Artemis's Bow - Calico will never leave Nutcracker alone. Just keep that in mind ;).
Also I have urgent news for all of you before you read this. URGENT! Got your attention? Okay. Well I've challenged myself on completing this fan fic in three months so I can post another story. For all of you that are wondering it's a The Cat Returns fanfiction that the ship has simply sunk my mind. Wish me luck with the goal and hope you enjoy this. Oh before I forget this does get very confusing, sorry.
I could name every single one of the performers. But what fun would that be? Here are what the Others saw:
But suddenly a woman came running in with a flier. She ran in and sat down. Everyone seemed to notice but that wasn't the most interesting thing that was happening.
In a puff of red smoke the ring master stood on his hands and as the smoke turned green he landed on his knees.
Orchestra music began to play. He danced in a whimsical way. And when his little dance was up he gestured high into the air. The music switched to something more mystic and adventurous. A few high vocals accompanied it.
On the screens there was a close up on the man in white tights using a pole in order to walk on a tightrope.
The audience oohed and aahed at the spectacle.
The man only made it to the middle when the rope began to wiggle, wiggle, WIGGLE! The man lost his balance and fell.
The woman stood suddenly and gasped loudly along with the audience as the man plummeted down onto the dirt floor below.
The monitors followed him and down he went farther, closer to the floor.
The crowd watched in horror as he hit the floor and disappeared. The crowd looked to the monitors and saw that there was a swirling vortex of dust and sand swallow the young acrobat.
I hadn't expected that. I gasped along with the crowd and looked around for Mistre. But he was nowhere to be seen.
The girl that had ran in, charged the stage and jumped into the ring. The ground that had swallowed the acrobat collapsed from under her feet as well and she too fell through the ground. The flier still clutched tightly in her hand.
The lights came up and the crowd looked around in horror. What on earth had they just witnessed?
Some of the people moved to get up. Some even screamed and began to panicky move towards the exits not knowing who was next to fall through the floor. Some stood on top of the tables and look frantically around for a safe way to more out of the tent without touching the ground. Some remained frozen in their seats. Shock evident on each face.
What just happened?
A gentleman stood and seemed to try to move his sweetheart to the flap of the tent as all who had previously helped usher them in had vanished.
But the girl wouldn't move. Her eyes glued to a monitor that had been forgotten, "No," She whispered, "Look!" She stood and cried loudly gesturing wildly to the monitor.
The girl's gentleman looked and saw what she did, "Calm down. I believe it was all part of the show!" He called, "Come, sit back down and let's see what happens."
The couple sat back down calmly and as a few more did the same, though with a bit more stiffness than the couple the rest seemed to follow suit.
When all were seated again the lights went dark and a lot of people screamed. The seats jerked around and around and more people let loose some rather interesting noises.
What in this world is Mistre playing at? I couldn't hold back a screaming yelp as my seat jerked. Nutcracker's strange but warm hands found my shoulders. Man was I glad people seemed to listen to him or I would have looked like a fool.
A voice came on, "Greetings, captive audience. Hello, bonjour, hallo, and salutations. Come and join us as we share a special story with you that is close to the heart of this circus. Sit back, enjoy, and let us amaze you!" The voice concluded as more orchestra music sounded. The melody a bit Celtic.
The lights went up a bit and a huge red curtain was now visible. A small hunched over clown whose gray-yellow hair was in an upheaval like he'd just been electrocuted. He wore a worn out black tux. The girl that had fallen through the floor walked out and the clown looked a bit like one you may see in a horror movie the way he turned.
But instead of having a malicious, murderous look. He looked to be quite surprised, intrigued, and amused by the girl that stood before him. He bowed low to her with a silly little grin on his makeup-ed face.
The girl seemed a bit unnerved at first but then remembered her flyer. The flyer had a picture of the aerialist that had went down. This seemed to solidify her resolve and she marched up to the now confused and slightly melancholy clown as he took the flyer nodding solemnly. The clown seemed to sense her distress and determination.
The clown took the paper and looked at it. His painted eyebrows giving him the appearance of always thinking.
