for air for this past minutes. But now, her breath is stable and calm, like someone who is sleeping.
"Now, hurry and go!" shouted the pink haired girl while gesturing him to go with her hand.
"Fine." Natsume throw the tube aside and started to run again.
Natsume reached the Academy's gates panting and sweating. He wanted to sit down and rest, but he shook the thoughts away and started to run again as soon as the gates opened. He keeps running, and when he has reached his destination which is Hotaru's lab, he slammed the door open and put Mikan on the operation bed.
"Move away and rest, Hyuuga. Let me and my brother handle the rest," said Hotaru, shoving Natsume away.
Natsume stumbled a little, but he managed to keep his balance. He is the renowned black cat anyway. It would be a total shame if he falls. He walked to the side lab and sit down, while watching Hotaru and her big brother working.
Hotaru reached up and pull away Mikan's mask, showing her a really pale face and bruised cheeks.
"Mikan." Hotaru muttered softly while lightly touch Mikan's cheeks. Sadness was evident in her voice. She quickly pulls up an oxygen mask and put it over her best friend's face.
"Hotaru." Her brother quietly called her.
Hotaru turned her head and saw that her brother has already strip Mikan's clothes, leaving her only with her undergarments. Her eyes widen, not because Mikan's nakedness, but more because of the scars and wounds which are scattered all over her body. Some of them have healed perfectly, leaving only barely seen scars, and some of them have a stich mark, thanks to Asuka's great treatment. But still, there are many nasty wounds which make Hotaru winced and wanted to kill the bastard who hurt Mikan right away for inflicting such horrible wounds.
Natsume was in shock too, as soon as he saw all the scary wounds Mikan has, he couldn't hold back his gasp.
"I will make sure that bastard die painfully in my hands," growled Natsume, beyond anger while standing up, approaching the operation bed to take a better look at the battered body of soon-to-be his girl.
"Back away, Hyuuga. You will only hinder the treatment." Hotaru glared at him.
Natsume rolled his eyes in annoyance and walk back to his spot. While he put his head on the cold wall, he said, "You need to remove that bracelet fast. Before it make any chaos or unwanted things."
"Just shut up, Hyuuga. I know what I must do." Hotaru coldly replied while removing the black box which is protecting the bracelet.
"Tch."
"Hotaru, take apart the bracelet now. It started to spread unknown liquid. It is really possible that the liquid will do some harm to Sakura's body," said Subaru while using his healing Alice on the part where the bracelet attached.
Hotaru quickly took out several of her inventions and started to work on that bracelet.
….
After a few minutes…
….
"Damn it! I can't pull it off fully!" Hotaru cursed in frustration.
"How many that you manage to take apart?" asked Subaru.
"Only this much," answered Hotaru, showing a dangling metal bracelet with spider feet attached to it. "I can't pull the needles out from her hand. It's too risky seeing that the needles are connected with her vital nerves."
"Imai."
Hotaru turned, glaring at the raven haired boy who called her in the urgent times like this. "What?" snapped Hotaru.
"Try this." Natsume calmly replied while throwing the device which is given by the blue and pink haired girls, to her. "They said it would help to remove the bracelet."
"They?" Hotaru lifted one of her delicate eyebrows.
"Yeah. Two new acquaintance," answered Natsume, shrugging.
Hotaru looked at the bracelet for a millisecond, before looking at Natsume with narrowed eyes. "You should tell me about them after this." After saying that, Hotaru turned to her big brother and said, "Please heal her, nii-san, while I tried to make this device work."
Subaru silently nodded and concentrated back to his work, which is healing Mikan.
Natsume tried so hard to sit quietly in the corner. He actually really wanted to help them. He felt that he must helped her as a sign of saying sorry because of he didn't protect her properly so she got caught by the AAO. But, it's pointless if he budging with the medical things, because the fact that he is more skilled in fighting than healing. He could beat hundreds of people, but he couldn't heal even one person. Helping them only makes things much worse than it already did.
"Nii-san, move away a bit," said Hotaru while holding the device which is glowing light blue.
Subaru scoot over and give Hotaru some space.
Hotaru put the device on Mikan's wrist, and as soon as it touched her wrist, it is glowing more brightly and nearly blinding all the people who are present that time.
After some minutes, the light is starting to disappear and the device is gone, leaving only Mikan wrist as smooth as baby's skin.
"It's a cool device, I have to admit," muttered Hotaru under her breath.
"Is she going to be okay now?" asked Natsume quietly.
"Yeah, I have already healed all her nasty wounds. The ones that were left are only the little wounds or light scars," answered Subaru, packing up his things.
"Thank you, nii-san," said Hotaru with flat tone. But still, Hotaru Imai, the queen of blackmailing and Ice queen is saying her gratefulness to her big brother who is not close to her is an epic.
A slight smile was gracing on Subaru's lips. "You're welcome, imouto," muttered Subaru and ruffled his little sister hair.
