Part XIV

The Battle For Egypt (part2)

Atem gulped as he quickly took in the monster….no the devil…that roared in front of him and his allies. It had the appearance of a mummy…but the cape was attached to its back and wrists, giving the undead wizard the appearance of large wings that were tattered at the ends. A red, blue and black Egyptian kilt covered the lower half of its body and a helmet with two snakes adorned the head like a sinister cowl. But the most striking thing about the wizard was almost subtle… at first Atem did not notice it but once the fiend had reared back and bared its fangs at them, his eyes widened from both fascination and horror. A glowing sphere had appeared like a lidless eye bursting out of the chest, the blood red circle adorned with the marking of an Urorborous; a fitting symbol for an ancient servant of the highest of evils. And as the undead wizard took every breath, it pulsated like that of a heartbeat.

"Who…what is that thing?!" Joey asked, half shrieking.

"He's called 'Mumm-Ra: the Ever-Living'; the Lord of Evil in our kingdom!" Jaguar-a snarled, pulling an arrow taut in her bowstring. "We sealed him away using Light Talismans and an ancient, Holy magic …but it seems even those were not enough."

"How did you escape monster!? You must have had help!" Lion-O was now in the front of the group, his eyes narrowed to slits as he held the Sword of Omens in front of him.

The demon smirked, his eyebrow raised at the young Lord of the Thundercats, "Lord Anu and I are very old friends. When he first came to me and told me of his plight with the young so-called Pharaoh of Egypt destroying all of his plans…well I was not interested…"

Mumm-Ra's lips suddenly split into a sinister grin of malice and glee, his eyes shining in the darkness, "However…at the mention of how you and your feline filth were assisting young Atem, I decided that we could make a deal after all!"

The Thundercats all tensed at the mention of their involvement, making Atem and his two friends wonder just how dangerous wizard could be if even they were on-edge.

"And now that you have made the royal brat your….oh, what do you creatures call that little whelp now? Ah yes, your 'soul brother'…" Mumm-Ra's grin somehow extended wider than before, a look of malice replacing his glee, "…I do believe that I must give you my congratulations on making it this far!"

"Destroy and eviscerate us is more like it…" Joey mumbled, shivering behind Cheetara as he and Tristan gulped loudly.

"Call it what you will…" at this, the wizard sneered as he disappeared into the shadows of the Throne Room like a ghost, the entire group sharing a feeling of dread as they franticly searched the massive room.

"Everyone, spread out! Don't let him catch you off guard!" Lynx-O called out, his ears twitching feverishly as he tried to sense Mumm-Ra's presence.

"Whatever it is you are planning Mumm-Ra, it won't work! This ends now!" Lion-O growled, his teeth bared as he gave a feral hiss of warning.

"Indeed…"

Like lightning, Mumm-Ra's clawed hand materialized out of the shadows next to Wily Kat and swiped, the claws barely missing the Thunder Kitten as the boy yelped from fear and the shirt he was wearing ripping. In a second, Jaguar-a aimed her arrow at the wizard's chest and fired. Mumm-Ra however knocked it away with a huff before floating into the air and hurling fireballs imbued with dark magic like a hailstorm of fire.

Everyone scattered to avoid the attacks, making them separate from each other. Atem rolled to the side as he dodged another fireball and gasped as he saw the undead wizard notice him, scrambling out of the way just as it flew past him like a giant bat out of the Underworld. Front flipping over a tumbled pillar, he noticed Panthero behind another of the still standing pillars, a terrified Joey and Tristan hugging each other as if saying their last goodbyes.

Panthero was about to say something to them but turned suddenly at the sound of moving rubble behind him, sighing with relief as the source of the noise turned out to be Atem.

"Thank Jaga you are alright," the battle master turned to the scene of battle and thought deeply about their next move.

"What are we gonna do?" Joey panted a bruise on his cheek, probably from when he dodged the first assault of fireballs. "This guy is just too strong for us to handle!"

"The Thundercats and I can handle this spawn of evil…" Panthero's eyes suddenly widened as he thought of something, "…But I've got a job for you and Tristan! Get to the dungeon and free the priests; Lynx-O will go with you to help in case something goes wrong. As for you, young prince…" He turned to Atem, seriousness written on his face. "You go after Lord Anu."

"Atem can't face Lord Anu by himself! What are you, insane?!" Tristan half yelped.