Then he handed the paper back to her and started laughing as if she was a fulfillment to a prophecy that had finally decided to show up.
Regaining some of that creepy clown feel he bent backwards, still laughing as the curtain was pulled away giving an appearance of bloodied water
The clown stopped laughing abruptly and grabbed the girl's arm and pulled her along fear now evident on his face as he tore off the stage.
The curtain disappeared. On the monitor it was now visible and was being pulled back a second time and a pool of water immerged. Blue as ice and shimmering with purple.
Two zebras came prancing up onto the stage and performed a small bow and then dashed away from each other as if their little ritual was suddenly disturbed.
From the back the girl and clown could be seen again fear still evident on the clown's face as he looked frantically, yet gracefully around. He took long high leaps as he ran from an unseen presence.
The water suddenly turned red erupted and spiked legs sprang up. It created a look as if something of a sea monster was lurking in the water.
The clown and girl seemed to be moving along in a bog. At least that's what it certainly appeared to look like. Trying to keep quiet and away from the water.
The legs began a dance as the red water splashed and made it look like the water was turning into a frenzy.
The clown took giant, high leaps as he pulled the girl along around the water's edge. Then he pulled her to a stop as if he saw something and didn't want her to run that way.
The monster(s) in the water were suddenly given a face. Red sirens it seemed they portrayed as they splashed violently around.
The clown pointed out across the water, he seemed to speak to her, telling her that that was where they needed to be. But then he heard something and his head snapped in the direction of seven small men came running out of the fog in a formation. The seven men resembled soldiers, clad in red and tight helmets on their heads. Making them appear uniform and as one.
The seven soldiers ran at them. Their faces expressionless.
That reminds me of when we were attacked by rats!
The clown backed away from them and jerked the girl along with him. The soldiers chased after them as the sirens sunk back into the water.
As the girl and clown cleared the stage, managing to get away from the soldiers, barely as they still gave chase.
The water still bubbled and the siren's scaly suits could be seen going into a tight circle as a ladder from nowhere was lowered.
Hanging from the ladder was the young acrobat that had fallen through the floor.
The crowd gasped.
The sirens shrieked.
The aerialist looked up to see two men above him, looking very much like the soldiers that had chased away the clown and girl.
The aerialist looked to be slipping, growing closer to the hungry sirens.
The ladder was yanked up and he fell right into the middle of the circle.
The sirens swarmed him gripping him and he was dragged down into the water.
Suddenly as it happened he disappeared. The sirens leapt from the water and began a ritualistic dance, slapping the water and forming a semi-circle around the watering hole. The center one slapped the water one more time as another curtain opened to reveal…
A man surrounded by men on horses?
Did the scene just change? Because they don't look like they're in the swamp anymore.
The sirens leapt back into the water and disappeared.
The clown and girl came walking out, the clown still guiding her.
The clown walked to a man asleep on a step and woke him. He motioned for the girl to come to him, to meet the man. He was dressed in golden cloths like an Arabic prince.
A white feathery girl moved around him like that was his wife.
She showed the man the flyer of the aerialist. Sadly the man wasn't able to help her.
The clown led her away as he glanced back at the men and women as he pushed her away.
They now seemed to be at another body of water. Something like a little community. The horses were wading in the water and a few of the people held themselves in a formal way. The horses and a few white-pink clad acrobats seemed to be providing entertainment for a court of some sort.
The man that had been surrounded by the horses now stood behind the two that looked to be maybe an Arabic prince and princess. Like he was their body guard.
The pink acrobats balanced off each other above the water, to sweet cello music, as a women clad in black and gold moved around playing one. Her hair poofy and black.
Suddenly on the water the girl and clown could be scene riding a white umbrella. The clown pointed out showing the girl something as the acrobat's preformed their act. Seeming to defy gravity.
The clown and girl floated out on the umbrella into the water. It sailed around the edge of the water the clown pointing out the various people as they performed solo or duet dances.
The pink acrobats started swinging on their trapeze as the clown and girl floated off out of sight.
