I live! It's been a while hasn't it? I basically took December off of this story, but I'm getting back into it! This chapter I needed to split into two to make it work (also because Pt.2 isn't written yet...) but I think it's for the best!

In other news, I got Alpha Sapphire and am enjoying it. Haven't gotten far in it yet, but the memories... & the nostalgia... it burns!

Special thanks to GirlFish, nerfherder97, RYNO IV, Anonymous, yorushihe, Final Genesis, and GameboyNinjaUltimateIcarus for reviewing the last chapter. Good to know I have fans of this story!

Alright, now onto Chapter 14: New Places, Old Faces Pt.1

Beginning of Part Two

In another time, another place, and another reality…

"Ready?" Kristoff shouted over the gale of the rift thing. Anna nodded in confirmation and Kristoff said, "On three!"

"One!" They both took a deep breath, preparing themselves for whatever was about to happen.

"Two!" Anna looked around the corner and saw that the rift had significantly shrunk, and was showing signs of disappearing. The wind had also died down a bit as well.

"Three!" They two launched themselves off the doorframe and ran into the palace, immediately feeling the wind start tugging at them with a vengeance. Anna could feel her feet lift off the ground as she came closer to the rift. She stared into the darkness in the center, and she, for one brief moment, felt like it was staring back. She looked over and saw Kristoff had a determined look on his face, so Anna matched it and soon enough they were almost in.

The last thought Anna had before they entered the rift was, Don't worry Elsa, I'm coming for you.

Then the two entered the rift and disappeared.

Immediately, the rift destabilized, not being able to handle too many persons entering it. It wavered for a moment, and then shrunk down into nothingness, leaving behind only the wreckage inside it caused.

There was a loud silence without the constant wind and howling. The mountains stood still again.

Not long after, a living, talking snowman shuffled his way inside and began counting the seconds after they left…

Anna felt like she was vibrating, as in like her entire body was trying to shake itself apart, vibrating. Oh God, what's going on? She thought.

But just as soon as the vibrating came, it vanished. Instead she felt like she was swimming in a lake. Anna found herself floating in a strange world. It was slightly murky with some browns and blacks, but overall it was a bright mixture of red, pink, and blue. White dots were seen in the distance, looking like bright stars shining in space. "Whoa" was all she could say.

"What is this place?" Kristoff asked, also in awe of their surroundings.

"Why are you asking me?" Anna said.

"Good point." He admitted.

"Lets start looking for Elsa." Anna said and tried to move forward, only to find out that she couldn't. She had no control over her body's movement, as it only seemed to be going forward away from the rift. She started to bicycle in midair, trying to move forward, but nothing came from it. She looked over at Kristoff and saw that he was having the same issue.

"Well, this is a problem…" He said sardonically, he looked back at Anna, "Nothing?" She shook her head and they both sighed.

There was a loud noise behind them and as they turned around, which they could do, they saw that the rift had now collapsed and disappeared, ending with a loud bang and leaving them stranded in this strange place. Their forward momentum continued unabated.

"Now that's a problem." Anna commented. Their only known way back home had just been cut off. She was hoping that it would stay open until they found Elsa but you can't wish for everything.

"So now what?" Kristoff said, floating along side Anna on her right.

"I guess we just try and find where Elsa is." Anna said dejectedly.

"This will take a while…" Kristoff muttered, looking at the vast expanse of nothingness surrounding them, unable to change his direction.

There was only a moments warning as Anna sucked in a deep breath. "EEEEEELLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAA!" Anna screamed so loudly and so abruptly that Kristoff thought he went deaf for a moment and had ringing in his ears for minutes later.

"Ow…" He said softly. Anna yelled twice more, leaving Kristoff a wincing mess. Then the silence became deafening, aside from the ringing in his ears. There was nothing. No answer, no response.

"Huh?" Anna turned around, thinking that she heard something. "Did you hear something?" She asked Kristoff.

He gave her a rueful look, still rubbing his ears and deadpanned, "What, did you say something?" When Anna gave him a death glare, he said, "Sorry, sorry, but no, I didn't."

Anna swung her head around, the whisper of a sound catching her attention. "There it is again!" She scanned the expanse behind her for anything different.

There was a tapping on her shoulder, "Uhh, Anna?" Kristoff said with blatant urgently.

Anna turned her head back around and herself face to face with what Kristoff was looking at. It was an eye, a frickin' eye, looking her in the face. Her own pair widened with shock and just as she was about to do something about it, the eye backed up and she could see more of it. It had an eye in its center, but there was black 'skin' forming around it with a small nob at the top of it and with two 'legs' going down that were joined in the middle with a hoop.

"Known!" It said and did a couple of flips in mid-air, expressing some sort of emotion, and it was joined by three more creatures that were similar to it. The next two were the same, having the eye in the center but with two limbs going out at opposite angles on either side of the eye, ending with a limb going straight down on the left, and one going up on the right. The fourth one was the same as the first one that appeared and they were all looking at Anna.

Anna was creeped out. She looked over at Kristoff and saw that he had a similar problem with eight of those creatures looking at him instead. "What are these things?" Kristoff said, trying to edge away from them but failing due to the problem of not being able to move his body.

"I don't know!" Anna said, also trying to move away from them and having about as much luck as Kristoff was. She glanced at them and suddenly felt something go 'click' in her mind. Literally, she almost heard the sound. She narrowed her eyes and blinked, and then she exclaimed, "Kristoff! They make letters!"