"He can do it. Atem-"

The four looked at the princess who, with Cheetara, had vaulted over to them. Jaguar-a's hair was a mess and her crown was askew, but her eyes were burning with the warrior spirit she had. Her eyes locked with Atem's and finished what Panthero was about to say, somehow knowing what he was going to say. "You're stronger than when we first met...you're ready for this. Now you go after that sewer rat, and reclaim your throne."

Atem smirked and waited for Mumm-Ra to turn his back before running up the secret staircase after Lord Anu. He was almost near the top when he was suddenly pulled back by his leg, a rope made of dark light wrapped tightly around his ankle.

And at the end of the rope…

"Did you really think you could sneak by me, boy?" Mumm-Ra cackled as he pulled the rope taunt, making Atem fall to the ground and roll down a few of the stairs. "The Cats have taught you well…however you're no match for Mumm-Ra: the Ever-Living!"

Atem weakly looked up and noticed that Lion-O was rushing up behind the wizard. Sensing the need to distract him, the prince reached out and grabbed a metal serving tray that lay next to him, throwing it like a discus at Mumm-Ra. The mummy swatted it away with a bored expression, but was too late to realize that the Lord of the Thundercats had leaped into the air towards him, his claw shield bashing into the servant of evil's jaw. Upon impact, Mumm-Ra staggered back a few steps, dropping the rope that bound Atem's leg.

"Now Atem…GO!" Lion-O roared, his sword clashed with Mumm-Ra's one of darkness as the mummy regained focus.

Meanwhile, in the dungeon…

Seth knew something was up when the undead guards began to get restless. He only hoped it was in their favor. He wasn't sure how much longer they could stand to be in this place...

A sudden loud noise made them jump, the guards immediately fanning out to check on the ruckus.

"What's going on?" Mahad asked, coming up to the bars.

"Not sure," Seth answered from where he was standing.

Footsteps began to come toward them, and Karim helped Solomon up in case they had to fight. A brightly lit torch came into view and holding that torch…was an old man with strange markings on his face and body.

Shada took a fighting stance. "Who are you?"

"A friend. One who has been sent to free you of this plight," the old man whispered with urgency, "Quick, before more guards come this way!"

"We're not going anywhere." Seth shot back, eyes narrowed. "How do we know you're not in league with those demons?"

"I don't think you have a choice." The old man said calmly.

"Hey, did you find 'em, Lynx-O?!"

Isis shot to her feet. "Is that Joey?"

Her question was answered when Joey appeared with Tristan seconds later, panting on either side of the old man.

"Hurry and get them out so we can help Atem!" The blonde half ordered.

"Atem's back?!" Mahad yelled, in both shock and joy. "Then that means he-"

"Freed the ThunderCats? You bet he did, but we don't have time for that right now!"

"Now we got two options here ladies and gentlemen: we can stay here and chat before those zombies come back and eat us alive…" Tristan smirked, twirling the keys on his finger. "…Or we can get out of here and take back the palace. You better decide quickly though, I really don't want to be their next course!"

Shada and the priests quickly bowed to the elder ThunderCat. "Please forgive us, wise one. We didn't know who you were."

Seth just rolled his eyes, his arms crossed as he stepped out of the way of the door.

"We can talk later…" Lynx-O handed Tristan the torch and took the keys from him at the same time, unlocking the cell and swinging it open. "There we are. Now follow me and keep up."

Elsewhere…

Atem ran up the stairs, his heart pounding in his ears as he trekked upwards to his goal. He wasn't going to let that bottom-dwelling scavenger get away…he wanted to rip that rat limb from limb. The stairs finally ended and Atem arrived on the roof of the palace. The sky was so dark that he had to strain his eyes in order to see and realized that there wasn't any moonlight. He caught his breath and his gaze swept over his surroundings. Now was not the time to be sight-seeing.

"Where are you, Lord Anu?! Come out and face me, coward!"

"I'd watch my tone, if I were you boy." The dark fog parted to reveal Lord Anu beside an altar, an open spell book laid on top. "As you can see, I'm right here. And I'd rather deal with you later, so…" He made a motion with his hand, "…Why don't you stay there?"

Atem grunted as he tried to move his legs but found that they had been frozen solid!

Lord Anu faced the moon and drew a breath before chanting, "Set, Lord of Chaos and Darkness , your servant has returned to serve you!"

The prince grunted as he tried to move his legs, eyes never leaving Lord Anu. And for some reason…Atem felt fear swell within him like never before.

Clouds covered the moon, and a long shadow appeared behind Lord Anu and then became a black figure with only red eyes. Lord Anu turned and bowed to the sinister being, dropping onto one knee in a show of who was clearly in charge.

