Sophia sat in her room alone. It was a week after the dance, and she had refused to talk to James at all. Since everyone else was out and about, Sophia had snuck into James and Eddie's room and borrowed James' guitar. Now here she was, sitting on her bed, plucking away at random chords. There was a talent show coming up, Chloe's idea, and up until now, she had thought about asking James to borrow his guitar or play a song with her and she would sing. But now she wanted nothing to do with him. She continued to pluck a few chords before she realized that some of them sounded really good together. Playing them over again, Sophia decided to try something... different, from her normal character.

"We always used to talk real late after midnight," she sang, strumming the chords. "But now the only thing we do on the phone is fight. Is there a way to make this go away? I don't think that we're gonna be okay... You were my hero and I was your sidekick, now you're gonna be the tear that I cry when we split." Thinking, Sophia continued. "Baby I dont think that I can do this. It seems so wrong makin up with only one kiss. Dont think that I could ever be able to stay with you now baby. Cause in time I know that we'll both see, we're not meant to be. Cause you're the one who makes me cry, you would never ever save me... All your words are full of lies, you're not the one I wanna marry. Cause baby cant you see? We're just a fantasy. There's nothing we can do, we're not the perfect two. We're not the perfect two, we're not the perfect two. Baby me and you, we're not the perfect two..."

Sophia got a pen and paper to jot down the lyrics she had come up with before continuing. "I thought you were my prince, and I was your princess. Now that we're here all of that is meaningless. I think I was a fool for letting you fill the spaces between my hands and my diary pages. You used to be the one who made me happy, you used to tell me you were lucky to have me. Now you're as cold as the winter weather, but I don't care cause we're no longer together." She jotted down those ones as well before repeating the bridge and chorus.

"Dont think that I could ever be able to stay with you now baby. Baby me and you, we're not the perfect two... Oohh.. You know that I'll never love you, like the way I ever used to. But you know I will remember you. Now that I'm gone, I smile. It took me quite a while, to see we wont walk the aisle. Cause you're the one who makes me cry, you would never ever save me... All your words are full of lies, you're not the one I wanna marry. Cause baby cant you see? We're just a fantasy. There's nothing we can do, we're not the perfect two. We're not the perfect two, we're not the perfect two. Baby me and you, we're not the perfect two."

"That was pretty good," a male voice spoke from behind her. Sophia jumped practically a foot in the air, whipping around to see who it was. It was Ben.

"You scared the hell out of me!" she told him, throwing a pillow at him.

"Because you thought I was James?"

"No.."

"Yes.." Sophia sighed. "Was that about him?"

"No," she lied. "Maybe? I don't know. Yes, I guess, but I would never show him. It's just my way of getting out my feelings." Ben sat beside the girl on her bed.

"Well maybe he should hear it, so he knows how you feel." Sophia was unsure.

"I just really thought he liked me," she confessed.

"Maybe he does. Guys are stupid like that. They don't think about things like that. If he does like you, like that, he probably doesn't think anything of it, since you guys are already friends. If he didn't know you, and he liked you, he would be all over getting to know you."

"He knows me pretty well, I guess, but I'm starting to think I hardly know him. What are you doing here, anyway?" she finally asked.

"Well, I was here to annoy my cousin, but he's not around. Plus, I wanted to see you." Sophia smiled.

"You always do seem to pop in at the perfect time." Ben smiled, laughing.

"Consider it my job. Come on, no more sulking inside for you. I'm taking you, to spend a day Isis style. That is, if you can handle it." Ben stood up, offering her his hand.

"Oh, I think I'll manage," she said, a bit flirtatiously, taking his hand and standing up.

"Great. I think you'll fit right in." He winked at her, which made her laugh, and the two set out. After they had left, Chloe had returned to her room, and was combing out her long blonde hair when a knock came from the front door. Since not many people were back yet, and Trudy being busy in the kitchen, Chloe hollered that she would answer it. Running downstairs, the girl smoothed out the bottom of her dress, reaching for the handle. Pulling it open, she let out a piercing scream, slamming the door closed.

"What is it? What's wrong?" Trudy panicked, rushing into the room. Chloe knew she had to think of something quick.

"Uh... Nothing. I uh.. saw a bug. Yes, that's it."

"Who was at the door?" she asked, also reaching for the handle.