"What?"

"They spelled out my name, look!" Kristoff turned around and saw that Anna had four of those creatures in front of her. The two at the ends looked the same, and the two in the middle also looked similar. Kristoff made a few connections and managed to spell out, A, N, N, A.

"You're right!" He turned around and also saw that the creatures had his name spelled out as well. K, R, I, S, T, O, F, F. "They spelled my name out too! How do they know that?"

"Maybe they know where Elsa is." Anna said.

"Couldn't hurt to ask." Kristoff shrugged.

Right, so how do I do this? "Umm, excuse me?" She said to the creatures.

"Known?" They made a questioning sound that Anna translated to a 'what?' or maybe a 'yes?'

"Did another person just came through her a moment ago? Woman? Tall, white-blond hair, blue eyes? Do you know where she is or where she went?"

The creatures looked at each other confusedly for a moment, conversing among themselves in their strange language. Suddenly they exclaimed out "Unknown!" and started swirling around each other. More of the creatures came to join them and Anna lost track of the original ones that appeared. Anna and Kristoff were soon in a sphere of these creatures, all different letters as Anna noticed. Four separated from this group and came in front of the two humans. "Unknown!" They exclaimed.

Anna now recognized the letters and that they spelled out her sister's name, E, L, S, A. "Elsa! Yes, that's my sister! She just came through here! Can you help us find her?"

The creatures looked at each other and nodded, then started moving around in a hypnotic circular pattern, chanting, "Un-known, un-known, un-known." A tug at the bottom of her magenta skirt made Anna look down. Another rift was opening just below them, similar to the one they just came through, but it looked smaller and less violent than that one.

The wind increased its pull and with a cry of "woah" from Kristoff, they both started falling through the portal.

Anna gave one last look back at the creatures then focused on the rift they were falling into. "Thank you!" She shouted.

Don't worry Elsa.

We're coming to get you.

They entered the portal and once again, Anna felt as if her body was trying to vibrate itself apart. A bright white light shone on both of them, so intense that it disoriented them and gave them a headache. The noise was deafening and that combined with the other things made Kristoff black out. Anna was better, but she teetered on the edge of unconsciousness when she heard the roaring stop and her back hit something that felt like grass…

In the Alternate Dimension, the Unown were thinking about what had just transpired. The two claimed to be in search of the young woman's sister and wanted to follow her. But, as much as the Unown wished they could help by sending them directly to the woman Elsa, they couldn't. They didn't have that kind of power. Or rather, their power can't be used like that. Plus they had shamefully lost track of the human woman. Things like that happen when the beings of Time and Space battle in your dimension. It was a rushed thing.

The two that just came through believed that they were only a few moments behind the first. But time ran strangely here, and a few moments could be hours or days. Years even. Both going into the future and the past. The Unown didn't know where Elsa was so they couldn't send them to her. They weren't all knowing like the Creation Trio or even the Father himself.

However, they did know somebody that would eventually lead them to her. Destiny would bring them together in time, but they had to be patient. While the damage Dialga and Palkia caused to both the Alternate Dimension and the Pokémon world had lessened, and Giratina had calmed down from his rage, greater powers and terrible evils were about to come soon.

The Unown just hoped they hadn't sent those two humans into too much trouble…

Actually in retrospect, thinking about whom they sent them to, it was probably a foregone conclusion that they would…

In a town that had its quiet and quaint demeanor disturbed recently by an extremist group, a machine in a lab suddenly became active. The constant hum made by it suddenly increased in volume and instruments came to life. Lights turned on after years of non-use and started flickering. Data started poring across the screens at an alarmingly fast rate. Beeping sounds came from different systems and maps of the planet were being shown. Those maps suddenly started getting smaller and closer as the image zoomed in on the ground. It eventually settled and highlighted a spot on the region to the southwest from its current position and started blinking patiently for somebody to check on it.

But nobody did. The doors to the room remained closed, the room itself almost forgotten. After all, it had been years since the room last saw use; the last time was when a scientist brought in strange sample of never melting ice. And there were other things to worry about than the readings of a strange machine that only Dr. Carolina really knew what they were for. So the alert remained ignored, and shortly fell silent, with the image of the location still blinking…

Ash, Brock, and Dawn just had quite the little adventure. The day started off normally, or rather, normally for the vast majority of people who weren't those three, in Canalave City with Ash wanting to get some training done for his upcoming 6th gym battle with Byron, since the gym leader has been gone for a bit on a training exercise. Dawn also wanted to get some training in for her upcoming Pokémon Contest in Chocovine Town, deciding she wanted to use Piloswine for the contest.

However, on the practice field, Piloswine didn't want to listen to Dawn, and started doing its own thing and only reacted when Dawn offered Poffins to it. After they were out, that resulted in a few minutes of being chased around until Brock's disproportionately strong Happiny stopped the rampaging Pokémon dead in its tracks. Piloswine continued to be disobedient and ran off following a delicious aroma, which turned out to be Team Rocket's (rather pathetically small) sponge cake they had made. Piloswine blasted them off again, and ate the cake, but Team Rocket wanted revenge for their ravaged sponge cake and concocted another scheme to get Ash's Pokémon with a "Pokémon Friendship School" to develop the bonds between the trainer and Pokémon. Dawn, eager to bond with her Piloswine, went to this fake course along with Ash and Brock.