The zebras (as well as several other animals) and guards watched the scene as the water bubbled. One of the acrobats feet left the bar as it looked like she was about to dive into the water. Her partner caught her by her feet with her feet as they continued to swing. The soon found themselves back beside each other and after a moment of spinning around the bar they let go and fell into the water.
The guards bowed and the performance of the acrobats was signaled to be at its end. But the prince and princess had disappeared. Along with their body guard.
The zebra's ran off with a little bit of horror.
I had to make sure I found my breath again.
The lights on stage were dim, and it was hard to tell what was happening then. People, women came dressed in gold outfits that resembled that of Egyptian gods, as they walked into the water. Each having a long hair piece.
Ropes were lowered and the women spun and grabbed them. They swam to the edge with them and handed them to the red robed men with white hair, who took them and in an organized line walked away with them.
The women swam back.
The curtains were blue and a ship could be seen above the water.
The men on the ship one of them was the body guard the rest looked to be like a band of barbarian soldiers. Providing entertainment for the rest of the crew. Another man on the opposite end of the ship looked to be very similar to the guards on the ground.
The ship swayed violently as there seemed to be something like a storm had hit the ship, making some of the crew nearly fall into the water. The body guard as well as the others were able to keep them on but in the end most of the crew was swept away into the water. Those that were left hung on the ropes and the ship stopped its swaying.
The red guards disappeared and the prince is seen in the middle. Looking surprised to see the crew members with him.
He turns to the ship to see the rest of the crew and his own bodyguard fall into the water.
The scene shifted again. Was the prince dead? I let out a breath but then sucked another in as fire ignited the stage.
Near the water's edge a masked man was twirling a stick of fire in a long circle. A man behind him sat in a lawn chair with a newspaper.
No joke there was a dude with a newspaper, casually reading it. I was so confused.
The prince was hiding in some tall weeds as he watched in horror at the man with fire.
The man in red from the ship came up behind the man with fire and the man with the newspaper's pant leg was on fire. Though he didn't seem to notice.
The prince walked out looking around, confused. He saw suddenly behind the men silhouettes. He watched dumbfounded at the scene.
A woman and man greeted each other and the man pointed to the woman's posy. It was holding a prisoner and the man's guards ran at prisoner and snatched him away, pushing him to the man.
The man had high shoes on and something like a mask. A long white robe and high collar made him appear to be a villain.
The prisoner struggled as he was pushed to the man's side.
The prince recognized the prisoner to be the young aerialist from the flyer the girl had given him. He turned to the fire man and red clad man.
Fire Man however seemed a little distracted. His stick had been taken away from him by the red clad man and he was taking it away following the masked man. So he picked up another stick and lit it with the fire from the clown holding the newspaper.
The fire man swung the fire around nearly burning the prince, who dodged it gracefully. The prince rolled away, realizing he'd seen too much as the fire man chased after him whipping the fire around.
The prince was able to dodge all the attacks.
A figure in the water sprung up and splashed some water on the fire that had gotten too close to the pond.
The fire man lit the clown's chair on fire and went back to chasing the prince.
This was actually getting amusing.
Suddenly the fire leapt on the newspaper's top.
The fire man suddenly noticed the red clad man and begrudgingly followed the man's instructions and left the prince alone, leaving the stage.
The prince rather confused by that followed him but didn't go off. He decided to shake it off and the figure in the water disappeared.
The prince ran to the water and began splashing it on the clown.
The clown jumped up like it was suddenly realizing that it was on fire. He bowed to the prince, taking off his burning hat then stormed off. He may not have been too happy about getting splashed.
Clowns are weird.
Something, or maybe someone was being lowered onto the stage.
The prince was now really confused. He followed the clown off.
The scene changed again! It was now night time.
A woman with long white robes and a crown that appeared to be made of long sticks pointed at the end was lowered and then raised. She appeared to possibly be a moon goddess.
Perhaps she was. It seemed the water had come to life, filling it with a large black alligator that had golden designs all throughout its hide.
People appeared to be something like moon people sat in the dull white light.
On the head of the alligator sat the clown and girl, making an appearance once again. The moon people seemed to hang suspended in air, like moon beams.