A shock expression can be seen passing through Hotaru's face, but she quickly hid it and wore back her cold and composed façade.
"It looks like I shouldn't interfere with the siblings bonding," said Natsume, walked out from Hotaru's lab with i-don't-care looks.
"Shut up, Hyuuga!" growled Hotaru, shooting her baka gun.
BAKA! BAKA!BAKA!
Natsume dodge them easily and turned his head "Just make sure that Mikan is alright."
"Mikan-chan is back?! Really?" squealed Anna, happily.
"Yes, I just read that from Hotaru's and Natsume's mind. They are the one who saved her," answered the mind reader, Kokoroyomi or Koko for short.
"Where is she now?"
"She is at Alice Hospital of course. Room 287 VIP."
"I can't wait to visit her!"
"I think it's kinda hard, Anna-chan, because she is still unconscious."
"What? How long has she pass out?"
"From the source of information, it has already been three days."
"Try that once more, I will make sure to burn you to crisp, Koko crunch," growled the fire caster, glaring at the sandy-haired boy who cowered in fear.
"And I will make sure too that you will receive many unlucky days if you try that to me," added Hotaru. Her purple eyes are flashing dangerously.
"Uhh.. I-I promise I won't do that again, Imai-san, Natsume-kun," said the mind reader in a total fear.
"But still, I want to visit her, Hotaru-chan!" said Anna.
"Yeah, I want to see her too," added Yuu, the class representative. He is looking at Hotaru with nervous looks.
"Just don't come when it's not visiting time," answered Hotaru flatly as she went out of the classroom.
"I missed Mikan-chan so much," said Anna, looking at the class window, where Alice Hospital can be seen behind several trees.
"She is the one who bring cheerfulness into this class anyway," replied Koko, smiled softly.
"Yeah, that's right."
"Hotaru?"
Hotaru turned her head and saw her prince-charming boyfriend approaching her with worry and anxious eyes.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" asked Ruka, sitting beside her on the grassy field.
"Nothing," answered Hotaru emotionlessly, as she stared at the sky which is orange colored, just like the meaning of her best friend name, Mikan.
"Please tell me, Hotaru. I didn't like it when you carried the burden by yourself." Ruka traced Hotaru's cheeks gently.
Hotaru looked away, hiding her blush. "It's none of your business."
Ruka lifted one of his eyebrows. "Of course it is. I'm your boyfriend."
"It's Mikan." Hotaru finally answered, after a few minutes of hesitating.
"What's wrong with her? She is already alright, right?" replied Ruka, confused.
"Yes. But still, her wounded body…" Hotaru trailed off. She looked at the sky once more with far away look. "I can't get it off my mind. Her wounds are so scary. I can't imagine someone who is evil enough to inflict such wounds to her," said Hotaru softly, while shook her head slowly, like trying to wipe away the painful images from her head.
"You have done a great job healing her, Hotaru, now stop worrying. She will be okay." Ruka pulled his girlfriend into a comforting hug.
"You didn't see her wounds, Ruka. They are horrible." Hotaru's voice is trembling.
Ruka looked at Hotaru's amethyst eyes, they look so vulnerable. Maybe her face is stoic and emotionless, but her eyes tell the actual feelings, her fear, her worry, her anxiousness, her rage, her every emotions, shown clearly.
"Please calm down first, Hotaru. She is okay now right?" said Ruka with soothing voice while carefully stroking her short raven hair.
"Yes," whispered Hotaru, looking down.
Ruka pulled up Hotaru's chin, making her staring straight into his cerulean blue eyes. "Then, there is no need worrying. She will be fine. She is a strong girl," said Ruka, gave out a reassuring smile before giving her a sweet kiss on her red lips.
The VIP room number 287 is really quiet there are only two people inside. One is a pale faced brunette girl who is lying unmoving on the hospital bed, wearing hospital clothes, and one is a raven haired boy with dazzling crimson eyes, who is sitting on a wooden chair beside the girl, holding her cold hand tightly, while stroking her golden brown hair with such gentleness.
"Mikan, I'm sorry.. Please wake up, I promise that I would protect you properly from now on, so you won't suffered from any torture anymore." Natsume whispered softly, while keep stroking Mikan's long hair. "I know I have been a jerk to you, and I'm sorry. I was way too coward to show my affection to you, so I covered it by being a jerk to you." Natsume is shaking his head slowly. Like he was regretting how stupid he was back then.
"You know, I have liked you from the first time we met. You gave me a really different impression. You are the only girl who is not falling head over heels for me, or clung to me. You are the only one who is brave enough to call me pervert, to kick me when I was doing something that you disliked, and the only one who caught my heart." Natsume sighed while slightly smiled. "I want to tell you my feelings so please wake up, Mikan. I missed you so much." Natsume stood up and stroked Mikan's brunette hair once more, before bending down and give a sweet peck on her lips.
"I love you." He whispered, as he walked out and carefully closed the hospital door.
