Chapter Fourteen. Writing's in the Store Cellar

Brock has taken Ash, Kento, Cye, Amaya and Josephine to a flashback where a member of the Knights of Sumeria had shown up to Brock in the past looking for Ash.

"Ash's real name is Ashley Joanna Williams?!" Kento exclaimed, "Man, you think you know everything!"

"Thanks for that name by the way!" Ash told Brock.

"It gave you thick skin." Brock quipped.

"Yeah," Ash retorted, "Thick from all the playground beatings."

"What you crying about?" Brock replied, "It did you good. Look at you now."

"Valid point." Cye replied.

"Yeah," Ash sighed, "I guess."

Then the group observed as the Knight of Sumeria was trying to find Ash, informing him that Ash was in grave danger in the lost pages, the evil book, only for Brock trying to brush him off leading to a brief tussle and the Knight of Sumeria being locked up in the cellar that Ash didn't know that he had.

"That was your big secret?!" Ash exclaimed, "That guy was my only hope to put an end to this nightmare, Pop and you killed him! Why is that good?!"

"That was what I was wondering myself." Josephine added.

"I wanted you to see that I was trying to look after you son," Brock replied, "Even when you thought I wasn't. Damnit, you were supposed to been warm and mushy."

"Things aren't what they are supposed to be dude," Kento quipped, "That's life for you, as you have said, serving up the shit sandwich."

"Kento!" Amaya exclaimed.

"So the dead guy and the missing pages are still down there?" Ash asked, "Okay. Wow. Get me out of this memory."

"Me too!" Amaya exclaimed.

"And me." Josephine added.

"Same here." Cye

"Ditto." Kento

The time turned back into the present day and the group was still at the warehouse. Ash used a crowbar to pry the hammered cellar door open.

"Where the hell is he?" Ash asked.

"I have no idea." Cye answered.

"Don't look at me." Brock added.

"Time to clean up another mess!" Ash declared before gearing up, and getting his chainsaw hand in gear.

"What's the deal?" Kento asked.

"Scared are we?" Brock added.

"I've had experiences with dead bodies in cellars before." Ash answered to the group.

"Well, let's do this." Cye told the group. Ash, Cye, Amaya, Kento and Josephine proceeded down the steps as they went inside the cellar as they noticed Brock was not in sight.

"Dad, you coming?!" Ash asked. From out of nowhere, Brock appeared.

"Don't do that!"

The group ventured further into the cellar as one of the lights turned on by themselves. They eventually found a skeletal corpse of that Knight of Sumeria.

"Oh my!" Cye exclaimed. Amaya clasped her mouth in shock.

"Hello." Ash quipped, "God forbid the furnace guy shows up."

"That bastard ate my spam!" Brock exclaimed pointing at the empty cans of Spam near the corpse, "That was my Civil Defense stash!"

"He ate it because he was locked in the cellar trying to survive!" Ash replied.

"So what did you think would happen?" Kento asked.

"Enough being a smart aleck already." Cye quipped.

The group looked to see mysterious writings that were on the walls of the cellar after Ash turned on the lights to the cellar.

"What is that?" Cye asked.

"It looks like ancient writing of some sort." Amaya answered.

"Good luck washing that off." Brock said.

"Good ol Necronomicon." Ash said, "Same type of writing."

The group looked to see the missing pages of the book laying nearby.

"Whoa!" Kento exclaimed, "That's something you don't see everyday! Unless you're us."

"They're those lost pages alright." said Josephine.

Ash picked up one of the pages and looked at them, "Maybe this guy was trying to piece something together. Something he found in those pages. Pablo has this weird writing all over him. Maybe he can decyfer it."

"Oh no!" a voice cried out from the walls.

"What is going on?" Kento asked.

Ash, Cye, Kento, Amaya and Josephine looked at the center of the wall which had turned green.

"What do you see?" Brock asked.

"Something from the Twilight Zone!" Josephine exclaimed.

The group looked to see a terrified Rachel screaming which caused Ash to take a step back.

"Whoa!" Ash exclaimed, taking a step back.

"Help!" Rachel screamed.

"That little hottie looks familiar." Ash said.

"It's coming for me!" Rachel cried, "Oh no!"