Things went as well as could be expected. Team Rocket captured all of their Pokémon, but when they tried to take off in their Meowth balloon, the caged Pokémons' rocking brought it down. The Team Rocket Trio didn't like that so Jessie and James called out Yanmega and Carnivine to attack the captured Pokémon. But those attacks caused Piloswine to evolve, becoming a Mamoswine, which in turn increased its size and broke the cage. Mamoswine then sent Team Rocket blasting off again.

But the newly evolved Mamoswine still didn't listen and charged at the trainers again. After a valiant effort to stop the rampaging Pokémon by Piplup, which unfortunately didn't work, Brock told Dawn to return Mamoswine to its Poké Ball. She barely managed to do so in time.

It is at this point that we join these young trainers…

The giant Mamoswine disappeared in a glow of red light as it got sucked back inside the Poké Ball. Dawn gave a sigh of relief as the stampeding Pokémon was now safely inside the ball. Then she realized that she had one more Pokémon to take tare of. Piplup had taken quite a beating that day and it finally showed. Its eyes were all swirly and unfocused and it was almost out cold.

Dawn came over to the fallen Pokémon and picked it up. "Piplup, are you alright?" She asked it.

Thankfully, the Piplup's eyes refocused and gave a "Piplup," to say 'yes'.

Dawn sighed once more; knowing her first ever Pokémon would be okay. "Piplup, thanks so much! You went the extra mile and did everything you could." She held it tighter in a hug, "But next time, take it a little easier, okay?"

Piplup smiled and returned the hugs "Piplup Piplup!"

Ash and Brock came over to see how things were, but Dawn had a question that had been bugging her the entire day. "Why didn't either Piloswine or Mamoswine listen to me? I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever be good friends…"

Brock spoke up, "You'll have to take it slow," he said reassuringly.

"Come on Dawn, you know, 'no need to worry!'" Ash said, reciting the two's favorite saying. Pikachu, from Ash's shoulder agreed with his trainer.

Dawn cheered up a bit from that and nodded, "Right!" Piplup interrupted, giving a series of calls that undoubtedly were supportive. "You said it Piplup!" The two started laughing, getting over the stress of the day.

It was getting later in the day and the sun was painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange and yellow. Brock noticed the time and said, "We better get back to the Pokémon Center soon."

Ash and Dawn nodded and the three started to walk off eager for a night of rest. Then Pikachu felt something, a ripple of sorts. He didn't know what it was, but it made him feel immediately uneasy. "Pi?" It said, turning around still on Ash's shoulder.

Ash felt Pikachu's unease and asked, "Hey, what's the matter Pikachu?" Pikachu didn't answer because there was another ripple that everyone felt. The grass swished and it made everybody rock back on their heels from an unseen pressure. "Whoa, what was that?" Ash said.

"Beats me." Brock said, shrugging.

At that moment there was a god-awful roaring sound that blasted over the grass field. Ash, Brock, Dawn, Piplup, and Pikachu all covered their eyes to shield themselves from a sudden gust of wind that swept through the area. They all made some sort of exclamation of the sudden disturbance and tried to stay on their feet. Ash pried open one of his eyes to try and see what was making the wind and noise and gasped in surprise. There was a portal hovering over the grass several yards away, emitting a strange aura. There was a bright flash that made Ash cover his eyes again, but then as soon as it came, the wind and roaring stopped, leaving everything in silence.

The gang opened their eyes cautiously and blinked a few times. "What was that?" Dawn asked hesitantly.

Just then, a groaning sound caught their attention. The three humans and the two Pokémon turned to look down at the ground right below where the portal was. Their eyes widened in shock; on the ground were two people, a redheaded girl in a magenta cloak, dark green shirt, and blue skirt, with a big blonde guy dressed in winter attire. They both had remnants of snow on their clothes and both were on their backs on the ground. Only the girl was showing signs of life, as she was the one making the groaning sound.

"Come on!" Ash said to his friends, and ran forward without thinking about what could happen; unquestionably ready to help somebody who seemed to be in need. That was Ash Ketchum for you: running headfirst into problems without the slightest care because he knew what was the right thing to do and what was the wrong thing to do. An inherent goodness in his heart that makes him want to help everybody.

They came over and kneeled down next to the two new arrivals. Brock went to check the blond man and Ash and Dawn went to check the girl. Both of the mystery people were older than Ash and Dawn, while Brock was only a year or two behind in age by the looks of it. The girl had a face that was riddled with freckles and was slightly rosy, which could have been caused by exposure to the cold.

"Hey, are you alright?" Ash asked the woman.

She groaned again and her blue eyes fluttered open. "Ugh. Notat til deg slev: ikke gjøre det igjen."*1 Her statement confused everybody around her and the group didn't really have a reply for her, since they couldn't understand her.

"Uhh, are you alright?" Dawn asked this time.

"Huh? Oh, Engelsk." The woman shook her head slightly, "I think so," she said in English as she held her hand in front of her face. "Umm, what am I looking at? Are you above me? Oh, I guess you are, I'm on my back." She tried sitting up but her eyes glazed over and Dawn needed to catch her before she fell backwards.

"Take it easy there ma'am." Dawn said, "Do you remember what happened to you?"

"I think so? Yes? You see, this might sound a little crazy but, you know, I get that a lot so it doesn't bother me as- OH MY GOD, KRISTOFF!" She suddenly shouted causing Ash and Dawn to fall backwards in surprise. The redhead rolled over to the blond man who they guessed was Kristoff. "Kristoff! Wake up! Don't do this to me ice man, wake up! Why aren't you waking up?" She was about to slap the man when Brock interfered, grabbing her hand before any damage could be done.