"No don't!" Chloe cried. "It was no one, they're gone." Trudy, not buying it, opened the door and saw a rather handsome young man standing behind it, about the same age as the Anubis students.

"Oh, hello, dear. What can I do for you?" He smiled at Trudy, his hands stuffed a bit nervously in his pockets and his bangs covering his eyes ever so slightly. He flicked his hair out of the way so he could properly see her, and replied.

"Actually Ms, I'm here to see Chloe. I'm from Isis house." Trudy looked back over at Chloe, who was now trying to escape.

"Chloe, don't be shy, now, love. Come back here. It's for you."

"Thank you Trudy, but that's precisely why I didn't answer it..." she mumbled.

"Now don't be rude! I'll leave you two alone to talk. There's a fine meal to make with my name on it." Trudy laughed, returning to the kitchen. The boy smiled once again at Trudy before stepping inside Anubis.

"It's certainly a nice house," he said, looking around.

"Why are you here?" Chloe barked. "And why am I just seeing you now, if you're from Isis house? Where have you been? You're supposed to be back in-"

"I've been at Isis, alright? I've been going to classes online for the most part because I have to get caught up with material. I also didn't start on the first day. So that's another reason. You act like the sight of me repulses you," he stated.

"That's because it does. You can get out, alright?"

"Can't we just talk, at least? That's all I'm asking." Crossing her arms over her chest, Chloe scowled at the boy.

"Fine," she said through gritted teeth. Upstairs, some of the other students heard the commotion and wanted to know what was going on.

"Whoa, who's that?" Alfina asked Lily, who was spying with her.

"I don't know, but he's really cute..."

"Oh my gosh... Do you think she has a boyfriend?" The girls excitedly squealed with happiness. Eddie, who happened to be walking by, munching on an apple, heard the girls and joined them.

"What are you guys talking about?" he asked, taking a bite of his apple.

"Chloe's new boyfriend," Lily explained. Eddie spit out his apple in shock.

"What? Chloe doesn't have a boyfriend."

"Then who's he?" Alfina asked, pointing to the pretty blonde sitting beside her on the couch. "They are sitting pretty close, and I'm pretty sure I saw him grab her hand before you came over." Eddie leaned through the staircase to get a better look.

"No, no way. I don't know who he is, but he can't be Chloe's boyfriend. Impossible." Lily watched Eddie's face and smirked.

"I think someone's jealous," she thought aloud.

"What? I am not jealous! There's nothing to be jealous of! They're not a couple! And besides, he's too pretty for her. She would never go for someone like him. I'll prove it to you, later," he confirmed. Annoyed, he fled downstairs to his room, slipping by without Chloe noticing. Once in his room, he angrily slammed the door closed. James, being James, looked up and saw concern on his best friend's face.

"What's up?" James asked him.

"There's some stupid guy talking to Chloe out in the living room and Lily and Alfina seem to think it's a sort of marriage proposal. They're convinced that he's her boyfriend, but I still don't buy it."

"Someone sounds jealous, to me," James told him.

"I'm not jealous!" Eddie sighed, taking a deep breath. "Ok.. maybe I am a little jealous. So what?" James couldn't help but laugh a little.

"So, ask her out, then! If you don't want her dating anyone else, make her feel like she doesn't want to be with anyone else, and show her that you wanna be with her."

"It's not that simple," Eddie sighed. "I told you, I think she's the chosen one."

"So?" James asked.

"So, what if we date, and we break up? I'm the next Osirian. I have to protect her, if she is the chosen one, at any given moment. What if we date and break up, and then we're not going to want to be near each other? What if we get into a huge fight, and we never speak again? What if-"

"You two date, fall madly in love and realize you're perfect for each other, and then live a happy life as the Osirian and Chosen one couple," James finished.

"But what if the Chosen one and the Osirian aren't meant to be together in that way?"

"But what if they are? I say go for it. You obviously won't be able to stand it if Chloe gets a different boyfriend. What if she's already dating that boy out there?"

"She is not!" he barked. "Sorry... I guess you're right. That was some good advice, James. I think I'm gonna follow it." Eddie gave him a pat on the back and a smile. "But if I were you, dude, I'd start taking it yourself." Eddie turned and left the room. James sighed, knowing Eddie was right. He left after Eddie, running upstairs past the girls who were still spying on Chloe and the mysterious boy with her, and went straight to Sophia's room.