The clown and girl sat and watched as the moon people began to perform a spectacular dance.
The moon people (four women in all) were able to bend backwards and sit on their own backs. A water spout came up and the zebras were back. Mermaids glided along the surface of the water adding to the luminescent affect.
The music that played to their dance was that of the Asian type.
The moon people began to build a tower out of their bodies. One on the bottom and then another above her and so on until the last stood on her hands on the other's knees bringing her legs up.
She then brought her upper body down and then her legs. She got off. Then the next. Then they helped the next dancer up and then finally the last dancer stood.
As the moon people finished their dance the alligator began to move again taking The clown and girl around. And they exited though a tunnel.
The iron vines behind the water spout were pulled away. It revealed all the characters that had already been in the show. And the Body guard lift a ring into the air.
The Young acrobat making another appearance as he seems to be unconscious hanging limp from the ring, now painted and looking more like a sacrifice then anything. He slowly rose into darkness.
The Clown and girl came out again. Pulling something along and all the characters still behind them as four acrobats began to swing on some rings.
The four acrobats began to spin hard on the rings their feet dipping into the water.
They wore the same type of paint as what the unconscious acrobat had worn as he was raised.
They seemed to fly across the air on their hoops.
The clown stopped the girl, gesturing for her to wait a moment as he looked to the acrobats. A man is flung out of the water, spinning the water off his black costume.
Then more came up they are raised by ropes as the men on the rings pulled them up. They formed a star shape and then pulled apart.
The clown turned to the girl and walked across the surface of what they were pulling. He opened it, as it seemed to be a woven chest. The girl looked in but there is nothing there. The clown set her in it and began to close the lid.
The girl slowly disappeared down into the chest, and the lid fell shut.
The room went dark. Someone screamed and suddenly the room spun again.
I yelped, and suddenly clung to the Nutcracker to keep my balance. They really are going for all dramatics aren't they?
The chairs stopped turning and everything was quiet. Suddenly there were grunts. Growls, of a man struggling. Struggling from what?
On the monitors a man was seen being dragged out as the two of his guards hit at him as he tries to get away. The young aerialist had been captured.
The lights suddenly turned up on the stage and a huge metal Ferris wheel of doom could be seen. There were cages attached to the spinning axel and people were trapped running around like rodents.
The audience gasped as the acrobat was pulled into view.
On the rotary one spun with two cages. The men in those walk or tumble trying to stay on their feet as it turned.
Three cages, like a pinwheel, rotated a little slower as those people to try to stay on their feet as the machine continued to spin them on their own power.
The aerialist was kicked to his knees as he tried to fight back.
The guards strapped his wrists onto metal pipes that served something like a gate in a factory that kept people from falling off high walk ways.
The thing kept spinning, spinning, but finally it stopped.
The men that captured him seemed to be preforming a ritual. One of the men by the machine pulled a lever and water dropped into a bucket. He pulled a skull out of it and tossed it to one of the men beside the aerialist. He seems to be something of a magician. As he walked away he kicked at a woman who was drying up the water.
The man that had been seen taking the aerialist away came on, now instead of white, he was in yellow high collar and took the skull.
The aerialist watched curiously and fearfully.
Techno music plays as the man in yellow stepped up onto a platform.
The machine began to spin again more violently. One of the people in the cage fell from it but his restraints only let him slide across the floor.
It spun rapidly and the people in the cages were having a harder time keeping on their feet.
Suddenly two people who looked to be another royal and general were seen sneaking along a walk way closer to the machine.
One of the caged people found his way out and now stood on top of it still trying to work his footing, nearly falling a good many times.
As he performed, it gave the effect of many hours passing.
A few loud snaps were heard.
Holy geez he has whips! I yelp at the sound.
He was then worked back into his cage. Yells could be heard from either side of the stage. as this happened the people in the cages stopped the machine for rotating and looked out to see who was yelling. The guards keeping an eye on the prisoners were suddenly attacked by the two mysterious persons. The new royal and general came on stage and had a little fight with the guards.
