Aelita's POV

Aelita plopped down at their normal lunch table, placing her lunch tray in front of her. Today was Rosa's famous spagetti and meetballs. Aelita could still hear Odd haggling for an extra serving at the lunch line, and his shout of glee when he got one brought a smile to Aelita's lips. After a few seconds Odd sat down next to her placing his own tray piled high with food on the table.

"Morning Aelita." he said digging into his food. She hid a laugh as he practically inhaled his food.

"Morning Odd." was her only response before she was eating as well, albiet much slower and quieter than Odd. Her thoughts wondered over to the blonde sitting next to her. You had to wonder what brought them together. They barely had anything in common. She was quiet and shy, while he was usually loud and outgoing. She was responsible, and he was free spirited. She followed the rules, and he broke them(ocasionally). She was a straight A student, and he was...well, she loved Odd but even she had to admit he wasn't the brightest person she'd ever met. Althought he did apply himself when it was nessisary; even if he had no chance at what he was doing.

So, all that considered, it made her wonder, what held them together? She loved him, and wanted to be with him, no matter what anyone thought about it. The school still thought that they were cousins afterall. If they were caught dating...well, forget the school. Forget what anyone else thought. She loved Odd della robia and she wasn't going to give him up for anything. If anyone found out, they'd just have to deal with it. She was pulled out of her thoughts as Odd's hand covered hers.

"Something wrong princess?" he asked pushing away his now empty tray. She gave a small smile, shaking her head.

"No. Nothing's wrong. Just thinking." she replied.

"About?" he asked playing with a lock of her hair. She'd grown her hair out in the last few weeks. She'd taken a que from her older self and put her hair in two large pigtails that hung to just below her shoulders. Hesitaiting for a split second before answering she said,

"We need to be more careful." she said. Odd raised an eyebrow in question, so she continued. "About us being together in public. Everyone thinks we're cousings. We've been lucky not to be caught yet, but if we aren't careful we will be." Odd shrugged.

"I don't care what anyone else thinks about us." he said matter of factly. She nodded at him.

"Neither do I. But that doesn't mean we should encourage it either. I just think we should be more cautous." she finished. After a moment Odd gave a disapointed sigh.

"Your right, we should be more careful in public." he said. "I don't care if we get caught, but I agree with you on this."

"Ok then." she said hugging him.

"Besides," Odd said smirking, "I like the idea of sneaking around hiding from everyone." Aelita giggled in response.

They sat in silence for another few minutes before Odd caught sight of the others walking up to them.

"There are the others." he said. "Ulrich told me he had something to tell everyone, so hopefully we'll find out now." Aelita nodded as Ulrich, Yumi, Jeremy, and William sat down. After exchanging a few greetings Odd spoke up catching everyone's attention.

"So Ulrich, what did you want to tell us?" he said. Everyone turned to Ulrich, and he paused for a while before answering.

"Well...I haven't told anyone except Odd about this but my parents moved from Germany to here a few weeks ago." he said surprising them. Yumi spoke up.

"They did? Why?" she asked. Ulrich shrugged.

"Well I told you I fixed things between my dad and I, and I think he just wants to be around more and 'reconect'." Ulrich said. Jeremy nodded.

"Makes sense. I mean you and your dad patch things up, and he all of a sudden wants to spend more time together. It's understandable." Ulrich nodded to him.

"Yeah. But since they moved here, I'm going to be a day student like Yumi." he said. Odd frowned.

"You mean we won't be roommates anymore?" Odd asked. Ulrich nodded. Odd's arms shot up in the air. "Yay! I get a room to myself!" Ulrich rolled his eyes.

"Gee Odd, love you too." he said. Odd gave him an apolegetic look.

"Sorry, good buddy. I am going to miss being your roommate. You can count on that." he said. Ulrich nodded smiling before suddenly looking around for something.

"Uh, sorry guys. I forgot Jim wanted to see me about something. I gotta go find him." he said catching Yumi and Odds attention. They both new about Ulrich's secret now, so he'd told them about Jim helping him out.

"Anything wrong?" Yumi asked him. Ulrich shook his head.