"Set?!" The prince thought, in panic.

"Why have you summoned me?" The shadow asked, every word sounding like a hiss as it cut to the point.

"I was imprisoned by the warriors of Horus, O Great One." Lord Anu replied. "But as you can see, I've returned to serve you and finish what I started."

"And what would you ask of me, dog?"

"Return all of the Anubis' power to me!"

After a few seconds of silence, The Shadow chuckled darkly, "If that is what you wish…"

With a very slow movement, Set grabbed Lord Anu by the throat and raised him up to eye level. Opening its mouth, the shadow exhaled a dark breath and a dark aura swirled around the two with the force of a hurricane. The force was so strong that it broke the spell that held Atem in one place and caused him to be hurled backward a few meters. Luckily, he landed on his feet at the last second, mentally thanking Panthero and Lynx-O for their training.

Suddenly it all stopped as quickly as it happened. Lord Anu was alone, face down on the ground and unmoving, the shadow nowhere in sight. And then as if pulled upward by unseen strings, the dark priest slowly stood up. His body was…different. The very mass of his muscular frame had transformed to one that rivaled one of the great Titans of legend, large veins popping from in his face and arms. And in the center of his forehead, a dark blue orb glinted with an otherworldly glow of dark flames.

"At long last…the power of the Dead God is finally mine!"

Atem swallowed hard and his body went stiff as Lord Anu turned to him, grinning with canine fangs behind human lips. With speed that was inhumanly possible, the God was suddenly in front of the young prince, his massive hand around Atem's throat as it squeezed tightly.

"The speed and strength that flows through my veins…" The dark priest mused, his own eyes wide with surprise at his newfound abilities. "Never before have I felt a feeling like this…"

Atem clawed at hand that was around his throat, struggling to breathe against the giant's grip. As if sensing the prince's plight, the dark God sneered before throwing Atem to the side like a discarded doll.

"I could destroy you here and now, you know that don't you Atem?" The voice sounded innocent enough, yet Atem could hear the venom and silent insanity behind every syllable. Crossing his arms, the giant seemed to smirk, "But I don't think I shall end our fun so soon…it would be all too easy to simply just end your life this very instant."

The Dark God put a hand to his chin and thought for a bit, raising an eyebrow in Atem's direction when an idea crossed his mind.

"I think I have a solution that will work for both of us, little prince. How about we play a game?"

"A-A game?" Atem choked.

"You like games right? So let's play one, right here and now. Nothing to fancy or brash…"

Atem bite his lip worriedly; what the giant was implying was very dangerous. What sort of game did this monster have in mind..?

"But we still need to keep things interesting, don't we; so how about…a Shadow Game?"

If the prince was scared before, his blood was now ice flowing through his veins. A Shadow Game? The most feared and most suicidal of all magic duels ever recorded. Even his father had warned Atem that they were to be shunned from all thought unless they were the only possible way…and now he was face to face with that decision.

And if he failed…he would not only lose his life…but his very immortal soul!

Atem slowly got up and faced the God. What he was considering was insane; if he lost his soul, it would be forever tortured by the devils and demons of the Shadow Realm, or by the devil itself. On the other hand, he knew it was the only way to save his kingdom.

His hand went to his belt and his fingers brushed against the knife. If he could lure Anubis close enough…

"Very well Anu…I accept your challenge."

His opponent gave a feral grin and turned away from him, walking a few feet away from him before facing him again. However the grin suddenly turned into a snarling frown as he seemed to look past Atem…

Noticing the God's diverted gaze, Atem whirled around to see the Thundercats run onto the roof. They were covered in scrapes and bruises but mostly unharmed. And that could only mean that they had beaten Mumm-Ra…or at least had gotten away from him for the time being.

"Anu, you're outnumbered and your partner of evil is no more!" Lion-O snarled and pointed the Sword of Omens at the giant. "Surrender now and we will make your punishment and imprisonment-"

"Lord Anu?! The mortal you once knew is dead, Thundarian; you now stand before Anubis: Lord of the Dead!" Anubis growled a reply, snapping his fingers. In an instant, beams of light shot from the ground and began to enclose the two duelists in a pyramid of some sort.

"I should've known those half-breeds would be a further nuisance…But now they will no longer be able to disturb out duel."

"What have you done, Anubis?" Atem clenched his fist and glared daggers at the God.