"Is that Harley Quinn?" Kento asked.

"Huh?" Amaya quipped.

"From the Suicide Squad movie!" Kento exclaimed.

"That's Brandy's musician friend from school." Ash told the group, "What the hell is happening here?"

Rachel screamed as something appared to be dragging her away.

A vine coming from the wall grabbed Ash by the arm and pinned him to the wall.

"Ash!" Kento exclaimed.

"This cellar does not like us!" Josephine quipped.

"Apparently not." Cye replied.

"As to be expected." Amaya said.

The vines trapped Ash's arms and legs, preventing him from escaping.

"Destroy the Prophesied One!" an evil voice boomed, "It is time to bring the universe into total darkness!"

"Not on your life evil creep!" Kento shouted, preparing to launch an attack, "Iron Rock..."

"Iron Stone Kine..."

"Kento! Jo! Stop!" Cye shouted, "If you attack this vine, you might hit Ash as well!"

"Besides we don't want any property damage here!" Ash shouted. Suddenly, he used a nearby nail to turn on his chainsaw and break free from the vines that were trapping him before landing on the ground.

"He's okay." Cye said.

"For now!" Kento exclaimed.

"Whoa, that looked like it hurt." Brock said as Ash was getting up to his feet.

"Did I mention I hate cellars?" Ash asked.

"Not really. No." Kento answered.

"This is just great," Ash continued, "Evil is harassing my daughter and out to have me dead to bring the universe as we know into complete darkness. Not to mention my father's a ghost, I have armored heroes protecting me, not that it's a flaw but I also got this crazy shit in my cellar!"

"Time to man up, son." Brock said.

"You got that right," Ash replied, "I'm gonna track down this so called Miss Prevett and finish this Ruby once and for all."

"That goes for us too!" Kento exclaimed.

"I used to go bowling with a cutie by that name." Brock looked around at the group, "She had that place down in Old Mill Road."

"You know Ruby's using Prevett's name." Ash told Brock, "Maybe she's camping out there."

"Good theory." Cye replied, "That's probably where James is at right now."

Then, Brock turned into his ghost form once again.

"Uh oh," Brock said as he began to disappear, "I think my time is up. You make sure you tell Brandy all about me. The good stuff though."

"I will Pop."

"Son, you're gonna be a great father."

"You really mean that?"

"No."

Then Brock Williams had vanished. Ash then looked at Cye, Amaya, Kento and Josephine.

"What now?" Cye asked.

"It's time we go to meet up with James and take down this Ruby once and for all!" Ash declared.

"You got that right!" Kento exclaimed.

Back at James's house, Ryo, Sage, Rekino, Hana and Rowen were with Kelly, Brandy, Mia, Twyla and Linda as they were looking after Pablo.

"Brandy," Linda looked at Ash's daughter, "Twyla told me about the evil killing your mother and your friend Rachel. I'm very sorry."

"Thanks." Brandy replied.

"I lost my husband and daughter to the evil as well." Linda said, "I know how it feels."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"Thanks."

Rekino? Can you hear me?

Josephine? What's going on?

James is at Ruby's hideout at Old Mill Road. We're heading to that location right now. Can you guys meet us there?

Sure thing. We just finished saving Pablo from this evil that had a hold of him. We'll be on our way.

Good. I'll let Ash know.

Okay. See you guys then.

"Guys," Rekino spoke up, "Ash and the others are heading to Old Mill Road. That is Ruby's location. Kelly, are you guys able to handle yourselves?"

"Yeah." Kelly answered, "I would like to kick Ruby's ass for getting Pablo possessed right now!"

"I would advise against it," Twyla told Kelly, "I know you want to get back at the evil for killing your parents, but I have a feeling that Ruby will come to you guys eventually, so my advice is to wait till then. Afterwards, you can go and kick Ruby's ass!"

Beat.

"Fine." Kelly sighed, "I'll go with your plan, Twyla. Besides, Pablo needs me right now."

"We should get going." Ryo suggested.

"Ryo?" Mia approached her fiance, "Please be careful."

"I'll do my best." Ryo smiled before they shared a kiss. Then Ryo, Rekino, Rowen, Sage and Hana all left the house.

"Don't worry Mia," Twyla assured her half sister, "They will be fine."
