Chapter Fourteen

"No! I will rather die! Do you hear me Stefan! I will rather die!" She yelled, her entire body shaking as she stared her fiancée in the eyes. If they weren't at war before now they just began.

"I'm warning you Elena! Raise your voice one more time and I'll-"

"You'll what? What are you Stefan von Schwarzschild going to do? Are you going to slap me? Hurt me? Huh?" Elena fired back, her right hand forming a fist in case he did decided to hurt her.

Stefan's eyes were blazing with anger as he stared her down. He didn't say or do anything. He just grabbed the laptop on the desk and smashed it as hard as he could against the wall.

Elena stared at him, her heart beating faster than usual but she didn't comment. He turned to her and pointed his finger. "I will find out the truth!" and with those words he exited the room leaving Elena to wonder how this all happened.

12 hours earlier

She passed the room nervously, glancing down at the watch every minute to check the time, as she waited for him to arrive. She could feel fear creeping up on her even though she told herself that she was going to play this out and do whatever it took to convince him to keep this child. It was her child and she was going to do anything to keep it.

She heard the door open and then his voice. "Hi Vivian." He greeted the annoying woman that was living with them.

Elena could feel her palms getting sweaty. She felt as scared as the day she had been "kidnapped" by Damon, only now she didn't have to worry about guns being pointed at her but that could change too. As he walked into the living room she placed a soft smile on her face.

"There you are." He smiled as he walked over and gave her a soft kiss. "Have you heard from Brian? He promised to get the test results back to you in a couple of hours."

"Yes, Mr. Walters left 2 hours ago. I'm fine…but there is something I have to tell you." Elena said seriously, showing that this was important to her.

"Yes?" He asked as he took a seat around the table. "What would you like to tell me?"

Elena hesitated a little before taking a seat herself. "Can you ask Vivian to leave?"

"What? Why?" He asked, his voice suspicious. "I told you, she's here to help you. I don't see why you-
Elena cut him off.

"No, I don't mean fire her….just tell her to go for a walk or something. I want us to talk privately."

He got the wrong idea and Elena realized this by the smirk on his face. Great. Now he thought she wanted sex…just perfect. "Sure." He winked at her before standing up and exiting the room. She heard him tell Vivian to take the afternoon off completely. Elena was grateful honestly because she didn't want the woman to witness the argument they were going to have. When Elena heard the front door closed she watched as Stefan walked out of the kitchen right back into the living room with a smirk on his face. He started to undo his tie. "She's gone. Let's head for the bedroom."

"No, you got the wrong idea." Elena shook her head.

He raised his eyebrow the smirk was still plastered on him lips. "Do you want to do it on the table?"

Elena wanted to throw something at him at this point. She narrowed her eyes and said in a serious voice. "Please sit down. We need to talk."

At first he watched her to see if she was serious and then he sat down. "What is it?" He asked, his voice a little edgy. Obviously he wanted to get lade. Well, too bad but Elena wasn't in the mood and the sight of him repulsed her more now than ever.

She fiddled with her hands nervously. "Stefan something happened…and I need you to be open minded about this."

His facial expression changed and now he looked worried. "Don't drag it Elena, just tell me."

"Fine." She shied. "I'm pregnant."

She watched as his facial expression changed. At first he looked shocked then angry and then it turned to worry. He stared at her for a few seconds before shaking his head. "Impossible. I don't fuck without protection Elena."

"The condom must have broke, Stefan." She answered as she pushed the piece of paper in front of him. "I couldn't believe it myself…but it all makes sense." She told him as she took a seat next to him. "When I got back I started using the pill again…but I forgot to take it a couple of time…I think it was two days in a row."

He was staring at the piece of paper in his hand like it was the most important thing in the world. Elena decided to get his attention so she tugged on the paper until he looked up at her. "I know it's a lot to take in. It was for me too…" She whispered softly.

He shook his head. "I-I can't believe this. This cannot be happening right now!" He raised his voice.

"Why?" Elena asked. "Why are you so upset?" She tested the field to see his reaction.

He stared at her. Anger was written all over his face. "I made it clear from the fucking beginning Elena! I would give you anything…anything you want in this world but I don't want children!"

She shook her head, her eyes squinted. "You want to fuck but you don't want the responsibility!" She accused.

"I held up my part of the bargain! I used protection even thought you were said to be on the pill to avoid this…but still it happened!"

