Aragorn road up to take Arainya's place and raised an eyebrow at his long time friend. "What do you think of her so far?"
"I think we can trust her, and she's had plenty of experience in combat and being on the road." Legolas said as he watched the young half elf gracefully drop from her saddle and walk beside the dwarf who glanced at the horse who walked behind them with no lead warily. As if it would jump forward and eat him.
"You approve. I'm glad I think she would be a good addition to our team, she's plenty competent in a fight. But what do you think of her?" Aragorn asked again. "You knew her before we met up with her."
"I didn't know her, till we met her we had never even talked before. She came to a clearing in the woods when she was a child, the first time I scared her off, but she came back again and again always to that clearing to enjoy the forest and the peace it offered her. It wasn't until a month later I noticed she was even Elvan. All I knew was she came there to escape her aunt and her lessons though she often brought books with her to the clearing and she had some skill with a weapon and she cared deeply for her horse."
Aragorn gave him a look his friend had just told him plenty about the girl. That she was smart and skilled, kind and brave to return on her own to the forest after being frightened off. That she liked the calm and peace and enjoyed the simple things in life. A few traits he noticed she shared with Legolas. "And after talking to her?"
Legolas sighed thinking over the conversation he had with her. "She's still kind, and had a hard life even though she's royalty." That got a surprise out of his friend. "She only has a handful of people who are close to her and she considered friends including her horse. She left her home eight years ago after her aunt was going to send her to Gondor to be married. Spent two years in Lothlorin and spent the last six on her own wandering middle earth following that sense she has."
Aragorn nodded, "You like her. So do I and Gimli." He said watching as something she had just said had the dwarf laughing loudly.
