Chapter 14 coming your way! Last chapter Jake escaped from Princess Bubblegum's Cube of Death, and Finn was put into a more then awkward situation. As always I hope you enjoy…

Jake busted out of the double doors in the front of the Candy Kingdom Castle. He ran down the stairs two steps at a time, before diving and morphing into a bigger version of himself. Although it didn't give him an initial advantage, each step now took him the distance of ten in his normal body. Not to mention the ability to just plow through any think the kingdom may throw at him, but surprisingly nothing came. Every candy person basically minded there own business, the ones who were cleaning continued to clean. The ones who were selling continued to sell and barter goods. Most payed little to know attention to the gigantic dog running through the streets. He soon began slow until he was walking there the market district of the kingdom. Every so often a candy citizen would even smile and wave at him. It was like breaking out of a prison that no one knew you where in, no one even batted an eye. He shrunk down to normal size and walked to the main entrance of the kingdom. The guard opened the Jake with a smile on his face and Jake walked right out of the kingdom.

After Jake was out of sight of any of the gum ball guardians he began running again. He knew from the years of bike stealing that running is one of the number one signs of having done something wrong. Jake ran to Marceline's cave in an attempt to find Finn. He knew Finn would not be there however, surly while princess bubblegum was on search for him that was the first place they checked. As Jake entered the cave after the short jog to the entrance he saw nothin but the rubble caused by the angry mob a few days ago. He quickly ran to it and began throwing beams and piles of as, left and right attempting to uncover any unfortunate victims. Thankfully however he found none, although that gave no clue the the current were abouts of his brother.

Jake immediately ran away, towards his own house. He ran in through the door, which was never locked and stretched up the ladder to the kitchen. There he saw BMO talking to a mirror, attempting to teach the one he refers to a "football" how to cook. He was getting extremely irritated at "football" because he continued to crack the eggs with three hits to the pan instead of two. BMO quickly spun around becoming startled by Jake's presents and dropped in egg, which shattered once it hit the ground. "Jake!" BMO said, "what are you doing here?" He asked in his little cute robotic voice. Jake was panting from from running all over Ooo, when he caught his breath he said "princess bubblegum has gone crazy!" "Oh" BMO said, "I know" he then turned around and continued cracking the eggs into the pan.

"What?" Jake said with a look of confusion upon his face, "you knew and you didn't come help me?!" BMO turned back again and looked at Jake, "my math showed that you would be killed before I arrived to help, that and that my efforts would not of aided you but simply delayed the inevitable". Jake looked at him I'm silence, "the chances of you getting out was a million to one" BMO once again returned to the stove and continued cracking eggs. the pan was like a mountain of eggs, and there where scattered egg cartons all over the room, all empty. Jake looked off the side and put his hand up to his chin, "mom always did say I was one in a million", "she was saying that there is seven thousand people just like you then..." BMO timed in but without turning around. "Oh..." Jake said looking at the ground, "it doesn't sounds that special when you say it like that".

Jake shook himself out of whatever trance he was in about his mother, "b-but do you know where Finn is!?" He suddenly bleared at the tiny robot, BMO once again without looking at Jake and without making any sort of movement other then that tending to his eggs said, "over there" Jake stared at him, "what do you mean over there? Over there could literally be anywhere, where's over there?" He asked with a sense of urgency, unlike the tone he had for the beginning of the conversation. "My info tells me that he could be west, south, or east" BMO concluded, "probably east, most likely not north". "what kind of info?" Jake asking hoping he would come to the same conclusion given the evidence. "I saw him go that way, Marceline too... He's probably still there... Maybe". "BMO?" Jake said puzzled by the robots response, "the only thing over there is the badlands". "Oh I'm sorry" BMO interrupted, "Is Jake robot?". Jake made a bitter face, "I just-" he was interrupted again by BMO repeating his question in the exact same tone he did last time, "is Jake robot?" Jake groaned at BMO, "I'll go check the badlands" as he almost stomped out of the room like a two year old child, who was denied a second cookie.

As soon as Jake left the house BMO tuned back to his mirror to consult Football. "BMO?" Football said, "who was that?" "That was Jake the dog, football" BMO informed him, "I am his owner, BMO concluded with a smug look upon his face."Oh BMO! That is fantastic" football complimented BMO. "I was I had a dog" Football said.