"It's a sign!" Elena shouted. "It's a sign that we should have this child!"

He laughed, an irritated laugh. "It's a sign of carelessness that's what it is!"

"How can you say that?" Elena question. "I –I can't believe what you're saying right now! I'm pregnant with your child and instead of comforting me you're yelling at me and telling me that this baby inside of me is a mistake!"

He shook his head. "What do you want me to say? That I'm happy to be a daddy? Is that what you want to hear? Well I'm not and you know that!"

Elena told herself that she wasn't going to cry about this. She wasn't going to let him get to her with these horrible words and his disapproval. She was going to do whatever it takes to keep this baby…even if it meant running away but first she wanted to try this peaceful way of dealing with him. She told herself that she wasn't going to let him make her cry but still hearing him say this made her see him as a even bigger monster. The tears broke out of her eyes. "You know when I was kidnapped all I wanted to do was return home…but when I got here it all felt foreign to me…I couldn't get back my normal life…whatever I did didn't completely fulfill me. I was never truly happy…until Brian told the news. At first I was scared just like you…but then this overwhelming happiness started to take over. I found myself thinking about our future…I found myself thinking about holding a baby in my arms." Tear droplets slid down her cheeks as she spoke.

Stefan stared and she could tell that he was still pissed but his walls were slowly falling. He ran his hand over his face and shied. "I-I-I just…it's not me Elena! I can't be a father." He said in this defeated voice she had never heard before. She wanted to push and asked why but also she didn't want him to become suspicious.

"Of course you can. Do you really think that I don't have any doubts about being a mother? I'm terrified but I'm willing to try and do my best." She said softly as she took a seat next to him and placed her hand over his. "I know you'll be a great dad. You have the potential-"

"Don't! Just don't!" He snapped. "I don't want you to sugarcoat it. I know what you're trying to do…but don't…I need to decide what I want on my own Elena." He told her in this cold and hatless voice as he stood up and grabbed his coat. He didn't even say where he was going and she didn't ask either. He just walked out of the house while Elena was left sitting around the table. She ran her hands through her hair. She needed to come up with a plan. If he didn't want this child she'd have to resort to running away. She placed her hand on her belly. "It's going to be okay…mummy will do anything to protect you." She whispered as tears slowly slid down her cheeks. "You don't need a daddy…not one who will end up behind bars forever or one who doesn't want you."

"Bourbon on the rocks." Bonnie smirked as she placed the glass in front of Jeremy Gilbert.

"Thank you…" Jeremy murmured as he took a drink.

Bonnie could tell that he was pretty nervous so she placed her hand on his shoulder. "Trust me…this meeting isn't a set up. I know these people."

Jeremy stared at her. "I shouldn't trust you. I don't even know you properly."

"True…but you've slept with me twice by now and I've never attempted to kill you in your sleep." She smirked.

Jeremy gave her a crocked smile. "For now." She laughed. "I still have my doubts though. I mean you only answer your phone by calling me back. Whenever I call you, you never answer."

"I'm a busy woman."

"Doing what?"

"Fixing beers and various cocktails for these people." She gestured around the room.

"You're not always here…which leads me to think you have somewhere else to be also."

She smirked. "Maybe I do."

"Where?"

She placed her finger on her lips and smirked. "That I cannot tell you."

He rolled his eyes. "You're not cute."

"Sure I am." She gave him another one of those charming smiles before she turned serious. "Listen…when Damon shows up just listen to him…don't go all crazy until you hear the entire story."

"You said it has something to do with my sister." Jeremy asked to clarify.

"Yes…but like I said just listen till the end." She warned.

"I'm going to listen because when it comes to Elena…I still get the chills. I still cannot believe she's back and alive. I mean it's been over a month since she re-" Jeremy stopped talking when Bennie's gaze wondered off into the distance.

"He's here." Bonnie told him quickly before heading off into the distance. Jeremy watched as she approached a tall black-hair man. He was wearing a leather jacket and black pants. He embraced Bonnie before kissing her cheek. She hugged him, a sort of brotherly hug, before placing her hand on his face and saying something that made the man look sad. Jeremy then noticed how he placed his hands on her shoulders and started to say something to her, his eyes not leaving hers. She only nodded her head. After their little talk Bonnie turned around and headed back to where Jeremy was sitting. He noticed the watery glow in her eyes. "Damon, meet Jeremy Gilbert."

"It's nice to meet you Jeremy." Damon said as he extended his hand with a warm smile.

