CHAPTER 14

Kim stirred in her sleep & snapped her eyes open. She felt arms around her & lifted her head off of her 'pillow'. That pillow was Jack.

She slowly got up, careful not to wake him & walked to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth & put her hair into a ponytail.

When she walked back out, she grabbed her laptop & sat down on the floor, leaning against her bed. She opened it up & saw they still had the video folder up. She sighed & clicked on one that she didn't watch last night.

DATE: FEBRUARY 10TH, 2012

Jack sat in Kim's kitchen with Jerry & Jeremy. Kim opened up Photo Booth & pressed record. They all screamed 'Hi' & made goofy faces. Kim burst out into laughter which caused the guys to copy that action.

"Jeremy, do your Jack impression!" Kim yelled.

"Your what?" Jack asked. Jeremy laughed & hopped on Kim's lap. The camera moved farther away & Jeremy looked over at Jack.

"Ready Jack?" Jeremy asked. Jack sighed.

"Go for it!" Jack said. Then, Jeremy started running his fingers through his hair, like Jack did & did his famous wink. (A/N: Like in Wasabi Warriors & Capture The Flag) Kim & Jerry started laughing.

"Dude! He went for it!" Jerry yelled. "Gimme Five!" Jerry said, holding up his hand. Jeremy smacked it & Kim laughed.

"I do not do that!" Jack said.

"Yes you do!" Kim exclaimed.

"Name one time!" Jack said.

"You did it the first day of school, while you were fighting the black dragons. The time you & the guys attacked the Swathmore Academy students on their pirate ship-"

"OKAY!" Jack said. "I hate when your right!"

"Me too, yo!" Jerry added.

"She's always right, it's annoying!" Jeremy said. The guys laughed & Kim sighed.

"Don't be jealous! Just being Flawless!" Kim said.

Kim laughed at her own comment & continued to watch the video.

Jack moved his hand & was surprised when he didn't feel anyone next to him. He opened his eyes & slowly sat up in the bed. He heard low voices & snapped his head to the side of the bed.

He scooted over & saw Kim watching a video on the laptop again. This time it was of him, Jerry, Kim & Jeremy. He watched, not making a sound.

The kids were now in the living room. Kim was sitting next to the computer, Jack was sitting on the couch, watching Jerry teach Jeremy how to dance. Jerry then left the room for a moment, Jack took the opportunity to sneak up behind Jeremy.

He picked him up & started spinning him around, like he was a superhero. Kim laughed at them & Jeremy was screaming. Jack threw him down on the couch & Kim continued her laughing.

"You think it's funny, Kimmie?" Jeremy asked.

"Yeah, Kimmie. Do you?" Jack asked. Kim shot him a look.

"Yes I do!" Kim said.

"Jack, it's Kim's turn!" Jeremy yelled. Before Kim could register what he meant, Jack threw Kim over his shoulder & she shrieked.

"JACK!" Jack started spinning her around & Kim hid her face & squealed. "JACK! PUT ME DOWN!"

Jerry walked back into the room & started laughing at the cute - should-be couple - moment between Jack & Kim.

"JACK! I'M GETTING DIZZY!" Kim yelled. Jack stopped spinning & walked to the couch. He threw her down, but Kim grabbed his shirt & pulled him down on top of her.

They burst into a laughing fit, Jack still on top of Kim. Jerry took out his phone & snapped a picture before he cleared his throat. They stopped laughing & Jack helped her up.

"That was a good day." Jack said. Kim snapped her head to the bed & saw Jack awake. She smiled.

"Yeah, it was." Kim commented. "I want to rewind my life to moments like that & press pause."

"Everyone does. But we can't." Jack said.

"Thank's Jack." Kim said. Jack raised an eyebrow at Kim & slid down next to her on the floor.

"For what?" He asked.

"Everything. Staying with me last night, helping me through...all of this." She said.

"Don't mention it." Jack said, with his award winning smile.

"Don't do that!" Kim wined as she smacked his arm. Jack chuckled. "I really appreciate everything you've done for me this past year. It means a lot to me."

"You would've done the same for me, right?" He asked. Kim gave him a look.

"Of course." She said.

"Then stop thanking me. I really didn't do much anyway." Jack said.

"You might think that, but It means a lot just knowing that you care." Kim said.

"Good. Because I do." Jack said. Kim raised an eyebrow this time.

"You do what?" She asked.

"Care about you." He said. Kim's lips curved into a smile, which caused Jack's smile to grow.

Next thing they knew, they were both leaning in. They were an inch apart. Getting closer & closer.

BAM!

Their lips met. Their lips moved in perfect sync -

DING DONG

They both pulled away immediately. Kim jumped up & ran down the stairs to answer the door. Jack threw his head back into the bed & sighed.

"Shit!" He whispered. He got up & walked downstairs to Kim. When he got to the bottom, Kim was opening the door.

Kate stood their & sighed. "Hey, Have you seen Jack?" she asked. Kim exhaled a shaky breathe & opened the door wider to see Jack on the steps.

