Our tinted windows allowed us to travel well into the night once we finally got enough motivation to get to Peter and Charlotte's place. Our hands were clasped across the seats allowing our combined feelings to charge the air around us. I was getting excited and anxious to get there and meet Jasper's real family. After reading so much about his past I couldn't wait to join it with our future.

We pulled into the modest house in Shady Shores as the sun came up. I looked at it appreciatively; it would be the kind of house I would want to live in if that was someday an option for Jasper and me. The house was near to Lake Dallas, but far enough that they had land for as far as the human eye could see. It was a beautiful deep red in color, only the main story and a basement but it was more than enough for two vampires and the occasional visitor like us. The air smelt rich around us of the jasmine and English ivy that grew in the land surrounding the house. Jasper grabbed our bags and we both shut our batman doors as we headed to the house.

Even though I knew they could hear us coming miles away they still were polite enough to wait until we reached the threshold. The door banged open quickly as an exuberant blonde burst out of the door and into Jasper's arms. I tried unsuccessfully to hold a growl back, but I calmed down when her mate slowly walked out the door towards us. He could pass for Jasper's older brother. His hair was darker but they looked alike. He had the same curls and the same build but with a few more inches to his height. Charlotte looked like a miniature Rosalie. Her golden hair went to her waist and with Alice's height, she was stunning. As my newborn emotions allowed me to settle down, the mood returned to excitement.

"Ah, it's entrancing that you gave her a little bit of the Major, Jasper," the men had quickly began a conversation and left us women to get to know each other better.

I saw out of the corner of my eye as Jasper gave his brother a quizzical look.

"That's why she feels such a dark need. It's from your venom. It's a mate thing," Peter replied, tapping one long finger to his forehead.

"It's so great to finally see you in person, Bella. Our few conversations weren't nearly enough."

I smiled at her. I could feel a bond with her like no one I had known before. I was sure it had to do with Jasper being our sire and my mate.

"I think so too. I needed someone else to talk to too. Someone who could understand," I was shocked at my own need to be absolutely truthful with my sister.

"I do, Bella. Not exactly, but I know that it can't be easy to be looked at differently for embracing who you really are. It can make everything more intense, especially since you're a newborn. Come, let me give you the grand tour and then we can talk about more things," I let her loop our arms together and felt myself give the most genuine smile since I had been changed.

Jasper

I watched Bella walk arm and arm into the house with Char and couldn't help the warmth that spread through me. Maybe this wouldn't be nearly as bad as I thought.

"It makes sense; it didn't happen until after we fought. That could've unleashed it. She used to be very frail even for a vampire before then. Feeling very sorry for herself far too often," I related to my brother about my relationship with my mate.

"Well you did change her at the same time Edward was changed, correct?" I nodded. "Well he has times where his emotions are crazy enough to rival a menstruating woman even after his newborn year. Bella will be the same. She was changed at a time where her emotions were already in turmoil, even after she changes and with your venom cursing through her veins she's going to be more difficult than the average."

I grimaced. I made a mess with everything that surrounded Bella, Jesus.

"It will be okay. Let her have some time to figure out who she wants to be before you driver her insane. You may be the hardass Major to the lot of us, but to her you are the one person she should be able to always depend on," Peter could make me feel guiltier than anyone ever could. Even Esme couldn't compete with my all-knowing brother.

"So you're saying I need to tone down the asshole shit and start being a little sweeter," He was shaking his head before I even finished the sentence.

"No, you need to be you, but you need to be supportive of her. You do not have to agree with everything but you should make sure she knows that you will be there. She does not have anyone but you and the Cullens."

"Yea yea, enough of this sappy shit; let's teach you how to hunt again," I smirked and darted off into the woods.

Even if we ate different, Peter would hunt animals with me while I was here. It gave us a chance to bond again.

Bella

I was still smiling as Char-as I was informed to call her because we are family now, led me into the house. The inside could only be described with one word for me, home. It smelled of rich cedar, dust, creamy leather, and Peter and Char's scent. I instantly felt comfortable there. From the way the light shone in the huge bay windows to the fake kitchen accents, they all made me feel like this was where I finally belonged. Char led me across the kitchen and living room past a hallway and into the bedroom that would be Jasper and mine while we stayed there. It was perfect. Creamy taupe walls wrapped the room comfortably with a large four poster bed sitting in the middle of the vast room. The bed had a lush forest green and woodsy brown comforter that had my imagination running wild. Windows lined the west wall bringing in the sunlight and an empty closet kitty-corner across from that. Like the rest of the house it was perfect.