Jeremy hesitantly extended his hand. "Damon." He only said.

"You two boys play nice." Bonnie warned. "This is a bar…and I don't want trouble."

"Don't worry Bonnie." Damon said to her.

"Can I get you anything Damon?" Bonnie asked as she picked up the empty glass on bourbon Jeremy had drunk from.

"No, I'm fine." Damon replied.

"Jeremy?"

"No, but thanks." He answered without looking at her. He continued to stare at Damon. He looked familiar to him.

I'll leave you two to talk now. I'll be at the bar if you need me." Bonnie told them before heading off.

Once Bonnie was gone Damon turned to the young Gilbert. Good they looked alike. Jeremy had identical doe eyes that Elena has. His hair was also brown just like hers. They were so much alike…it was eerie. He tired to look calm but he was nervous as hell. "Jeremy…thanks for meeting me. I know this must look all very confusing to you but trust me I'm not here to cause trouble."

The young Gilbert placed on a hard and serious face before saying. "Damon, the only reason I agreed to this is because Bonnie mentioned your name in the same sentence as my sister's."

"Elena." Damon whispered.

"Yes. Elena Gilbert. What do you know about my sister's disappearance?"

"I know that Stefan Von Schwarzschild is to blame."

That got his attention. He stared at Damon for a couple of seconds before saying. "Continue, please."

Damon took his time carefully to explain this. "Elena Gilbert went missing on May 17th right?" Jeremy nodded. "I saw who was after your sister."

"Who?" Jeremy demanded immediately.

"A group of people who work for a man named Conner Jordan."

"Why?"

"Because of Stefan. He hired them to kill her but I don't know why." Damon answered honestly. "I was there…I watched them grab her-"

"Why the fuck didn't you try to stop them?" Jeremy hissed, his hands turning into firsts.

"I did." Damon answered. "I saved your sister that day and brought her to stay with me. I hid your sister from them."

"What?" Jeremy asked confused. He was not expecting to here this.

Damon stared right into his eyes as he answered. "Elena had spent the entire time in hiding…she wasn't kidnapped. She was with me."

Jeremy stared at him, his facial expression blank. He couldn't believe this. Elena had simply told him that she was kidnapped not in hiding. Why hadn't she said anything. This guy must be lying. He shook his head. "I-I don't know what game you're playing but-"

"I'm not playing any game, Jeremy. I'm here to warn you to look after her. Get her out of Stefan's reach. She knows who he is but she can't get out. She can't escape him." Damon told him seriously.

Jeremy looked puzzled but soon his facial expression changed to scared. "Let's say I believe you. I still don't know how the hell am I supposed to get her away from him if she doesn't want to leave?"

Damon huffed. Honestly he had no idea what to tell the young man excepted the following. "You can't get her to completely leave him…it will be suspicious and he is too smart for that. The best you can do right now is try and look out for her. Keep her safe."

Jeremy glared at him and couldn't help but ask. "Why are you telling me this now? Why do you even care about what happens to my sister?"

Damon avoided his eyes as he answered. "Let's just say that I care about what happens to your sister because she's a good person. She doesn't deserve to get hurt."

Jeremy accepted the answer without further questioning. Elena was an angel and he knew that so there wasn't much debating on why Damon wanted to help her. He then asked. "You said she was in hiding with you? Why didn't you return her home sooner?"

"Conner Jordan was after her. If she had returned home they probably would have killed her...or one of your family members."

"Well she's home now and she's not dead." Jeremy pointed out the obvious.

"The media knew about her disappearance. He's not stupid. He can't get rid of her while everybody is on the lookout. The cops would be all over him, including the media."

It made sense. If there was one thing that Stefan wasn't known for it would be his stupidity. He was a cocky bastard but he was smart. Damon knew it and so did Jeremy. "That makes sense."

"I'm not here to screw Elena over Jeremy. I promise." Damon stated honestly as he passed a piece of paper which had a number written on it to the young Gilbert. "Give her this and tell her if she ever needs anything to just let me know. Also tell her…tell her that I'm sorry I failed her."

"Failed her?" Jeremy raised his eyebrow.

"She'll know what I mean."