"I don't think so. I think it's just Jim being Jim." he said reassuring her as he got up and left.

There was silence for several minutes before Jeremy spoke up.

"So...Ulrich's a day student now, huh." he said. Everyone nodded.

Odd frowned again. "I really am going to miss him being my roommate." They all exchanged pleasant conversation after that for a few minutes more, before they all got up and headed to their next class.

Ulrich's POV

Ulrich stepped out onto the cafeteria steps, catching sight of Jim standing around in the courtyard. Jim saw him as well, and they both headed towards eachother meeting halfway. Ulrich spoke first.

"Hey, Jim. What'd you need?" Jim shrugged before speaking.

"I just thought I'd warn you about gym today. You'll have to climb the rockwall." Ulrich frowned. He'd never liked the rockwall. He had vertigo growing up, so it was difficult for him. And ever since he'd found about him being a werewolf Jim had explained that his vertigo was a side effect of his werewolf half. Wolves weren't ment to climb after all.

"That's going to suck." Ulrich said. Jim nodded.

"You sure you don't want me to excuse you today?" he asked. Ulrich gave it some thought before shaking his head.

"Nah. We don't want anyone to get suspicious, and I can handle the rockwall. I've done it before." Ulrich said. Jim nodded.

"Okay. But be careful." Jim said before walking away. Ulrich moved to walk away, but something caught his eye. He looked out to the perimeter fence that went around Kadic. A man was standing outside the fence looking in. But he wasn't just looking in. He was staring directly at Ulrich. His clothing was strange.

He wore a long, black trench coat that reached almost to the ground, combat boots, and a large strange looking hat that was black as well. The second they made eye contact the man turned and began walking down the street disapearing from view.

Ulrich stood there for a few seconds before shaking himself out of his thoughts and walking away.

Later

Ulrich sat down next to Odd and Yumi just as Jim began shouting to the class in his overly loud voice about what they would be doing today. Yumi turned as he sat down.

"What did Jim want?" she asked. Ulrich waved his hand dismisively.

"Just wanted to warn me about the rockwall today. Asked if I wanted to skip it, but I don't want to make anyone suspicious." Ulrich said in response. Yumi raised an eyebrow.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" she asked. "It isn't just about suspicion. Your vertigo could get you hurt." Ulrich nodded.

"I'm sure. I've done it before. Besides, there's a mat." Yumi looked at him pointedly.

"It doesn't completely protect you. Especially if you fall from the top." she said. Ulrich shrugged.

"I'll just have to deal with it." he said. Yumi looked like she wanted to continue arguing, but nodded in the end.

"Fine, but be careful." she said turning back. Ulrich nodded, before turning his attention to Jim. While they had been talking Jim had already begun calling people up to climb. Eventually Odd was called up, who climbed the wall without any problems. The same with Yumi. Then William. Finally, it was his turn.

He approoched the wall causiously. The last thing he needed was to fall and get hurt like Yumi said. Then she'd just say I told you so. Normally for something like this he'd try using his werewolf agility and strength, but since his vertigo was a direct product of his werewolf half it would only make things harder. Shaking himself out of his thoughts he reached up, grasping the wall and beginning the climb.

Needless to say, he'd be lucky to make it halfway up. He could already feel his vertigo acting up. Against his better judgement he glanced down and his head swam as he realized he'd somehow passed the halfway mark. Blinking rapidly to clear his vision, and shaking his head slightly he reached up and continued climbing.

He wasn't sure how long he was climbing. It was certainly shorter than it seemed. Everytime he felt his vertigo was becoming to much he'd stop, clinging desperatly to the wall until it passed. He heard Odd and Yumi cheer below him. Looking down at them in surprise he glanced up to realize his head was level with the top. All he had to do was climb up. His hand reached forward over the edge.

And his foot slipped. For a split second he hung despearately onto the wall with one hand, before loosing his grip and plummeting down. He barely registered Yumi, Odd, and Jim shouting before he'd hit the ground, blacking out.