"Sophia, I... Oh, Scarlett. Sorry, I was looking for Sophia." Scarlett was sitting on her bed listening to music.

"Sophia isn't here. I don't even think she's in the house. She'll probably be back later, though." Annoyed, James ran a hand through his hair.

"Well when you see her, tell her I-" Just then, he noticed something he wasn't supposed to. "Hang on, is that my guitar?" he asked, grabbing it from behind Sophia's bed. "Why does she have my guitar?" Scarlett shrugged.

"No idea." James looked at it, and pondered.

"When you see Sophia," he continued, "tell her I really need to talk to her." Scarlett promised that she would. Meanwhile, downstairs, Chloe was growing more frustrated, and annoyed.

"You still haven't told me why you're here." The boy looked at her.

"My dad sent me. I don't know why, he just decided to. He said it wasn't optional, and that it was what was best."

"Yeah, well I don't need you here, nor do I want you here."

"What happened, Chloe? We used to be so close." Chloe was flaming, now.

"What happened was that I found out the truth!" Alfina and Lily couldn't see their facial expressions half the time, or hear them really, since they were whispering. "You can leave, now. I'm done talking to you." Just then, as Chloe stood up, Alfina and Lily ran downstairs with huge smiles on their faces.

"Chloe, who's your friend?" they asked, a bit flirtatiously.

"No one." She answered, short and sharp.

"I'd beg to differ," he interrupted.

"My cousin. He's my cousin," Chloe covered.

"Actually, I'm her..." His words were cut off by Chloe jabbing him in the ribcage. "Ahhh... I mean... I'm her cousin, who is more than capable of introducing himself. Hi, my name's Mitchell." Alfina and Lily exchanged a look, before looking back at Mitchell.

"So, you guys aren't a couple?" Chloe looked repulsed.

"Ew, no!" Mitchell rolled his eyes.

"As much joy as she brings me, no, we're definitely not a couple," he confirmed. The girls looked sad only for a moment, realizing Eddie had been right.

"Well, I'm Lily, and this is Alfina," Lily explained. "Welcome to Anubis."

"Thanks," Mitchell smiled. "I stay in Isis, in case you girls were wondering. Anyways, I should get going. We're having a house party tonight, and I'm in charge of helping set up. I think one of your kind are going to be there too. Sophia, was it? Bye, ladies," he spoke, leaving Anubis.

"If you'll excuse me, I have to go wash up before dinner, Chloe expressed, rushing off. Lily wasn't sure she completely bought the whole cousin thing. She decided to leave it alone.

Down the hall, Oscar and Tree were having a conversation while passing a tennis ball back and forth. There was no meaning to the conversation, it was just whatever they felt like talking about. As of now, the topic was the talent show. "Do you suppose many people will no the talent show?" Tree asked.

"I dunno. I was thinking about entering, but I don't really have a talent. What about you? Are you going to give it a go?" Oscar asked, passing the tennis ball.

"I might. I might show off my martial arts skills," Tree confessed. Oscar seemed impressed.

"Whoa.. That'd be really cool! You totally should."

"Thanks. Okay, I will. Is anyone else doing it?" Oscar thought.

"I think Lily is, I know that Chloe's going to, and I knew that Sophia was going to, but ever since her fight with James, it's like I don't even know her anymore, and she's my sister." Tree frowned.

"I wish they would just make up. Their negative energy is bringing down the entire house! Alfina's gone round spraying the house with positive vibes." Oscar laughed slightly.

"I know what you mean. I can't even talk to her now. She'll only talk to Scarlett."

"And Ben," Tree added.

"Yeah, I'm not too sure how I feel about Ben. He seems chill, but I still don't know." Tree tossed Eddie the ball, almost dropping it.

"Well, at least he hasn't done anything sketchy. Plus, he walked her home from the dance."

"That's true. Say, do you suppose that if she and James were to make up, do you think they'd be a thing?" Tree thought about it.

"I mean, it depends. That would be up to James, probably. Sophia really likes him, we can tell, but we don't really know how James feels." Oscar nodded.

"Yeah, you're right. Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see."

"Yep, just wait and see."