"Easy there ma'am, he's just unconscious. He's perfectly fine and should wake up any moment now." Brock said in a calm voice, trying to subdue the redhead woman. By some miracle, he wasn't going 'gaga' over her like he did with every other woman he laid his… eyes? on. Probably because of the seriousness of the situation.

As if on cue, the man started groaning as well, then his eyes flickered open.

"Vel, skjedde det."*2 He said in that other language. He took in the sight of the girl practically on top of him with her hand ready to slap somebody, but being held back by Brock. "Greit Anna, hva gikk jeg glipp av?"*3 He said, sounding amused.

The girl, Anna, sighed in relief and hugged the man. "Oh thank God, I'm glad you're alright."

"Huh, Engelsk? Okay. Well then feisty-pants, I've said it before; I've got a thick skull. I'll be fine." They enjoyed their moment together, well, almost alone.

"Uhh, so can you tell us what happened to you?" Ash asked. The two newcomers suddenly realized that they had company. They quickly stood up, or as quickly as they could at that moment. They took in the strange way the three people were dressed and decided not to comment on it. Just yet anyway.

"Ah, so that's why we're speaking English." The man said. The two looked at each other for a moment and silently agreed on something before the girl said, "Well, this might sound a little bit crazy, well actually it might sound a lot crazy, but I think we went through a rip, or tear, or portal thingy and wound up here."

"Portal?" Ash asked confused.

"Yea, one moment we're in this strange place with these creatures that looked like letters, and the moment before we were in my sister's ice palace before she got pulled into the same portal thingy and we followed her…" She trailed off and looked around as she remembered something. "Hey, did somebody else come through before us?"

"Uhh, no. You two were the only ones." Brock said.

"Oh no! We have to find Elsa!" The girl said to the blonde man.

"Easy there Anna, one step at a time. Lets find out where we are first." The man said to Anna. He turned to the group and then asked, "Were are we?"

"We're in Canalave City." Dawn said.

"Can-cave city?"

"Canalave." Dawn said again.

"Oh okay, and where is this city?" Anna asked.

"Umm, in the Sinnoh region." Ash said.

"Sinnoh?" Anna asked.

"Uh, yes?" Ash said puzzled as to why the two looked so confused at the name.

"And where is that?" The man asked.

The Ash, Dawn, and Brock looked at the two like they must have hit their heads harder than they thought. "You don't know where Sinnoh is?" The native girl asked.

"Nope!" Anna said, "Do you know how far away are we from Arendelle?"

"Aren-what?" Ash said.

"Arendelle, you know, the kingdom in Norway? Ruled by the Snow Queen?" Blank stares all around. "Maybe we're farther away than we thought." She muttered to herself.

"Are you alright?" Dawn asked. Maybe they did hit their heads or something, she thought.

The girl, Anna, humphed and said, "Yes of course we are."

"Speak for yourself." The man muttered, "My head is still ringing from your shouting earlier."

"Oh quiet down ice man, let a princess handle this." The man smothered a snort as Anna shot him a warning look.

"Uhh, maybe we should start at the beginning." Brock said.

"Ooh, there's an idea!" Anna said, she then straightened up more and said, "How 'bout some introductions to start with? I'm Anna, Princess of Arendelle, and this is Kristoff Bjorgman, Arendelle's Official Ice Master and Deliverer."

"Princess?" Ash, Brock, and Dawn exclaimed.

"Uhh, yea? Anyway, what're your names?" Anna asked nonplussed at their reactions.

"Uhh, my name's Dawn Berlitz, your highness." Dawn said, remembering royal etiquette from she's seen on the television.

"Oh, yea, forget about calling me 'your highness' and all that, I'm not that kind of princess." Anna said with a kind smile.

"Anna my dear, my name is Brock Slate, and you are every kind of princess that a guy could ever hope for. Your charms are only fit for royalty. And I, your handsome, dashing prince, will- gack!" You could all guess who that was. Brock's 'intro' speech was cut short once again by his own Pokémon, Croagunk, with a well-placed Poison Jab. "Will… now need… pain medicine…" Brock moaned on the ground. Croagunk then just laughed/croaked to itself and dragged a whimpering Brock to Mew knows where.

Anna and Kristoff both looked on with different reactions on their faces. Both had surprise, but that was where it ended. Kristoff looked on with incredulity and slight jealous anger at Brock's actions. Anna was just plain confused at what happened. Did a purple frog just drag him away?

Ash and Dawn just stood there grinning awkwardly like every time this happened. Honestly, they barely even flinch anymore when this happens.

"Sorry 'bout that." Ash said. "Anyway, my name's Ash Ketchum." Pikachu jumped on his shoulder. "And this is my buddy Pikachu!" Ash said, petting his trusted partner's head.

"Chu!" Pikachu said in greeting.

Anna and Kristoff's attention moved to the yellow rodent on the kid's shoulder. "Awww, what's that?" Anna asked, slightly worried but interested in the cuteness of the creature.

"That's Pikachu." Ash repeated.

"But what is it?" Anna said getting closer to the strange creature. Pikachu started getting uncomfortable with the stares the two were giving him. It's like they've never seen a Pikachu before, he thought.