The God in question simply shrugged with a smirk, "Just a barrier to keep the vermin out. Only the worthy are allowed inside the Pyramid of Light and they…well…"

Atem looked at the faces of his friends and family, returning their worried expressions with a determined look in his eye. When he gazed upon Cheetara, his expression turned to one of slight confusion. The Thundarian was pointing her hand in a subtle motion near the prince's feet… and as Atem looked down, his eyes widened with surprise.

"A-A Dia Dhank? How did she…?"

Without another second's thought, Atem quickly put it on and looked at Anubis. Closing his eyes, the prince took a deep breath; if he wanted to win this Shadow Game and come out alive, he needed to keep a clear head. He had to win this…not just for himself or the Thundercats. He had to win this for all of Egypt.

"Get ready monster…because I'm sending you back to the abyss from whence you came."

Anubis barked out a laugh. "Then, as your priests say: 'DAHA'!"(1)

Atem agreed, with a nod the wing like part of his Dia-Dhank extended as he took a dueling stance. "'DAHA'!"

"I believe I shall go first…" Anubis mused, "Let's see...for now I'll summon this creature." Anubis extended his hand, black tar seeping out from the ground and bubbling in front of him. The oozing, vicious liquid began to take shape and a monster rose from it like a golem crafted from clay. The monster in question looked like one of the mummies he had faced before…however this one wasn't a warrior and an ominous purple mist was seeping from every wrinkle and wrap on its body.

"This is one of the many damned souls that wander the Underworld," Anubis explained. "I turned him into a Ka Spirit for our little game. This pitiful mortal was once a man who dabbled in poison…so much so that it became his undoing. Now he wanders the afterlife for the antidote to cure the poison that follows him." (2)

The mummy moaned and turned its hollow sockets at Atem, unmoving from its post.

The prince stood straighter, his eyes narrowed as the wing attached to his Dia-Dhank suddenly opened to reveal four empty spaces. "I know just the thing to send that creature back to where it belongs. Come forth…Feral Imp!"

A greenish furred monster appeared in front of Atem, roaring loudly in challenge.

Anubis however just laughed. "You really think that little creature will save you? Go my servant…destroy the prince's pet!"

In response to the command, the mummy took a few steps forward before leaping at Feral Imp and sinking its teeth into the creature's neck. Almost immediately after, Atem screamed from a burning pain in the side of his own neck, gripping the spot as his creature vanished from the battlefield. Blood trickled from the wound and from his hand as he pulled it away, a soft gasp of shock escaping him.

"Aw, did the little prince get a scratch?" Anubis jeered, crossing his arms in a mocking fashion. "Don't tell me you've forgotten about the rules of a Shadow Game: whenever a monster sustains any form of injury, you in turn shall take the same punishment and lose some of your soul!"

The prince growled, "I did forget that…but I've got to shake it off." He took a breath to focus once again. "I summon Magicians Valkeriya ."

A young woman with auburn hair and armor appeared before the prince, pointing a staff at Anubis and his creature with a glare as intense as her summoner.

Anubis raised a brow, "Hmm…Interesting choice, brat." The look of intrigue turned into another malicious grin as he chuckled. "However, my creature just so happens to have the unique ability that lets it grow stronger with every undead companion on the field of battle. So here is a friend to keep him from getting lonely." The black ooze bubbled again and another undead solider rose from the tar like-substance.

"Now my pawns…attack!"

Both of mummies attacked Magicians Valkeriya, ripping the monster to shreds as it screamed before disappearing.

Atem screamed in agony yet again, more wounds appearing on his body and his life force leaving him bit by bit. Raising his hand, he steadied himself before glaring at Anubis.

"I use the spell 'Monster Reborn' to bring back my Magicians Valkeriya. Then, I cast the spell 'Sages Stone', allowing me summon another creature. And the monster I summon….Sorcerer Of Dark Magic!"

Another magician appeared beside Valkerya, this one male and wearing a dark armor with orbs imbedded in it that were almost every color of the rainbow. The monster gave a nod to the prince then his eyes locked on the monsters before him.

"Interesting how you seem to prefer the dark mages and demons, little prince," Anubis smirked, "Are you sure you wouldn't want to join me in ravaging this field of existence?"

"I'm not done yet!" Atem stiffened his stance, the voice erupting from his throat like a snarl as he tried to block out Anubis' words and focus on the duel at hand. He knew what the dark god was trying to do, and he would not let him nor anyone sway his mind. "I cast the spell 'Pot of Greed', which lets me summon two more monsters. Come to my aid, 'Watapon' and 'Celtic Guardian'!"

