Sasuke was stumbling through the forest with Sakura behind him. Sasuke was injured. He limped slightly and there was bruising up and down his side. Sakura was injured too, worse than Sasuke. Her hand, stretching from her fingers to her wrist, was bruised deep blue and Sasuke thought that she had broken, or at least sprained, it but she was using her hand like she normally did and never complained of any pain. She walked as gracefully as she always had. She showed no signs that a part of her had just 'died'.
"Sakura, are you sure you're okay?" He asked, looking at her with concern.
She skipped ahead, ignoring him completely.
He scowled, then called out, "Lolita!"
She stoppd, turned around like as graceful as a ballerina and pouted when she looked at him.
"You keep on using the wrong name," She smiled, "I told you… Sakura died."
Sasuke shook his head, "That's not true. She's there somewhere. She'll come back."
Sakura smirked, "Denial is the first stage of grief."
"I'm not grieving," Sasuke snapped, "You didn't die."
"Of course, I didn't die. Sakura died. Lolita is stronger than Sakura so she survived."
"This is absurd," Sasuke muttered.
"Only half as absurd as you fucking a fourteen year old girl," Sakura said and there was a bite in her voice.
Sasuke glared at her, "And where is the pride of letting yourself be used by a thirty year old man?"
Sakura laughed. Her laugh was like the chilling sound of china clinking together.
"You think you used me?" She crowed, "No, Sasuke-kun, I used you. I seduced you."
Sasuke opened his mouth and was about to say something when he heard voices. He grabbed Sakura and pulled her into the bushes. She giggled when he touched her but he covered her mouth with his hand and hid them in the shadows.
The two people who passed them were policemen. One was tall, skinny and had a tuff of a spiky ponytail on the top of his head. He looked very serious and led another policeman who was fatter and was noisily eating a packet of chips.
"Are you sure the car back there was the car they had stolen?" The fatter one asked.
The skinnier one stopped and said, "Yes. I'm sure. They're in this forest somewhere."
"Do you have any idea about why they crashed?" Asked the fat one between bites.
"I think Sasuke Uchiha fell asleep behind the wheel. They haven't stopped anywhere in a long time. They also couldn't share the driving and they couldn't stop or else we would've caught them. He must have been exhausted."
Sasuke scowled from his hiding place. The skinny one wasn't wrong. He had been exhausted. He was still exhausted.
"So, what do we do?" Asked the fat policeman.
"Obviously, Chouji, we look for them with all the power of the police force. We need helicopters and sniffer dogs. We won't leave this forest until we've combed it backwards and forwards."
"Okay, Shikamaru. I'll call for back-up." The fat policeman who was called Chouji said and the other policeman, Shikamaru, nodded.
When both the policemen had disappeared, Sasuke and Sakura emerged from their hiding space. Sakura laughed again.
"They're going to catch us," She almost sang.
"No they're not," Sasuke growled.
"What do you suggest, Sasuke-kun? Suicide pact on three?"
Sasuke ignored her. He was beginning to hate Lolita. She was evil, hollow and nothing like the real Sakura. He wanted Sakura back.
"Shut up," He said softly.
"What did you say to me?" Sakura snapped, "I wouldn't push me if I were you. Sakura may have let you push her around. She may have let you shout at her and hit her but she's dead now. I'm stronger than her and if you annoy me, Sasuke-kun, I'll scream and all the kings horses will come running and save the damsel in distress."
"You're not a damsel in distress, you're a sociopath."
She laughed again, "Who are they going to believe? Me or you?"
Sasuke grabbed her and slammed her against the tree. His face was contorted in a frightful glare but it only made Sakura laughed.
No, not Sakura, Lolita.
Lolita grinned at him, "You foolish little boy."
He shook her angrily, "Are you listening to yourself? Can you hear yourself speak? Look at what you're becoming!"
"Shut up! Let me go! LET ME GO!"
"NO!" he shouted, "Look at me, Sakura! LOOK AT ME!"
She was squirming, trying desperately to wiggle out of his grip. It took Sasuke a while to realise that she was scared. Lolita was scared.
"Look at what you're doing," He said, whispering in her ear, "Do you remember? Do you remember that man you killed? Do you remember what you let me do to you."
She still wouldn't look at him. He bent low to her cheek, licking the shell of her ear tantalizingly.
"Do you remember, Lolita? Do you remember being Sakura?"
Sakura collapsed. Sasuke was not expected the sudden movement and dropped down with her with Sakura slumped against his chest.
She began to shake. Sasuke realised, with a heavy heart, that she was having a seizure. The car crash must have injured her more than he had originally thought. She shook violently, her eyes rolling back into her skull and foam oozing from her mouth. Sasuke held her but her flailing limbs wouldn't stop so eventually, he put her on the ground, holding her wrists, and prayed that she work through her fit.
When she finally stopped, she was unconscious. He held her head in his lap. She needed help that Sasuke couldn't give her. She needed medical help, she need psychiatric help. As Sasuke looked at her still, unconscious face, Sasuke realised that he was destroying her. Lolita came from him, not Sakura. He had given Lolita to Sakura. He was the one who had caused her insanity.
And if he had a shred of decency, if he loved her at all, then he had to let her go.
He picked her up. He held her like she was a four year old child with her legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders. They're chest were touching but it wasn't sexual. Her head flopped on his shoulder as she continued to sleep.
Carrying her like this made Sasuke realise that she really was just a child. Little Lolita. She was the monster he had created and if he didn't stop her now then she would never return to the little girl she had been before he had destroyed her innocence.
He carried her through the forest. He didn't care where he was going and he wasn't sure how long he walked but when he saw figures in the distance, when he heard the beating of the helicopter blades and felt the light beam down from above him, his voice croaked out the words, "Help her."
After that it was a blur of policemen in their blue uniforms, the flashing of lights and the shrieking of sirens. Someone slammed his head on a car bonnet and spoke memorized words to him. He felt handcuffs around his wrists.
