Chapter 14-

The night was quiet in the common room. Lars had no idea where Lily went, but nobody spoke, except for James asking what Lars had obtained. Lars talked about it, and the night quickly wore down, and the group of them headed to bed.

Lars woke up on Halloween really early. He waited downstairs for Lily, but her friend Anna came downstairs. She smiled at Lars, and he smiled back, but didn't say anything else. Anna left the room, James and Siruis came down, and asked Lars to bring treats back to the common room, from the Slug Club. Lars didn't answer, and went to the Great Hall.

The food was already out, Professor Dumbledore was walking to everyone, wishing them happy Halloween. Following Professor Dumbledore, was Professor Slughorn. He beamed at every student, and went to the Slytherin table first. Montague was the first to greet him. Slughorn and Montague had a good rapport. Slughorn talked to Severus, and then headed to the Gryffindor table. As Montague is Slughorns favorite Slytherin, Lars was his favorite Gryffindor. Slughorn spoke to Lars for a good amount of time, mostly about the party arrangements.

"I would love for you to set up!" slughorn yelled at Lars. Lars smiled back. "Bring 2 friends!" Slughorn also reminded Lars, which had James, and Siruis begging Lars to go. Lars accepted, and all 3 were headed off to the Slug Club.

Lars caught up with Lily, as she was also setting up the tables. She said a quick hello, and then followed her friend Anna to the dungeons. Slughorn greeted them in, followed by Lars, James, and Siruis. Slughorn had tons of treats and events in the room. It was going to be fun….

Slughorn had sat back, and let Lars, and James finish organizing the cake, and then as if it was rehearsed, everyone else showed up a minute later. The crowd consisted of two first years from each house, and everyone else was in older years. Montague was introduced as Slughorn's favorite student, a perfect student in every way. Montague got handshakes from the Slytherin prefects, including Lucius, who kept staring down Lars, and James, and especially Siruis. The night was fun, Slughorn had Halloween at Hogwarts trivia, tons of games, and quarter awards to give out after the party.

Lars spent most time in the dungeons hanging out with James. James and Lars had a better friendship then any of the students in their group. Lars attention got turned after having a specialized Halloween cauldron cake, Lily had just been thrown to the floor by a first year Slytherin girl. She was thrown to the floor, and was being force-fed candy. Lars hesitated after the last incident. Slughorn was nowhere in sight…

"Stupefy!" James yelled, this time James stopped all the problems…. James turned to Lars. "I knew you needed the help mate.." But the incident wouldn't go un noticed.

Montague came back with Slughorn. Two students were on the floor, both very tired, and angry. Montague avoided contact with Lars, but pointed at James, who had his wand out.

"He did it!" Montague pointed. James tried to put his wand back, but already was sent by Slughorn out of the party. Without question, James was asked to never go to another Slug Club party. Severus was laughing, happy that his friend finally got back at James.

The party continued on, Lars was silent. Until the party was almost done, Slughorn had a dance off, for all students to enjoy. Nobody went up for Slytherin, eventually Lars got the guts to ask Anna, Lily's friend to dance. She accepted, and to many surprised applauds, both got up to dance. All the students listened to the Weird Sisters, the popular Wizard band…

Lars had no idea to dance, but he followed Anna's way. Lars saw Montague dancing with the girl that attacked Lily, it was Carole Zabini. Lars tried matching Montague, but eventually the music stopped, Slughorn thanked all of them for coming, and told them he would give the awards to the student's next party. After everyone was gone, Lars talked to Slughorn.

"Whats the matter, M'Boy?" Slughorn laughed, he was very jolly after what had happened not even 20 minutes before that.

"I mean…" Lars started. "I just felt that James shouldn't have been chosen to be gone," Slughorn didn't talk. "So, I feel that Zabini should also be chosen." Lars walked away, as Slughorn walked back in his classroom, just settling down.