A pink ball of adorable fluff appeared beside Valkerya, oozing a cutesy charm as it bobbed up and down in place happily. The elf meanwhile had appeared next to Sorcerer Of Dark Magic, the gaze of an ancient warrior etched on its face as it readied its blade and awaited its next orders.

"Oh, and did I forget to mention that for every spell I use, my Sorcerer gets stronger?" Atem smirked back at Anubis, hoping it would get a rise out of him..

However, Anubis's gaze never wavered from Atem's; seemingly unaffected by what Atem was telling him. That subtle hint made Atem suspicious…did Anubis have a secret plan?

He mentally shook his head; now was not a time for thinking things over ten billion times. Now was a time for action when he had the chance. Anubis and his monsters were right where Atem wanted them.

"Now my monsters, ATTACK!"

Without hesitation, all four creatures leaped at the mummies and destroyed them. This made Anubis fell to one knee and growl in pain, worse wounds than the ones Atem had popping up on his body. For a split second, Atem felt a seed of hope be planted in his chest. He had hurt a god, and the god knew it as well; the being that once thought of itself as immortal now found himself being wounded by a mere mortal.

But all of that hope seemed to slip away as the faint sound of chuckling reached Atem's ears. And soon that dark chuckle had erupted into a psychotic eruption of laughter.

Atem stared wide eyed at the laughing form of Anubis, a combination of confusion and serious worry etched on his face.

"What's so funny?" Atem asked, gulping.

"That attack you just pulled…do you have any idea of what you have just done?" The dark god began to slowly stand back up, the grin even wider and more sinister than Atem thought was humanly possible.

Seeing Atem's confusion, he continued. "I figured you would try and take the first chance you could get at taking some of my Life Points...and now that you have done so foolish of a task, I can now summon one of my, nay the world's most powerful beasts! All I had to do lose half of my energy and two monsters...but was a chance I am happy to take…"

Raising his hands above him like a great sorcerer, Anubis looked to the heavens and cackled, "Allow me to introduce the creatures who'll be your demise…allow me to show you the true power of darkness!"

Atem's eyes went wide and his jaw slowly dropped as a new monster towered above him and his four of summoned creatures. The thing could literally be referred to as a Sphinx; the body of a lioness with white fur while the face was that of a female woman with long magenta hair, an iron collar with a bit of a chain leash hanging from it adorned her neck.

"Prince Atem, meet Sphinx Teleina…" Anubis smiled, waving a hand to Teleina in a fashionable greeting. The Sphinx locked its golden green eyes onto the prince and smiled warmly at him in almost a kind and innocent way.

"Teleina…meet dinner…"

In an instant, the once beautiful face turned horrific and grotesque as it split to show the row upon row of sharp teeth hidden behind its full human lips, the Sphinx's smile the most disturbing and nightmarish thing Prince Atem had ever witnessed. Taking a step back, Atem could only stare in horror at the beast in front of him.

He was so focused on the newest monster that he didn't notice the pool of tar slowly get even bigger and bigger underneath and around it…

Outside the barrier…

"By Jaga…what is that thing?"

Panthero, along with the other Thundercats, were all sharing the same horror Atem had been experiencing.

Cheetara swallowed audibly, a look of slight disgust shadowing her fear "It's horrid…"

Lion-O had his arms around Jaguar-a's waist, either to hold her back or keep her legs from giving out, and the princess in question clung to her brother's arm for support.

"Lord of the Heavens…protect us all." She whispered silently.

"HEY!"

All heads turned behind them as Joey, Tristan, and Lynx-O run out to them with the priests in tow, their once white robes were covered in dirt, sludge and grime. Somehow they had all managed to retrieve the Millennium Items and were out of breath from all of the running they had been doing.

"By Ra…" Solomon said, awe in his voice. "Atem truly did it!"

Mahad immediately bowed to them the same way the people always bowed to the pharaoh, the others doing the same…except for Seth of course.

"Your Graces, it is an honor to finally meet you."

"We appreciate the welcome," Lion-O said. "But right now…our brother's in trouble."

"'Brother?'" Seth asked, brow furrowing. "Who do you mean?"

"We mean Prince Atem, of course."

"What is this insolence!?" Seth pointed the Millennium Rod threateningly at Lion-O, his eyes narrowed to slits. "The prince of all Egypt is no brother of yours!"