"YOU SAID YOU WERE AT MILTON'S LAST NIGHT! I CALLED MILTON & HE SAID YOU WEREN'T THERE!" Kate yelled as she slapped him. "YOU GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK JACK!"

"I'm sorry okay. I was-"

"It was my fault, Kate. Relax. I got scared to be alone last night & Jack was already here, so I asked him to stay the night." Kim said.

"Okay..." Kate said. "Then why did you lie & say you were at Milton's?" she asked.

"Because I didn't want you reading into it." Jack said. "Did you rat me out to mom?"

"No. I said you were with Milton. She sent me to come get you. I called the guys, they didn't hear from you. Called Kim, no answer." She explained.

"It's still in the kitchen from last night when I called Milton." Kim said as she bit her lip.

She exchanged looks with Jack for a second & then Kate sighed, which snapped them out of it.

"I was just about to head home." Jack said. He walked past Kate & Kim. He stood on the front step & turned to Kate. "You coming or staying?" He asked.

"I'm coming." Kate said. She gave Kim a smile. "Call me later!" She said as she hugged her.

"I will!" Kim answered as they pulled away. Kate walked out of the house passed Jack. Jack turned to Kim & they exchanged one more look before he walked off with Kate.

Kim closed the door & slid down. She brought her knees up & placed her elbows on top of them. She put her head into her hands & ran her fingers through her hair.

'I just kissed Jack' She thought repeatedly.

Months ago, if this happened, she would've been the happiest girl in the world. Now, she was just confused.

'What if he didn't wanna kiss her? What if Kate never showed up? Did Jack feel the same way as me? Why didn't he say anything to me? Why did I get up to get the door? Why couldn't Kate show up like a few minutes later?'

Kim stood up & marched to the kitchen. She grabbed her phone from the counter & started dialing a number. She put it to her ears as it rang. After three rings, the boy picked up.

"Hello?"

"I need to talk to someone." Is all she said.

"I'm leaving now!" He said.

Jack walked into his room & collapsed down onto his bed, laying on his back. He put his hands behind his head & just stared at the ceiling.

'I just kissed Kim.' He thought.

Jack didn't know whether to be happy about it or sad. All these questions started spinning around in his head like a tornado.

He ran his fingers through his hair & left them behind his head. He groaned as the questions kept spinning.

His door opened & Kate walked in. She stood at the foot of his bed with her arms crossed. Jack eventually sat up & eyed her.

"What?" He asked.

"You & Kim are hiding something." She said. Jack raised an eyebrow, pretending to not know a thing. "I could actually FEEL the tension between you two when I walked into the house."

"I don't know what your talking about." Jack said as he sat up completely. Kate lifted her hand & smacked him over the head.

"THAT'S SUCH BULL, JACK!" She yelled. Jack stood up & walked to his window. "Did you two have a fight?" She asked. Jack just shook his head.

Kate could see that Jack was freaking out on the inside, but hiding it to her. She walked to his window, where he stood, & leaned against the wall. She stood in front of him & he kept his gaze on the window.

"Jack what happened?" She asked softly, instead of resorting to violence & yelling. Jack's gaze left the window & looked at his sister.

"Right before you so kindly rang the bell...I was kissing Kim." Jack said calmly. Kate's eyes widened to the size of CD's & her mouth dropped opened. She started clapping & jumping.

"OH MY GOD!" She yelled. Then, she noticed how his mood still didn't change. "Why are you upset?" She asked.

"You interrupted it. I might have finally confessed my feelings to Kim if you haven't rang the bell." Jack said. Kate mentally slapped herself & sighed.

"I'm sorry. But - wait...So it wasn't tension, it was awkwardness I was feeling. She jumped to get the door & that was it?" Kate asked. Jack nodded.

"Yup." He said, popping the P. "I don't know what's gonna happen now."

"I'll tell you what's gonna happen..." Kate started. "There's no backing out now, you have to admit your feelings for her!"

"What if she doesn't feel the same way?" Jack asked.

"Was she leaning in?" She asked.

"Yeah." Jack answered.

"Then she obviously does like you back! I've been telling you this since Freshman year!" Kate said as she grabbed his shoulders. "Kim. Likes. You."

The questions stopped spinning in his head & Jack smiled. Could Kate be right?

"Are you sure?" Jack asked. Kate sighed.

"Have I ever been wrong?" She asked. Jack opened his mouth to answer, but she cut him off. "Don't answer that...Just think about what I said."

Jack nodded & Kate smiled. "Now go make me food!" She ordered. Jack nodded before realizing what he agreed to.

"Wait! No go make yourself something!" He said. Kate shot him the death stare & he sighed. "Fine!" He groaned as he walked to the kitchen.

A/N: Okay you probably all hate me because I haven't updated in 2 months.

I was trying to stay on track with school & I was stressed out because the marking periods are so short & I didn't wanna fall behind like last year.

But to make up for that! I'm finishing this story.