A Moment Later

Ulrich groaned clutching his head. There was a loud pounding in his skull, and he realized someone was shaking his shoulder to wake him. Opening his eyes, wincing at the light, he realized Odd and Yumi were crouched on either side of him while Jim was looking at his leg.

He tried to sit up, but quickly fell down as his shoulder gave out. Yumi leaned forward.

"Ulrich?" she said, her hand reaching for his chin. "Ulrich can you hear me?" He nodded, and there was a greatful sigh from his girlfriend. Jim spoke up.

"You hurt your leg in the fall. I can't tell how bad it is, but it isn't broken at least." He turned to Yumi and Odd as he said this. "You two take him to the nurse, and have him looked at." They nodded. He gave a gasp as they helped him up, forcing his leg to move. He didn't care if his leg was broken or not. It HURT.

They managed to lift him up, suporting him on their shoulders, and led him out the gym door.

Jeremy's POV

Jeremy was sitting at the gangs usual bench. The others were all in class at the moment, and he was on his own. Technically he was supposed to be in gym, but he didn't really feel like excersising at the moment, or ever.

To top things off, he'd forgotten his computer today and had nothing to do. Without anything to keep him busy his mind unintentionally began to wonder mindlessly from thought to thought. A shadow fell across him. He looked up, and was surprised to find Emily standing in front of him.

"Hi." she said waving. He nodded.

"Uh, hi." She pointed to the spot next to him.

"Do you mind if I-" she trailed off in shyness. Emily was alway shy around people. Even her closest friends. He motioned to the seat, and she quietly sat down.

"What are you doing?" she said after a moment. He shook his head.

"Nothing I guess. There's nothing to do." he said. She nodded. Another long pause. Then,

"I would have assumed you'd be with Aelita." she said. Jeremy looked at her. "Being that your-" Again she trailed off. Jeremy shook his head.

"No...we're not...um" Emily reddened as she realized she'd made a mistake.

"Oh...I thought you like her?" she said. He nodded.

"I...do, but she's...with someone else." he finished uncomfortably.

"Oh, I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-" He shook his head at her.

"No it's fine." After a pause he continued. "I do like her, but we're not meant to be I guess. I've been trying to get over her, but it's not something that happens over night." Emily nodded.

"Bit like me then." she said before she froze realizing what she'd said. He looked at her.

"What do you mean? You like someone?" he asked. Her face redenned, and she looked around before saying.

"Promise not to say anything?" He nodded. Again she looked around before looking at her feet.

"I've...kind of had a crush on Ulrich for a while now." she said surprising him.

"Really?" he said. She nodded. More silence. Then.

"Who's Aelita dating?" she asked him. He hesitaited.

"I can't really say. She doesn't want anyone to know yet." he said. Emily nodded.

"Oh." she said. "So your trying to get over her?"

"Yeah, but it isn't that easy." he said. She smiled slightly.

"I know. I've been trying to forget about Ulrich for weeks now." she said. He smiled back.

"Well I guess we can move on together." he said making her giggle slightly. After that they just sat in silence, not needing to say anything for the moment. Then Jeremy spoke up again.

"Hey, um...would you maybe...I donno, want to go to a movie...or...a movie-" he trailed off, floundering badly. Emily giggled loudly at him, her shoulders shaking. He looked away, taking it as a no.

"Sure." she said catching him off guard.

"What?" he said turning back. She smiled again.

"I said sure." she said. He blinked.

"R-really?" She nodded before looking over her shoulder.

"I should get going. See you at...7?" she said raising an eyebrow. He nodded, wordlessly. And she got up to walk off. Finding his voice he called out,

"Shouldn't you be in class?" She turned back, her shyness seemed to have disapeared, and she smirked boldly saying.

"Shouldn't you?" And then she left leaving him alone. He sat there for several seconds before shaking his head blushing as he realized he had a date.

"Not so hard after all." he said before getting up and leaving.

Yumi's POV

The walk to the nurses office was short, and none of them felt like talking. So her and Odd contented themselves with making sure Ulrich didn't hurt himself trying to walk on his own. He was already hurt enough.