"It's a Pikachu." Ash repeated, "You've never seen a Pikachu before?"

Anna and Kristoff shook their heads. "Nope. Have to say though, he looks kinda' cute." Anna said and rubbed Pikachu's head, eliciting a pleased 'cha' from it.

"If I may," Brock said, suddenly reappearing as if nothing had happened, "what kind of Pokémon do you have back in your home?"

"Pokémon?" Kristoff asked.

"Oh yea," Dawn said, "If you don't have Pikachus, then what other Pokémon do you have?"

Anna and Kristoff shared another glance at each other before mutually shrugging. "We… don't know what Pokémon are." He said plainly.

"What?" The three exclaimed, "You don't know what Pokémon are?"

"Yea, that's what he just said. Are they a type of animal here?" Anna said.

"They're the creatures that inhabit this world." Brock said, still trying to figure out a way to tell these two what Pokémon are.

"Ah. Well, I can honestly say that I've never seen a Pikachu before. And is that another Pokémon?" Anna asked, pointing to Piplup.

"Yes, this is my partner Piplup!" Dawn said, earning a 'Pip Lup!' from the Pokémon in question.

"It's so cute!" Anna said and rushed over, plucking the Pokémon from Dawn's arms and giving it a giant hug. Piplup was squished for a few seconds before Anna got control over herself again and gave Piplup back to Dawn. "He he, sorry, had to do it." She said sheepishly.

Dawn gave a light laugh, "Ah, no need to worry, it's fine." Piplup gave its acceptance as well.

"Anyway, getting back to what we were talking about," Kristoff said, "we don't have Pokémon where we're from, but that one looks like a blue penguin, so maybe it's just different types of animals from Arendelle. I'm sure the books don't have every animal known to man. We could be somewhere farther away than we know. Do you know what the closest country from here is?" Kristoff asked the trio.

"Uhh, let's see," Brock pondered, with a finger on his chin, recalling his geography. "The Kanto region is the closest, followed by Johto, then Hoenn."

"Nope, none of those names are ringing any bells. How about mainland Europe?" There was a shaking of heads. "America?" More shakes. "Okay… Asia?" Kristoff said slowly earning more shakes. "I guess we're farther away than we thought."

"Or maybe we're not on our world anymore!" Anna gasped excitedly. "Think of it, that tear portal thing was definitely not from this world-"

"Unless it was magic," Kristoff interjected.

"Unless it was magic," Anna agreed, "But then it brought us here," She said continuing, "and they have these new creatures and dress far differently than I could think off. What other explanation is there?"

Kristoff opened his mouth to reply, but thought better of it. He was silent for a moment, then shrugged. "Okay, sure, fine. We're in another world. So what caused that thing in the first place?"

"Absolutely no idea." Anna turned to the trio. "Do you have any ideas?"

"Uhh, for what?" Ash asked.

"For what caused that portal thingy."

"I don't know. I didn't get a good glimpse of it." Ash admitted.

"Any idea of what could cause something like this?" Kristoff asked.

Brock and Ash shared a look. This being their fourth region they've traveled together in, the possibilities were countless. "Too many things. Trust us, we've been around." Brock said.

"Well that's helpful." Kristoff muttered sarcastically and then winced when Anna elbowed him in the ribs.

"Kristoff, be polite, they're trying to help." Anna hissed. She turned back to the trio, "Okay, since we don't know what that portal thingy was, let's forget about that for now. We're here now, so…" Anna trailed off for a moment as she looked around. She saw that they were in a park of sorts, which wasn't out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary were the strange structures that were poking above the tree line. Kristoff noticed this as well and was looking around with Anna.

"Oooo-kay, yea, we're definitely not in Arendelle anymore." Anna said with some growing nervousness in her voice, as the situation was finally catching up to her.

"Maybe we should go to the Pokémon Center." Dawn said. "There might be more help for you there."

"Plus we won't have to stand up while doing it," Brock added. "We could get you a room to stay in until you have figured out what you're going to do." But then he frowned in thought. "But that would require you to have some identification, which if you're not from this world, might be a problem."

"Couldn't we call Professor Rowan? He might be able to help in this case." Dawn said.

"You're right!" Ash exclaimed, then explained to the two newcomer's blank faces, "Professor Rowan is the head of Pokémon research in the Sinnoh region, and he's the one that gives you your Pokédex at the beginning of your journey, which has identification on it."

Kristoff nodded slowly. "Okay, I like what I'm hearing even if I don't understand half of it. What's a Pokédex?"

In response Ash and Dawn pulled out theirs and flipped them on. Anna and Kristoff's eyes bugged out at the contraptions. "What are those?" Kristoff asked.

"Those are our Pokédexes. They're a trainer's most valued possession, not counting our Pokémon of course, you can't really count them as possessions." Ash said ending with a grin as he rubbed Pikachu's head. "They have our identification and they also record how many Pokémon we've seen and caught."

"But-but how do they work? It just lit up as it opened! And the picture is moving!" Anna exclaimed as the screen was shifting through different colors as it was on standby.

"Yea, that's technology." Ash's statement earned incredulous stares from the two of them. "Uhh, what?"

"Technology can make pictures move?" Anna said in awe.

Kristoff was the first to get over the momentary shock. "Okay, it seems that there is more than we can understand at this moment. How about we go and do that idea with the identification with the professor and room at the place before anything else."

"Sounds good to me." Anna said. "I think we'll need to take small steps first."