Jake looked up into the sky and shaded his eyes with a visor he formed out of his forehead. The suns hot raise continued to beat down on Jake as he entered the badlands. As soon as he step foot into the sand it's like the entire temperature of the world rose about thirty degrees. Within a few minutes of being inside the dessert know as the badlands Jake already began to pant and sweat from the heat. It was almost a mile from the entrance of the badlands to the first building Jake could begin searching, he felt like he had be walking for hours, but he wasn't even a quarter of the way. Whenever Jake was inside the Ice Kingdom he would continually complain about how cold and miserable he was, even having his fur coat. However now he felt like he would do anything just to have a little bit of the snow now.

Jakes lack of sleep was starting to affect him, ever so often he would space out, everything will be blurry, and before he knows he is far ahead of when he could last remember. When Jake was trapped inside the death cube he was deprived of water and food, ran for multiple miles, and now is walking through the dessert. He knew if he shrunk in size it would at least make him feel like he was a bit more hydrated. Yet he knew that it would only make the trip to the nearest building even longer, then mostly likely killing him. He was on a mission and didn't have time to die; he continued to tell himself he could die when it's over. Obviously he didn't want to die, but he found it reinsuring to an extent to tell himself that it wasn't time to die yet, it was time to find Finn.

When Jake finally entered a building he collapsed from the heat, when he finally awake he found himself in a small puddle. When he collapsed he fell upon the floor which then, in turn, broke from the years of rotting. He broke through it fell onto some boxes before rolling off to the ground. On the ground there was a puddle of water, almost black from the years of sitting inside the house, every known chemical being in it at least one point, if still not now. Jake leaned down and drank all of the water, if you could even still call it that, out of the small crevice in the ground that has held it for so long. Jake had no clue what was inside it, and frankly he didn't care, whatever it takes to survive… that seems to be the motto now a days in the lives of the two adventurers. Jake could barely keep it down, the water tasted worse than anything he has ever tasted in his entire life. Luckily for Jake in his weekend state, a staircase leads right up to the main level he had just fell from. He climbed it slow at first but quickly began to regain his agility. The water most likely didn't do anything but get his mouth a little wet, but he thought that it did something. I a way he tricked his body, and probably himself into thinking that the old disgusting water had actually had a positive effect on him. He bolted around the building but found no trace of Finn, or any living thing. All the windows where boarded up by previous residents, either to keep someone out, or keep someone in. The wall where covered in scratch marks made into the groups of tally marks. They covered the entire building, who knows what they were counting; days? Victims? Grains of sand? It was a mystery that probably wouldn't be solved… Probably.

Unannounced to Jake however it was the building that previously housed Kim, Finn and Marceline's newest residents. However he noticed noting they did, not the emptiness of the building or the fact that everything was crowed on the top floor, if it didn't involve finding Finn, Jake felt he didn't have time to bothered with it. Before he knew it after waking up he was stepping outside of the building. He was covered his face, expecting to be instantly blinded by the rays of the sun but instead was greeted by only the moon and a cold breeze. "How long have I been out?" Jake thought to himself out loud. He waited a second but not surprisingly was not greeted by any sort of answer. Jake surveyed the area around him and saw a cave off in the distance with and orange light shooting out of it and flickering on the ground outside of the cave. A shadow every so often would cross the light, showing that someone… or something was passing whatever caused the light.

Jake slowly approached the entrance to the cave, he could hear the sound of what seemed to be a woman talking as he got closer and closer to the opening. He stayed off to the side so that however was inside would not spot him approaching him. Jake was aware from with their journeys with the royal tarts how ruthless hobos could be in the badlands. Suddenly as he reached as far as he could go, the voice stopped. Jake stretched his eye down to his foot and stretched his foot around to corner to peer inside. He saw no sign of the woman who was talking, so he very slowly and very carefully stepped out from the side of the cave. He looked inside and saw the small campfire, the source of the light; he also noticed the small boat with a hole in it. After much consideration Jake finally decided to go inside the cave, he took one step in and then another and after a bit of awkward steps he was no more than five feet from the entrance.