"How do you like it," Char questioned, as if she didn't know how much I would love it.

"It's perfect, thank you," venom pooled my eyes and I shook my head swiftly.

"You must be getting thirsty. I know you wanted to try human hunting. Are you ok going without Jasper or would you like to wait for them to come back."

It was such a significant question. After this, there would be no turning back. Although it was very, very difficult to control my bloodlust I knew that it would get even worse after, but the monster inside of me rejoiced at finally getting what it wanted. I turned to Charlotte and nodded. If anyone understood, it would be her.

She flew out of the house and I followed. I could sense that the men weren't around and it was a relief. Being cooped up with Jasper for so long, even with all of the sex was still mentally exhausting. He fought me at every turn and he was fond of treating me like a precious diamond one minute and an inconvenience the next. Our mating bond was so different than everyone else's, I couldn't help but have doubts about it, but with my plan and the coursing anger through my veins it was hard to believe there was anything outside of my world besides Jasper.

"The Major loves you, you know. Maria really did a number on him. He has a very difficult time with the notion of trust and love," we had slowed down to a human walk as we entered town. I was trying to process what she was saying without the bloodlust around me and the anger that I felt when hearing her name.

I started breathing through my mouth. The bloodlust was nearly impossible to control. It was hard to soothe myself especially with the anger coursing through me, but soon enough, I contented the monster.

"I know, it's just hard to see it sometimes," with that sentence the last my breath was spent.

"We are almost there, stay with me." We had finally arrived at our feeding spot; it was a local dive bar that looked like it catered to the kind of criminals that needed to be put down.

"I am not sure if you know this about us or not, but Peter and my abilities are like two pieces of a puzzle. He has the 'know' and I give the 'whom' when it comes to prey but even without his half I know exactly who we need." I could only nod. I could barely concentrate on exactly what she was telling me the inferno in my throat throbbed.

We clasped hands as we walked in; she was my anchor and my only reason for not destroying this whole bar in a fit of newborn lust.

The bar smelled strongly of dust, body odors, sex, and the alcohol the patrons had consumed. She led us to a table in the very end of the bar and ordered us two Jack and Coke's.

"I remember ordering that when I was human often, and it has a fun scent. See if you can decipher the different levels while I search. It will help with the lust too." I bit out a nod, trying to look sexy to catch our prey.

She looked around with vampire speed as I tried to concentrate on sniffing out the different essences in the liquor/soda combo.

"Found him," she spoke to me, breaking my trance on the lowball. I saw the man in the corner nursing his umpteenth drink. She pretended to take a large swig of her drink and giggled at me as if this was our third bar and we were already three sheets to the wind.

"I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back," she drunkly stuttered to me, teetering on her heels as she passed by our intended victim. He stared at her as she passed and licked his lips. I could see the glint of a knife as he stuck his hand in his pocket.

The venom pooled in my mouth thinking of how good his blood would taste.

I lagged a little slower behind him as he made his way to his death. I could smell the adrenaline coursing through his veins. I idly wondered if it would make him taste that much sweeter. As I neared the back entrance I could hear more of the false shuffle.

"Oh, oh please don't hurt me!"

"Mmm you're a ripe little peach, aren't cha," I could see the man grabbing for Char as she spun him and pinned him to the brick wall, pushing him so hard that his bones creaked with the effort.

"Mmm how does it feel to have the shoe on the other foot bastard?"

I sidled up to them and sniffed along his neck finding the perfect vein to pop.

"Please! Please! I'll do anything! I'll stop!" His whimpered please only made my monster scream with hunger.

"Go ahead hunny, this is your chance. Enjoy it," her soft voice spoke to me as she held onto the sobbing vessel.

I gripped his head too tightly in my hands and wrapped my mouth around his carotid artery and cut through his layers of skin like ripped silk. As the blood filled me I felt a cocktail of emotions consume me. I felt ecstatic, satisfied, carnal, and blithe. There would be no way I could go back to feeding off of animals; even if it ended my relationship with Jasper.