A moment later and they were dragging Ulrich through the infermeries doorway calling Yolanda. Said nurse turned and upon seeing the state Ulrich was in promptly ushered Ulrich into a bed. Yumi and Odd were them sent to wait outside as Yolanda began examaining Ulrich's leg. She turned to Odd.

"How bad do you think it is?" she asked. He sighed in frustration.

"I don't know. I doubt it's just a sprain. Ulrich never shows much pain unless it's serious, and he was gasping in pain on the way." Yumi looked at the ground. Odd was right. Ulrich rarely showed any pain or discomfort unless he had to. He said it was so that he didn't worry them, but she wasn't entirely sure she believed that.

"I hope it isn't anything to serious." she said quietly. Odd nodded. After what seemed like an hour Yolonda's door opened and they were let in. Yumi's eyes widened as she saw Ulrich's leg wrapped tightly in bandages from his knee to his foot. A second set of bandages were wrapped around his chest and right shoulder.

He smiled at them as they entered.

"Hey Yumes." he said, using his favoured nickname for her. She didn't smile back, and his face fell. She turned to Yolonda.

"How bad is it?" she asked. Yolonda shook her head in exhasperation.

"Well to start he has a minor concusion and has to stay here under watch." Yumi winced. If that was just the start..."He shoulder was dislocated in the fall and will take time to heal, and his leg is fractured in two places. He won't be walking anytime soon for at least a week. He'll have to stay here until he heals."

Yumi frowned at Ulrich, who was avoiding her gaze. She breathed deeply to clear her head. Yolonda continued speaking after a pause.

"For now however he's fine. Thank you for bringing him here, but now you'll have to go back to class." she said ushering them towards the door. Saying a quick good bye Odd left. Yumi however didn't move. " I must insist that you leave. Ulrich needs to rest." She looked at Yolonda imploringly.

"Just...give us a minute, please." she asked. Yolonda looked from her to Ulrich before giving her a simpethetic look and nodding. She quietly exited through the door, and Yumi heard the lock click. The silence that ensued was palpable. Yumi slowly sat down on the edge of Ulrich's bed looking at him. Slowly his eyes rose to meet hers.

"I'm in trouble aren't I?" he said to her. When she didn't say anything he grimaced. She was never this quiet. Yumi's eyes dropped from his and her shoulder began shaking with tears she'd been holding in. He started in surprise when she flung her arms around his neck. She felt Ulrichs arms wrap protectively around her, and she buried her face into his neck.

"Yumi?" he said, unsure. She held him tighter.

"Why do you always have to be stubbern?" she said in frustration. "Why can't you just listen to me and stop taking stupid risks like today?" He pulled away to cradle her head in his hands, and a sob was torn from her as she looked him in the eyes. He leaned his forhead against hers closing his eyes along with hers.

"I'm sorry." he said as her shoulders shook uncontrolably. "I'm sorry Yumi. I'm sorry." He continued mumbling quiet words to her, calming her sobbs. This continued until Yumi's sobbs had quieted, and her shoulders stilled. Ulrich drew away finaly, and his thumb stretched to wipe her tear stained cheeks. He cuped her chin, giving her a meaningful look.

"Hey now, Yumi. Don't cry. I'm fine." Yumi made a frustrated scowl as he said this.

"No you aren't." she almost shouted. "Your hurt." He shook his head.

"So what? I'm not crippled, or have any broken bones." he said. "Werewolves heal faster than humans, so I won't be here as long as Yolonda says I will. I'm all patched up and on the mend. I'm fine. Now take a deep breath."

Yumi paused before complying, breathing in deeply. Ulrich nodded. "Now breath out." She did, and her nerves steadied. Ulrich's hand slipped from her chin to her cheek. "There. Now calm down, and stop worrying. I'll be fine withing the week, and then there'll be no reason to worry." He kissed her cheek making her blush. "Now head back to class."

She started to protest, but he stopped her with a look. "Yumi you'll have to go back sometime." Then he smiled and said, "You can always come back once class is over." Reluctuntly Yumi stood and began making her way to the door. Half way there she stopped, and dashed back planting a kiss on his lips. Smiling wordlessly, she walked back to the door.