"Alright then, follow us and we'll get to the Center soon." Brock said. The five of them started walking out of the park, with Dawn next to Anna and Brock and Ash next to Kristoff.

"So once we mail this professor, how long will it take to get a letter back from him?" Kristoff asked.

"Oh, we're not going to mail him, we're going to talk to him." Brock said.

"So he's here then?" Anna asked.

"No we're going to video call him on one of the phones at the PokéCenter."

"You're going to what on the what at the what now?"

"We're going to call him." Ash said.

"But how are you going to call him if he's not here?" Kristoff said.

"By phone." Dawn said.

"Okay, so… what's a phone?" Anna asked.

The two got blank stares again. "You don't know what a phone is?" Dawn asked.

"If we did we wouldn't be asking." Kristoff pointed out.

"Fair enough." Brock said. "A phone is a device that we use to talk to other people that aren't near us. If you have their number, you can call them relatively anywhere, as long as you have a signal."

"Wait," Anna said, "You can talk to other people who could be anywhere instantly?" When Brock nodded, Anna said, "Whoa, that's incredible! Just think Kristoff, no more waiting for letters to reach you when you could just talk to them wherever!"

"And who are you going to call then if you could?" Kristoff asked amusedly at Anna's enthusiasm.

"Well I could call you, or Elsa, or, oh! my cousin Rapunzel in Corona! That's three right there."

"True, but I don't have one of those phones, and if we are in another world, it'll be hard to call Rapunzel."

"But what about Elsa?" Anna asked.

"Well we should find her first." Kristoff pointed out.

"Oh, okay. That'll probably be better."

At this point the five of them had been walking for a bit and were now in the middle of the city. Anna and Kristoff were looking around at everything and anything. This is so different than Arendelle, Anna thought. Everything looks… different, but the same? Does that make sense? It's almost familiar, but it's not. Maybe it's because everything is the same, except, I don't know, more advanced? And the people are dressed so differently than in Arendelle. And those four wheeled metal things, what are they? They don't have anything pulling or pushing them, yet they're going faster than I could imagine. Whatever they are I like them.

Kristoff had differing lines of thought, but mostly along similar lines. This place looks completely different from anything I've seen before. Those signs are lit up from inside. Do they have torches in them? And the people… his mental thoughts crashed a moment. Did… did that woman have green hair? And for that matter, why does Dawn have blue hair? He blinked. I guess this place is stranger than I thought.

Eventually they came to a building that had a bright red roof on it. "Well, here we are, the Pokémon Center for Canalave City." Dawn announced. She walked to the glass doors and they opened by themselves! Anna and Kristoff looked around again in amazement at the interior of the Center. There were lights on the ceiling that weren't flame based, and the furniture was made out of unrecognizable material.

While Anna and Kristoff were aweing the building, Ash and Dawn went up to Nurse Joy. "Excuse me, Nurse Joy?" Dawn asked.

"Yes, what can I help you with dear?" The pink haired nurse asked.

"Is there an available video phone that we can use?"

"Certainly, help yourselves."

"Thank you!" Ash said, then the two headed back. "Alright, let's contact Professor Rowan and get you two some ID's."

"Okay, thank you so much for this." Anna said. "I know we just met and our story is, frankly, a little weird, but you're still helping us for some reason and thank you again." Anna finished.

Ash chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, "It's no problem, really. We're glad to help out." That got affirmatives from Brock and Dawn.

"Alright, I'll call the Professor." Dawn said as she sat down at a videophone and keyed the Professor's number in. Kristoff and Anna watched in fascination as the black window started glowing and an odd ringing/buzz sound was heard.

Suddenly the window flickered and lit up, then transformed into a picture that was moving! It showed the face of an older man with white grey hair and a big mustache. His eyes were a grey blue color and he was wearing a brown coat. In the background there was a wall with windows and some metal thing off to the side.

"Sandgem Town Pokémon Lab, Professor Rowan speaking. What can I do for you?" The man's voice was gruff and down to the point.

"Hi Professor! It's Ash, Brock and I." Dawn said cheerily.

"Ah, good to see you again all of you. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Well, you see Professor, that's kinda' a long story."

"Oh?"

Ash took over at this point. "Well, a little while ago we met two people with…uh…" And then he immediately gave the point over to Brock with a glance.

"With no identification. They're not from around here and we were wondering if you could help make some identifications for them."

"Who are these people?" Rowan asked.

The three of them shifted so that Anna and Kristoff were visible to him. "Ah, hello… there, Professor Rowan right?" Anna said weakly.

"That is correct. Professor Rowan of the Sinnoh Region, specializing in Pokémon evolution." Rowan said neutrally.

"Hi, my name's Pri- I mean Anna, just Anna." Almost blew it right there telling him that I'm a princess of a kingdom, or is it a queendom because Elsa's the one that runs it, anyway, a princess of a place that may or may not exist, she thought. "And this is Kristoff." Anna motioned to the blond mountain man beside her who gave a 'hello' to the moving picture.

"So you two need to have new IDs then?" Rowan looked towards the trio and said, "How long have you known them?"

Everyone got understandably nervous at that question. "Ah, well, we just met them today about an hour ago." Dawn said hesitantly.

"I see." Rowan said, then looked at Anna and Kristoff. "Well you two should count yourselves fortunate. If you had met anyone else other than these three then you wouldn't have had any success at all." Everyone breathed a sigh of relief at those words. At the other end Rowan hid a smile at their palpable relief. "Now then, I have the ability to register your IDs, but some of it you'll have to do at a Pokémon Center."