Suddenly Marceline came in to visibility from right behind Jake, she grabbed he in a neck lock like stance but ultimately ended up throwing him to the ground. As he feel he twisted one hundred and eighty degrees and landed on his back looking up at the vampire queen. Marceline gave an evil look at Jake and hisses, showing off her sharp vampire fangs, she of course not recognizing Jake immediately. Jake screamed and shrunk his face, like he normally did when Marceline scared him, as his face got smaller the pitch of the scream got higher and higher. Marceline's face quickly turned to a smile as she excitedly shouted "Jake!" Jakes face grown to normal size in less than a second "Marceline!?" Marceline grabbed Jakes arm and pulled him to his feet and dusted him off a little.

Kim poked her head from behind the boat, "Jake!" she quickly jogged over to Marceline's side, "Kim!? You're here too?" Jake asked in surprise. "Glad someone remembered me" Kim said with a smile upon her face. "Wait but where's Finn?!" Jake asked sound extremely concerned. "Oh yeah" Marceline said "He's in the boat" timed in Kim. Jake quickly ran up the boat and peered into the hole where he saw Finn asleep in his bed with a large red mark on his face. Marceline and Kim where quick behind Jake, they didn't run but caught up to him none the less. "Why does he have that mark on his face?" Jake asked the two. Marceline and Kim looked at each other from behind Jake both blushed incredibly bright, "ugh" one muttered out. "we where attacked… but its ok… now… where all ok…" Marceline said, Jake quickly accepting it as the truth.

Suddenly Finn began to speak "I know Roselinen… but I have to get back…" he was talking completely in his sleep. Everyone stopped and stared at Finn for over a minute. Then out of now where Marceline says, in a loud voice, "Finn wake up you weirdo!" Finn suddenly bolted awake a sprung up to a sitting position breathing heavily, "Roselinen? Jay? Bonnie?" They all looked at Finn, then Jake said "what?" and Finn responded with a "what?" repeating Jakes question "what did you just say?" Jake asked, "I said 'what?'", "no you said-"Jake was cut off by Finn realizing who he was talking too, "JAKE!" Finn quickly grabbed Jake and pulled him onto the bed with him and began hugging him profusely.

The four then began discussing the events of the past couple days. Finn telling of Marcy's and his daring escape, finding of a new home, and ultimately the finding off Kim. Jake told of the things he went through while trapped inside princess bubble gums murder cube. He explained how he began to go through the five stages of mourning; Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. However he told about how he was unable to reach the even the third stage of it before he made his daring escape that he "totally planned". The subject that was the main focus however was how they would deal with the princess and if they even had the right too. Jake shared that Princess Bubblegum was planning to kill him tomorrow, so something would have to be done that day before she could find someone else to replace her replacement.

During this time Jake was able to drink water and rest giving him the same energy as he always had. That's when it came to their attention that they had no way of even getting to the princess. Jake came up with the plan that they would get clothing to hide their true identity, Jake and Kim left to find clothing for all of them, them being the only ones who could still set foot in a place that is inhabited with lots of people. Kim hopped on Jakes back as was hoisted into the air as Jake grew to a very large size in order to cut down the time it would take. Almost as soon as they left they were out of sight, already out of the badlands.

Finn looked down at his hands suddenly realizing that all the blood that was on him from carrying the boar to the cave that dripped all of the blood down onto him, staining his clothes and skin. "Ugh… Marceline?" Finn said completely confused, she turned and looked at Finn "yeah?" Finn looked up and down his body one more time, "how" he paused for a second, "how did I get so clean…" Marceline's face formed a smile, "well Kim and I gave you a bath", she said in a simple tone and she began to float away from Finn. Finn quickly got up and began following her, "what! You and Kim gave me a bath while I was asleep? That so… so… weird!" "Ha-ha! I'm just messing with you". Finn let out a sigh of relief at hearing that, but then Marceline continued, "it was just me". Finn felt very uncomfortable, "well" he said as he began to rub the back of his head, "Hey, you saw me so it's only fair" Marceline said winking at Finn. "I guess that's not as weird then…" Finn said sitting down with Marceline next to the fire, "its only weird if you make it weird" she said, her face still in a smile as she then leaned in and kissed Finn, then warping her arms around his left arm as she and him stared into the fire waiting for Jake and Kim to return.

Hey-o! Jake and Finn are reunited, Marceline is flirting with Finn, and Kim and Jake are going on a mini adventure. Finn had a dream about his pillow world wife and kids, could that cause problems later in the story? Here's a hint… no it will not ha-ha.