When all appear to be taken down the magician made another appearance holding a pan that looked to hold a crust, at first fear was seen on his face but then his painted face twisted and he showed the royals what he had. It lit up with a boom and sent the royals to their backs.
He laughed manically. Drums began to sound. War drums.
The scene changed and then they our outside a technological city.
Harnesses were lowered and the eight people (who seem to be a recuse party) had escaped capture but were going to come back.
The stage on which they stood, tilted as if they were on a hill. The princess and who looked to be her general began to scout for trouble. But trouble soon found them.
Behind yellow head-dressed six, the machine was revealed and the aerialist was seen chained beneath it.
The man that captured the aerialist was revealed still clad in yellow but now his face was seen. Pale as death and a blazing red-orange beard hung from his chin to belt. His magician stood by his side and his men flank him. He held up a pan full of something.
The yellow head-dressed six flew to their leaders and stood at the ready.
Where the man stood rose higher and higher, towering over the small rescue party of men and women. His shadow stretched downward as he still held the pan high.
The princess and general hooked arms and nodded to each other as they prepared for the fight.
They are pulled to the wall that now stood. Their feet make dents in it as if it is soft metal. It rippled beneath their feet as they motion for the other's to follow.
The general strode forward and the magician jumped down to meet him. The princess yelled a battle cry and so they began to fight vertical to the floor.
The magician threw off the general but he was able to right himself.
The rescue party lined up again but the enemy began to pelt them with glowing orbs. Throwing the party off again. Righting themselves they charged again flying at the magician that held his ground, taunting them.
As they did this war drums beat louder. Deep bellowing bassoons played and the shrill flutes accompanied. It was almost as if they were singing.
They couldn't seem to get passed the defenses the magician set up. The enemy men leaped into action twirling their weapons as they went.
Constantly moving the battle continued. The yellow head dressed men and women moved in sync flying under the men's attack.
Leaving the General and Princess surrounded. Then the men were knocked away. It went on like that again and again.
Stalemate after stalemate.
The party came close but the magician sent the men back tumbling, nearly falling off.
As the party was thrown back the Princess was able to keep herself steady and tried to take down the magician. As the two fought the Magician pulled a dirty trick and the princess went flying back.
Again and again until the Magician was in the middle of the fight. Holding his pan he shouted and incantation and everything slowed.
The rescue party as well as his own men.
Realizing this The General tried to break free and move closer to the magician.
Finally the rescue party was able to push the Magician's men back but the Magician was not so easily deterred.
The rescue party still couldn't get too close to him.
He was in the middle of the circle the party had created. He thrust his pan to each of them and each time wounded them but they were not so easily deterred. They kept at it and finally…
Finally! I thought.
They got him. Or so they'd hoped. There was a small white flash and then another bigger one and then a thunder clap. The Magician, now very week was able to throw the party off of him.
They came at him again. Lifted him and threw him down the vertical wall. He landed and stayed still.
The party each took turns looking at him, each coming away with a smile.
Finally the royal and general came to look and they intern found him not to be dead but half-conscience. They dragged him up as his master yelled agrily realizing his defeat.
The General picked the Magician up and gave him a resounding punch to the face.
It was very satisfying to watch him get punched, I just have no idea why?
They then bound him and went to the Yellow clad man, who was blubbering like a baby.
The Princess and General ran to the aerialist and asked if he was alright. He nodded his head giving them a little smile, which the two returned.
They ducked under his chains and quickly undid them.
The two looked behind them as the aerialist rubbed his raw wrists.
The three of them ran back the other way and off stage as the rest of the rescue party vanished and the Magician and Yellow Man dropped below stage.
The scene changed again.
The girl came into view still holding the flyer and she looked up to see a man and a metal cube. The Man was balancing it on his back and as he moved he kept it attached somehow to his body. He was dressed like a jungle man and soon a peacock came on stage and strutted about never drawing too much attention to itself away from the Jungle man.
The Jungle man lowered himself and he took the cube with him. He looked at the girl and began to twirl it around throwing the cube into the air. The shinning metal glinted in rainbow colors.