It had been almost two hours since he left the apartment angry. Vivian returned shortly from her walk. Elena wasn't sure if he had called the woman or if she had returned on her own. She was now in her room sitting on the coach staring out of the window. She was scared. She had no idea what to do now. Was it wise to stay here…with him. What if he wanted her to have an abortion? She wouldn't allow that to happen…but then again she knew what Stefan was capable of. She had leant enough from Damon to know not to trust him. She ran her hand through her hair. She had considered running away…but her chances of succeeding were very slim. He would find her no matter where she went. He had the money and the connections to chase her to the end of the world.

"Elena! You have a guest!" Vivian yelled from the living room.

Elena jumped up to her feet, wiped her tears and took in a few quick breaths to calm down. Who had decided to come and visit her? As she opened the bedroom door she was met with her brother. "We need to talk." Jeremy stated as he pushed through the door and entered the room.

"Hello to you too." Elena muttered as she closed the door and turned to face him.

Jeremy stared at her. "I want to take you out. Let's go for lunch to-"

"Jeremy I can't." Elena cut him off.

"Why not? You're cooped up in here all the time. What do you do all day?" The young man asked.

"Listen, I can't right now. I-I have to discus something very important with Stefan."

"He can pick you up from the house when he's done with work. Come one." He grabbed her arm.

"No, I-I can't." She fussed.

"Yes you can." Jeremy stared her down. "Mum and dad miss you both and so do I. You haven't been home since you arrived." He stated the obvious.

"I-I just can't today." Elena tried to pull away from him.

"I'm not taking no for an answer. I'll get back-up if I have too." He smirked down at her. "Don't make me call Caroline."

She stressed even more. This is the last thing she needed right now. She didn't want to be around family. She knew they were her weakness and that she'd break down in front of them. She didn't want them to know about the baby…well not just yet. She still had time to hide it and to decided what was best for it.

"I'll get your coat." Jeremy said as he walked over and grabbed her red coat.

"Jeremy, I'm not going." She stated.

He stared at her for a few seconds before turning serious. "Elena you're family misses you. Don't be selfish." He snapped but she could tell that this wasn't the reason he had come to get her.

"We need you to come and spend some time with us." He stated as he approached her and held out the coat. "Here, put it on and let's go. Dad is waiting for you at home with scrabble."

She hesitantly took the coat from him before putting it on. This was a bad idea, she had just had a fight with Stefan and now Jeremy was dragging her home. She still had no idea what she was going to do. As they headed to the door Vivian quickly ran after them. "Are you leaving Elena?"

"Yes, I'm going home to see my parents."

"Have you told Stefan?" She asked, her eyes switching between Elena and Jeremy.

"No, I haven't and I'm not going to." Elena snapped. "When and if he comes home you can tell him that I've gone to visit my parents." With that she just swung the door open and headed out. Jeremy right behind her.

"What happened?" He asked when he got into the car.

"Nothing."

"You had a fight with him didn't you?" The Gilbert boy asked.

Elena ignored the question as she stared outside. She decided to ask him why was he so persistent. "Why are you dragging me home?"

"I'm not. We're going to Matt's apartment. We need to talk."

"About what?" Elena demanded, she was more than pissed right now.

"About your kidnapping." Jeremy stated as he glanced at her with accusing eyes.

"Stop the car!" Elena yelled.

"What the hell?" Jeremy stared at her.

"I said stop the car. I'm leaving." Elena said angrily. The last thing she wanted was to talking about her kidnapping.

"Elena, we are going to talk about this!" Jeremy stated angrily as he continued to drive.

"I'm not talking about it and you can't make me!"

"We'll see about that!" The young Gilbert boy shot back as he continued to drive.

Elena sat in her seat, staring out the window frustrated. This was the last thing she needed right now. She didn't want to talk about her kidnapping. She had already told them the cliff notes version with a few corrections. Soon they arrived to Matt's apartment. Jeremy and Elena both got out of the car. As she stepped out she immediately slammed the door shut and headed back out of the parking lot and onto the main road. Jeremy caught up with her. "Turn around Elena!"

"No!" She snapped angrily as she continued to walk.

Jeremy grabbed her hand. "I'll drag you back if I have to!"

"Let go of me or I'll kick your ass right here!" She threatened.

Jeremy laughed sarcastically. "I'd like to see that." With those words he grabbed her and spun her around. He made a move to pick her up but that's when she caught him off guard. She elbowed him in the ribs and twisted his arm around making him yelp.

"What the hell?" Jeremy screamed out when she let him go.

Elena got into his face. "I said, don't touch me." She snapped.

