Chapter 14: Can This Get Any Better?

The three stood at the TARDIS doors which were wide open, allowing them to watch the extravagant view. Both Rivers gazed in wonder at the freezing planet beneath them. They watched as its icy peaks began to melt, peeling off to reveal life underneath. While other rocky mountains fell converting into giant splashes of water that would form deep fathoming oceans. Who says creation stories are exaggerated? The whole planet what seemed gradually to them was transforming before their eyes. The cold and lifeless planet now swarmed with patches of lush green, awaiting the new life that would inhabit it for the next few centuries.

The Doctor watch his wives intently pleased at their reaction, he smiled at their expressions. He could feel it, feel the admiration through them and it felt wonderful.

Past River sipped the hot chocolate within her grasp, warming her fingers. The Doctor had insisted that they have hot chocolate today and of course neither River had been able to stop his childish way. She turned around to face The Doctor.

"I better be getting back" she smiled.

"Already?" The Doctor smiled back.

"You can't keep both of us Doctor, any more of that and we'll create some sort of nasty paradox, we don't want that now do we" she scolded him.

The Doctor grew stern for few seconds too long, but Present River's soothing smile brought him back to hear and now. The word paradox seemed to remind him of Amy a great deal too much.

"Of course we don't" Present River took over.

"Today has been absolutely amazing" Past River grinned, for she had no idea about her parent's future.

"Honey you have no idea"" Past River chuckled drawing away attention from The Doctor.

"All I can say..." she carried on. "Is that you have a lot to look forward to" River thought about the last few miraculous days and sweetly sighed.

"Do I now?" Past River teased.

"Spoilers." The Doctor smiled, back from his sea of thoughts.

Both Rivers giggled.

"Okay River, where should I drop you off?" The Doctor asked politely.

"No way, I'm not having any of your flying" Past River exclaimed.

"I'll fly her myself" she spoke stubbornly and walked off to the TARDIS console.

"Are you okay?" Present River asked leaning on the railings. The Doctor stood in front of her pulling her into an embrace. He immediately felt better and kissed her on the forehead.

"Of course I'm okay" he whispered.

"Not the king of okay?" River chuckled.

"No No, that really is an awful title, what was I thinking" The Doctor shook his head flustered while River smiled sincerely at him.

"What are you smiling at Mrs Song?" he asked.

"Can this get any better?" River looked up at him.

"I believe it can indeed" The Doctor replied beeping her on the nose.

"There really is no limit with you now Doctor is there?" River grinned.

"Nope!" he exclaimed, his eyes twinkling.

"Come on River!" he called her from the console.

"You must see off yourself" he laughed.

Past River hugged The Doctor tightly, kissing him lightly.

"Till the next time River" he announced.

Past River nodded in reply and then turned to Present River. The two held a short embrace and then off went Past River out of the TARDIS.

The Doctor snapped his fingers and the doors swung shut.

"So what next?" he enquired.