Finally when his little performance was done two tigers came onto the stage and carried the cube off on their backs twirling all the while.
Eventually the Jungle Man ran to a different higher point in the stage and jumped off. And began to fly, something like Peter Pan. He lands and then walks to the girl.
The Jungle man looked at the girl affectionately and then turned and walked away. She never even got the chance to ask him if he'd seen the aerialist. He disappeared into the mist along with the peacock.
The girl then stood their alone on stage in the mist of fog.
Suddenly a little red rusted tricycle came on stage all by itself with yellow rain boots on its pedals. It rang its little bell and acted like it wanted the girl to follow at first she shook her head. But as it rolled away she followed it anyway.
She disappeared off stage as more modern music came on.
A hobo flying a kite came on stage wearing roller-skates, he acted as if the small kite was in a very bad windy updraft and was pulling him along with it.
The little trike came into view ringing its bell catching the Hobo's attention. The girl still following.
She walked past him and then pushed her back to him.
The Hobo seemed to be trying to tell the trike that he didn't know the girl or the aerialist. Suddenly a pregnant woman came on stage and scolded the trike.
Okay this is getting weird.
The woman and trike exited the stage and the Hobo so followed after going the other way. Again leaving the girl alone on stage.
The trike came again and again the girl followed.
It led her out of a strange looking tent and back to wear her originally began. Out in mist and look at a dozen or so strange tents.
We were suddenly sent off spinning again. I wondered how they kept the food from flying off. Then again it could have already been clattered to the floor long before this.
The girl confidentially walked into the tent the trike was leading her into.
People dressed as superheroes no one could name stood on a specially made stage so when they fell they'd fall onto trampolines. This is how they performed. They'd jump from one trampoline to the next flipping and interacting with each other.
Lights flashed and the stings plucked the cords.
Then everything went dark and you could only see the girl and the trike. She unfolded the flyer and looked at it sadly.
Suddenly the room spun again and we were outside another tent. The aerialist walked out and saw a giant plush bunny rabbit's head, like that of a toy that a kid had ripped its head off its body.
Okay that's creepy.
It rolled onto its ears and stood. The head now upside-down looked at the aerialist and motioned for him to follow. It then skipped away on its ears to another tent.
Why am I laughing so hard?
The Aerialist followed the rabbit head as it looked up at the full moon.
The Moon seemed to grow closer and then it seemed the perspective shifted and the Aerialist was lifted into the sky only to land and dive into the moon which was actually a large pool.
He swam down into blackness.
This is too confusing.
Suddenly on the stage multi-colored fish seemed to swim without water and the aerialist was sitting on a bed being pushed across the stage by what looked to be divers
Jelly fish and octopus danced their way around him. As they did some would drop and then be raised again.
The divers danced around the bed and the aerialist looked around with a defined expression of total confusion.
You and me both, buddy. I have no idea what's going on.
When the lights grew a bit dim, the bed began to rise. The blankets spread out from under it and all across the stage. Lights under it made the blankets glow with white green and pink as well as blue and purple. As the bed was lowered and raised it gave the affect that it was floating on water.
As the aerialist still in his bed was lowered into the waves the scene changed and the trike and girl came onto a dark stage.
Then the lights slowly came up and it was reviled that she was not alone. And in fact her company was that of rather crude form. Two woman attached at the head came first pounding a man with a flower.
The trike all but disappeared.
Lanterns were lowered around the girl as masked men in black suits grabbed then and walked stiffly away.
People in strange fluffy or tight party clothes were seen milling around with wine glasses and speaking incoherently with the others around them.
The girl looked very out of place in her simple (and modest) white outfit. She even looked awkwardly around as if she hadn't meant to come here and that she was not use to being around people like this.
I know how you feel.
Crude entertainment came from the ceiling as intoxicated laughter filled the air.
When the music started up again. I knew this was going to turn creepy.
The girl had a masked man with poofy black hair come up to her. She stumbled back from the sudden closeness and then remembered her flyer. She unfolded it for him to see, trying to figure out if he could see since his mask didn't have eye holes.