Ulrich smiled. 'Well, " he thought. 'At least she didn't say-'

"I told you so." she said before slipping out the door, shuting it. Ulrich sighed.

Jeremy's POV

Jeremy stepped up to the door of the single story house that Emily lived in. She was a day student like Yumi, so he'd left the school to meet her at her house. After a moment of indesision he raised his hand to knock on her door.

He heard a muffled yell from inside, and the sound of someone moving around. After a moment the door opened before him, and Emily stood there smiling.

"Hi." she said quietly. Jeremy blinked his eyes as he took in her apearance. She had forgoed her normal shirt and jeans in favour of a dark blue, tight fitting dress that hugged her body, and ended just above her knees. Her feet were clad in a bair of matching high heels. Her hair had been done up into blonde curls that framed her face nicely instead of her normally straight shoulder length hair. Her eyes had a touch of eyeliner, and she had a smidge of a blush to her cheeks. Bright red lipstick adorned her lips as she smiled.

As the silence stretched for several seconds he rushed to form a reply.

"Um- Hi." he stuttered out. "Ready?" She nodded closing the door behind her and following him as they began walking to the movie theater. "You look nice." he said quietly. She blushed looking down at herself.

"You think so?" she asked. He nodded.

"Yeah. The hair suits you well." She smiled at him.

"Thank you. It was just something I wanted to try out." she said. He nodded. He was slowly starting to relax.

"Well, it looks good. You should do it like that more often." She smiled.

"I'll keep it in mind." she said linking her arm in his.

Later

The night moved quickly after that. Maybe a little to quickly for their taste. Emily seemed to enjoy herself. She didn't seem that interested in the movie, and niether was he. They had kept up a whispered conversation in the theater until they had been told off by the others in the theater. They left the theater before the barely twenty minutes in. Honestly they didn't care. Emily seemed to come out of her shyness as well as him, and they both just went from place to place talking, laughing, and generally having a good time.

However they couldn't stay out forever, and Jeremy reluctantly began leading Emily home with her holding onto his arm as they walked. Eventually they reached her house, and Emily reluctantly let go of his arm as they reached the door step. She grasped the handle before turning back as if expecting something. Suddenly his nervousness caught up to him, and he found himself unable to do what he really wanted to.

Giving a 'goodnight' he slowly turned away and began walking down the front steps. Emily's dissapointed sigh reached his ears, and he stopped halfway. For a split second he stood there pondering what to do, then turning back he called out.

She turned back to him, and before she could say anything his hand cuped her chin and quickly before his courage left him he placed his lips against hers. After a moment she sighed into the kiss, and her hands grasped his shirt. Seconds they broke apart, his face flushed, and hers holding a wispful look with her eyes closed. He smiled at her.

"Goodnight." he said. She smiled back.

"Goodnight." was her only reply. He let her go and her hand groped for the door handle, pushing the door open. She was halfway in when she turned back and said, "I'd like to do this again sometime." He smiled.

"Me too." Then the door quietly shut, and he found himself taking a deep breath to steady his nerves. He certainly wanted to to this again. Another deep breath later and he was making his way back to Kadic.

Emily's POV

As the door clicked shut Emily turned her back to it, leaning heavily against it for support. Her eyes closed and a loud sigh escaped her lips as her hand touched her lips where he'd kissed her.

When she opened her eyes she found her father in front of her. He raised an eyebrow.

"How'd it go?" he said. She gave a cute smile.

"Lovely." she said. He rolled his eyes.

"Do I even want to know who he was?" he asked. Emily remembered that she hadn't told him who she was going out with that night. She nodded.

"It was Jeremy." she said. Her fathers eyes widened slightly.

"Belpois?" She nodded. He took on a thoughful expression before mumbling. "I guess it's a good thing. At least someone as nervous as him won't break your heart so easily." And with that he walked away. Emily rolled her eyes.

Well guys, how was the chapter? I plan on making a few more chapters here and there about Jeremy and Emily, but I'm not sure if I'll keep them together all the way to the end. Put a review about your opinion on the matter. Shall I keep them together? Review please!
