Chapter 14

Merida's View

I grunted softly, yeah it feels great! Falling onto your back on the cold stone. It hurts so damn much and that's the truth. Rubbing my throbbing backside, I gazed around the others, Hiccup helping Jack up and Rapunzel stood next to me with a concerned expression.

Good thing we didn't panic! Snorting to myself, my hands moved towards my long frizzy red hair and gently patted it down. Wincing as puffs of dust erupted from the locks, circling around my small head. How embarrassing.

"Lets not forget Ariel. What if she doesn't want to be my friend, what if she hates me now?" Rapunzels voice called out, drawing my attention. Turning my head, I stared at my over dramatic friend "My first HufflePuff friend! She probably hates me now. How depressing!"

"What is that?" I peeped up, searching the square rocks littered the walls, a dusty greyish colour. So horrible, disgusting I feel sorry for who ever lives here.
The tall, rather muscular frost head boy frowned, he placed his hands onto his hips and looked around "I don't know….Sounds like….wings…" He mumbled softly, his frown deepening more.

"Wings?" Rapunzel snorted, sticking my tongue out at the rats poop on the ground, she shuddered and avoided the piles.

"Dragons!" A voice cried, It bounced off the walls causing us to jump.
Searching the darkness around us, I frowned and scratched the top of my head almost jumping as Pascal bounced onto my shoulder. He gave me this look, his large eyes half lidded, he must have fallen asleep in Rapunzels hair again. What a brave little man.

"Where'd Hiccup go?" Rapunzel peeped up, her voice filled with worry. She looked around, her voice echoing around the room that filled with the sound of fluttering.

"Down here!"

Rising an eyebrow, I walked to a selected area of the disgusting room. I looked to the ground, eyeing the stone floors before I come to stone stairs leading downward, "Hiccup? You down there?" I called down, my voice bounced down, I couldn't help but grin a little, I liked the way my voice bounced of the walls. I suddenly had an urge to yell out 'Hello! I am super hero!' but held it back.

It wasn't much later that I heard a reply but not by words but a giggle. Yes. Hiccup was laughing "Well that makes me feel soooo better!" Jack mumbled, rubbing the back of his head "Maybe…he's being….tickled to death….?" He muttered a little, his voice filled with uncertainly.

The mere thought made me laugh a little, how amusing. The poor brunette.

"Come on." Rapunzel rolled her eyes, she scuffed and slowly began to step down the stairs. I frowned and watched as Jack followed before I sighed. Glancing around I breathed deeply as I noticed there wasn't any staircase stands to hold onto.

I glared lightly at the dust everywhere before I trailed after them. I blinked and stared with unbelieving eyes, Hiccup stood in the middle of a rather large white room with many different coloured scaled-winged lizards around him, their all so-so small about the same size of Pascal.

"Dragons…" Jack mumbled as he stepped into the room, his frosty eyes gazed around the many small dragons littering the room.
Hissing, I elbowed him and scuffed lightly, I gazed down at them "What type are these?"

Hiccup looked up from a bright white one on his lap, he nabbed his bottom lip "I don't know…I don't remember learning about them," He admitted sadly, his eyes lowering down in shame.

"It's alright. Don't be-" I began, stepping fully into the room. As soon as I steeped onto the smooth floor all the dragons leaped into the air at once, their small wings fluttering around, they reminded me off many white birds moving at once.

Hiccup pushed himself up and gazed up at the dragons, we all did. Their beautiful, really-really beautiful "Whoa! Merida how much do you weigh? You must have made so much noise walking into the room, it must have freaked them ou-" Jack yelped, cutting himself off with a small painful cry, he held his head and glared at me.

"What's this all about?" I mumbled, noticing a long golden-amber broom floating in the middle of the room, the straws was cut beautifully.

"Hey." Rapunzel suddenly drawn our attention, turning around we noticed Rapunzel walking towards a rather large golden door, she touched the handles and tugged a little before I stepped up next to her and tugging out my wand. Okay, I've seen Hiccup to this hundred times before, I can do this.

Holding my wand out, it was…cool with marks that looked almost like flames up the wood "Alohomora!" I mumbled, flicking my wand. The door shuddered, the handles tabbed against the door but didn't un lock "Well. It's worth a try."

"Ugh!" Rapunzel snorted, stomping her foot a little "What're we going to do? We obviously need a key!"

Thank you caption obvious.

Suddenly I noticed Jack's eyes narrowed, he eyed the small dragons "What's sup?" I asked, ducking my head a little as he looked at me, his eyes flickered at the lizards and back again.

"Is it just me, or does those dragons have keys tied around their necks?"

Eyes widening, I looked around at the dragons. Holy Crap! He's right, every dragon has a small sliver key "But…they don't look as if it would fit in the key-whole.."

"Key-dragons!" Hiccup suddenly called, turning his attention onto the dragons "We're looking for a big old fashioned one! P-Probably rusty like t-the handle." He explained, looking back at the doors and then at the dragons.

Nodding our heads, we turned our attention onto the fluttering dragons, they moved to fast. I can't make out a single key at this distances.

"There! I see it!" Rapunzel yelled, pointing up at a brownish dragon, around it necks was a rather large key, it looked way to big for that tiny dragon "The one with the broken wing."

"P-Poor guy.."

Lowering my gaze, I looked at the broom for awhile before sighing "This is way too simple.." I muttered, slowly walking up to the key.

"Go on Merida!" Jack called, gently rubbing the top his head "If Red-Death can catch it on that old broomstick, you can! You're the youngest seeker in a century!"

"Yeah!"

Well. It's nice to have my friend encouragement, but still. I have a feeling even if I get that key, it won't go down easily. Oh well. Gulping, I gripped the broom and slowly pushed myself onto the broom. I let out a small squeal as it slowly raised into the air before breathing and pushing forward, I flinched as the broom bust into life.
The small dragon sparked loudly, I dodged a few, ducking and rocking before I found myself chasing after the brown dragon, it tried to fly faster but couldn't because of it's wing. It only made a mess and almost fell from the air.

Reaching out, I snatched the dragon and ripped the key from around it's neck "Catch!" I called, throwing the key down the three below me who caught it easily. I smiled, relief as they unlocked the door.

Suddenly I felt something hot run up and down my hands, it tingled causing me to let out a yelp and drop the creature. It glowed a light red colour, my eyes widen and I let out a small sigh.

"You guys go! I'll catch up!"

I sighed once more, instead of the small dragon in front of me it was now a rather big, fully grown, angry dragon. I bit my bottom lip hard as I hard the loud sound of a door being slammed closed.

"Just my luck!"

Oh God! I've almost finished part 1...YAY...