Then a Woman wearing a fluffy pink feathered coat came up behind her. The woman's head falling forward down the length of her coat as if her head was not attached her shoulders and spine.
The girl stumbled back from the decapitated woman as her head lulled to one side. The girl shrugged and tilted the flyer of the aerialist so the woman could see it.
With a bit of a sick crack the woman tilted her head right ways and likewise the girl tilted the flyer. The Woman threw her head back onto its shoulders and walked away.
A large monkey with an extra-large banana came up to her. As the girl showed the poster to the monkey a sudden scream was heard making the girl jump and turn to see who'd scream.
It was a woman who had extremely long legs or so it looked but then her body came back down and landed on a platform and it looked to be some sick game of strong man.
The girl came to her and held up the flyer. But the woman was shot back up before the girl could hear an answer.
She was going to try again but the next time she was shot up she was shot completely out of her pants and out of view.
The girl walked around more showing the picture off to anyone she could find.
The people that walked around her seemed to be something like a very strange and scary circus. Even the music that played suggested this.
Nobody was paying attention to the girl or the flyer.
The girl walked around and around but no one would give her an answer.
The Aerialist walked in and suddenly he was being mobbed by the circus freaks. He pulled away and looked around and suddenly he caught sight of the girl!
Oh well finally!
The girl caught sight of the aerialist. But both couldn't run to each other. They were surrounded by the would-be circ-a-teers and they grabbed at their shoulders and arms and kept them from running away.
The two yelled for each other realizing they'd seen one another.
"Help!" The girl cried as the aerialist struggled harder and harder to get to her.
My heart pounded. Please! Your so close! I thought as I subconsciously gripped Nutcracker's arm harder.
The two were pulled farther apart. The aerialist looked completely distraught as he watched the girl disappear into the crowd with one final forceful desperate, "HELP!" Tore from her throat the scene went dark.
NO!
Her scream echoed hauntingly.
The girl now stood on an empty stage.
Streamers came down and the girl walked to one. She found it to be pages of books. she shook her head and walked away off stage. Then out of the tent.
The girl walked a little ways away to somewhere empty. Then fell to her knees.
The royal that had freed the aerialist from before came out helping the woman the magician had kicked. The princess saw the girl and turned to her companions. Then she turned to the girl and called to her in no language I'd ever heard.
The girl heard and jumped, startled, then saw the royal, who motioned to the paper she was holding.
The girl quickly stood and held out the paper for the royal to see. The royal took it.
But suddenly a giant crab unearthed itself from the sand. Then a lobster then starfish.
The royal called to the girl was the two were suddenly separated.
As the royal was pulled away by her companions she continued to yell to the girl as the girl was unable to get around the large sea creatures.
Once the three companions and princess were safe at the edge of the stage the sea creatures were suddenly lowered below stage creating a chasm between the company and girl.
The girl looked down over the edge however the platform she was on began to tilt upwards. The girl fought to remain standing and on the platform however she was dumped down in after the sea creatures much to the princess and company's horror.
She let out a scream as she disappeared under the stage.
The four people turned and looked at the flyer. The woman tried to reassure the princess that the girl would be okay.
The man who had been the general then pointed to the picture remembering the aerialist.
Suddenly a group of barbarians came and began to shoot at the company. The royals then climbed the slightly raised platform to get away from them.
The two men of the party used the arrows that stuck in the platform and were able to kick the barbarians down and away from the royal and woman.
As the Barbarians began to regroup the platform began to tilt sideways.
A barbarian charged one of the men who slid to avoid it nearly falling off the platform as the barbarian chasing him did.
The man was helped back on by the large woman while the princess and other man were taking care of the others.
The princess and other man continued to fight the barbarians as the large woman and man made their way down off the platform and to safety.
Several more barbarians fell off the platform.
A bear skin clad woman came into view and saw that they needed help as more Barbarians came onto the platform.
She helped the princess off and one by one the barbarians were knocked into the chasm. However the man with the princess met the same fate before the Eskimo woman could knock the arrows off.