He stared at her. She wasn't the same. She wasn't that sweet and caring angel-like girl anymore. She was tougher and much more serious than usual. Her eyes were squinted with anger and she looked like she was prepared to kick his ass if she had too. "What happened to you?" Jeremy questioned.

"You need to stop with the questioning." Elena snapped at him as she turned around. She took a few steps but then stopped frozen when she heard Jeremy say the following.

"I want to talk about Damon Salvatore."

It took her a while to turn around but when she did her facial expression was blank. "I don't know who that is."

Jeremy could tell that she was lying. She was wearing that face that was intended to convince him otherwise. "Well he knows you."

"Well too bad, because I don't know him."

"Are you sure…because he claims to have kept you in hiding for those two months we thought you were kidnapped."

Elena started to panic. How on earth did he know about this? He wasn't supposed to find out about any of this. He shouldn't even know that Damon exists. She felt Jeremy walk up to her. "I know you weren't kidnapped."

Elena laughed sarcastically. "You don't know anything."

"I know that you spent those two months with Damon Salvatore. Black raven hair and blue eyes. A nice man from what I could tell."

"Well you're wrong about him." Elena snapped. "He's an idiot."

"He sent you this?" Jeremy handed her the number.

Elena stared up at him. "You met with him?"

"He called a friend of mine and asked for us to get in touch." He paused for a second. "He wants to help you. He told me to tell you that he's sorry that he failed you."

Elena started at her brother. This was getting out of control. What did Damon want now? Why was he trying to get in touch with her brother? This wasn't good. She glanced around to see if anyone was looking at them before turning to Jeremy. "Listen to me, you need to stay the hell away from Damon."

Jeremy looked confused. "Why?"

"Trust me. Don't go anywhere near that man." Elena told him seriously.

"Why? What happened?" Jeremy demanded.

Elena felt like she was in a trap. She couldn't avoid this. She had to tell him. "Listen, I thought Damon was one of the good guys but I was wrong. Stay away from him." She told the younger Gilbert seriously.

"What does he want from you Elena?" Jeremy asked worried. Yeah Damon seemed like a nice guy but he wasn't about to trust him over his sister's word.

"I-I don't know. All I know is that he's dangerous and you need to stay away from him Jer."

"What about Stefan?" Jeremy raised his eyebrow. "Damon shed some light on Stefan. I know he was the one responsible for you getting kidnapped."

Wow. Now Elena was worried. How much did Jeremy know? How much had Damon told him? Obviously enough to ask questions that Elena didn't want to answer. She hesitated. "Damon's a liar."

"No, you're the liar." Jeremy snapped. "I know you and I know you're hiding something from me. Why are you living with him still if he's the reason behind-"

"Stop it. You don't know anything and you need to stop digging!" Elena snapped. "I'm doing what I can to protect myself."

"From Damon or from Stefan?" Jeremy questioned.

"Both!" Elena shrieked at him before turning around. "Both of them are selfish bastards."

"Elena, tell me what happened and I'll get you away from both of them. Hey, sis." He grabbed her shoulder spinning her around. "Just tell me the truth and we'll go to the cops now."

She shook her head. "You can't help me Jeremy. No one can." She looked so scared as she looked around her. It was like she was afraid someone might be following them. "we need to get back to the car." She told him as she turned around and headed back to the car. Jeremy followed.

Once they were seated back in the car she turned around to face her brother. "I know you're trying to help…but you can't. I made a mistake when I agreed to date Stefan. He's not who he says he is." She shied before locking eyes with her brother. "I don't have a choice now. I have to stay with him…because if I don't he'll find a way to hurt me."

"Just tell me one thing, Lena. Was he responsible for your disappearance?"

She hesitated. Honestly she wasn't sure. "I don't know. I might have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time."

The young Gilbert nodded his head. "What about Damon? Where does he fit in all of this?"

"He first saved me from getting kidnapped and then…when he found out I was Stefan's fiancée he used me to bargain with Stefan."

Jeremy became even angrier upon hearing this. He honestly thought that Damon was out to help. "I should have known." He shook his head.

"You need to stay away from him, Jer." Elena stated seriously. "You can't trust him."

"Oh don't worry, I won't." Jeremy said in a bitter tone.

"This is bad Stefan."

"I know. I know. Believe me, I get it." He ran his hands through his hair wanting to scream out. This was all getting too much.

"You do realize what you have to do next, right?"

He growled angrily. "She wants to keep it! Damn it! How do I convince her to have a fucking abortion?"

