A/N: okay I don't know how to grovel any more than what I am doing right now...I'm sorry this update took so long! I've been without a computer and finally I begrudgingly typed this out on my new tablet. Which sucks because I can't type as fast.
So, this is a filler chapter for what's to come. I have plans for conversations Draco will be having with his mom. We all know Narcissa loves her boy and I'm no making them terrible people because I love the Malfoys *sticks tongue out*
Anyways, here we go, hope you like it and I promise to update as soon as I can and won't let it go for 2 years. ...
Much love,
Chellywood

Eggs and Steak, Steak and Eggs
By the time that Draco and Astoria arrived at Blaise's place it was nearly one o'clock.
"Seriously? It took you hours to get here?" Daphne exclaimed as she began setting the table for a late lunch. "I'm not even mad," she laughed "I'm impressed. I think you made a record score and that's saying something. Blaise does this thing-"
"Whoa, let's just all finish getting the table ready, I'm famished." Astoria interrupted. She did NOT want to know what Blaise could do and with what. 'Ugh.'She thought. 'Wait, I wonder if it's the same thing that Draco does…Wait what? No. Nope. NOPE. BIG NOPE! I don't even know why I thought of that ...bleh.' Astoria physically shuddered and Draco smirked having noticed.
"Don't think on it too hard on it luv, you'll leave permanent scars on your mind's eye." He chuckled lightly.
Blaise watched them from the stove. What made him lift a brow was more the sound of Draco's chuckle that he hadn't heard in a long time. He turned back to the stove half smiling. He knew that his mate would come out of whatever depression he was going through eventually. However, he didn't think all it was going to take was the littlest Greengrass to get him out of it.
Draco walked into the kitchen and grabbed the full plate of bacon, "All done?" he asked.
"Yep." Blaise smiled. He turned to Draco and suddenly a thought crossed his mind. "Wait. Before you bring that into the dining room I need to ask you something." Raising a brow at Blaise's serious tone he put the plate down, crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the counter.
Blaise frowned, not knowing how to broach the subject. He sighed heavily and ran his hand through his short hair. "Well?" Draco smirked.
He looked into the dining room making sure the girls were out of hearing range and began in a lowered lowered voice. "Look, I know you and Astoria have started this whirlwind romance, I'm really happy, I mean really mate, truly happy for you. It's good to hear you laugh again but-"
"You wish I had picked you?" Draco laughed.
"Draco. I'm being serious here." Blaise turned fully to look at Draco. "Just...just don't hurt her okay? And try not to go head first into something when you need to sort your own head. Know what I'm saying?"
Draco's smile dropped.
"I'm not discussing this here." Draco's tone turned serious. Without another word he grabbed the plate of bacon and made his way to the dining room.
Blaise sighed and turned his attention back to the food left to cook.
"Aaand here's the bacon ladies." He said as he walked to the table.
"Amazing! I'm famished!" Astoria shoved two big pieces in her mouth. When she heard Draco snort with laughter she looked towards him and smiled as best she could with her full mouth.
"Charming, truly charming. You're a keeper." He laughed.
Daphne smiled at their interactions and headed back to the kitchen. She noticed Blaise had a frown on. She approached him and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "Sickle for your thoughts, luv?" She mumbled into his shoulder.
He half turned to her, " No Daph, just worried for those two out there..." He sighed heavily and slightly shook his head. Daphne hid her smile in his shoulder. She always did find his big heart one of the most attractive parts of Blaise's personality.
"Blaise, let it go for now. I think no matter what happens between those two, will happen. Regardless of their pasts, their demons or whatever bullshit has transpired. If this is a whirlwind romance than it is, if it isn't and becomes something more than we can have our little nieces and nephews over to play with our babies. Let's face it we'll have the cuter ones."
Blaise laughed wholeheartedly, throwing his head back. He turned and surprised Daphne by turning around and catching her waist to bring her in for a passionate kiss. "I can't wait to hear little Blaise Junior's feet running around this house."
Daphne couldn't hold in her very unlady-like guffaw. Blaise quirked a brow.
"Blaise Junior?" She laughed even louder shaking her head. "Better finish up breakfast there Mr. Zabini." She pulled out of his embrace still laughing. He didn't understand why she found the name so funny. What was wrong with Blaise Junior?
Blaise plated the food and with an easy flick of his wand had all the cleaning finished and with another wand motion, had the plates following him to the dining room. Unfortunately, he found out what Daph had found so funny.
Laughter was all he heard coming into the dining room.
"Could you imagine? BJ Zabini!" Daphne laughed.
