Karkat waits anxiously while Gamzee sits in front of him, obviously thinking about all that Karkat has told him.

"So, you've been sneaking into a sort of compound like place the past few days?"

Karkat nods, wondering where Gamzee was going with this.

"And you know he's in there, and that there are others being experimented on?"

Gamzee nods and looks thoughtful again, "Why the hell didn't you tell be before? I would've totally helped you out bro, plus I wanna meet the guy you've been obsessing over."

Karkat fights down a blush again, wondering if it was that obvious that he was nearly always thinking about Sollux. "Well I mean, I didn't think you'd believe me, I didn't even believe myself for the first few days."

"I mean I motherfuckin understand that, but still. Do you think we should tell someone about this? I mean if the experiments are possibly illegal..."

"No," Karkat replies quickly, then hurrying to explain when Gamzee gives him a confused look, "I mean, the people that have been experimented on would probably be taken away by government and stuff and I don't know what would happen to them but I'm sure it wouldn't be good."

His friend is silent for a few more moments before sighing and nodding, "I guess you're right Kar. When are you planning on seeing him again?"

Karkat suddenly remembers the note he'd found before Gamzee had got to his house, quickly pulling the piece of paper out of his pocket. On it, was his sketchy map, with a note written in one if the corners. The words were kind of hard to read because the handwriting was tilted and as sketchy as his drawing, but he made out the words nonetheless.

youre an idiot and im an idiot and im going to yell at you tonight
aka meet me at medium park so i can do that
ps i got aradia to deliver this if you were wondering

Gamzee raises his eyebrows as Karkat reads it to him, "You sure it's from Sollux?"

Karkat pauses, not having considered the thought. "I'm fairly sure but..." He notices that there isn't any sort of signature specifically saying it was from Sollux.

"So you're going to meet him."

"Yeah."

Gamzee grins, standing up, "Then I'm going with you."

Karkat stares at him before sputtering, "What? Why?"

"I'm not gonna let my best bro go alone to meet someone who, may or may, not be his crush!" Gamzee proclaims, ignoring Karkat's protests.

"Ugh, fine," Karkat eventually relents, "We can probably head out then because it's getting dark and shit."

"Is your mom going to care?" Gamzee asks as he slides his jacket back onto his shoulders.

"Probably, but I won't stay out too long," Karkat replies, grabbing his own jacket. It had gotten cold recently, Karkat was worried for Sollux who seemed to enjoy night flying.

Gamzee doesn't say anything to that, frowning slightly and opening the door, letting Karkat walk out first.

Surprisingly (to both Karkat and Gamzee), Keramin lets them go without much argument, only asking that Karkat be back before midnight. She gives Gamzee a look as well to returning to her book.

Not wasting the opportunity, Karkat bounds down the stairs and out the back door, Gamzee following close behind.

Karkat talks to Gamzee while his friend drives, telling him about how Sollux is actually pretty shy and if he wants to meet him, he's got to not scare him or anything. Gamzee just smiles at Karkats happy rantings.

The park is, naturally empty, at this hour. The hour being actually surprisingly early in consideration. Because of it being later in the year however, it was nearly completely dark despite being a bit past eight.

Karkat can see his breath in front of him, forming in steamy clouds, as he walks over to the playground. Gamzee follows him, glancing around curiously, as he follows Karkat's gaze to the treeline.

Neither of them really talk as they listen to the silence of a sleeping town and the sound of their own breathing. Karkat starts wishing he had brought gloves as he feels his hands grow cold, even while in his jacket pockets. Gamzee doesn't seem as bothered by the cold, but he does seem to grow more apprehensive as the minutes tick by.

Before Karkat was about to say something, he hears an almost familiar flutter of feathers and sees a figure standing in the shadows of the forest. With a small smile he pushes away from the slide he'd been leaning against and advances towards the treeline. He knows Gamzee will follow closely behind.

However as he gets closer to Sollux, a cold sliver of dread runs through his body as he can now make out other figures nearby Sollux. There's a gag wrapped around the winged teens mouth, and his wings are bound tightly to his back in a painful looking manner.

Karkat turns to Gamzee, about to shout a warning before he feels a spark of pain echo through his body, making him crumple to the ground with a hiss. He can hear Gamzee begin to yell for him before the older teen stops mid sentence.

"Hm. Think the both of them are useful?"

Karkat can't move, his breath coming in pained gasps as he feels someone walk close to him.

"I believe so, who gets who?"

"I'm sure Captor would love to have another subject, and Peixes would probably be fine with another as well."

"Good job Sollux, drawing another few Subjects out of the woodworks."

If Karkat could feel anything, he's sure he'd be crying right now because had Sollux really met up with him to give him to the scientists?

Muffled yells from the teen makes Karkat doubt that thought though, why would Sollux do something like that?

"No you fuckers, I never wanted him to be drawn into this," Sollux snarls, apparently having worked his way out of the gag.

"Be quiet and do as you're told," Someone barks back, the sound of Sollux being slapped ringing through the air.

"Fucking monsters," Sollux hisses, and Karkat really wanted to cry now because that meant Sollux hadn't tried to betray him.

"I said be quiet!"

Sollux falls quiet, and Karkat wished he could move his head to see what was going on, or see anything really. Darkness had encroached his vision and he doesn't know what's happening and that makes him start to panic as his hearing fades out as well. Everything fades out really.

He can't feel anymore.

AN: Next few chapters will be out soon, I have them typed I just need to go over and edit them. This story may just turn out longer than I originally planned. (I originally had it end here but then I started to get more ideas so...)

Either way, I hope you enjoy this chapter, until the next upload!