The blue eyed man shook his head, his features determined. "You don't convince her, you make her do it. It's time she started acting like your fiancée."

"This is not a pair of shoes we are talking about!"

"And she's not Meredith which is why you need to finally show her who you really are."

Stefan shook his head. "No…I can't. She can't know yet. She'll flip. She'll know I was the reason for Damon grabbing her."

"What is wrong with you? Are you weak, boy? Are you pathetic? Is that what you are?!" The man yelled getting out of his seat. "You want her as your wife, than put her in her place! She won't obey you unless you show her a reason why she has to!" The man yelled.

"It doesn't work like that! She's-she's too fucking attached to her family. If she spills the beans to her brother there is a big chance-"

"YOU'RE PATHETIC!" The man yelled at him. "Think and think carefully about how you're going to play this out, Stefan because if you screw up I'm done with you."

"I-I won't."

The man smirked. "I hope so…" He walked over to Stefan and patted his shoulder. "You managed to put your sister in her place. April, the sweet little cheerleader, is at your mercy. So don't disappoint me with Elena. She's the easiest target you have. Don't make yourself look weak because she's pregnant with your child. She's just a play toy, you're desire. You know I have no problem with you playing around with women. Pick them, fuck them and do whatever you want with them but don't get them pregnant. You know what we talked about. When the time comes you will marry his daughter and she will give you an heir."

Stefan was scared to ask the question that has been bugging him for quite some time now which is why he kept his mouth shut. He smiled at the older man. "She's the one I love the most."

"Of course." The man nodded his head.

"I'd do anything for her, you know that." Stefan stared into his blue eyes with determination.

"I know." The man nodded his head with a smirk. "I use to be you, my boy. I use to love blindly but like I said, have fun. Enjoy your youth before you finally settle down."

Stefan nodded. "You're right."

The man smirked. "I believe April has been looking for you. Why don't you go and fuck out that frustration."

Stefan laughed. "I just might do that."

"If anything happens, call me. Day or night, Lena." Jeremy told her as he passed her the small phone. "It's untraceable. We'll communicate by texting."

"Jer, don't worry. I can take care of myself." Elena smiled at him as she hugged him.

"I'll always worry. You're my little sister." He reminded her. "I won't let anyone hurt you."

"I know." Elena smiled as she pulled back.

"Okay, go inside. I'll keep watch. " He told her

As she stepped out of the car she turned to him. She hesitated before saying. "Promise me you won't contact Damon anymore."

Jeremy kept his mouth shut. She huffed. "Please." She begged.

"I can't promise that, Lena. I fucking want to kill him for handing you over!" The young Gilbert said angrily.

"It's better that I'm here then with him." Elena said although she wasn't sure where it was better for her. In all honesty it would be best if she could run off somewhere where both Stefan and Damon wouldn't find her.

"What's he done?" Jeremy asked.

Elena shook her head. "It doesn't matter. I hate him for handing me over, everything else isn't important."

It was true. She had managed to move past the fact that he pointed a gun at her face, at this after he told her his story, but what he did…how he betrayed her insured that she'd never forgive him for that.

The room was dark, the curtains were down and the lights were out. She was sitting on the vanity chair opposite from the bed as she watched the door open. He turned on the lights and caught sight of her sitting in the room. "What are you doing in the dark?" Stefan questioned.

"Waiting for you." She told him, her voice edgy.

"Well I'm here." He answered arrogantly.

"Where were you?"

"None of your business." He told her in that control freak voice as he took off his tie.

"I'm your fiancé, so I deserve to know." Elena demanded.

He stopped in his attempt to take his shirt off and turned to her. "Things are about to change Elena."

"Damn right they are!"

He stared at her, his eyes blazing with anger. "Keep your voice down. Do not raise your voice on me." He told her through clenched teeth.

"Do not patronize me, Stefan." She stood up from the chair. "Where were you?!"

It was a split second and he had her up against the wall with his hand around her throat. "Don't ever use that tone with me again…or we're going to have big problems."

She could barely breathe…his hand was way too tightly wrapped around her neck that he was stopping her air supply. "S-stop." She managed to say.

He let go of her and stepped back. "That was a warning." He pointed to her with a serious facial expression.

Elena held onto her neck, it hurt, as she stared at him. What had happened to him? Was he seriously being violent towards her? How could he do this especially now that she was pregnant? She took a few steps back as she watched him.