"He did the ritual with us," Jaguar-a explained, eyes never leaving Atem's battle, "So by law, he is."

Seth was about to say something but Karim cut him off. "What's going on? And what is that barrier?"

"Lord Anu summoned it…" Cheetara explained. "He's now Death itself. He challenged Atem to a Shadow Game and put up the barrier to keep us out."

"Is there any way to help Atem?" Wiley Kit asked.

Tygra shook his head. "We can only hope that he succeeds in defeating Anubis."

They all saw the tar bubble again and another Sphinx-like creature rise up.

Lion-O held his sister closer to him as they saw what was summoned. "Yes…only hope."

Back with Atem…

Atem's legs felt like lead as the new monster rose from the tar. It had the brown torso of a man but had the body and head of a lion, complete with a golden mane. Armor covered its chest and its red eyes seemed to pierce Atem's very soul.

"And let's not forget Teleina's mate, the mighty Andro, Sphinx!" Anubis laughed cruelly, pointing at the prince's monsters. "Now, feast on their souls!"

Andro Sphinx bellowed a roar, sending Wattapon and Celtic Guardian flying away before disappearing when they hit the barrier. Atem gave a shout when he felt burning pain in his back as if someone was pressing a white hot knife into his skin, blood dripping down his arm and cheek. He tried to stop his vision from going out of focus as more of his life force was drained away.

Teleina attacked next, pouncing on both Sorcerer Of Dark Magic and Magician's Valkerya as she Crushed them beneath her paws. The intensifying pain made Atem scream as it spread to his chest, his very ribs cracking. The pain was so extreme that he fell onto his side, his soul hanging by a thread as he stayed motionless.

He heard footsteps and struggled to look up as The Dark God drew a sword from its sheath, never breaking his slow stride. "You are a stubborn one, aren't you? Those cats taught you well; perhaps when I'm through with you, I'll make them my slaves? I'm sure they'll be well suited to the job, don't you think?"

Atem painfully glared at the being before him and was startled to hear a feral growl come from his throat.

"Well that certainly was not very royal like, little savage," Anubis jeered. "I believe that you got more of Lion-O's blood in you than that other human…"

A thought crossed his mind and Anubis actually stopped to ponder it for a second, a taunting grin on his face as he bellowed a laugh. "But wait, that means…why you're a Thunderian! Oh, this is just too good; the pharaoh is a half-breed!" He laughed again, sneering as he raised the sword to stab through Atem's heart. "Did you really think you could defeat me? Me, the God of Death?! You're more pathetic than I-"

He was cut off as he felt something be driven into his chest. Glancing down, he saw a dagger with Atem's hand around the hilt. After a few seconds of perplexed confusion and surprise, The God Of Death suddenly began to chuckle…which began to turn into a full blown laugh.

"You think a mere dagger can stop me?! You must be more desperate than I-"

Light began to spider web through and all over Anubis's body. He staggered back from Atem and tried to pull the dagger from his chest…but stayed in place as if glued. His creatures became the tar again as his eyes widened when he slowly realized what this light was.

"No! NO! Wait, this is wrong! I WON'T BE DEFEATED AGAIN!"

His body began to converse and turn a bluish black it started to grow larger and larger. His nose became a snout, teeth became fangs, hands and feet became paws. Spikes covered his back as his very clothing ripped and tore away. He wasn't human anymore….now he was the jackal of his namesake!

The Jackal's size shattered the barrier itself, destroying it!

The Thundercats and the priests ran over to Atem, who was slipping into unconsciousness bit by bit. Jaguar-a ran forward in front of everyone else, tossing a glass pyramid into the air before chanting in a voice that echoed with power. "Evil monster, get thee hence…only good shall reckoned pence." The objects, both pyramid and dagger, glowed with light. "For the evil you have done…evil monster return from whence you come!" (3)

The Jackal roared in pain as his body became tar and was sucked into the glass pyramid. The pyramid pulsed for a few moments before it clattered to the ground.

It was over.

"We did it…" Atem whispered. "We…did it…"

Then his head swam with dizziness. The last thing he heard was Pumyra saying, "Get him to his room! We need to tend him immediately!"

Sunrise Phoenix: WHEW! This was a tough chapter to do...now that Anubis is gone-or rather-imprisoned, what will happen now? Will the Thundercats stay with Atem or go home?

One more chapter to go, people! Also, I'm having trouble deciding which story I should do next. I'd like my viewers to read the titles at the bottom of my profile and PM me the name of the story you'd like to see. 'Til next time!