"Sounds like you'll be setting your future kid up with a backup job just in case he fails his NEWTS or doesn't want to get a Wizarding career, Blaise." Astoria couldn't hide the eerie Draco-esque smirk.
Upon seeing Blaise, Draco spit his orange juice out all over Astoria which renewed Daphne's guffaws.
Blaise had by this point had the food set down, luckily it had been spared the orange juice bath.
"I think I'm lost, here." He said as he sat down.
"...Blaise Junior...BJ...you're basically setting your kid up for a porn career, brother. " Astoria smiled as she took a bite of toast. "I mean, they make tons of money, especially with catchy names like BJ."
"...'Porn'? What in Merlin's name is Porn?" Blaise asked.
Draco chuckled. "It is a form of Muggle erotica. You've watched Muggle films, yeah? Well it is like that but a film of Muggles shagging. " Now it was Blaise's turn to spit out his drink.
"And they make money off of that? Daph, we've been in the wrong business! " He exclaimed. "Muggles, they always surprise me. And I hadn't thought of nicknames until you sickos, " he looked pointedly at his three companions, "mentioned it."
They all laughed.
"In all seriousness though, are you two really wanting kids? " Astoria asked. After all she was curious. She remembered, when her and her sister were young and Daphne always said she didn't want to bring children into the world while there was such darkness.
Daphne and Blaise looked at each other with nothing but love and stars. They both smiled and nodded.
They continued eating in silence for a few minutes.
Draco was happy for his best mate. He deserved happiness, as did Daphne. He knew they'd be great parents. "Hell, they picked me up and cleaned me up enough times, they've had practice."
"I think you'd make lovely parents, for what it's worth." Draco said pulling the two love birds out of their trance. "Just don't start while we're here or I'll lose my breakfast- OK HEY!" Draco rubbed his shoulder where Daphne hit it.
"I saw you in your birthday suit with my sister! Talk about losing my breakfast. " she smiled.
"You know you loved it-HEY! " Blaise had reached around and smacked his head.
"Abuse! Are you going to let them beat on me?" Draco asked Astoria, rubbing his head.
"I don't know, I find it rather amusing. Got any more eggs? " She smirked.
Breakfast continued on with more chatter and laughs between mouthfuls until everyone was quite stuffed.
Blaise and Daph got up and cleared the empty dishes, refusing Draco and Astoria's offer to clean up since Once they were alone Draco put his hand on Astoria's thigh, and leaned in close. "I will get you back later for that you minx."
She closed her eyes as his breath ghosted over her ear. She put her hand on Draco's and squeezed it. "Bring it on Malfoy. " she smiled. Draco raised his brows and could feel his trousers get uncomfortably tight as he saw her lust filled eyes. They broke eye contact as Daphne came back in the room.
"Any plans for the day? Astoria, did you close the shop for the day?"
"I did! Aren't you proud of me? Who says I'm a workaholic?"
"And you Draco?" Daphne asked.
He shifted uncomfortably. "I uh- I should get back to the manor. Discuss some business things with my mother."
Astoria eyed him for his sudden change in demeanor.
"Which reminds me, I should be going now anyways, thanks for breakfast." He stood, bending down to kiss Daphne on the cheek and nodding to Blaise who was still in the kitchen.
Astoria got up as well and followed him to the floo. Draco turned to her, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Look Astoria, I'm rubbish at.." he gestured between them, "..this. I don't know what last night was, I didn't want to burden you, I can't thank you enough...i-"
Astoria silenced him by placing a finger to his mouth. "Don't dig yourself a hole you can't get out of, Draco. " she smiled fondly at him. "I'll be the one to say this. Clearly I'm going to need the bigger balls here." She took a deep breath. "I like you. I'm interested. I want to see where this goes. But..."
Draco tilted his head, "But?" He asked quietly.
"But, you need to do some self work. You're an amazing man Draco. However you need to believe that too. You need to believe you are truly good. That you can do incredible things and deserve happiness. Do something for yourself." She took his hands in hers, "I don't want to see you continue to destroy yourself. I especially don't want you smelling like fire whiskey. " she said wrinkling her nose in disgust. "Do it for yourself Draco. Not just for me or for other people. Be a happier person for you. And if you still want me once you've found yourself, well, you'll know where to find me."
Before he could say anything to her, she leaned in and using the tips of her toes to reach him, kissed him softly on the lips and walked back towards the dining room.
Draco briefly lifted a hand to his lips, ran the other through his hair and over his face. He took a deep breath, readying himself for his conversation he knew he'd be having with his mother. Taking a handful of floo powder he steeled himself and said "Malfoy Manor".