"What? You look surprised? Didn't you ask for it? I warned you not to raise your voice." He walked right to where she was standing. Elena took a step back, placing her hands onto her stomach to shield the baby. He noticed it. "What? Do you really think that I'd hurt the baby?"

"You just tried to strangle me."

"You're being dramatic. That was nothing. It was a simple warning, Elena." He told her, his voice soft as if he was giving her a compliment.

"For what?"

"Stay out of my business." He growled. Now she was scared. What if he knew that she knew about Damon and his story? Did he find out? She was trembling as he placed his hand on her cheek. "Don't be afraid. That won't happen again if you listen and follow instructions."

"Don't you ever place that hand on me again." Elena told him with determination in her eyes. "I will walk out that door without giving it a second thought."

He smirked, he liked the determined look in her eyes. She would be fun to play around with. "Proof Elena. You need proof and you have nothing." He smirked at her. "I can keep you here as long as I want."

"What makes you think that?" She questioned. "Are you going to threaten me with the baby?"

"No, because you're going to get rid of that thing."

"I can't Stefan."

"YES YOU CAN!" He growled at her.

"I'm almost 3 months pregnant. I'm entering my third month. It's risky. I could die!" She yelled at him and that got his attention.

He stared at her, his eyes blazing into hers. "You're lying! You're not even a month pregnant!"

"No! I-I figured it out today. I found one of your condoms broken in the basket about 3 months ago. I must have gotten pregnant then." She lied. She had to. She couldn't let anything happen to the baby. She was hoping that Stefan wouldn't hurt her but then again, after what he just did...it was all risky.

He shook his head. "You better not be lying…or I'll-" He stopped himself. He didn't finish the sentence. He grabbed his head into his hands as he turned to the window. He stared for a few seconds before turning around. "I'm taking you to the hospital. Get your handbag!"

"W-what? Why?" Elena panicked.

"Don't ask questions, get your stuff!" He yelled.

"I'm not going." Elena told him simply. "It's 9 o'clock Stefan."

"I don't care! I will find out the truth!" He yelled grabbing her coat and her handbag. "Put this on!" He demanded.

Elena took the coat from him angrily. "I'm not going!" She yelled as she threw it on the floor.

He took a step towards her, his hand raised as if he was about to slap her but he didn't. "Get your coat on or I'll put in on you." He said in a low tone.

She stared at him. Honestly she didn't have a choice right now. She knew deep down that she had to go or he'd make her go if she refused. She picked up the coat and placed it on. He came up behind her with a brush and started to brush her hair. It scared her when he took a piece of it to smell. "Beautiful shampoo." He commented. He was a freak and Elena realized just now how blinded she was. How could she live this long with this man and not notice that he was a sociopath. That was a question she didn't have the answer to.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her along. Elena resisted. "I can walk on my own." She snapped when she pulled her hand out of his hold.

He walked out of the room without saying anything to her, he took out his car keys as he said to Vivian. "We'll be back later."

"Okay Sir." She nodded.

Elena glanced at her for a split second and she looked worried. Why was Vivian worried? Did she hear them arguing? Probably she did. Elena dismissed the woman from her mind as she walked out of the house. When they were in the car he turned to her. "You better not be lying or I'll make you have a fucking abortion tonight!" He looked pissed.

"I'm not lying!" Elena yelled back, although she knew she was. She had to keep this up…but there was no point. He was going to find out. Just a blood test would show that she wasn't that far along. She had to escape. She opened her bag to check for the phone inside. The one Jeremy had given her…it wasn't there. She felt tears in her eyes wanting to pour out. She glanced at him, he looked calm as he drove, but his hands were so stiff. They were gripping the steering wheel so tightly that it would have broken if it wasn't made of steel.

He glanced at her, noticing the tears in her eyes. "You should have told me. We could have avoided all of this."

"I didn't know."

"Yes you did. You knew about this that's why you were avoiding the doctor's appointment." He accused.

"I swear I didn't know!" Elena cried.

"Shut up!" He yelled back at her. "I told you to keep your fucking voice down!"

"Why are you like this? What happened to you Stefan?" She sobbed out.

"Don't you fucking start!" He turned to her. "You don't like me? Well, too bad darling." He smirked. "This is who I am."

"You're a monster!" Elena yelled. "You're not the man I fell in love with!"

He laughed. "You fell in love with an illusion…and you're going to live in an illusion until I say otherwise." He told her, his eyes pricing into hers.