"We're in one now." Dawn said, and moved out of the seat, letting Anna take it first.

"Excellent. Now give me a moment while I get on the database." Rowan turned out of sight for a moment and the faint clacking of keys was heard. The view shifted and it now had the Professor facing a computer screen. "Alright, first off though, you'll each need to take a picture of yourselves."

"Uhh, how do I do that?" Anna said.

"Here I'll show you." Brock said. He pressed a few keys and Rowan's picture shrunk down and the screen now mostly reflected the PokéCenter, with Anna in the fore shot. "When you're ready, smile, look at this," Brock pointed to the camera built in to the machine, "and press this key to take the picture."

Anna was a bit unsure at how this worked, but followed Brock's instructions. She smiled and there was a 'click' sound. "Alright, now your friend next." Rowan said. Kristoff took the seat and repeated the picture process. Once he was finished, Rowan said, "Now that I have your pictures, I'll need some basic information. Once were done, Nurse Joy should help you with the rest of it. Now what's your first name?"

Since Kristoff was sitting first, he answered, "Kristoff."

"And you young lady?"

"Uhh Anna." She said over Kristoff's shoulder.

"Last?"

"Bjorgman" Kristoff answered.

"Linjal." When Anna was motioned to say so. When she did, Prof. Rowan frowned a moment then turned to look at Anna.

"Linjal you said?"

"Uhh yea, that's my last name." Anna said confused.

Rowan looked thoughtful for a moment and said, "Sorry, a passing thought. Now, what are your ages?"

"I'm twenty-one."*4

"I'm eighteen right now." Anna said.

"Birthdays?"

"Mine is on August 19th."

"I'm June 21st."

Rowan did the math and figured out their years. "City of birth?" He asked next. At this both of them hesitated and looked at each other.

"And that's where we hit our problem." Anna muttered. Rowan heard this however.

"What's the matter?" He asked.

"Well…" Anna hesitated again, "the thing is is that we're not sure if our city exists."

"What do you mean?" Rowan asked, confused.

"When we meant that we're not from around here, we're literally not from around here. As in, we're not from this world."

At Rowan's raised eyebrows Anna hurriedly explained. "Not as in like we're aliens or something, because that would be, ha ha, strange and totally weird, but no like we're from a different world or something, where things are sorta the same, but different."

"Excuse me, Anna?" Rowan interrupted Anna's tirade. "If I'm correct, I think what you're trying to say is that you're from a parallel world."

"I… think so? I can tell you that there aren't any Pokémon from where we're from."

Rowan's eyebrows were scrunched together in thought. This conversation is reminding me of something similar, but I can't exactly remember what, he thought to himself. "So tell me, what's the name of your city." He said.

"It's called Arendelle."

Rowan turned to his computer and typed in the name, then frowned. "According to the database, there's a town in the Kalos region that goes by the same name."

"But…" Kristoff started, "that's not right. There shouldn't be an Arendelle here, unless by chance."

Rowan was searching something on his computer. "There's one registered trainer from this town, going by an 'Elsa' with Anna's last name."

Anna gasped, "That's my sister!" she practically shouted.

Rowan now remembered that day long ago, when she met the woman, escorted by one of his favorite trainers. "I remember now," he said. "She came to me in exactly the same situation with her friend Cynthia."

"Cynthia?" Ash said, "You mean the Champion?"

Rowan chuckled, "Well it was before she became the Sinnoh Champion, but yes, the very same."

"Can you tell me where she is now?" Anna asked, practically pleading.

He shook his head, "Unfortunately what I have only shows her trainer status. You should be happy to know that she's at an Elite level as a trainer."

Ash gasped out "Whoa," as Kristoff asked, "What does that mean?"

Brock answered, "It means that she's at the level of the Elite Four in terms of strength, who are the toughest trainers just underneath the Champion. She must be pretty strong in order to get that ranking. I myself am only an Ace level trainer, still being a registered Gym Leader."

Okay, trainers, Gyms, Champions, I'll have to ask about all that later, Anna thought. This is getting to be a bit too much right now. "Okay, that's nice, but is there any way to find out where she is?"

"Unfortunately I don't have access to anything that can do that." Rowan said. "The best you can do is ask around."

Oh we'll do that, Anna thought to herself. She audibly sighed, "All right, if that's the best you can do."

Rowan nodded and after a moment of silence said, "Let's get back to the IDs then. Only two more things to do." He looked at both of them and said, "Kristoff, blond with brown eyes, and Anna with red and blue eyes." He finished typing it up on the computer and said, "Alright, now all that's left is for you two to get measured and weighted. Just ask Nurse Joy to do that for you and she'll print out the cards for you."

"Okay, thank you for everything Professor Rowan." Anna said with a half bow to the screen window… thing.

"You are welcome. Please feel free to contact me whenever you need to. Goodbye."

The group said their goodbyes and the screen went blank again. They all paused at the amount of information that was delivered in such a short time. Dawn was the first to get out of the temporary funk they were in. "Alright, let's finish the ID cards then we can go get a room for you two."

"Okay, that sounds like a plan." Kristoff said. The group moved to the front desk. When he caught a glimpse of the woman behind the counter he frowned and said, "Does she have… pink hair?"