The last barbarian fell and the princess was safe. The two ducked down behind the wall.
Now the scene shifted again and on top the platform sat and artic yurt. But then the Eskimos unfolded the fabric and it turned into a makeshift flying machine. It began to soar around the stage.
The princess suddenly slipped and nearly fell off. She grabbed a hand from one of the Eskimos but in doing so, dropped the flyer of the aerialist.
The scene shifted again and the flyer landed somewhere dark. The trike found the flyer and the aerialist happened to be with him, picked it up.
Again the scene shifted. The girl now seen lay somewhere dark. She began to stir and look around at her new surroundings. She faced the back of the stage and then looked up when movement caught her eye.
It was the aerialist descending like an angle from heaven.
Oh thank the gods! They finally meet!
He performed a beautiful act all the while seeming to reach out to her.
A few characters previously seen preform with him on twisted looping metal that hung from the ceiling. A giant snake and a few insects climb the tubes that line the stage.
Finally the acrobat lands and presents himself to the girl, clutching his own poster. He smiles at her with utter relief. Finally they meet.
He hands her the paper. She smiles at it then at him looking ready to say something but then he pulls away back into the air. He again preforms for her as the tubes and twisted metal rings are pulled away.
He lands again and gives her a nervous smile.
She returns the smile with a sly one. Dropping the poster and walked coyly towards him.
She takes the rope he used and begins to swing on it with his help.
They are suddenly thrust into a beautiful dance-like aerial courtship.
He would spin himself around then spin down out of it. He landed and handed her the other rope.
She hooked her hand into it and together they lift into the air and preform a wonderful dance twisting around each other curling around holding hands landing again and chased one another around lifting into the air again dancing around each other spinning holding one another lovingly.
She jumped in to his arms and again were lifted into the air she sat on his shoulder and gently smoothed his hair. She lowered herself down into his arms and lowered them down He leaned forward bending at the knee where she rested her back as she was led into a dip. His hands behind him and his other leg thrust out behind him she leaned back and curled her fingers in his hair.
She hooked her fingers around his neck and again they were lifted into the air. She held onto his neck as they were and he leveled himself to the ground. She pulled herself up close to his face where she lay a chaste kiss to his cheek near his ear.
He let go of one of the ropes and took her in his arm and leaned her back. She again was in a dip in midair gazing lovingly up at the Aerialist.
She grabbed hold of him and laid her feet on his as they spun around again.
He lowered them down again.
She released him and twirled away doing a little front flip and spun again. He followed her and stood beside her. She wrapped her arms around him and he leaned forward she leaned back and sat gracefully on the ground. He spun away from her then threw her the other rope.
He pulled her up and she swung to him. He took her hand and pulled her into a spiral around him as he too was lifted from the ground.
They spun around each other again and again as they landed gain. For the last time.
The aerialist still looking to have some nerves hesitantly walked over to the girl and wrapped one arm around her thin waist and she wrapped her hand around the base of his neck.
Smiling nervously at one another their heads slowly came together in a solid, sweet kiss.
The two looked at each other with strange expressions. Then they beamed at each other taking the other in their arms and they again were lifted off the ground.
They were lowered and disappeared into the mist that rose from the back of the stage. And they were gone.
But this was not the end. Very close but not quite. A round of rotating sparklers went off and all the characters from beginning to end came on stage and faced the white/blue sparks as the aerialist and the girl were lifted up for all to see in a loving embrace for they had gone through worlds to find each other and now they would never be separated again.
With one final spark the lights and firework went out and everything went dark.
We were spun one last time.
The lights on the stage came up and the huge red curtain was back and was opened to see the entire cast and crew come forth and bow.
The audience went wild as the different groups each came and took their turns bowing. They waved and were lowered down and at last the aerialist and girl came out and the crowd was louder still.
That was freaking amazing!
The curtain closed and the lights came up. The show was over.
This took too long and I apologize for that. And if this is too confusing I apologize for that as well. If you guys haven't seen cirque du soleil worlds away, this is pretty much it. But hey it's over now. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE! You know even if you're not from America… yeah, um, bye. :)