She cried the rest of the ride to the hospital. He told her to stop crying quite a few times but she didn't. She just continued and here they were in the parking lot of the hospital. "Stop crying!" He yelled.

"I want to go home! Take me home!" She cried.

"First we are going in there to see how far along you are and then we'll see what to do next." He hissed as he grabbed her hand. "Listen to me, you are going in there…it's better to go in there like a good girl then to have me drag you inside."

"I'll scream!" She yelled back at him.

"So what?" He laughed. "Elena, I have an entire story to feed the doctors!" He told her. He made a sad face, almost helpless. "She's sick. All those things she went through…it's all so sad."

"You're a monster!" She yelled back at him. "How can you do this to me?!"

"Because I don't have a choice!" He yelled back at her, and for a second she caught a glimpse of sadness in his eyes but it was replaced quickly with anger again. "Get out and act like a normal pregnant woman or I'll have them admit you into the psychiatrically institute."

She pulled herself together and got out of the car…scared, venerable and completely helpless. This was it. She might lose her baby in there. She felt him place his hand around her waist. "Let's go baby." He had a smile on his face.

As they entered the building Elena felt like she was going to collapse at any moment. Stefan whispered into her ear. "Don't do anything stupid. I want you as my wife still…so don't ruin it."

She felt a shiver run down her spin. He led her over to the reception. "Hi, my fiancée just found out that she's pregnant and we need someone to check her out." He smiled at the dark skinned woman who was working behind the computer.

"Alright sir. Let me check when we have a free-" Stefan cut her off.

"I'm Stefan Von Schwarzschild, please make it in the next 10 minutes." He gave her a smile.

The woman stared at him before leaning against the table. "I'm sorry, did you say that you were President Obama?" She mocked and Elena could tell that he was becoming pissed. "I don't care who you are. Take a seat and wait just like everybody else."

"I want to speak to your supervisor. Now." Stefan snapped at her.

"I'm sorry but that's-"

"Make it possible!" He snapped again, his green eyes piercing into hers.

"Is everything alright here." One of the guards approached them.

"No, I want to speak to the supervisor." Stefan said angrily.

A nurse approached him. "What's going on?"

"This man wants his fiancée checked out tonight and he's making a-"

"Mrs. Alyson." Stefan said as he read the name tag the woman was wearing. "I need my fiancée checked out tonight. My name is Stefan Von Schwarzschild. I'm sure you've heard of me. Don't make this harder than it already is. I will make a complaint to your supervisor and by the end of tonight, you, you and you" He pointed to each one, the receptionist, the doctor and the guard. "will lose you're jobs."

The nurse looked a little freaked out. "I-I'll see what I can do." She said quickly before turning around and leaving. Stefan pulled Elena long with him to the corner of the room. "Be good. Don't you dare say anything to anyone, understood?"

She only nodded her head. A woman in a white coat came into the waiting room shortly after. "Miss Elena Gilbert." She called out.

"Yes, that would be this little lady." Stefan smiled politely at the woman as he held his hand around Elena.

She approached them. "My name is Ivy. I'll be your OBGYN, Elena." She smiled kindly. She caught sight of Elena who looked like she was about to through up. "Are you alright?"

"Y-Yes." Elena squeaked out.

"She's just a little upset with the way we have been treated since we arrived. You're staff is very poor." Stefan snorted.

"I apologize, Mr. Von Schwarzschild. Obviously, Linda didn't know who you were." The woman said, her mouth forming a soft smile.

"Obviously." Stefan snickered annoyed.

"Come on Elena, follow me." The woman said. Stefan grabbed her hand before she could take after the woman.

"Can I come too? I want to hear everything regarding my fiancée."

The woman smiled. "You can come in later. Right now she's just going to take a blood test. You don't need to hold her hand for that, do you?" She asked.

Stefan's hand tightened around Elena's. "Do not dare say anything to her, understood?" He whispered. "I'll kill that baby instantly." He threatened through a smile.

"I-I won't." She promised in a hushed tone.

He smiled. "Good." He placed a kiss on her check before smiling. "Now off you go."

Elena took a few steps before she turned around. He was watching her every move. She felt so scared as she turned around and followed the doctor. She didn't want to lose this child…but the test was going to show that not only was she pregnant barely two months but that she got pregnant while she was kidnapped. She wasn't pregnant with his child…she was pregnant with Damon's child.