"Yep," Brock replied, "and it's all natural. Every beautiful woman in the Joy family has the same hair, and those lovely eyes, and the way she moves is just…" Brock paused as he noticed Croagunk out of the corner of his… eyes? his vision, ready for a Poison Jab. "Okay I'm done." He said to the Pokémon. Croagunk gave him the stink eye before going back into his Poké Ball. Brock gave a sigh of relief. Sometimes I wonder why I keep Croagunk around, he thought to himself.

The group reached the counter and Ash got the attention of Nurse Joy, "Excuse me?"

"Yes? Oh!" She said, slightly surprised at the group in front of her.

"Um, these two," Ash said, pointing to Kristoff and Anna, "need to get their ID cards and finish up a few things."

"Certainly, follow me." Joy said, and led them into the back room. "Do you already have IDs registered?" She asked.

"They do, they just need to get their height and weight." Dawn answered.

"Good, that'll be easy enough. Please step over here." Anna went first. Once Nurse Joy pulled up Anna's information, she imputed her height and weight, and then did the same for Kristoff. "Now just a moment while I get your cards."

She went over to another machine and waited a moment. There was two whirrs and then she came back carrying two cards. She handed them to Anna and Kristoff. "Here you are Miss. Linjal and Mr. Bjorgman, your ID cards. Make sure not to lose these."

"Don't worry, we wont." Anna replied as she took hers.

"Good, now I suppose you two want a room together?" Joy asked.

"That would be great, thank you." Kristoff said.

"Very well." She led them out of the room and then pulled a key out of the desk. "Here's your room key. The rooms are just down the hall and upstairs."

"Thank you." Kristoff said.

"Great! You got the room across from ours." Dawn said.

"That's good," Anna said, "that means we'll get the chance to talk about some things."

"Alright then, let's go!" Ash said, and led the group up the stairs.

The day was not over yet, and there were still many things that needed to be discussed.

Rowan sighed as the video call ended. That could have turned out more dangerous than it did, he thought. I never thought that after all these years I would be doing the same thing for a cross-dimensional traveler again. Again. As if one expects there to be a first, let alone three, he thought amusedly.

He turned to look at his computer screen, thankful that it was facing away from the video camera because there wouldn't have been any way to hide the information that came on there. While he told the truth to them, he hadn't told the entirety of it. Not that he couldn't, it just would be unnecessary work and raise all sorts of alarms from the Pokémon Leagues, Interpol, and the G-Men, the last one especially.

The page had gone back to Elsa's and more than half of it was covered in 'Classified' blocks, which the Professor knew exactly why they were there and who put them there. He knew since he had talked to both Elsa and Lance about what she represented. A human force of nature, stronger than any Psychic or Aura user ever. If the wrong people were to ever gain her as an ally… Not only that, but her existence is proof of alternate dimensions and parallel worlds. If word of that got out to the wrong people, especially the likes of Team Galactic, the results could be catastrophic since they seem obsessed with that sort of thing.

There's usually a reason information is classified, and those are excellent reasons, he thought. He grabbed his coffee cup and took a sip, grimacing when he found out that it was cold. He moved to the microwave and started to reheat the coffee, thinking about the necessary steps needed.

I should contact Professor Carolina. Her granddaughter is the one that first met Elsa, and I believe that she's looking into the dimensional travel situation for Elsa. I should inform her that there were more of them. The next part he hesitated at. I… should contact the G-Men about Anna and Kristoff, but nothing has happened yet, so I don't really have any reason to. I'll wait and see if anything big happens.

He felt a little sad that he couldn't say where Elsa was. One: he didn't know, and two, if he did he couldn't say anyway as it was further classified. The higher ups were keeping close watch on her after that incident on the Sevii Islands. Being friends with Cynthia helped smooth things over though somewhat, so that was good.

Another thing was that he really didn't have the heart to tell them how far behind her sister they were in getting here.

Some things couldn't be said by video call.

He took a sip of his newly heated coffee. I'll contact Carolina tomorrow, he vowed to himself.

Things are going to get interesting in Sinnoh. That he was sure of.

*1: Note to self: don't do that again.

*2: Well, that happened.

*3: All right Anna, what did I miss?

*4: Kristoff is sorta the same age as Elsa. His birthday and Elsa's overlap for a few months so they would be the same year old. Technically Elsa is older.

*6: In the anime cannon, only Ash has a last name. I gave one to both Brock and Dawn in this story, just like Anna and Elsa.

*7: Trainer rankings: Rookie, Beginner, Proficient, Expert, Ace, Veteran, Elite, Champion, Master. Ash is borderline Expert/Ace teamwise right now and Ace in experience with forays into Veteran. Gym Leaders are usually Ace-Veteran with most of them in the Veterans. Volkner is almost Elite since he did (or will) challenge the Elite Four. To be a Master means to catch all of the Pokémon (excluding Legendries) and beat the Champions of each region, a feat that no one has done before. There are sub-categories of each class (Except Rookie).

Okay that was a lot of end notes, but some of it is things I wanted to explain and how I think things work in the Pokémon world.

Thanks for your sticktoit-iveness on this story. It's gonna' be a bumpy ride!

Next time, Explanations, shopping, TRio attacks, and one of the newcomers gets their first Pokémon! (not saying who or what).
Be on watch for Chapter 15: New Places, Old Faces Pt.2, coming soon! (Within the month at least. Heh... heh.)

As always, Read, Review, Favorite, Follow. (R.R.F.F)
